Where do I begin. Equipment is extremely outdated and pieced to gather as if it came from a yard sale. One of the two double cable machines stays out of service more than it does in service. None of the free weights are consistent or of the same make/style. There’s atleast 4 different brands of free weights… good luck with having matching weights on either side of a barbell.

Bathrooms are NEVER stocked or cleaned. Men’s restroom has 2 sinks in it which is absolutely necessary to support the volume of people. Sadly, one of the two sinks has been broken for over 6 months with obviously no plans of fixing it.

Parking lot is in shambles. Budget for a front end alignment if you plan to frequent the gym with any consistency.

I’ve been an avid gym goer for 10 years now and this is the worst I’ve ever been a member of. Worse than that, it’s also the highest priced gym membership I’ve paid for. March of this year the owner added a yearly maintenance fee of $25 in addition to the unreasonable monthly cost. Don’t ask where this maintenance fee was applied, because it certainly wasn’t applied to updating any equipment, fixing/repairing facilities, or maintaining the parking lot. If there was any competing gym in Appomattox, I’m certain Elite would cease to exist.

Awful place. The tanning beds are so cracked that they pinch you when you lay in them. The owner Tyler is money hungry, obviously they need all the $ they can get but I can understand why because everything in there is so out dated. 🤷‍♀️

Had a membership at the farmville location, went to cancel it on April 29th. I was charged $60 on the 30th, despite my membership typically only being $35, and having cancelled it the previous day. Usually my membership didn't renew until the 1st - 4th anyways, and I had already been charged for the month of April. I called and the farmville attendant was confused about the charge as well, and told me to contact the Appomattox location for IT support. I have called the Appomattox location several times since, they haven't answered once. I left 2 voicemail and never heard back. Overall just disorganized and frustrating.

This gym is full of some of the best equipment I’ve seen. I’ve been working out for about 4 years and this is an environment that caters more to the experienced lift, which is really nice to see. Very much does not have a commercial gym vibe to it. Gym etiquette is a big deal and everyone is super friendly. I’ve worked out at many gyms and Elite has the best combination of equipment, my personal preference for the feel/vibe, and it caters to the more serious lifter.

Came here after not being at a gym for a while. I was nervous as I am out of shape a bit, but as soon as I walked through the door the man explained where everything was. I paid the $6 and was there for 2 hours. It's really clean, neat, and welcoming.After about 1.5 hours the man came up to me and checked on me. Told him I was fine. If you are looking for a new gym or to just check one out. I recommend this place.

I left Appomattox 2 yrs ago n I'm back. I broke n fractured my foot n ankle and heel, not exactly how I wanted to move back n start gym again. The courtesy I was shown, was appreciated deeply. I've been to several gyms and when you open the door n greeted as I was, I respect that. I've had alot of surgeries and I was on bench n my shoulder gave out, my collar bone broke from the sleeve that's screwed to collarbone, broke off, again . However, there was a regular standing nearby ran to spot the bar off my chest. Very grateful he said he knew I had shoulder issues from the scars he saw.
Been friends every since. Hesa muchbigger died. I'm just an ole man who loves working out in the gym, hearing the bang of steel. Real descent place, it was a suprise to me my 1st time In there. I'll be bk.

There are more than enough equipment choices for anyone looking to improve their fitness level. They have free weights and machines in 2 rooms. There is an indoor walking area also. It serves my purpose well.

Went in for one day while traveling first and foremost they let me pay for one day witch a lot of gyms will not let you do price was affordable and they had all the equipment that anyone would need and nothing you don't its a great old school gym with plenty of squat racks machines including the great dyna-body standing chest press and squat as well as an outdoor area for those of us who like to work out in the heat.

Used this place when visiting over the holidays. They advertise active military discounts, but I wasn’t afforded one with an active duty ID card. That’s not really a big deal, though. A lot of the equipment was older and in rough shape but the environment is pretty good. The girl at the desk last time wasn’t very friendly and seemed like she was still learning, but she still did a good enough job.

They had almost everything I needed equipment wise. One thing I didn’t like is some equipment was broken and most of the smaller stuff was strewn around and there didn’t seem to be storage for a lot of it, making it hard to find what I needed. I wish they would offer prorated prices so I don’t need to pay for an entire month. Again, not a big deal. If you like the dirty, old school feel of a gym (which is how real lifting gyms should feel) then you’ll like this one. I plan on using their facility again next time I visit.

Dirty, and none of the members are taught gym etiquette and that was before COVID-19, after COVID-19... Nothing changed except them putting hand sanitizer up. No one wipes their own machines or wears masks. After saying something about that I was accused of something I didn't do and "banned". Not only that but he had his cop friend of the Appomattox police to harass me at my house over it. Don't go here, you will get sick from the dirty state of everything

Somehow or another , I had accidentally rated Elite Fitness a 1-star. It's a 5-star. It's an outstanding gym that is constantly improving /expanding . You can get it in 24/7. The gym has a helpful staff, childcare services, ample space for all kinds of workouts. It's also very well kept. ISYMFS!

Decent gym with quite a few machines and options for working out. They need better maintenance on the equipment and it wouldn't hurt to have better child care offering (4-8pm) For such a small city, it's not a bad gym at all. Weekends are pretty empty and it can get scary being alone with no staff present. Should install an emergency phone or something to help with security.
