Love Next phase/training ground! I went in and chatted with Heather and she listened to all my needs and request! She matched me up with the perfect trainers that worked out exactly what I needed. Reggie and Chris are Great to train with very knowledgeable and committed to training. Love the small gym environment and the one to one attention.

I started taking these classes on a trial pass and been hooked ever since. I’ve been doing signature circuit during my lunch break. That one hour of constant moving really helps me get through the rest of my day. I leave the class gassed and sweaty but pumped and motivated to continue the rest of my day strong. The instructors are motivated and amazing and keep you going all while pushing you without compromising form.

This is a wonderful studio and fitness option. Small groups (anywhere from 5-15ish people in my classes), personal feel, great and enthusiastic instructors, and well structured intense and effective workouts. The classes vary from day to day and the type of workout varies week to week. The stations keep things interesting and make the class go by quickly. This is the first and only gym I’ve returned to post-pandemic. It’s also one of the only β€œboutique” studios I’ve gotten a membership at because I usually prefer variety over a single workout type. I feel like I get variety in this class!

Working out at Next Phase is challenging and amazing!

I enjoy the group circuit training that their team of trainers offer. Each week they switch it up, and offer both strength and cardio workouts. My endurance has increased since I began this type of workout months ago.

Next Phase is the best-kept secret of HIIT gyms in the DC area. As someone who has tried her lion's share of different gyms and workouts - CorePower Yoga, Solidcore, Orange Theory, Down Dog Yoga, Balance Gym, Vida Fitness, Barre, Soul Cycle, etc. - I can honestly say that Next Phase provides the best workout out there. As a lifelong klutz who has feared physical activity her entire life, I was shocked that I could not only get through Next Phase's classes without broken bones or fainting but actually enjoy the HIIT classes and supersede my own fitness expectation. I have been regularly attended Next Phase for over a year and am amazed at my progress: I became significantly more toned, developing lean muscle in parts of my body that were never worked out before, and developed substantial athletic endurance and stamina. I actually enjoy going to the gym for the first time in my life.
If you want to obtain fast, visible, and lasting results, try Next Phase. It is a no bs, science-based 45-minute workout which pushes you to the limit. In addition, I cannot say enough about the amazing trainers: they are experts in their field and genuinely care about your fitness goals. Large chain boutiques like Orange Theory, which offers repetitive and uninspiring workouts in a small, dimly lit space, DO NOT HOLD A CANDLE to Next Phase. Try it, you will not regret it!

I had been searching for a new workout routine and studio for months when I came across Next Phase two years ago. I literally signed up for a membership hours after my first class because it was exactly what I had been looking for: challenging, but welcoming and not at all intimidating. Next Phase has turned into my happy place, and the instructors have become my friends. Shout out to Michael for always making me laugh, encouraging me, and nicely calling me out when I'm being lazy!

A good mix of different classes that target specific body areas. I generally hate cardio and have always avoided the class environment. But these classes are fun and dynamic. The trainer Michael has a really positive, upbeat attitude that makes the classes fly by, and despite the class environment, he keeps an eye on individuals and points out mistakes or improvements (in a non-negative way, you never feel singled out because he’s always giving regular praise to every individual in the class too). I would definitely recommend a class with Michael. For classes that are too cold to be outside, Covid-19 precautions include
: air circulation, disinfecting mats and equipment after each use, and maintaining distance between students.

I have started taking classes at Next Phase (outdoors) due to concerns about working out inside due to COVID-19 pandemic. I was a bit apprehensive about taking classes, because I find many boutique studios to have an ultra-competitive and cliquey vibe, and that the workouts are not based in sound science or body mechanics. That is NOT the case with Next Phase. I am usually the oldest (or close to oldest) participant in the classes, and I have felt nothing but welcomed by both the staff and the other participants. The workouts are challenging, but achievable/scalable, and the trainers are encouraging and know their stuff. I have sent a few questions about schedules and classes by email, and Abby, the manager, is responsive and helpful. I am now taking classes 2-3 days a week, and really, really enjoy them!

I found Next Phase when looking specifically for TRX classes, and I have been very happy with the rigor of the classes. I have taken many classes with Kim, Kazue, and Maren on the TRX, and all of them have an excellent knowledge of how to use the equipment and modifications to make exercises more accessible or more strenuous. I was very excited when Next Phase started offering virtual TRX classes last month, as I have a TRX at home but am more motivated with someone leading me through a workout. I highly recommend this studio for TRX classes.

I discovered the Next Phase Studio through ClassPass. They have been offering amazing outdoor classes to enjoy the fresh air while practicing social distancing. The studio is pretty clean, sanitation is provided, there is contactless check in, etc. They are doing pretty great handling the COVID situation! Abby is the Studio Manager, she is very professional, accommodating, nice, and ALWAYS responsive!!! I have been taking Michael's classes, they are GREAT! Different routines, from upper to lower bodies, to abs and HIIT. He is very kind and caring and makes sure everybody has correct forms and gets the best workout out of the class! I cannot wait for the Next Phase to open more branches all over DC, MD and VA!

I just moved into Tellus Apartment Building and was excited to have a workout studio within the building. Next Phase offers special rates for Tellus residents which is a great added benefit!!

The studio is clean, has free water, a little merchandise, and a very easy check-in process. They have a very convenient phone app to make signing up for classes seamless.

I started with the intro week package and loved the classes and trainers. I regularly workout and still found the classes to be very challenging. Each class is what you make it. You adjust how hard or easy you want each class to be.

The instructors have high energy and take the time to ensure each student knows how to perform workouts correctly. I love this, so I know I am getting the most out of each workout movement and avoid injuries. The music flows constantly which keeps the group pushing hard!

Every Next Phase instructor I’ve meet has been friendly and helpful. The overall vibe of the studio is relaxed, yet motivating. It’s great to walk into class just a couple minutes early, spend 50 minutes, and know I am going to complete an awesome workout.

I highly recommend this studio and would take advantage of their unlimited monthly package!

Butt/Arms/Abs workout with Michael was surprisingly intense. More cardio than I expected, and a lot of glute activation, with good adjustments, especially in bridge positions. nd his sequence definitely hit the right spots.

Next Phase is the perfect neighborhood gym! I moved in to a building two blocks away and was pleasantly surprised to find Next Phase. It's a welcoming gym -- well-lit, clean, and plenty of fitness toys/accessories. The teachers are energetic and encouraging. I always leave feeling accomplished. AMAZING workout! All the instructors are extremely friendly and readily gave modifications when a workout was clearly above my workout capabilities. The studio is clean and bright and there is both a place to wait before the class and a place to put your stuff up in the class in cubicles.

I imagine this place is a smaller version of SolidCore (though I have never been to SolidCore since I am still working on finding my core). The workout was so intense that I was sore for the full week and could barely walk. I had to cancel my workout a couple of days later. This class is great for those with an average or better fitness level. Also would be a great class for anyone looking for challenging cardio, HIIT or pilates workout.

The class I did involved leg workouts on the reformer that involved streeeeeetching the move out and holding your posture in a way that really works out every tiny muscle. We also did TRX moves and then rotated to different stations for more full-body strength moves (ropes, ball throw, etc). I have already recommended this class to friends, colleagues and my husband.
