I’m extremely disappointed in my treatment. I was an employee of two YMCAs and a member all through high school and college2016-2021. I recently contacted them excited to see the new facility and asked for a free day pass because I wanted to see if I liked working out there. They confirmed over the phone I would absolutely get a free trial. I arrived and there was an extremely rude front desk woman. She did not say hello or any type of greeting. This is the front desk employee working on April 17 at 3:30. I informed her I was offered a free day pass and she said no it’ll be $10. I said I was an employee and a member for years, I left during the rebuild to another gym and want to consider rejoining, she said I do not even see you in the system. I said since golds gym rates have gone up I’m considering rejoining here, she said well our rates have gone up too (it seems like she was trying to make me not want to join) I asked to speak to Nader who is one of the kindest Gms I’ve had the pleasure to work for. She said sorry he’s probably busy in a meeting. I stood there awkwardly. This is extremely infuriating she acted like she didn’t believe I was an employee even after I mentioned all the old staff who I knew, she didn’t offer me a free trial even tho I was promised it and have been a lifelong ymca member and employed by them. I will not be going back here. Whoever she is needs to learn the ymca culture because they’ve always been so good to me in the past. I may return when my family joins in another studio bc it will be free but I couldn’t imagine willingly giving my money to this type of employee. There was a nice gentleman who gave me a tour and the new equipment is super nice. I’m very frustrated this my poor review.

When I first signed up I did so because this gym was close to my apartment but a month after singing up for my membership they closed this building for construction. Originally they planned to open it in January with no set time so I didn't cancel but now that has been delayed to Late February. The other closest gym has a very limited selection of equipment and is an hour to walk there and back from my apartment. I hate the YMCA but its not like there are other options just keep in mind that random stuff like this can happen.

This place is just depressing to workout in, It’s very hot inside, it’s impossible to train when the temperature is so high. The painting of the walls is not in good conditions, so looking around doesn’t help much to keep the motivation to be there, the place in general although it has ok machines, it is not well conditioned. For a membership of around $50, it’s not worth paying for. Well, at least the people who work there are very friendly.

Been going there for 30 years but service has declined and price is too high but I go for basketball and not every gym has this so limited in this area, not bad enough to leave but for other features they don't measure up...
Update: Feb 2022. I finally ended up quiting after 33 years. The last straw was a leak from A/C dripping on the gym floor on a Friday and no one came in to repair it until Monday. All the the wood had buckled and was a pure mess. So instead of taking care of the issue immediately ( like turn the A/C off for one thing) they let the floor buckle and now will take forever to repair it like they do for everything. That put me over the top so I quit. They could care less. No one even asked why after 33 years of service for the reason I packed it in. That tells you everything right there

It’s definitely a smaller YMCA, but they make excellent use of the space afforded to them. They have several benches and a couple of squat racks. The bench racks are technically adjustable, but are the kind where there are only two or three settings so if you’re in that awkward height zone where you need to be in between two of the settings, they don’t work for you. I utilized on of the squat racks for this.

Otherwise, The dumbbell selection is good and there’s a great cable pulley system. This YMCA also has your basics - chest press, leg press, etc.
