We came here after doing a trial lesson at another swim school and there was a noticeable difference in everything from the bathroom/facilities condition to the amount of playroom in the pool and attentiveness of the instructor. We are very happy here!

This place is a complete rip off!!! We did not see the kids making any more progress and decided to cancel the lessons. At the time we canceled my kids had each 16 if not more makeup classes. We were informed that those make up classes can be done if we are still enrolled and since we cancel we will lose all of them. I do not believe this is fair as all of those make up classes were paid for and no service was provided!!! the Area Manager that was on site was very dismissive and did not try to assist us in any possible way, but did not forget to mention what her role is! The price for the service is way to high and place lacks cleanliness and supplies. Always out of soup, or toilet paper, or paper towels. Not to mention the showers being broken for days!

We’ve had such a wonderful experience at Goldfish Swim School! My son has made incredible progress—from not wanting to put his face in the water to now confidently going fully underwater for 10 seconds and swimming unassisted with a barbell for 5 feet! It's been amazing to watch his comfort and confidence grow with each lesson.

The staff at the front desk are always so responsive and accommodating, making the whole experience smooth and welcoming. A special shoutout to Instructor Nahum, who has been an absolute gem! Our daughter started in Junior 1 and we had a great experience there until she transitioned to Junior 3. Once she started that class, they did not seem to care about her progress. She made absolutely no progress for approximately 9 months of lessons until we chose to cancel. I reached out to Goldfish Swim on multiple occasions by phone to express my concerns, but nothing had been done to address the issue. In fact, they even took away stars previously acquired during one of her evaluations. I finally voiced my concerns in person and only then did they work on specific skills during a couple classes. However, they still did not do evaluations on time, or even with a tablet to record her skills for accuracy. This was extremely frustrating because my husband and I were there every week to watch her and could clearly see the progress she made. Her instructors even told us she was ready for the next level yet during the next evaluation again no progress would be made. I even requested, on multiple occasions, a formal evaluation by a manager but this was not conducted until the very last day after we submitted for cancellation, despite being told weeks prior by the manager, Tysean, that this would occur. We just wanted our daughter to learn to swim independently and hoped that if NO progress was made after multiple months that even a little bit of effort would be made to focus on the skills she had not mastered.

It was also extremely frustrating that we received little to no notice that class was canceled after we had already driven 30 minutes to attend. This occured on multiple occasions.

After reading other reviews, I can completely agree with the frustration of last-minute cancellations. As parents pointed out, it’s incredibly frustrating when you're already on your way and then find out the class has been canceled, especially when it can take over an hour with traffic to get there. The staff at the front desk sometimes just shrugs it off, not understanding the time and effort it takes for families to get to the location.

The instructors are fantastic, though—exceptional people who genuinely care and do their best to teach our kids. Unfortunately, this positive experience is often overshadowed by the lack of professionalism from the front desk management. A year ago, the older management team, including Andrea and Gypsy, were great, but it seems the new manager and desk supervisor aren't as accommodating or invested in their customers. It’s disappointing, especially given how much potential this place has.

We’ve been going to goldfish swim for several months now and truly LOVE IT. My child started before 2 years old and at first was a bit nervous/scared but with our lovely instructor Ms. Lily she has gotten much better. She looks forward every week now to attend swim class and I definitely can see her improving and learning. The other thing I love is how occasionally they have family/friend swim events as well as minor activities at the school for kids to do while you wait for class (coloring pages, blocks, books, etc.)

Fantastic swim school with excellent instructors. The place is clean with adequate seating to watch your kid's swim lesson. Their app is excellent to schedule makeup classes or to find other days/times for your kid's class. Plenty of changing rooms, around 6 hair dryers, 3 bathrooms. Classes are 30 minutes at a time. You can even book your kid's birthday party. Overall, great service.

Decided to take my daughter out of this school, lately a lot of things haven’t been working and they don’t notify you. For almost 3 weeks the water heater in the pool was not working, then tonight’s class the showers weren’t working and they don’t let you know, it’s inconvenient.

I am extremely upset with this location. They randomly cancelled classes without any notice. On several occasions I drove out with my kids and location was closed without any notice. This is so unprofessional. When asked, they send an unprofessional text saying some maintenance issue. Please post on your website or any other place that location will be closed. They are quick to charge you or take your credits if you miss the class but when they cancel class on their own, it’s no repercussions. I paid over $1500 for my kids lessons and don’t deserve this treatment. Someone from management contact me asap to make this right.

