I absolutely love how CLEAN, and aesthetically pleasing midtown yoga is. Not to mention the staff is amazing and so patient with new timers! My highly recommended classes are “my strength” with Mackenzie & any “hot flow” class with Emily, Beth, or Maya! I’ve been to multiple yoga classes but nothing compares to the experience at midtown yoga! 🧘♀️❤️

Update: I’ve been loving Midtown so much lately, the more I’ve committed to coming. NICOLE’S 6AM IS A STAPLE. The flow + the playlist is just perfection every time. She really gets it!!
The themed classes have also been on point! Last week when I saw Bad Bunny on the schedule I signed up so fast.
Emily P taught the BB class and her classes are always challenging and dynamic. This one is in my top — the Bad Bunny playlist + the moves + EMILYYYYYY + weights = a killer strength workout. I really enjoyed it — core memory unlocked for sure. 🥹🤍🌸
Personally, I really enjoy when the music is carefully curated to match the flow. I believe adding the type of music we may expect in an instructors flow in the class description or bios would be helpful when booking classes! Even if it’s general overview.
Older review:
Sharing my two favorite classes — hot flow with Nicole + strength with Mackenzie. Both instructors have great energy and their playlist is always on point!!
Extra points for Mackenzie for playing Bad Bunny this morning! Truly made my day + class was challenging! 🥹🤍

Love Midtown and all of the instructors! The energy here is always warm and welcoming, and all of the ladies bring something special to their classes.
Nicole and Megan’s classes have been my favorites — their flow, pacing, playlists and vibe always strikes a nice balance between movement and mindfulness.
Dawn has a calm, grounding vibe, and Cassidy’s unwind class is the perfect low-key reset. If you're into a dynamic, energetic style, Jess and Emily are the go-tos for solid power flow options that definitely bring the heat.
Whether you're new to yoga/hot yoga or a seasoned yogi, it’s a thoughtful, well-rounded space with something for everyone.

If you’re looking for traditional yoga this place is NOT for you. It is more like a boot camp with some yoga poses thrown in. Loud Pop music, loud talking in the studio before and after class. I had high hopes and quickly realized this was not the traditional tantric, calming, centering yoga I am used to. What a shame. Also the shower curtains had mold on them could use a change.

In a very short period of time, Midtown has become my “2nd home.” Everything they have to offer from their nicely structured classes, to the welcoming and clean environment, to their amazing instructors (Emily, Mackenzie, & Maya who I’ve been instructed by) makes MY a place that I am always eager to go back to!
Not only are the instructors amazing but the ladies at the front desk are always so welcoming as well. Thank you Midtown and team for creating such an amazing space. 💕

This is the absolute best hot yoga studio! From weighted strength classes, to calming unwind classes - they have a class for everyone! I always feel welcomed because the instructors bring an inclusive and motivating environment for all participants. The studio is also very clean and well-maintained. Some of my favorite instructors include Mackenzie and Jessica, but you really can't go wrong with anyone at this studio!

I absolutely love this studio! The staff and instructors are so genuine and friendly, making it such a welcoming environment and place to form community. I love the class offerings and how there are so many fantastic teachers to learn from. Midtown has allowed me to fall in love with yoga, and I’ve seen so many benefits of practicing in my daily life. Genuinely miss the studio and yoga anytime I’m away for a few days so I know I’ve found a home at Midtown.

Joining Midtown Yoga has been such a positive experience for me. The studio has such a great variety of types of yoga classes, making it a accessible for all individuals regardless of their level of expertise. The studio itself offers such a welcoming, and energetic environment which sometimes is hard to find when it comes to yoga studios.
I am someone who likes to take classes that involve HIIT/strenght/cardio components - if you are like me, take Mackenzie's MY Strength class!! She incorporates basic yoga movements with small weights to elevate the entire experience - I leave this class DRENCHED and feeling like I could tackle anything. It has truly changed the game for me.

MY is my favorite hot yoga studio in Richmond. With creative flows and great music, coming to the studio is the best part of my day. The teachers and staff are so friendly. The led light change colors to indicate the intensity of the flow. And every class ends with a cool lavender towel. The overall experience is wonderful.

