Donโt bother - you can never get a court at this place and forget about playing in the club teams. Very political. Snobby atmosphere. Not worth your time.

Would give zero stars if I could. Subpar, outdated facilities and gross locker rooms. We tried numerous times to cancel our membership, eventually connecting by phone with an employee who confirmed the cancellation. The club nevertheless continued to charge us for months and, when presented with this information and explanation, refused to refund the post-cancellation charges, claiming they were contractually โunableโ to issue a refund. ๐ค

If you're thinking of joining you should let a member know. You will pay less dues and the member will pay less dues for referring you. I have to imagine that must be how most of these people are members. Because I don't see how it is worth it if you pay the full dues every month. It needs a serious remodel to actually be worth the full price. It looks like it was last renovated in the 80's with an era of a 70's glits and glam. Reminds me of a nursing home.
Maybe it is a status thing. And I am too poor.

Interesting & unique 70's architecture featuring translucent glass to view the basement level swimming pool from multiple angles / levels of the health club.
+solid steam room / dry sauna
Love these "old school" sorta clubs but this one needs to make an effort at recruiting younger generations otherwise risk eventually becoming obsolete.

Sadly, this place does not even deserve one star for several reasons:
1. Club is old and dated and badly in need of serious updates. The stained brown carpets definitely need to be replaced for health concerns. The bathrooms and locker area are absolutely disgusting. The AC constantly breaks down and it gets really hot specially in the downstairs courts, in contrast the heat routinely blasts making it uncomfortable to play tennis.
2. Worse than the physical aspect of this club, is the culture that exists:
Staff are poorly trained and rude. We were routinely not greeted by certain staff when we walked into the club and one even would turn her back when I walked in making me feel completely unwelcome. Whenever you need to get a drink, you have to ask one of the staff to retrieve a key to open the refrigerator that is locked! One time, I stood in front of the front desk staff while he stayed on the phone for a very inappropriately long time without once asking what I needed and he later explained that he could not put the person on hold because it was the owner! That sums up the culture of the club. The owner who does not care about the members.
3. Do not even think about raising concerns about anything, because they just terminate your membership. They terminated our membership over the phone by the tennis pro. When I asked why, he said it came from the high above, meaning the owner. The owner never once bothered to get to know us, let alone hear our concerns. When I asked why, the tennis pro, said โbecause I was not happy there anyway and I was complaining about the AC and other things.โ What really happened was, I dared to ask very nicely of the people playing next to us to keep their voices down because they were being routinely disruptive to our game, screaming and loudly chatting every week. Next thing, I get terminated without anyone even apologizing, let alone a due process or procedure. This is after almost three years of not only being a member, but actively participating in tennis tournaments and actively booking courts to recruit and invite others to participate.
4. Very unprofessional behavior and poor management. It is such a shame and so appalling how they treat people.

There are better and larger facilities in the area, and there appears to be favoritism with white members and their kids. Hoping this issue is solved but until then I will be going elsewhere.

We have been members for a while and would highly recommend this club as a wonderful facility for tennis, squash, swimming and general gym facilities. Very friendly staff, management. I saw some of the posts and felt the need to write something since our experience with kids tennis/squash/swimming has been wonderful with dedicated, fun instructors that teach appropriately to age.

I had driven past this fitness club several times in the past, and I had the opportunity today to go and check it out. I wanted to see what it was all about, and when I arrived there were not that many people at all inside. I was greeted by Nancy, and she offered to show me around the club. We started in the gym of which there are two levels. The upper level is concentrated in cardiovascular type of excersizes and I counted at least 9 treadmills as well as, several other machines. We then walked downstairs to where the pool and saunas were located. There was a class going in at the time, but it definitely appeared that the pool is big enough for me.interestingly, she told me that this is the only pool that has actual salt water, as opposed to fresh water. This is beneficial for the skin I believe. The lower part of the gym has the more traditional work-out machines, although I didn't see any free weights. The place also has a full service restaurant that members must participate in on a monthly basis. The restaurant has most everything, including much needed water and energy drinks. Nancy was kind enough to provide me with a guest pass, and I will be sure to use this soon to get some work in for !y body!

Have been a long time member of this club since it is hard to find a health club in the McLean area. The service has gone down greatly (especially since COVID) and cut corners everywhere. It relies more and more on public classes to bring in revenue, however together with a lot of traffic of non-members. But its members are getting less in value for their overpriced membership. Young (part-time) guys and the janitor workers who staff the front desk, gym, and swimming pool are mostly friendly, although many of them are inexperienced (and overworked). The management is getting worse and rude to the members (except for those grandfather ones knowing the owner). A little sad but we are seriously considering cancelling our membership.

