Used to be a good gym, now it's just overcrowded with these "disco" lights that will give you a straight headache. The air vents are covered in mold. Everyone has a staring problem with no respect for personal space.

LOVE THIS GYM!!! I was in Lynchburg VA for a week or so for a school trip and found this gym. No matter if you’re a cardio bunny, powerlifter or bodybuilder, this is the perfect place for you. All of the other gyms here are not well kept or sketchy, but this gym is top notch. Some of the machines are older and some areas have holes in the walls, but all and all it’s great gym, especially if you are a serious lifter. It has machines that are hard to find and two floors. The variety of equipment is awesome, there is SO much variety here. Definitely give it a visit if you are in the area, it’s a big gym and everyone is so kind. The staff is attentive and professional, love to see it.

I love this gym! They have plenty of weights and racks where no area is ever too crowded to work out. This gym has everything that you could want a great functional fitness area, kettle bells, boxing area, and lots of dumbbells and racks and machines. My personal favorite is the antique style York dumbbells that go all the way up to 150 pounds. They are always fun to lift.

Kinetix is a great place to lift and pursue your fitness goals. The staff, especially the female staff, put up with a lot from the male goers of the gym and always remain professional. Those of you who enjoy working out but don’t know what to do, I highly recommend this gym. The staff are all friendly and provide the best costumer service. Their machines work really well, and there are plenty of machines to use when working out a specific area; such as upper body, lower body, cardio, etc.

This gym is my go to get that good workout in. They even have designated areas for specific workouts. Just remember, consistency is key.

Horribly outdated gym. They increased their membership from 37.99 to 42.99 and never provided me a written notice of that. Canceled the membership and now have a $269 collection I have to pay before it hits my credit. Never use this gym or any that use Peak Payments. I’m pretty sure not notifying me on the price increase is some breach of contract, so I will be getting my $269 back from this

We’ve been coming to Kinetix for years now as day pass visitors. Usually at thanksgiving or Christmas. This visit we are just here for a random visit with the in laws.

Run run run!!! This place is a joke. All about money now. They increased the bill to try and keep up with these newer gyms nearby. I assume they are losing members to 24/7 and Ellite Fitness. They are trying to make me pay a cancelation bill of 168.00 after I told the front desk that I will no longer be a member at the gym. The equipment is old and outdated and hardly works. If you want to attend a nice modern gym , with great customer service and not gonna break your pockets, then stay away from kenitix.

Great equipment and the workers are respectful and courteous but management could treat longtime customers a bit better I think. My membership price increased after 2 years of loyalty and I was forced to pay for an extra month to cancel.

If you cancel make sure to give them 30 days or theyll charge you for not only the month you cancelled but an additional FULL month. They are unable to prorate the charge unlike any other institution.
Also for the money there are better gyms in the immediate area.

I have gone to Kinetix for a long time and worked there as well at different times but I have to say I am just so pleased having a gym that I feel so confident inviting anybody to come visit. I know for a fact they won’t be disappointed in the equipment. I know for a fact the staff are friendly helpful and go out of the way to make sure every guest has everything they need. I’m just really proud of them and thankful for them, and wanted to put it in writing for other people to read so they know they’ve got an awesome fitness option in Lynchburg Virginia!!! Also shout out to the yoga stretch class with Ivy Johnson on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30. It has been so helpful in so many ways! If you do strictly weightlifting it’s definitely advisable to vary your routine for optimal spinal health, so check this class out if you haven’t.

Easily the best gym I’ve been to. The monthly cost is affordable, the premises is clean, and there is a vast array of training equipment.

Features include:
Dumbbells up to 150#

Plenty of deadlift, bench, and squat equipment in a designated powerlifting room

A wide variety of kettlebells and bumper plates in an entire room of CrossFit style equipment including hammers, tires, battle ropes, and multiple CrossFit racks.

A huge main floor with multiple cable complexes, two sets of dumbbells up to 90# in this room, multiple types and a large quantity of benches, and plenty of cardio machines.

They have some classes too, but I have never been.

While I have encountered some older equipment like other reviewers mentioned, I have seen the gym steadily replacing and upgrading literally everything in the six months I have been coming.

Kinetix is a safe place for people of all experience levels. It has a peaceful and kind culture even amongst the gym goers themselves. You can’t go wrong coming here, and the fact that it is 24/7 is the icing on the cake.

Was in town on business... Dumbells have concave handles and highly limit movements, internet is trash can't listen to my music have to use data. Staff was unfriendly. Old cardio equipment and outdated TV system. Several pieces of equipment need repaired.

Plus notes, like the power lift room and the upstairs cross fit rooms. Lots of different equipment, mostly outdated, visible by obvious wear and tear tho.

I’ve been going here for a couple of years. The staff is amazing, and the gym is for the most part very versatile and well equipped. It gets very crowded in the evening - but what gym doesn’t? I do wish they had monkey bars, more boxing bags, maybe some turf with sleds, etc. They do have a CrossFit lounge where you can do athletic style training, I just think it could be improved upon if the space were better capitalized. I’ve also gone to some other gyms that - for the same cost per month - had indoor tracks and lap pools but there’s really just no room. A girl can dream right 😂

I’m not too sure if I’ll join this gym we’ll see what my future experiences are like. I was hung up on and they did not take any accountability for it or apologize then their tone of voice was a put off. I don’t know if they were having a bad day but I was kind and just had a few questions. When I’m doing business with someone/ a company, I expect top rated professionalism. I just did not get that idea on first impression!

