So today I met with Brittany and let me tell you what. She is something special. Not only personable but knows what she is talking about. I've been a member for a long time but finally was showed around the whole building not just the 24/7 part. She is so great that I would take that tour with her anytime. When I moved to Harrisonburg in December, I researched nearly every gym in town. After 15 minutes at Harrisonburg 24/7 Family Fitness, I knew I had found my gym. After 7 months, the staff and trainers feel like family.

I work out 6 days a week…three FitZone classes and three days of weight training. The coaches have been instrumental in my training. They are knowledgeable, encouraging, and motivating. With their help and guidance, I’m stronger, leaner, faster, and in the best shape of my life.

They swindled me out of $90 with zero remorse. Their contract allows for predatory and exploitive practices. READ THE FINE PRINT! We signed up for a contract with this gym because it was 3 miles from home. Several months later (August) we ended up moving close to 30 mins away. I knew that wasn't an excuse to get out of the contract which is typical at most gyms. However I wasn't sure when contract was up. I called the gym in August to inquire about when it was up and what we needed to do to cancel. I was told our contract was up in November and to be sure to come in personally by November 30th to cancel. I set it in my Calender so I wouldn't forget since we didn't get out that way often. November 30th comes and I go to the gym to cancel. As we are signing the paper to cancel our membership I noticed it said our last payment was to be on Dec 1. When I caught it asked why we were getting charged the next day if we were canceling. I was told they required a 30 notice for canceling. We informed them that we were not told that when we called in August and we were only told to show up and that I wasn't willing to pay for another month. I told them that me calling in August should have been plenty of notice to which they replied it needed to be a WRITTEN notice. When I once again told them that I wasn't informed of this when I called she turned the computer screen around to show us a copy of our contract and said it was on there. Like I said read the fine print they will take any advantage of you they can.

That was my biggest gripe that motivated this review but to further inform those looking for a gym I will say a few more things.

First off, the staff was always friendly aside from the instance when we were canceling our membership.

We had a membership to the large nationwide chain gym in the area. We worked out at that gym 3-4 days a week reliably for over a year. They have really nice equipment but sometimes it got a little busy and it was further away than this gym.

One weekend after a particularly busy day at the national gym we decided to stop by this gym on the way home and check it out. We thought that if it was less busy and being it was only 5 mins from home the MUCH higher membership price would be worth it.

We had just left the busy national gym and when we got here it was chill, not what I'd call busy at all. Maybe 2 people on the freeweights and 2-3 on the machines. When we asked how busy it was on a 1-10 scale based on how it was at the moment we were told "this is average." We signed up.

We came in for our first workout a few days later. A weekday after work. We started on the treadmills in the movie room. As soon as I stepped on the treadmill I wondered If we'd made a mistake. The belt would stick as you planted your foot. I dunno if the belt needed lubed or if the machine was just worn out. My wife and I both tried a second treadmill with the same results.

When we finished on the treadmills and headed up ti the machine weights there were at least 4 times the amount of people on the weights than we were let to believe was the average. This was consistent throughout our workouts for the next few weeks. It was a bit disheartening and after about 6 weeks we had slowed in our visits and ended up moving shorty after.

Not sure if they offer a free trial but if they do I'd definitely take advantage of it before signing anything.

I’m Jae an ISSA Certified Trainer and I’ve been here at this gym around 5 months.Not employed here but There’s always plenty of space to workout, as well as a positive environment to do so. I’ve been to cheaper gyms but this one is more like a “you get what you pay for” It’s comfortable clean. I enjoy the CrossFit space. ITS NORMALLY not packed. They have daycare if you have children. There’s a cinema room where you can utilize the treadmill, elliptical, bike, etc., while watching the movie of the day. 24/7 Offers so much more! I suggest utilizing your 3 day trial and checking it out. In my opinion you won’t be sorry.

I appreciate this gym location. It's nearby where I live and work, yet located away from the overstimulated areas of the city. Staff are helpful in responding to all of my questions and concerns. When I'd begun a farming job and hadn't stretched in a couple of months, staff provided a few ideas that helped me to heal my inflamed joints within two days! The most attractive things about this gym is the natural lighting, the minimal television provision, the designated women's workout room, and the film screenings workout room. No matter when I walk in, the building is always clean---including the showers, restrooms, and locker room. This shows that my fellow gym members respect the place where they workout and the staff care for the atmosphere that we walk into. I feel relaxed and at ease in this environment. I'm happy with how affordable it is to get what I want out of my gym.

Their equipment is great but they charge way too much especially compared to other gyms in the area. They are also incredibly disorganized and do whatever they can to get more money out of their members. My wife signed up for a 6 month membership and when she goes to ensure its ending they tell her she signed up for a year. Ok fine let me just cancel it, no you have to show us mail of a new address outside of the area and give us $80 to cancel. We do this and they tell us then that we made the $80 payment too late and have to pay for another month. None of the employees told us the same information about the process and had no care in the world if we got what we needed or not. Plus half the people who use their first floor crossfit box area and equipment have no regard for the others in the gym. Poorly run company, poor gym community inside.

Edit: Their response is simply untrue. One hand does not speak to the other and they want to maintain their image rather than admit fault.