2 1/2 is most accurate but sadly it is not an option on google.
After 15 years I have a lot of advice for people seeking to join...
4.5 stars for tennis, squash, allowing middle schoolers and high school students to use equipment, and location for those in Langley/McLean and MRHC is great for the elderly and those interested in classes designed for octogenarians +. Those under 60 feel very very young and have no programming.
1.5 to 2 stars for food, price, and staff esp the groups that congregate at the front desk in 2's and 4's while spray bottles run empty and equipment wipe down go undone. The value isn't there at MRHC unless you play racquets sports, haver a student athlete, or are intimidated by young athletes and rigorous exercise.
I will not be prepaying for a year in December 2021, and further expect to end membership early next year once I am back in the office full time - every health club in the greater DC area is cheaper per month so I will have a few months to pick between Equinox and others.
But if management wants to bring value in line with costs there are 2 approaches 1. reduce staff, end food service, and reduce price OR 2. keep price premium and have staff working (cleaning, fixing, cooking) instead of jawboning at the front desk and include food hours on weekends and before in the morning or in the evening M-F (most working people are busy working late morning to late afternoon ).

We joined here recently to have an outlet during COVID lockdowns - what a blessing itโs been.
The club is quite large and now, quite empty.
They have everything you would imagine from Aerobics to Zumba; to include spin, yoga & Pilates classes; and cardio machines, weights and everything else. Also a lap pool.
The entire place, but especially the locker rooms are nice and clean!
The air conditioned tennis courts are always in use, and yet, Iโve never heard anyone complain that they couldnโt get a court.
Squash is also avail and quite popular.
Lastly, they have a small bar and dining area... I thought, who joins a gym to go eat and drink? Well that was until I was running late and grabbed a salad there - WOW! Really tasty Greek salad w grilled salmon - an absolute surprise hit!
If youโre looking for positive people and and outlet for your some pent up COVID energy, stop in and give Mclean Health and Racquet a try! They are very reasonable and donโt require any contracts or annual dues.

For Elite Massage at McLean Sport and Health
I am recommending Patricia Wright, a licensed massage therapist who works at McLean Sport and Health Club, in McLean, VA. She has a well-developed integrated style for massage therapy... and it begins with LISTENING to the client. As a professional she is interested first and foremost in ME, her client, my comfort in the facility and her ability to listen and address my concerns. She is attentive to my words and to my muscles. She works with me not "on" me. Thank you, Patricia

Only thing I don't like about this place is that the restaurant stopped selling frappuccinos, but of course I'm not going to take a star off for that. I take tennis lessons at this place with Casey and he is the best teacher for tennis. Not only is he good a teaching but also funny and tells us stories that may of may not be true about his adventures in life but they are funny.

I've had a terrible experience with their front office staff and I feel the need to share it. I called back in February to put my membership on hold after some health problems in the family and the impending birth of a newborn. Whoever I talked to said they would handle it for me and it appears they did not. I tried resolving the issue through email several times but no one there would listen to the fact that I called to notify them. I'm now out $400 for months I never used. I tried to call to see if we could resolve it but they were rude and unwilling to see my side. Bad business practices! Avoid this place - there are better gyms in the area!

Great variety of workout classes; I always attend Michael's classes as he's always cheerful and gives several options depending on one's age, condition and ability, which is not always the case with other instructors. Sri's basic yoga class is great for mind/body. The restaurant is over-priced.

Great place to get in some workouts. Have especially benefitted from and enjoyed the fitness classes. Iโve been a member of the club for about 18 months and I couldnโt be happier. From the day I met with Morgan (the wonderful and very helpful woman working in their membership department) I felt right at home. The best part of this club is itโs fantastic childcare staff, totercise program, and youth tennis staff. Theyโre all so patient and kind and have given me a home away from home where I can work out, get a little work done, and relax all in the same place! Megan (who runs the childcare programs) and Danelle (who runs totercise) deserve to be recognized by name. Theyโre why we keep renewing our membership month after month continue to choose The McLean Racquet Club over other gyms in the area. Now that my kids are old enough for tennis lessons, we are getting to know Casey and Kristina and could not be more happy with the attention Nd care theyโre given by the two of them in their weekly group tennis lesson. This club is an absolute GEM in McLean!

To anyone new to the area or considering joining a gym, I'd highly recommend the McLean Raquet and Health Club. The Club offers many aerobic classes to choose from; an aquatics indoor salt water pool, tennis teams or lessons, personal trainers and state of the art equipment. Personally, I chose the McLean Raquet & Health Club for the great care they offer my two young children. The nature of typical gym daycare is short intervals of drop-off/pick-up with little personalized interaction and a revolving personnel. This is Not the case with The McLean Raquet Club. The seasoned, qualified and experienced staff has remained the same for years, which says a lot about the Club. We are on a first-name basis with all of the staff whom are professional and genuinely care about the children. My kids eyes light up when they see the gym daycare teachers and ask to go to the gym on weekends too ! Although, we usually stick to weekdays . The Club also offers a year-round Totercise program. My 3 year old has so much fun and loves the classes. We also take advantage of the Private and Mom & Me swim classes. Sometimes I feel a little lost among the 5.8 million people living in the Washington DC metro area . But the MRHC gives us that small town feel. We've met some wonderful people here and the staff has only ever been professional, courteous and accommodating.