I joined Kinetix in 2017 after I got out of the Army, I was a daily member. Earlier this year, I had to get a new debit card and forgot to update my payment info with the gym. My payments didn’t go through because of the new card and Kinetix never notified me that my payment didn’t go through. They tried for two months to take payment off the old card and still never notified me. I was unaware of the issue until I got a call from a debt collection agency telling me that I owe over $150 and if I don’t pay it then it will hit my credit. They failed to communicate with me and I could have easily paid the bill if they would have called. As much as I love the other members of the gym, I’ll never lift here again.

Excellent gym! They have a weight room, and there's always access to pretty much any machine or weight you could need. (When I go at 6 am, that is.) The pricing is fair, and the gym is 24 hours. I have recommended it to friends, and will continue to! Also, the one time it was closed due to power being out, I was allowed to go to the Forest location for no additional charge! Nice workers as well!

The gym is okay at the Forest Location, I didn't sign up for both locations so I can't speak for the Fort Ave location. They have decent equipment and a lot of it, its just cramped. The staff is nice but doesn't seem to care to be there, not to mention you have to pry the information from them about your contract when signing up. The only information I received about gym rules/ operations was what I directly asked them about. My biggest complaint isn't about the gym or management but the people that use the gym. From what I've seen only about 1 in 4 people actually wipe any equipment off after they use it and there are 2 buckets of wipes easily available. People also leave loose weights and other equipment laying around, out of place, and often in front of other equipment. Its not unusual during busier times for people to stand in a group talking while blocking 3 pieces of equipment that you may need to use. I'm not saying the gym needs a ton of rules but promoting a culture of common decency and cleanliness would be nice. The equipment seems clean most days but I wipe everything off before and after I use it for reasons stated above. If there were another option available close by, I would try there...

This is an ok gym but be careful and read the fine print on your contract. I moved to PA in 2017 and they continuously charged me because of an automatic renewal after my first contract, now I’m being charge $2600 and I haven’t been to the gym in over two years.

Pros: I the gym's equipment is sufficient for powerlifting and weightlifting. There is plenty of cardio equipment that you won't have to wait for one to open up.
Cons: My overall expression of the senior staff members is that they have shown to be untrustworthy and greedy when it comes down to money. They have a military discount and when I found out about it after my contract I ask if it could still be possible to receive that discount. He said he could revise it if I came back another afternoon. Well a few days later l when to that same person to remain him of the conversation and he then stated it was too late to do anything about it. So I given them the benefit of a doubt for that incident.
One of the selling points they told me when I signed up, was that I asked if there would be boxing/fitness classes and they said it going to be set up for the members. Those sessions never occur and I shrug my shoulders again about the situation.
At the end of my contract I ask if they would terminate my membership before a certain day so I don't get charge a month that I couldn't use. Well they didn't do that for me and charged me that extra month even through I told them I wasn't going to be in town any more and I was well over my yearly contract anyway.

This could all just be negligence but they haven't shown me the effort to work with me even through I was a patron for year.

I love Kinetix. To me it is the perfect gym in Lynchburg. It has olympic weight bars, which is important to me as a former college athlete, and it also has classes, and 24/7 access. I love all these features. My favorite class has been Body Pump! Also, I love that it has childcare, because a lot of my friends who join have children and this is a must. Finally, I love that I feel like a part of a family there. The staff are so friendly and inviting, and I am so thankful for the relationships I've built there. My husband and I have been going for over two years, and we love the spouse membership deal as well!

Untrustworthy management. When signed up, I was told that if I referred someone, I would recieve a free month or a free session with a personal trainer. A few months later I did refer someone but they refused to give me a free month saying that they had stopped doing that 2 years prior.
Also, when I canceled our membership in writing(the way they told me too) they kept charging me for 2 months and refused to give my money back.

The child care is an awesome feature and they're very friendly, but I'm always a little weary leaving my children there when there is only one or two people watching a bunch of kids and are completely out of ratio. The equipment is to my liking. However the customer service is horrible. It's borderline harassment from their staff. Just makes my blood pressure rise that my wife and guests are talked down to by their so called trainer named Ezra. Luckily my wife recorded the audio. After listening to the recording, it's clear that they have a distaste towards potential enrollees and lack of respect for members. It's unforgivable behavior.

Just a heads up if you sign up for professional training WATCH your bank account TIFFANY will with draw the money when ever SHE feels like it. She will forget to charge you some weeks then double your payment the next week and not even tell you. I would NOT give them you debit/credit card information! PAY THEM CASH FOR TRAINING. Even when you sign the paper saying take it out on this day every week TIFFANY will charge you WHEN ever and HOW ever she likes!! Even when you confront her she will say "Oh I'm sorry" then she will DO IT AGAIN even is she over draws your account TIFFANY DOES NOT CARE!! Otherwise I LOVE the gym itself and the trainers are EXCELLENT!! So just because of TIFFANY and her dis honest doings I will rate the gym 2 stars!!!