I've been attending Midtown Yoga classes since early December 2024 and have really enjoyed my time there!
Pros:
~ Clean space: Their space is clean and bright. The space transitions between lively and calming at just the right times.
~ Friendly and helpful staff: All the folks I have interacted with at MY have been wonderful. I have particularly enjoyed Emily P's classes. Alex's classes are unique and challenging!
~ Generous extras: MY has the details taken care of! They provide towels for during classes and for showering, cool lavender towels at the end of classes, deodorants and refreshing toiletries for after class, hair ties in the bathrooms, and blocks and mats for those who don't have one. The effort in these details is really where MY shines!!
~ On-Par Pricing and Policies: Compared to similar studios in the area, MY is on-par or slightly cheaper in price. I have found their studio policies to also be on-par or slightly more generous than other local studios. Particularly thinking about:
>>>>> Cancellation window: you have an 8 hour cancellation window, which is longer than others I have experienced, but the fee for cancelling within this window is much smaller, so it balances out
>>>>> Leaving the Hot Studio: I have seen other hot yoga studios require participants to remain within the room unless having a medical emergency. I appreciate that this is not a requirement at MY as I have found it can lead to people pushing themselves beyond what is safe.
>>>>> After-Class Time: I have also seen other studios set a time limit for how long you can remain in the building after a class has ended. I also appreciate that this is not the case at MY. I have never felt rushed to collect my belongings or shower. While I am conscious to not overstay my welcome, I am glad I can take a moment to collect myself before leaving the studio.
Cons:
~ Limited offerings and limited time: (-0.75 stars)
>>>>> Offerings: Of the six classes listed on the website, only two are offered frequently: MY Strength and MY Hot Flow. Both classes are GREAT, but I would love more opportunity to try the other offerings. MY Core Flow and MY Unwind seem to be offered once per week, but if you are unable to make it at that particular time, you are unable to take this class.
>>>>> Time: The studio is open from 6am-8pm on most weekdays. That being said, there is usually only one evening class outside of the traditional working hours of 9-5 that usually begins at 5:45. This class is almost always fully booked, so for those who work traditional hours and prefer working out in the evening, it can be hard to get to class.
~ Small space with lots of interest: (-0.25 stars)
It seems people in Richmond are really taking a liking to MY because the space has been BOOMING recently. While I am happy to see it, it also means that it has been really difficult to get a class without signing up far in advance. This popularity coupled with the limited class offerings and class timing makes it extra difficult to get the classes you'd like. I expect that this will die down some as we shift into warmer weather months, but for those paying for unlimited memberships in the colder months, this can get a little frustrating. Class signups aside, the popularity also means that the physical space is tight. Full classes where you are close to your neighbor are common and the pre- and post-class hustle in the common areas (bathroom, locker area, atrium) can make it difficult to find any place to stand where you aren't in the way.
I would love to also take this opportunity to echo another reviewer's comment. MY team, if you're ever open to expanding, Church Hill could use a hot yoga studio ;)
Looking forward to continuing my hot yoga journey at MY and am hopeful that the schedule might be expanded in the near future <3

I have tried a handful of yoga studios in Richmond, but Midtown Yoga has been my absolute favorite! I used to be someone who would incorporate yoga 4x/mo, but I’ve opted for the unlimited membership at MY because I enjoy the classes so much and I think the price is fair for the quality you are getting.
Parking is free and available in front of the studio or inside the Publix parking deck. The space is warm and inviting the moment you enter and the staff are always so friendly to check you in. The lobby is very clean and there are lockers present for you to tuck away your personal items. I enjoy the complimentary towel service and the bathrooms are well-kept.
Now onto the best part - the studio! I really enjoy the temperature of class and the low lights in the room really allows you to relax and focus on your practice. I also appreciate how everyone is respectful and quietly settling into their flow as they walk in. This isn’t a class where there’s chatter and side conversation before/after class, which I prefer. And of course, I always look forward to the cold lavender towel to unwind at the end of class!
My only suggestion to the studio is to have some kind of system in place to inform attendees to best utilize the space if a class is highly booked. Letting attendees know during check-in to set their mat up close to one another can prevent people from having to shift an entire row to squeeze in other folks joining in the beginning of class.
My favorite instructors are Nicole and Jessica. Their classes are challenging, yet soothing, and their playlists alone will have you ready to book your next class. MY has plenty of classes to offer whether you are a seasoned yogi or a complete beginner!
I can’t recommend this studio enough. Please give it a try if you can!

I went to a MY strength class yesterday and, not putting this lightly — MINDBLOWING!!! Everything from the structure of the class, to the lighting, to the ICONIC lavender towels took my experience from great to absolutely fantastic. For the traditional yogis out there, I highly suggest the HOT flow classes. The mind body connection I felt in HOT flow helped me reconnect with my inner child and I straight up almost started weeping I was so grateful. These instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and truly care about the yoga experience of every single person attending their classes. 10000/10 would come again, I actually just booked another sesh on Monday ;)
