My granddaughter attended this gym and took classes on Friday nights. During the 2024 summer season we took a break due to other sporting activities. We rejoined the gym fall of 2024. My granddaughter’s dad took her. On the very first day she complained about the instructor. I brushed it off . Well the complaining only got more intense to where she had extreme anxiety. I took her to a counselor to get to the bottom of this. After her babysitter brought her home from the gym from extreme anxiety , stress and crying , I decided I need to go to see what the issue was that was causing my 7 year old fear and emotional stress. She pointed out the instructor to me and as I was talking to the instructor, my grandchild stood in the corner terrified and was weeping beyond belief. I asked why is she crying , she said this instructor yells at her and rolls her eyes at her. My child is terrified of this instructor. I even changed classes and even when she sees this lady when we walk in she cries uncontrollably. On Jan 13 I asked the instructor to meet with us to apologize to my grandchild. During this attempt the owner, Brandon Sloan , dismissed the instructor and proceeded to question my grandchild. During the discussion he refused to even acknowledge the concerns of myself and my granddaughter! He stated he has never had a complaint about this instructor. And he refused to even acknowledge that perhaps something occurred and ignored my family. I want to mention that even when asked about the instructor from Mr Sloan my grandchild was in tears and terrified.

The fact that we were dismissed is disappointing & disturbing! Something happened . My grandchild likes the new class and instructor. She never had an issue from our previous Friday evening sessions. The class I removed her from starts on Monday @ 6. She is with a new instructor and seems to be doing well with her. However the instructor who yells goes unchecked!

Update 1/15/2024
Greetings
I want to clarify something.

First Point: My Grandchild does not have BEADS in her hair. She has braids. (so false statement).

Second point- No one bothered to inform any of the three adults that brought her to your gym about the safety concern with her biting her hair nor hair not tied back, UNTIL the coach was approached about how she made my grandchild feel and how she treated her by being mean. If the so called safety concern was an issue why not bring it up in November of 2024. How convenient to bring it up in January 2025 AFTER the review. The issue was NEVER about her NOT listening , the issue is how my grandchild was treated and the fear she has of this instructor to the point of visible shaking and crying!
I was ONLY informed about the hair biting. I was not ever informed about her being made to sit out class until I read the response from the owner. ( neither of which I take issue on )
Also the hair biting was a soothing method to help her deal with the anxiety she felt from the instructor.

Third- Instead of meeting with us to come to an agreement, you banned a seven year old from your building. Wow...

As quoted by Zig Ziglar: You cannot solve a problem until you acknowledge that you have one and accept responsibility for solving it.-

What way to solve it , ban a 7 year old and her family because they spoke out. Tells me all I need to know.

I visited this location in 2024. We walked in and was not greeted or asked if we needed help. There was definitely a disconnect in the atmosphere and we have not been back to this establishment. I do not recommend. I wish I could take back the one star

My daughter has been going to Dynamic Gymnastics for 3 years and has been on the Hot Shotz team for 2 years. She has never had any issue with any of her coaches or her behavior there. Recently her class size has significantly increased from 8 girls to 11 girls ages 4-6 years old. Which takes away from all the athletes and the coach as well, it is to many girls for one coach to handle at once and work one on one with the girls… Tonight my daughter had an issue with one of the girls skipping her in line for and the girl tattling and lying on her when she was the one in the wrong. This same girl is always causing issues with other teammates and acting wild. Yet she never has any consequences for her actions and I feel she gets away with these things because her parent works here. But the one time my child has an issue and stands up for herself she is kicked off the team. I believe this is highly unfair. And it is ridiculous that I am still being charged for her tuition. It was nice while it lasted thank you to the wonderful coaches who have taught my daughter so much you will be missed but this was not fair whatsoever and my child will not return back for recreational classes.

We have been to 3 birthday parties here in the past 3 months, the first which for one of our own children. We have had 3 completely different experiences which ill describe individually.

