I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the way MyGym has responded to my daughter’s injury, which occurred due to your teacher’s negligence. The tone of your response below has felt dismissive and passive-aggressive, and I believe it’s important to clarify a few things:

Follow-up After Cancellation
You asked why I returned to MyGym three times after canceling my membership. The answer is simple: you said you wanted to speak with me. I assumed this meant you intended to offer an apology or at least address the issue directly.

However, on the first visit—at the time we had agreed upon—I was told by the Associate Director of the McLean location that “Angela is at a different site and can’t meet today.” She then left, and her demeanor was cold and unapproachable. There was no attempt to communicate or apologize.

You said below "As mentioned earlier we have been trying and trying to talk to you about this incident and about this review. " You also said I took my daughter back to a few lessons after the incidence. You know MyGym has visibility of my daughter's lesson schedule with you, and you could easily have spoken to me in person during any of these lessons. You didn't. You are lying about you are trying to talk to me. I actually told my husband if any of your staff apologize to me in 2 weeks, I would take the review down. Instead, I received a text from Angela 3 weeks later expressing disappointment in my review—rather than concern for my daughter or acknowledgment of the incident.

Regarding the Injury
Your response seems to suggest I fabricated my daughter’s chest injury, which is both offensive and deeply troubling. The instructor involved in the incident was male. As a parent, I would never lift my daughter's shirt in public. I only discovered the bruising later that evening during her bath, which is when I reported it to you.

I have not demanded financial compensation or pursued any legal action. All I’ve asked for is a simple, sincere apology—something your team continues to withhold while repeatedly denying the legitimacy of the injury. Implying a mother would make up harm to her child is not only insulting, but it also reveals more about your own values than mine.

Regarding My Previous 5-Star Review
You questioned why I left a 5-star review prior to this incident. As you are fully aware, you were offering children a small stuffed monkey at the end of class if their parents submitted a 5-star review. I have text message evidence of this practice.

What options did parents really have in that moment? Watch their child be excluded from a small reward in front of peers, or comply? That approach put pressure on families and calls into question the authenticity of your online ratings.

Initial post:
During a preschool class, my daughter was lying in the ball pit with little coverage when a boy climbed the wooden tower above her and prepared to jump. A male teacher stood nearby, facing both children, and did nothing to stop it—even though it happened right in front of him. The boy jumped and landed directly on my daughter's chest, causing bruising near her ribs that we noticed later that night.

I rushed over to check on her, but before she could answer, the teacher coldly said, “She’s fine,” and brushed it off. After class, I spoke with a female teacher to express my concern about the male teacher’s inaction and lack of empathy. Her only response was “OK.”

I understand accidents happen—kids are active and still learning boundaries. But what was most disappointing wasn’t the accident itself; it was how both teachers failed to prevent it and showed no concern or apology afterward—not from them, not from the other child, not even the parents.

We’ve been part of MyGym for years, but this isn't the first time our daughter has been hurt due to a lack of supervision. If MyGym can’t properly train staff to manage safety and respond to incidents with care, then it's no longer a place we can trust.

We absolutely love taking our little one to My Gym. The teachers are fantastic and our kiddo always has the best time! We also hosted our little ones birthday party here and it was a huge success. I've been taking my daughter to this MyGym since she was 10 months old, and she has transformed from a baby who wasn't walking into a boisterous preschooler who now races around and climbs everything. We both love the gym, the facilities, and the teachers and have enjoyed sharing the experience of my daughter growing and changing with the different classes. At all ages and stages of her MyGym membership, I have felt that my daughter has grown, been encouraged, and had a great time at MyGym! I highly recommend.

My wife found this place when we relocated to downtown, McLean.

We've been fortunate to have wonderful experiences since our son came into our lives.

The classes are done very well, and we've enjoyed each lead teacher at every class. I'd have to say, my son's favorite teacher is Ms. Ali, and we are very lucky that she takes the time to teach him new skills at every adventure (it's their special stations they set up for kids).

Turtle time is our favorite, since it gives our son a chance to interact with other kids and their teachers. His favorite part is the clean up song.

Seeing a negative post below mine, I really wanted to bring back the positivity that My Gym offers families, especially since these young professionals are trying to help our children develop into learning and adapting new skills into their lives everyday.

The staff and facilities here are amazing. My kiddo has been attending classes for about half a year and I’m always impressed with how amazing the staff is. They’re attentive, thoughtful, understand special needs, patient, fun, and somehow remember everyone’s names. We held a birthday party here about a month ago and we had such an amazing time. I was able to tell the staff what I wanted, and they literally took care of the rest - the decorations, the food, the activities, the supervision, etc and so I was able to enjoy the party with my kidddo and their classmates and parents without having to worry about anything. I would definitely host another kids’ birthday party here and look forward to future gymnastic classes with this amazing and phenomenal staff (both at Vienna and McLean)! I want to give an extra special shout-out to Mrs. Angela as well. She has such an amazing way with kids and gymnastics instruction.

Our son has been attending My Gym on the weekends for a couple months now. The team and facility are great, and for our son it''s something he really enjoys and looks forward to each week. It's 60 minutes of fun filled activities for the little ones and also nice for the parents to be able to enjoy watching in the open space. Teacher Angela is very motivating and can easily keep the children focused and entertained for the full hour. We'd definitely recommend My Gym Mclean!

We first found out about My Gym through a friend's birthday party, and we were sold immediately! The staff are all fabulous (incredibly patient, and very energetic), my daughter loves them, and it is clear that the feeling is mutual! I have seen my daughter's confidence and coordination improve massively, and she has told me she wishes she lived at the gym! We decided to have her birthday party there, and they also throw a fantastic birthday party with lots of customization options! I could not recommend the My Gym enough!

My Gym McLean is a great place to workout! I’ve been a member since May of 2020. The community here is what keeps myself and others coming back. There is always a professional coach or two to guide everyone through a workout. Give it a try!

I was hesitant to sign up for this. It seemed expensive and the staff seemed young. I was so wrong. The staff is amazing with my daughter and at only 11 months old they keep her attention for the full class. We are constantly changing to a new activity and she loves every single thing we do. Also, appreciate that this summer they allowed members to go to as many open gyms as they wanted because it's been so hot outside. Great experience.

My son loves this place. The staff is friendly and energetic. They do very well with the kids. They have multiple games they play, exercises to encourage children to learn new movements, and songs for kids to sing along with. It is funny watching the parents try to keep their kids doing the activities since the kids all want to run around. There is a ballpit, a few slides, and a low beam. I only spoke about children toddler age so I cannot speak for the older kids events. Their location is a bit difficult to get to because Tyson's Corner is so traffic heavy no matter what time of day.