I have two of my kids enrolled here and they love it. I had them in a different swim school and they hated it, never wanted to go. Fast forward a year and they love this place. There is some turnover as some say but everyone who has come in behind us been just as welcoming and friendly. I was impressed with how well organized the school functions as well as the numerous amenities to keep kiddos comfortable - 90 degree water, warm showers, baby changing table, generous size changing rooms and blow dry station. At the first lesson we were given a full tour and told of the details of how lessons are conducted. After each lesson parents and kiddos are informed of how well the kiddos progressed during the lesson. Goldfish seems to keep both parents and kiddos engaged and most importantly kiddos have fun while learning new skills.

We have had the most amazing experience at goldfish swim school in short pump! It’s the “Disney world” of swim schools. Our daughter is thriving at Goldfish. Ashley has been a great private swim instructor and is so great at balancing teaching and fun. Ashley really took our daughter under her wing and found an approach to swimming that works for her at a time when she needed the extra attention.

For the group instructors our daughter has worked with - Cameron, Zamanuel, Danali, Marcy, and Kie - all are extremely knowledgeable and are excellent at managing different personalities in the water at the same time. They are so fun and engaging, and balance the lesson time fairly so every swimmer has adequate instruction and time in the water during the 30-minute lesson time.

Now my daughter can be in any pool or the beach comfortably without floaties or us holding her, and we can’t get her out of the pool when we’re at home or on vacation. Thank you, team Goldfish!

Here at Goldfish Lake Ridge, we have been treated with nothing but respect and compassion. The instructors and managers have been nothing short of miracle workers. They took my child, who at the beginning was apprehensive about the water, and made swimming lessons his favorite activity! I appreciate the special interest the assistant GM Ashley took in my child when he was not improving as quickly. She matched him up in another class with Ruth and my son improved by leaps and bounds. Try at your own risk! Not only do they have a high swim instructor turnover rate the management staff specifically Ashley G. is completely incompetent and rude! They do not uphold preference nor do they accommodate when they make mistakes such as sudden class changes, or miscommunication on instructors of the day which is constantly changing not every instructor is trained for every level making the need for proper communication and scheduling incredibly important. Most of the instructors are extremely young and unfocused. They do a great job with children's interest it's the inconsistency and safety that makes this location in particular questionable.

My daughter is absolutely obsessed with going to swim class. She starts counting down the days until the next class, as soon as she is finished with class that day!! So glad we finally signed her up!

updated review (previously 5 star review also) My 2 kids have been enrolled at Goldfish swim school since they opened in March. Both (2 & 7 year old) have made so much progress and are excited to go each week. My daughter has Cameron (Glider 1) and my son had Ellie & Ashley, before moving up to Mini 3. The coaches that we've had are great and we are very happy there.

Absolutely amazing experience comparing to other location of the same chain. Management is very helpful and understanding, instructors are on point. BOTH of my kids developed a lot since we started going there. General manager Mike helped us out when we needed. My sons loves his instructor Ashley. You rock guys!

Very nice and safe place for infant, toddlers and kids to learn swimming. I took my 4year old daughter and she was scared of water. The instructor was so nice and friendly that now she loves to learn swimming. Kudos to Jayden (her swim instructor). He is super helpful and she likes the way he teaches.

Extremely inflexible - You can only cancel in person. I asked if they could email me the forms like other swim schools and I was told that I had to sign the documents in person.

All of the instructors at Goldfish are incredible. My three yesr old is very stubborn and puts up a fight almost every week, and the instructors are so patient with him to get him into the water. Once he's in, he is great! They've helped develop my oldest child's confidence in the water, too. The staff is amazing.

Membership at Goldfish Swim of Lakeridge has been a joy! The instructors are great and really seem to enjoy teaching the children new water skills. The pool area nice and the changing area/ facilities are always clean and tidy.

Great, new facility - wonderfully set up and geared for toddlers and preschoolers. The app is very easy to use and schedule classes. My 3 yo loves swimming at this school!

My kids are loving their swim lessons! As a parent, I'm very happy to see so many employees on the pool deck watching the swimmers - especially the younger ones. This is not the case everywhere and one of our kids almost drowned because there were no lifeguards or extra employees watching the swimmers. Facilities are clean, cheerful, and welcoming. Instructors are kind and positive meeting all my kids at their skill level!
