I’ve been coming to Good Vibes Yoga for a little while now, and it’s quickly become my favorite. The space is warm, peaceful, and welcoming, and Jyoti is a truly wonderful instructor. She’s knowledgeable, encouraging, and creates such a supportive environment for growth. Thanks to her guidance, I’ve gained the strength and confidence to try binds and arm balances — things I never thought I’d be able to do! Every class leaves me feeling stronger, calmer, and more connected. I’m so grateful to have found this studio and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a deeper, more empowering yoga experience.

Jyoti is a terrific Pilates teacher. She teaches classical Pilates formulated on form and precision while also being funny and lovely, a rare thing to find in this practice. I am learning a lot in her class! Bottom line, I feel taken care and healthily challenged, the perfect Pilates balance.

This studio is a gem: if you are looking for a personalized approach with an owner who is present and who knows you by name, this is your place. Jyoti, the owner, offers a variety of classes ranging not only from different types of yoga, to classical Pilates and now the addition of a Pilates reformer program. The teaching is intentional here, the setting is intimate. I have learned a lot to help me strengthen my core which was the goal and keep a steady self-care routine with my visits. The light-filled studio is located on the second floor (reformer on the 3rd) of the Bradlee Medical Building, there is plenty of parking available outside of the building so it is convenient to access. Costs for membership are very fair compared to the area and various options are offered. She also offers some seasonal workshops that are fun to explore! I love Good Vibes Yoga studio!

Five Star Studio! I've been attending GVY for 2.5 years now, and it's one of the very best decisions I've ever made for my physical and emotional health. Jyoti is awesome at what she does; being a healer! She is a kind, compassionate, fun, and trauma-informed instructor! You can tell how passionate she is about the practice with every class and student, as she always brings awareness and expertise, the utmost care and safety, and vibrant and loving energy into her space. I leave every class feeling challenged and nourished, both mind and body.

Good Vibes is a great yoga studio in the Alexandria area. The owner, Jyoti, really engages the students in class which strengthens the Good Vibes yogi community. Flow is my favorite class since I get to work on poses I’ve been trying to master. The Bala classes are also perfect if you want to build strength. If you’re looking for a great studio with a small community vibe, check out Good Vibes!!

Good Vibes Yoga is my happy place! I joined the studio because it's close to my house and easy to park. I've stayed for nearly four years and counting because it's become such an integral part of my lifestyle. I've learned so much about yoga from Jyoti, the incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate studio owner and yoga teacher. I take the full range of classes with her from vigorous Sun Flow to relaxing Yoga Nidra to strengthening Pilates and consciousness-raising Meditation.

Good Vibes Yoga has been an important part of my health and wellness routine. I love the variety of classes and levels to choose from. I started just doing yoga class and then expanded into pilates. I was new Pilates before Good Vibes, and now I don’t know what I’d do without it! ❤️

The combination of yoga and pilates has helped me improve some of my chronic pain/discomfort from old dance/gymnastics injuries. I feel stronger, healthier, and in better control! I’m so excited to start getting into the pilates reformer and other equipment! 🎉

The studio has a great vibe to it and the people are really friendly. Oh and it’s CLEAN! 🧼 🙌 I also really like that the class sizes are not too big and that the instructor actually teaches you! She’s super knowledgeable and cares that you get value in each class. I highly recommend this studio!

This studio is truly special. It’s great for restorative and healing yoga practices. The other classes (sculpt, Pilates) are also great. They’re beginner friendly but still a great workout- I’m easily intimidated by workout classes and I was able to jump right in with no issues. Jiyoti is a kind, charismatic, and supportive instructor who makes everyone feel comfortable. She even does fun themes every now and then like glow in the dark yoga with black lights and glow sticks or candlelight yoga in the winter to keep it cozy. The studio is always spotlessly clean and the location is very accessible with plenty of open lot free parking. I really don’t think there is another studio like this, especially in the DC area.

I first joined this class with the new student special as I was going through a divorce. My intention was to find a space to heal and grow spiritually while also receiving the physical health benefits of yoga and Pilates. This studio was perfect for what I needed, and the energy here is truly magical. After my new student special ended, I immediately signed up for an unlimited membership. It is worth every penny.

A huge benefit is the flexibility. Although I do prefer to go in person, I love that you have the option to attend virtually for most of the classes, as my schedule fluctuates from week to week. I also take advantage of the on-demand classes as part of my membership. Additionally, the workshops have been extremely helpful in refining my practice.

This studio is great for seasoned yogis and beginners alike. There is a class for everyone! Jyoti cares immensely for her students and ensures that you practice safely and receive all the therapeutic benefits of practicing.

The energy in this studio is so peaceful and uplifting. It really lives up to its name. I’ve personally grown so much this past year and yoga has been a huge part of my growth. I recommend this studio to anyone wanting to make yoga a part of their life.

