I started coming to Girya more than a year and a half ago. At the time, I was about 8 months postpartum with my daughter. I wanted to build muscle but didn't know where to start. I didn't even know what kettlebells were before I found Girya Garage online...I stumbled upon this place because I was looking for gyms I could walk to from my home. I feel so lucky that I found Girya Garage!

Will is an incredibly knowledgeable and patient coach. Group instruction is really small, and even though there's a range of experience in any given group, I've always felt welcome and encouraged, even as a total beginner. After a year and a half, I love the progress I've made, and coming to the gym is still something I look forward to every week. I cannot recommend Will or Girya Garage highly enough.

Great friendly, welcoming, down to earth environment with extremely knowledgeable and dedicated instruction! Will takes care to give instruction fitted to each individual even in the group classes. If you train here, you are basically getting a personal trainer, and you will really learn a lot about not just kettlebell training, but training and conditioning in general. I highly recommend!

If you're looking for a way to shake up your normal, drab workout routine, go visit Girya Garage. I find myself really looking forward to my workouts here which is not something I've ever been able to say. The personalized training really helps you learn the correct way to use kettlebells. I've been lifting weights and running regularly for a bit over a year, but have never been as sore as I was after my first few classes at Girya (in a good way, you can tell it's working). You'll get not only a full body workout, but also a great amount of cardio at the same time. Give it a shot, Will and Nic are amazing teachers.

Who needs big box gyms with soda machines in the lobby and lots of rules?! Girya Garage is the place to train in RVA! Developing strength through the use of Kettlebells and body weight exercises is their specialty, and they are living proof that it works. Nic and Will are skilled at teaching proper movement, while keeping it fun. If you put in the work, you will see results…check them out!
