OGG has the best facility and coaching staff in the DMV. My middle school daughters play lacrosse and have been looking for strength, agility and speed training. We have tried Capstone, perfect performance, and healthy baller. These gyms were either tiny or coaching staff was mediocre. Never got any meaningful feedback, homework, development progress reports, nothing. My friend told me about Parisi speed school hosted at OGG. OGG is night and day difference. Coach Frank and Corey are legit trainers - they teach the fundamentals, work them hard, and importantly explain what the drills are for. As a bonus, the coaches are so interactive, I’ve never seen that level of personal attention before. They also teach communication skills and personal accountability, skills that we didn’t expect they’d be learning at a gym! Finally, coach Frank has raised awareness of social media and the college recruitment process and what’s involved. After each session, coach Frank would take 10-15 minutes just explaining what they did and what they need to work on. After having been through multiple training facilities/brands, the buck stops here. The gym is also a cross fit facility and I see lots of active and former law enforcement and military members training there. I live in falls church, VA, and it is a 30 minute drive one way on the 267 toll road. My girls train twice a week - but despite the the distance and toll costs - so so worth it. I hope and pray that the coaches stay with OGG for 5 more years!

10 year Crossfitter (on and off). I used to be moderately fast and pretty strong. Now I'm moderately strong and slow AF. Dropped in with my pretty amazing wife to see what these maniacs are up to at this gym. I can't speak to the wider community from one class, but the staff and athletes we met were kind, encouraging, and competent. Other aspects are ranked as follows:
9.5/10 Overall
10/10 Lobby aesthetic, cleanliness, and character
10/10 Merch, healthy drinks, and healthy snacks
10/10 Clean bathrooms (with showers!)
10/10 Staff welcome/engagement
10/10 Equipment
10/10 Equipment organization
10/10 Gym space
8/10 Spatial flow (was being shared with other activities)
10/10 WOD brief technology
10/10 Coaching competency
10/10 Coaching cues
10/10 Coaching "touches"
10/10 Coaching - modeling movement points of performance
10/10 Coach banter
8.5/10 Coaching assertiveness on scaling/form
8.5/10 Warm up (flow could have been more intentional)
10/10 Strength session (build to heaviest set of 3 deadlifts)
10/10 Metcon (21-15-9 power cleans/ring dips 10min cap)
10/10 Time Management
10/10 Athlete camaraderie/encouragement
7/10 Gym etiquette (coach and athlete dropped barbells from shin height - how dare you, sirs!?)(not a big deal, just picking because it hurts my soul...maybe I was a barbell in a previous life)
10/10 No weird smells (besides me)
10/10 Owner
10/10 No pushy sales pitches
10/10 Staff belief/buy-in in gym offerings
8/10 The blood they make you drink from the skull was a bit cold (Crossfit Cult inititiation - standard at every gym)(kidding)(probably)(no, seriously joking)(or am I?)

Dropped in at Old Glory while in town for work. Facilities are great, from the large lobby to the very well setup workout space. Coaching was solid and very proactively talked with me about working into their current lifting cycle or taking an alternative route as they were at a pretty heavy stage in the cycle. All in a solid gym, with great staff. Would definitely drop in again, and could easily call this gym home if I lived in the area.

Was in town for family and needed a gym to do my workout that’s focused on good form and strength training. I feel like I hit the jackpot and found an extremely nice place, with expert trainers, and most importantly a safe space for a woman to do a workout!

Ready to workout here the rest of my stay and will definitely come back to workout here again on my next stay in NoVA.

Coaches at OGG are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and dedicated to building world class exercise programs that will get you into the best shape of your life. Super thankful to the coaching staff for the hard work they put into running the gym and programming. It’s an honor to be a part of a community at OGG that wants you to succeed, and challenges you in a way that makes you stronger physically and mentally. Shoutout to coaches Jason, Steve, Frank, Peter and Allison!

Dropped in for a workout while in town visiting. Plenty of classes on the schedule to attend, but I am currently following Wendler's 531 and I just needed a place to lift some weights. They had a variety of barbells, bumper plates and other equipment to support getting whatever you need.

Sign up was easy and the facilities were clean and orderly. Staff (and even members) were friendly and helpful. All in all, I had a great experience and this will be my go to place to work out when I'm back visiting NOVA. Thank you!