So glad I found this studio so many years ago. There's a wide array of classes, with different timings that fit my schedule. Jyoti works tirelessly to get to know all her students and their needs. The studio/classes are inclusive, respectful, and just so much fun.

I have been taking classes regularly at Good Vibes for a few years, mostly Pilates along with some yoga and meditation classes. It's a perfect mixture of exercises for both physical and mental health. The benefits are apparent after sticking to it for a while. I am so grateful to Jyoti and other students who have created an oasis of calm strength in my life.

Decide for yourself: I came to Good Vibes to reprioritize my health after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which I disclosed to Jyoti in our first class. I had a good experience with Good Vibes during my one-month trial membership, so I signed up for a full membership.

Just before my first full membership class (and my very first Pilates class), I made a joke that I shouldn’t be in front of the camera since I didn’t know what I was doing yet. Jyoti then asked me (in front of the class) if I had ADHD and if I took any medication. I told her (and the class, I guess) that I take medication for anxiety. After class, she pulled me aside and expressed a (genuine, I think) concern that I had ADHD. I expressed openness to the possibility and I agreed to discuss with my therapist. The next morning, she sent me the attached email.

As you can see, she says I need to get assessed for ADHD asap and take medication if I want to stay in group classes. It wouldn’t surprise me if my energy was out of balance—I was (and still am) processing my diagnosis. Sometimes I feel depressed. Her comment that sometimes I seemed “stoned” was especially hurtful, as fatigue is one of my symptoms. Her message left me feeling pressured, almost threatened, and ashamed about how I was showing up in the world at that point in my recovery. I wish she had shared her concerns about my participation in group classes in the month before I signed up for a full membership.

So I emailed her back and asked for a refund. She didn’t answer. So I disputed the charge with my credit card company, something I have never done before. Several weeks later I emailed her again and she informed me that my membership would not renew but that I still had classes available to me for that month. So, no refund.

If after telling me that I couldn’t stay in group classes long-term Jyoti had agreed to refund my membership I wouldn’t have left this review. Almost two months later, my bank has given me a refund. If I’m mistaken and Jyoti did agree with my bank to refund me, I would be happy to amend this review.

And as it turns out, I don’t have ADHD.

Jyoti is an extremely knowledgeable and welcoming guide to yoga and Pilates. Her unique boutique studio is a refreshing environment that focuses on healing and health in an otherwise pretty stale metropolitan yoga culture. Five out of five stars for sure! Cannot wait to attend another class!

I have really enjoyed practicing at Good Vibes Yoga. All of Jyoti's classes are extremely intentional and grounding. Jyoti goes above and beyond to create a strong sense of community here: introducing new students, cleaning the studio before each class, community engagement... GVY is one of the most intentional places of practice I have been to in a while.

Good Vibes Yoga is my happy place & I am sure it will be yours too! From the moment you walk into the building and up the stairs you can sense (and smell / truly Jyoti should bottle a signature sent) the serenity and positive energy this studio emits. Jyoti is as silly and knowledgeable as she is passionate & inspiring. Whether it’s Pilates, Moon Flow or Chakra Reset - you won’t be disappointed. Good Vibes Yoga is a community for all and a place to grow and deepen your practice.

Good Vibes is a great small business yoga studio located in the Bradlee Family Medical Center in Alexandria. Jyoti, instructor and owner, is able to meet the goals of every student regardless of their level or previous yoga experience. She continually asks students for feedback to ensure that is accommodating every individual. There are a variety of classes and times with most being taught both in-person and virtually.

This place is amazing. The atmosphere as soon as you walk with the door brings you a certain peace and calm. The instructor is very welcoming, very attentive to your needs. Regardless if you're an expert or you are novice like myself. I'm a military vet with bad sciatica arthritis in my hip. I was hesitant because I've done physical therapy before and nothing has helped, but after my first session I felt relief in my sciatica for at least 3 weeks, which over the counter medication didn't relieve. The instructor was very patient, understanding and knowledgeable about my medical conditions which helped me relax even more. I'm doing yoga through the VA where I live but I'm going to ask the VA When I travel back to Alexandria if They will approve me to take yoga at this studio.

Good vibes, I appreciate you and what you've done for me see you soon.

Jyoti is a gem of a teacher! I knew from my first class onward that I found the studio where I wanted to practice. As a teacher she is highly skilled and trained. Her teaching is purposeful and organized, on occasion spontaneous. She is respectful. She is watchful. She challenges but never pushes. As a person Jyoti is a kind and happy soul, playful and joyous. She is a discipline of Sri Swami Satchidananda. She teaches yoga with Ahimsa, non-harming, hence her studio’s symbol. I’m so glad that I found her.

