We are a locally owned and operated functional fitness gym that meets you where you are in your health and fitness journey and takes you where you want to go. Our methodology and practices are supportive of a lifestyle where one would be seeking sustainable and lasting results while living a life full of vitality.
We offer many services to help people reach their goals including group training, small group training, personal training, and nutrition coaching. Our "form first" training ensures safety while maximizing results in a fun and inclusive environment that is guaranteed to keep you on track and accountable.

I dropped in all the way from Canada because this gym has it all. A warm welcome for Masters aka 55+ lifters, and so many amazing women. The gym was welcoming, clean, great music, and top quality gear. We worked together spotting and lifting to get stronger.

Started at Grit with a Lifting Fundamentals Class. Each week we covered and different topic, including nutrition. Rachel also had us write our own workout which we discussed briefly at the beginning of each class.
At around week 4 I decided to join the gym, best decision ever, it's great to have a place I want to go at 6:30 am 5 days a week

It's now 2 months into my fitness Journey, Grit has been a game changer with my over all health.

ETA. Wow I am now 8 months into my journey, I have walked through that door 200 times for class or personal training.
The person that walked through that door 8 months ago is not the same person as today, I am stronger, healthier, more in tune with my body and generally happier. I didn't think you could feel this way at 50 years old.

ETA 18 months and over 400 classes later it keeps just getting better and better. If you have read this far, you and I both know it is time to go check out Grit, I promise you won't regret it.

This is a review that was long overdue. I moved into the area back in August and was looking for a new gym to try out. Both Rachels have truly created a warm and welcoming environment at Grit. All the coaches are phenomenal, and you can tell everyone loves what they do. I am so glad I took the leap of faith back in September and joined. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I admit I was a little apprehensive when I first started coming to GRIT because I was used to the gym that I was going to. I was afraid that Grit was going to be too intense. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better trainers. They are very good at making sure your form is good, they try and make the classes fun and I love it when they do challenges and fun things like spirit week or trivia. They are truly there for you and want to see you succeed.

I can't say enough about the amazing community that Rachel and Rachael have created at Grit. Like many members, I came from another gym, searching for a place that felt more like family and less like a business transaction. Not only is Grit a fantastic gym with amazing trainers, but it has a wonderful community of people. I get so much support from the owners, trainers and members. Prior to Grit I hadn’t worked out in over 4 years, now I steadily make it a priority to go and I look forward to it. Joining GRIT has been a life-changing experience for me! I started about five months ago, and I haven't looked back since. GRIT is an amazing place! Easily deserves more than 5 stars. We work hard and play harder. The trainers truly make you feel like you’re the only person in the room even with the classes at capacity. You need help or have questions, the trainers AND GRIT Family are quick to help. I have been to competitor gyms, they have nothing on GRIT, there is just something very special about the gym and community. You can feel it! Always enjoyed working out but I was all over the place, no structure. Grit will guide you and give you all the tools needed to take the next step regardless of your fitness level. Its been a few weeks now and its fantastic, no regrets. Great trainers and environment. Stop making excuses, just sign up. You will be sore everyday, but that's the point.

I have been at Grit since day 1 and have utilized the personal trainer (Staples) for over a year before Grit opened. I have never felt so at home, so accepted, and so seen for who I am. The care that goes into planning the workouts and the thought into what muscle groups are being worked when is above and beyond anything I've ever experience. So insanely glad I found Grit! After leaving my previous gym that I loved for 8 years I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find something. I was wrong! Grit’s culture/community is so warm hearted and welcoming. It’s also so nice to find a gym that has intentional strength and HIIT/metcon’s. Such a good find for someone who doesn’t want 100% CrossFit and 100% Hiit. You will not regret joining this gym!!!!

100/10 would recommend checking out GRIT Strength and Functional fitness to see if its a great fit for you. The trainers are fantastic, extremely personable and warm, and truly care about your progress and goals. The atmosphere is very team oriented and reminds me of being a kid and being on a sports team, which wasn't something I knew I missed as an adult until joining GRIT. There are all different levels of fitness in every class and everyone roots for each other and not once have I ever felt intimidated or pushed to point of discomfort. Please do yourself a favor and try a class and see for yourself while deciding your next fitness adventure.

My wife Jenn and I joined GRIT a year ago and it has been Life Changing !!! The strength training is deliberate, challenging and extremely well trained for your growth and to help you achieve your goals. Cardio Training AKA GRITCONS are a phenomenal mix of Strength and Cardio training to push you as far as you can go! Rachel Staples is simply AMAZING! I recently completed a six week (one day per week) Weight Lifting Fundamentals course at GRIT. It was excellent. The class was small and the attention I received was really personal trainer level. I am now equipped to walk into any gym and lift weights with confidence and...correctly! During training we had a nutrition class which is proving to be very helpful. I highly recommend GRIT. I recently completed the 6 week Lifting Fundamentals program and highly recommend it for anyone who wants a small group, fun, interactive, supportive and judgment free experience. I am in my late 50s and have worked with dumb bell weights in group classes. I learned proper weight selection and technique. I also learned the basics of using a barbell. I now feel confident I can set up weight workouts on my own. BONUS was an open talk about nutrition and how to set nutrition goals. You will not be pressured to join their gym BUT you may want to after!!!

I joined GRIT 2 months ago, switching from my other gym because I needed nutritional help. My blood pressure and cholesterol were so high my doctor was talking to me about medication before the age of 40.
After 2 months of working with Rachel on the Nutrition program my energy is up, my workouts are stronger, my mood and focus are better and my cholesterol and blood pressure are back in normal range!
The holistic approach GRIT takes to your everyday health and well being is exactly what I needed and was looking for to get back on track. The program was easy to follow full of real food, and Rachel was in my corner the whole way answering all of my questions, and helped to keep everything in perspective. Let me start this off by saying that I am not a "gym rat". Although I have had memberships off and on over the years at my local rec center and a few other fitness places it was never something sustainable or that I really enjoyed. I'd jump on some piece of cardio equipment for several long miles and then wait in line for the weight machines to be free - SO BORING. Once it was my turn I'd rush through a few rounds (not sure if I was even doing it right) or if someone was judgingly watching me and what I was or wasn't doing. Six months ago I decided I needed to do something for myself and I joined GRIT, and I haven't looked back since! When I tell you this place feels like a family that's exactly what I mean. If you're looking for something different than what your used to or just to be a part of something great while bettering yourself and your health, this is it. The trainers are so knowledgeable and attentive to everyones fitness levels. They always have a modification for every workout/exercize from the beginners to the most advanced and they are always changing things up to keep you engaged and challenged. They always find a way to keep it fun all while pushing you to reach goals you never knew were attainable. But hands down the best part of GRIT is the other members who quickly felt like a family I never knew I was missing. If you're stuck in a fitness rut or just looking for something new come see what GRIT is all about...I promise you won't be disappointed! 💪