I have been a member for going on a year now. I generally fequent the Harrisonburg location. The staff is incredibly friendly. They greet you by name when you come in and also when you leave. I love that they have a ladies only area which comes in handy for those that are self consious doing certain exercises. The classes they offer are really great as well as all the coaches. Love this gym! So happy here! Everyone greets you and helps motivate you - not just the staff but the other members, too. The pricing is worth it. Love that the hot tub and sauna are in the locker room. Only thing it is missing is a swimming pool. Love that it is a Christian company! Everything is clean, neat, up to date and not old and dingy. Tanning is great. The workout classes are fun too! My personal trainer is awesome and so helpful/motivating but without seeming fake or overdoing the motivation. The childcare is not just someone watching your child, the lady who is in there really gets to know the kids and does crafts with them etc. I am very happy to be a member here and will continue to do so. I have been a paying member of this gym for approximatly 4 months....i also PERSONALLY pay for around 6-8 other members ...ive also PERSONALLY brought in another 3-4 members

Instead EVERY SINGLE WEEK we are nitpicked for everything...thhey have accused us of not putting equipment back wich was FALSE because we did...then the manager complains because we were bringing in guests on their "free guests" deal because they had to come upsatirs and tell me when my guests arrived (again....a member is single handedly paying his membership as well as 6-8 others, id think coming downstairs a couple times for his guests would be a VERY minor inconvenice, yet they acted like it was the worst thing on earth
Now they basically told me that they would need to come in each time before we leave and inspect our workout area to make sure its clean...wich again is OUTRAGEOUS and insulting
When i called in to discuss this the manager didnt apologize, didnt say "sorry you feel youre not being treated fairly, we appreciate you as a customer" none of that..
We all feel uncomfortable going there now
If this situation is remedied and addressed ill gladly come back and update this review, but until then i WOULD NOT reccomend this gym

Friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere. I havent taken part in the classes, tanning or child care but I notice plenty of regulars who seem content with these services. Gym has plenty of equipment, some old but still functional, with new additions replacing them if they become too broken. My only gripe would be some patrons not using proper etiquette or replacing weights/equipment, which is by no means a fault of the facility or staff.

The name of this gym should be "Harrisonburg 24/7 Adult Fitness". The tanning rooms feature provocative images that you would find in a Playboy magazine. I had asked for these posters to be moved to a position that would only be visible when inside the tanning room (a different wall, behind the door, there are lots of options to choose from). The GM, Brandon, unfortunately didn't care and the images seem to be important to the facility where they need to be seen by everyone. Very disturbing to find those vulgar photos in a fitness center who claim to be "family" fitness. Even more so, when the concern is brought up and is seen as a non-issue. Easy decision to cancel!

They have lots of equipment but it is mostly old. The hours of operation for those who don't have a 24 hour plan suck, they're not even open on Sundays! There are different plans, they're lowest plan you can only go during staff hours which as I said suck. The other plan is 24/7 but is not staffed and so therefore you can only use certain areas of the gym, the main area of the gym you cannot use when it is not staffed which kinda defeats the purpose of having a 24/7 gym!

I have been attending this gym for the past year now.

Their gym is always clean and well maintained. They have basically everything you need to have a solid workout. Their trainers and staff are great.

They only have three squat racks and one dead lift area, so when the gym is packed, good luck trying to use them.

Their 24/7 room is full of dumbbells, smith machines, a few other machines, and cardio equipment, so if you're trying to squat, bench press, or dead lift, you won't be able to do it.

The price is okay. Personally, I think it's a little high since most of their equipment is outdated and the gym isn't open on Sundays, which you would think they would be open since it's called 24/7.

Overall, it's an average gym to go to. Just make sure you go during their nonpeak hours.

Love the gym and the staff. Gym is always super clean. Been going for 5 years and have never switched gyms. Recently joined Fitzone at a great price. Love the support and community you get here. Looking forward to 2019.

I have never enjoyed going to the gym before finding Harrisonburg 24/7 Fitness but I have truly come to look forward to my workouts! There is a huge variety in equipment and classes and I usually see an employee walking around cleaning something every time I’m there. The coaches are so awesome and knowledgeable, and I have felt at home since day one! We love Ms. Melissa and the other amazing childcare providers... my shy daughter actually gets excited to go to the gym! Wholeheartedly recommend this place, and specifically the Fitzone classes!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here at the gym! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I take my two young children to childcare and they love going, which is actually rare for my daughter! They offer a lot of different Group X classes and other classes such as FitZone and EliteFit. As a stay at home mom, I enjoy getting in a great workout and socializing with many friends I have made at the gym! I highly recommend them!

This gym is amazing! It is super inclusive of all skill and ability levels. The coaches add options for members to reach individual goals they set. Everyone, members included, are encouraging and motivating! The staff are all invested in everyone and it’s just a great place to be! Staff seems to always be rude as hell. The prices also seem to be a bit odd. Access to gym and classes for 39.99 and it jumps to 49.99 with access to many different things that includes tanning. Also, the owner seems to place the blame on the individual who's had bad experiences instead taking the blame and/or offering some sort of help afterward. What kind of lunatic is that?

We love this gym. It really has something for everyone. Ladies only room, cinema cardio room, tanning, hot tub and sauna in locker rooms. Smoothie bar and child care and tons of classes. Customer service is always great!!

This gym is ok I guess but the equipment is old and there isn’t enough of it...the place usually feels pretty packed and you have to wait to use things a lot of the time. Also the contracts are ridiculous. I moved so I had to cancel my membership for which I was charged over $100. I can only blame myself for signing it, but I wouldn’t do it again. Overall not the worst, but there is much better for the same price.

Nice family friendly gym. Locker room for the women is rather small but nicely done and gets the job done. Three equipment is also on the older side but functional. They also have child watch while you workout. Parents get a pager and are notified when they are needed or the two hr time window is up.

DO NOT SIGN THE CONTRACT. I had a membership with these guys and i signed up with my debit card. 3 months into my membership my bank canceled my card for fraudulent activity out of state. I got a letter in the mail saying if i didnt pay a $180 bill then they will take me to court and garnish my wages. I wasnt even 30 days late. I had a 6 month membership and they charged me a yearly maintenance fee of $64.