I have been an OGG member for almost three years now and only regret that I had not joined sooner! This gym is great and is everything I could ask for. The facility is top notch with all the equipment you need for a varied workout. The gym also offers several different types of workouts and programs to fit any athlete's needs, from the most experienced to the newest. The coaches are approachable, knowledgable and focused on helping every athlete achieve their goals. You cannot find a better gym in Loudoun County than OGG. I would highly recommend OGG to anyone living in the Ashburn area and will continue to be a member for years to come!

We've been members for almost two years here, and we found our tribe.

I've made the rounds of a lot of gyms, and frankly, they all made me feel like the fat kid picked last in an elementary gym class. I walked in the doors of Old Glory, and I was treated with kindness, respect, and encouragement even though I was significantly less fit than anyone else there. Last year, I took time away to recover from surgery. When I woke up from the anesthesia, I had messages from a ton of Old Glory athletes wishing me well, some of whom I hadn't met yet! Once I was back in the box, Jason and his staff went out of their way to adapt exercises so I could do them safely and regain my strength. Now I'm much fitter, and that same environment of encouragement is still there.

Facilities-wise, every thing is clean, bright, and well taken care of. The equipment is all in working order, and there's always plenty of bars, plates, rowers, ergs, etc. to go around.

This isn't a gym. This is a community.

I joined OGG a month after the doors opened in 2016. I dropped in to give this place a shot after hitting a dead end physically...I was instantly hooked after meeting Jason, seeing his dedication to his space and the programming he had for his athletes. Jason and his staff are incredible individuals that not only push you to do amazing things but geniunely care about you and your goals. The community that Old Glory has is something I can’t describe in just a sentence or two you just have come in and see it for yourself.

Jason, you really continue day in and day out to impress me with your love for your community and what you do. Thanks for always being that motivational push for us and creating a space for us to grow. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

The staff at OGG make a personal commitment to ensure athletes get the workout they came for. They take crossfit to another level.

Staff is experienced, certified and walk the talk. Workouts vary daily and are not routine. This is not a box for those who are looking for a clique nor vanity. Everyone is family and there to push you to the next level.

Looking to challenge yourself and/or get an awesome crossfit workout, stop in at Old Glory Gym...

OGG is my new fitness home, after having moved into the area. To say the least, it's been fantastic. The coaches are attentive, the community is amazing, the facility is awesome, the options are endless fpr fitness (run club, barbell club, strongman, etc), and the programming is awesome. Jason has developed an approach to fitness and the crossfit community that helps blend the best of what he's learned over the many years he's been involved, and it shows. Great place to join, drop-in, or give a try!

I have attended one other box regularly for several years, and dropped in to several boxes in my time as a crossfitter. I decided to leave my first box due to scheduling conflicts and not being able to attend classes. In the time I made that decision, I broke my foot and basically put myself on an 8 week hiatus, after a year plus of limited attendance due to a pregnancy and newborn life. (AKA, bad shape) In March of 2018 I decided to email OGG and immediately got a response to come in and meet with Jason. He showed me around the gym, explained the philosophy and presented me my options for membership. I took a class the following weekend and signed up for an unlimited membership immediately. I was welcomed into a very close gym community, and they worked with me to build back up to heavy lifting and high impact movements for recovering my broken foot. I was attending 3-5 classes a week, seeing more results than I had in years, and absolutely loved the community. Fast forward to August, I break my OTHER foot and when I reached out to scale down my membership, I was immediately met with "we'll do whatever you need to" but most importantly "come in still. We will scale and keep you moving." Jason crafted workouts I don't even call scaled, because I still was sucking wind at the end, even when not using my feet. Due to my crazy work schedule I make very infrequently, but when I do, I get my butt kicked in the best way possible, and can't wait for the next time I can come in. Even with my infrequent schedule, I'm in better shape than I have been in a long time. I highly recommend anyone who wants to join a fantastic community with the bonus of great workouts come give OGG a try.

Excellent coaches and athletes are equally as supportive. The best gym in this area- they offer a variety of classes so your training is versatile and well rounded, from running club to barbell to kettlebell and endurance classes. Jason, the owner, is passionate and takes great care of his coaches and athletes. Highly recommend! When you step foot in this gym, it’s the best 60 minutes you’ll spend investing on your health!

