I went in to the Lynchburg location and asked them to cancel my membership. The high school aged girl and the manager(owner?) implied that they would cancel it after one more month. Took them at their word. 5 months later i received a bill from a collections agency. Moral of the story: just because they’re a local hometown franchise doesn’t mean they’re any less scum bags than national franchises like Golds and Planet Fitness. Read every damn letter of the contract before you sign up.

Also I can confirm other reviews that the equipment is poorley maintained. Weights and machines are often broken and rusted. Sanitary wipes and the water tank is often empty.

Kinetix Forest is an absolutely outstanding fitness facility! I joined approximately two weeks ago and I have never been happier with a gym. They have 24 hour access; properly cool temps; clean, comfortable environment; good equipment; pleasant members.
Miss Sidney’s (Staff) kindness, and pleasant demeanor, and helpful knowledge is most assuredly Kinetix most valuable asset. She is the face of the Forest location and her positive attitude is any potential members first impression.. and she is an absolute delight!! I am so very pleased and I certainly recommend Kinetix Forest. They have earned my praise and appreciation!

Prior to coming I tried to call three different times to talk to someone, my phone call was never answered. When I did show up and walked to the front doors they were locked. I’m not sure if you need a membership card to come in, but it doesn’t seem conducive to good business practice is to lock the doors on potential customers. When I finally was let in by another customer, I waited at the front desk for several minutes and was never approached by a staff member. I walked around the building and no one asked if I needed any help. I could’ve just used the equipment and walked out without paying…The upkeep of the place seemed subpar. I wound up just leaving. Kind of glad that no one took my money.

I love this gym. Small but great I'm there 4-5 times weekly. There's isn't staff there though 24/7.. I wish there was and I wish they offered a personal trainer at this location 😕

Poor excuse for a gym. I don’t think anybody has fixed anything or repaired anything in this gym for years. There’s never anyone here to run maintenance on the facility. Carpets are torn up, multiple machines are broken and have been forvever, dumbbells have covers ripped off of them, there’s dust all over the place. I mean seriously, does the owner of this facility just not care? It’s rather embarrassing…oh and from time to time there’s NO WATER due to their delivery system. Such a shame because this gym is in such a prime location, but the facility itself is embarrassing and give anything to see someone fix this place up.

Super friendly staff and very reasonable rates. I was worried that I wouldn't find a gym that offered me the 24hr flexibility that my old gym did, but I feel right at home at Kinetix already.

Nice smaller atmosphere to workout in not having to wait or fight over equipment. Some of the equipment itself is a little older but other than that a great experience.