Our first experience was absolutely phenomenal, Alexia and the other coach (whos name i don't remember) were everything we could have asked for and then some. Everything from the pre-party setup, showing the kids how to play safely, serving the food and assisting with gifting, to literally writing a hand written note thanking us for coming and all the names of who gifted what. i seriously could not have been more grateful for them during that experience.

Our second time wasn't a bad experience but it definitely didn't hold a candle to the first. there wasn't much setup that was done prior to the party, the coaches were present but not super interactive. Overall the the experience was ok but left a good bit to be desired.

Our third experience... they might as well have just given us the keys and said have at it. initially i felt like i was given attitude from the girl at the desk over signing the waiver (which i was going to sign but i darted to the back because my daughter fell into the bathroom). The "coaches" went over the rules for the kids to play and then basically disappeared. They spent the entire time jumping amongst themselves. No structure, no coaching, and no direction for the group of 3 year olds who were having the party.

We will definitely be returning because my daughter has a love for the sport but if its an option, we'll be booking our parties on coach availability and not date availability.

3/5 Stars because that's the average of 1 and 5

We attended a birthday party on Saturday - July 23. It was a hot 100 degree July summer day. The 2 Birthday hosts were great with all the children! But the building was 91 degrees inside and the kids
were extremely hot! I understand children
are resilient - but that is not safe!
Dynamic Gymnastics is a great facility, however it's difficult understanding why the owners would not invest in a good hvac system to have it better climate controlled for their employees, students and guests!
Creating an amazing, safer learning experience for everyone.

We had our daughters 3rd birthday here and it was wonderful. The 2 coaches did an amazing job wrangling 10 toddlers. They were helpful and super professional. Every child had such a great time. We will definitely be back.

Had my son’s 10th birthday today and every single kid had the MOST amazing time!! Alex and Q did a wonderful job keeping all the kids in line and engaging them in all the activities… They were professional, kind, and so accommodating! Couldn’t have asked for a better day! Thank you Dynamic Gymnastics for giving my son a day he’ll remember forever! ❤️

We have been part of the Dynamic Family for eight years. Our children have been involved in many of their programs, including the ninja and artistic teams, and have had such positive and rewarding experiences. We have always been pleased with their professionalism, high quality coaching, and focus on safety.

I can’t speak on the gymnastics program as we have only participated in tumbling and competition cheer. First of all, the prices are very high for the services received. I’m learning there are several other programs that offer much more for cheer athletes than DC. In addition, they FORCE you to provide a credit/debit card or checking out information for automatic drafts. They are also very unorganized in everything they do from uniform sizing to meetings...or whatever it may be outside of competitions. Nothing runs in a timely manner. If you have any credits on your account, they do not refund you YOUR money. They keep it on your account or allow you to gift it to another athlete. They are terrible with building character and moral among the girls. When you have single digit aged CHILDREN on the same with 15+ year olds, you should be qualified in coaching athletes in addition to teamwork, moral, and character building. A particular coach speaks to these youngsters at times as if they are adults, which then allows the girls to think they can also act in the same manner as they mimic their leaders. Moreover, creating constant drama. Seek out other programs and gyms that treat your children or youth as their age and that teach them persona and character building alongside the sport. There is favoritism and it’s a program that clearly has problems...and is really just there for $$. There aren’t athletes that stay and grow within the program, with the exception of a couple, for more than a year or two...Time enough to learn of the greed and the lack of overall competence of running a cheer program, communication, and organization. Number one thing is to do your research in area gyms and programs to ensure your athlete is in the right atmosphere in order to be the best they can and persevere. There are plenty of All-Star programs in Lynchburg and Surrounding areas that are competitive and win with Junior and Senior teams, not just Tiny’s. Just do your research.

My daughter has been going to dynamic for about 5 years. The coaches and staff are amazing! We switched from another gym and her level pretty much exploded at dynamic!! She has multiple state and regional championships and is headed to nationals this year.