Old Glory Gym is a place I consider my second home. I’ve been a member since the doors opened in 2016. I live almost an hour away but make the drive 4-5 times a week, past several other CF gyms, to workout at OGG because it is the type of place that makes you want to come back again and again. The owner, staff and coaches make sure every single person that walks through the doors feels welcome, and they encourage current members to make new members feel welcome which is a great reminder that we were all new at some time.

I’m a stay at home mom to a 4 year old boy and the childcare provided at OGG is a lifesaver so parents can get in their much needed workouts. My son has flourished getting to play with different children and he knows the owner by name πŸ˜€

The programming at OGG is top notch and can be modified to meet any fitness level. The coaching is the best I’ve ever encountered and I’ve been given the slight push by the coaches to do things I never thought I could do. The improvements I’ve seen in my strength and endurance over the past 2 years is amazing. The confidence I have in myself and what I can do has grown exponentially because of the coaching I get at OGG.

The community at OGG works hard, but plays hard too. The events in and out of the gym are always a good time.

Community/Challenge/Fun......these are the three things that come to mind about OGG. I have known the owner of this gym for 6 years, there is no person more committed the building a place where all are welcomed, no matter your goals/abilities/experience.

As I sat watching my OGG family during the 2018 CrossFit Open challenge themselves I felt a wave of peace wash over me. It is at OGG where I have found a community that challenges me and supports me in my goals.

To find my joy of running again was the main reason I started with CrossFit and I have gotten so much more. Yes, I have found my love of running again as I am stronger now than I have ever been in my life. But I have also found running buddies which also make my life better!

Don't wait just come check-out OGG, you will not regret it.

Read the fine print

I signed my son and his girlfriend up to get in shape before he left for bootcamp. After cancelling I was surprised to get another charge for $300 on my credit card. It turns out that, in addition to the $270 first month, there is an additional $150 "cancellation fee". Not only that, they require 30 days written notice in order to cancel.

You should know before you sign up that you are committing to a minimum $420, even if you only do one month, or one day. And that is only if you actually given them written notice that you want to cancel on the same day you start. Otherwise you owe for a whole additional month, which really makes it a $550 commitment.

Luckily for me they agreed to waive the 30 days written notice since I told them up front that he was heading off to bootcamp. I can't imagine what the business justification is for needing to charge a $150 cancellation fee, or why they need 30 days written notice. This seems like simply a way to gouge customers. My son did say the trainers were good though.

Having lost over 100 pounds, but struggling to get to the healthy, fit me I knew I could be, I took a chance and grabbed a friend to enroll in Old Glory Gym’s β€œNew You Challenge.” Owner and Coach Jason was someone I instantly β€œclicked” with, and knew that I was in for a radically different β€œgym” experience than I’d ever faced. That was 8 months ago. At Old Glory Gym, I found my tribe – women, and men, in all shapes and sizes, genuinely welcoming me into their community. I found coaches who were the perfect mix of knowledgeable, support and humor. I found a rigorous and challenging experience in CrossFit, where I learned how to be the athlete I always knew I could be. I learned new ways of eating that would help me get to a healthy weight, and continue to tone up the areas that need work.

Officially today, I've been a member of Old Glory Gym for 3 months. I primarily attend the Foundry Barbell Club (the Olympic weightlifting group) and occasionally a couple crossfit classes a week for general conditioning.
Just general information: the gym is kept extremely clean; equipment is well maintained and available. In terms of Oly equipment, competition plates are available (Kg and Lbs---in addition to training bumpers), very nice bearing-collard barbells with lots of spin (some center gnurlinged), and wooden lifting platforms. The classes are well organized in terms of space and equipment. All of the coaches I have had (the barbell club alone has 3 coaches that worked together on the programming) are extremely knowledgeable and they demand safety-first (sloppy reps and form are discouraged and they have scaling options at the ready).
From my first day, I've been treated like a life long member. The owner and coaching staff were immediately on a first name bases with me. Beyond exchanging pleasantries, the coaches seem genuinely interested in everyone's progress providing one-on-one coaching, concerns of day-to-day recovery, and legitimate excitement when you make a PR. And that enthusiasm and expertise has already shown in the significant progress I've made. The membership is extremely varied from levels of experience, which provides an encouraging environment and general camaraderie...everyone is there to help and learn from each other. Gym days at OGG are days that I look forward to!