I would give Jyoti ten stars if I could. For me personally, in order to practice yoga consistently, I need a connection with the teacher, and I have never felt a connection like this with any yoga teacher before! She (and the community she has built) is always so welcoming, and is equally talented at kicking my butt with Pilates or sun flow, or helping me relax (always a challenge) with Yin yoga or yoga Nidra. The studio is small and intimate and you can’t just show up without booking a class, so take heed. The website has all the info you need to get started, and she offers great virtual options as well.

Update: I did the first review in the “before times”. During the pandemic Good Vibes has been a grounding force. Jyoti, the owner, has evolved the Covid precautions. In studio, vaccines and boosters are required and kept students and teachers safe. She also brilliantly allows all classes to be joined via zoom. If you can’t join in real-time she sends on-demand recordings so you can join as convenient for you. Check out Good Vibes! If there were a higher star rating, I would give it!

I love Good Vibes Yoga! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It is truly an inclusive environment to practice!! There is no judgement and no mirrors so you focus on your mindfulness and mat. All instructors I have had are experienced and provide good instruction. Jyoti, the owner is fabulous and works every day to make the studio even better with small thoughtful ideas for students. I have been going to classes for the last 16 months have noticed a change in both my mindfulness practice but my strength and flexibility. Highly recommend this studio.

Love, love, love this studio! Found it in fall 2018 when my regular studio suddenly closed and immediately felt right at home here. There has always been a good variety of classes and when COVID hit the owner pivoted quickly to online. While the studio has reopened, Jyoti still offers the ability to take classes live online or on demand. Good Vibes is not only the name of the studio, it is a reflection of the atmosphere here.

"I've been practicing yoga for twenty-five years, and Good Vibes Yoga is the best studio I've ever been a part of! I'm stronger and more centered than I've ever been, thanks to the teacher, Jyoti, whose humor, unpretentious demeanor, incredible teaching ability, dedication to her students, and the supportive environment she has created keeps me coming back. The variety and frequency of classes offered both on demand and in studio allow me to maintain my practice on my schedule and in my preferred safety level.

Five stars isn't enough for Good Vibes Yoga! I've been going to Good Vibes for many years. It offers well-trained teachers, an inviting, cozy studio, and a welcoming community. The owner and primary teacher, Jyoti, goes the extra mile to have a safe and engaging practice both in-studio and on-line. I highly recommend Good Vibes if you are looking for a small studio with great teachers and good vibes. It is a treasure for Alexandria!

***UPDATE 11.27.2020*** The studio has gone through great measures to re-open. The owner painstakingly hung double layers of curtains to create 4 socialy distant, private spaces, while maintaining the vibe of being in the studio. Your temperature is taken before you can enter, you then take all of you belongings to your space and close the curtains. Class is taught virtually from the studio, take your laptop or use your phone to get on the zoom meeting. It's better than taking the zoom class at home because you get the energy of the club AND the in person energy of the instructor. I get distracted easily whem taking class at home so being in the studio is great. If wearing a mask during class bothers you, don't knock it until you try it, or try at home before coming to the studio. I PROMISE, YOU CAN DO IT. Sign up and come to class at the studio or take it at home. Local businesseslike Good Vibes need our support now so they can be here when the Pandemicis over. yoga studio with no frills, which is what this yogi likes. Excellent instruction with a great variety of classes. Kyoto, the owner, is the embodiment of good vibes. She does offer great tea, and healthy complimentary snacks. I haven't practiced for several years and with the 2 week trial, which for unlimited classes is a steal at $38, is so worth it. You will want to go for at least 1 class a day if not 2!

I am hesitant to write a review because one of the things I love about this studio is the intimacy of the community we are building. Part of me would like to keep this secret gem of a yoga studio secret forever. However, I know that keeping a business secret only hurts the business and this ones deserves success. I've been practicing yoga for nearly a decade, but I've been at this studio only 6 months. In that time I have experienced incredible growth in strength (both mental and physical) and confidence in my practice. The teachers are all incredibly dedicated to building a community and helping each of us tailor every practice to exactly what we need. 5 stars all around!

This is an intimate, high quality yoga studio. The owner, Jyoti, is a lovely person and phenomenal teacher. There are little perks like tea, almonds and hair ties available and the studio space itself is clean, bright and beautiful. There is always parking available and mats to rent if you are a newbie. If you love yoga in an atmosphere that is accepting and friendly, or want to try yoga in a non-competitive space, Good Vibes is for you.

Good Vibes is a cozy yoga studio located in the Bradlee Medical Center. There is ALWAYS parking, which is a real plus for me in a yoga studio. More importantly, however: the yoga is quality. Because it is a smaller studio, and because the instructors are so friendly and knowledgeable, you get personal attention in each yoga class without it being overbearing at all. This studio has a range of classes to suit different aspects of your practice: more restorative classes such as yin and yoga nidra, as well as more vigorous classes such as power sun flow. I will be attending classes at this studio often!
