I made the mistake of registering for a tour of the mclean facility, and cannot stop the unrelenting calls hounding me. My voicemail has been jammed by calls from orange theory reps for the past several months asking me to call and stop by. Clearly, i have no interest in encouraging the aggressive marketing calls. I truly regret ever contacting them. Chris from the Mclean location calls me every other day and leaves a vm. PLEASE STOP CALLING, TAKE ME OFF ORANGETHEORY CALL LIST. This sort of constant contact is unproductive and has the reverse effect - damaging the branding and marketing effort. AGAIN, take me off your call list.

The Best 1 hour workout in McLean really good community here. Great class times as well they are open from 5am-12PM. then thereβs a little break before the evening classes that start at 4:15PM most days but there is a 3PM on Monday and Friday little added bonus. 6:15am or 12PM are my favorite classes to take. Plenty of free parking too huge lot in the back. Neutral Ground is right across the way grab a workout grab a drink at night or on the weekends!

I love this place. I've been going to OTF for about 9 months and have been to many different locations. This one is my favorite. I love the coaches and equipment. The treadmills are much more comfortable than any I've ever used. I ran past this OTF studio for years during my runs and never considered joining, thinking this was just a fluff workout. A friend mentioned how intense it is, and I have to say my fitness has improved tremendously since starting OTF compared to just running.

I have now had 2 experiences with this particular location. This is not my home studio, but sometimes my work locations require me to go to different studios. The first time I went, I had a male instructor, who showed no enthusiasm, support, or care. It seemed like he was there just to read off a set of directions. No words of encouragement, or anything to that nature. I was cool with it until I realized that while he was standing next to me, he couldn't be bothered to tell me that I was doing a weight lifting exercise incorrectly, and I only noticed it halfway through the block. But no supportive behavior throughout the entire class. I decided that I wouldn't take him for another class if I had to come back to this studio. A couple of days later, I signed up for another class with a different instructor. The next day, I had an early morning emergency and was running 5 minutes late, so 30 minutes before the beginning of the class, I called to make sure I could still come. I was told it shouldn't be a problem. I came exactly 5 minutes later, and was told by the coach that not a single station was available. And then she left. Not another word. The front desk person was still there, and I stated that I signed up for the class yesterday, so I don't know why stations would be unavailable. He stated that there might be people who didn't sign up for the class. So I essentially wasted an hours worth of my time, so I couldn't work out. So now, 2 instructors that were less than acceptable . I haven't experienced this in any other studio in the area and I think it's important to point it out, especially if you have an expensive membership.

Came here for my first class while in the DC area for the holidays. The Intro class was challenging but definitely doable as a first time class at the studio.
Megan was my coach, and she was great at explaining the different stations and exercises, and she was good at offering corrections to our techniques without any judgement or embarrassment.
Fun fact. First time booking a class at an Orange Theory, so you should definitely take advantage of that.

My wife and I joined OTF McLean and we really liked the concept of cardio combined with strength training. We enjoyed each of those classes and must say that all the trainers were awesome. They do give you personal attention and we had seen results in just one month. Its sad that we had to leave McLean due to my job relocation. I would really recommend this place to anyone who wants to embark on a new fitness journey. Wishing Addison and her crew all the very best!

I joined Orangetheory about 2 months ago and noticed alot of progress in my general fitness. As a avid runner and cyclist I wasn't really targeting the whole body the way OT does. I lost 10 pounds and continue to improve my stamina, strength, & mobility. Coaches Addison, Georgia, Megan, & Patricia are very supportive of each individual goals. 100% recommend.

I am so fortunate to have found Orange Theory several years ago. Prior to Orange theory, I was a member of other gyms as well as had personal trainers, but nothing really stuck with me like Orange Theory.
Orange Theory is a one hour rigorous work-out of the entire body. When the hour is over, I feel as though I have really done what I needed to do for my physical and mental health, and I'm sweating like a pig (although pigs don't sweat, and that idiom comes from industrial steel production referring to pig iron).
The icing on the cake for me is that every coach I have had at Orange Theory is absolutely superb...incredibly encouraging, enthusiastic, interpersonal, and remarkably organized with the timing of moving three groups to different stations throughout the hour. A coach truly has to be at the top of their game to be able to do that effectively. The coaches make it look easy, but it isn't. It definitely requires a specific aptitude.
Lastly, at age 75, I think it is important to note, the benefit of cardio/rigorous exercise on the aging mind. In the past two years or so, I have had 3 doctors (specializing in different disciplines) tell me that the best thing I can do to ward off memory loss/dementia, etc. is to exercise, particularly exercise with rigorous cardio.

I love Orange Theory McLean. I joined in February and took my first class with Coach Ben. I was hooked. He really took the time to explain how OTF works. Because of the great coaches, Ben, Regina, and Addison, I stay motivated and look forward to each class. This is for coach Ben. Avoid. No demonstration and no verbal cue since I am the only person in one group. I still paid for that class to watch the demonstration or listen to the verbal cues when running. Laziness or Discrimination. I can watch some you tube videos and run my own treadmill. Why come to a class?
Coach Addison or Regina is amazing. You should replace Ben with someone professional.

Iβm really disappointed in this location that is right next to my work. My home studio in Maryland requires all participants to use a face mask and follows CDC guidelines. I started going to the McLean studio when I started my job in Virginia back in February. I just went for the first time after the quarantine (Iβve been to my home studio about 8 times with the new guidelines) and Iβm just really disappointed. I knew other participants wouldnβt be wearing masks...but the lack of enforcement of CDC guidelines that I thought would be in place was shocking. All the fans were on and participants werenβt required to wear masks while rotating stations. While I was wearing a mask, I still felt unsafe as others were not and were running in front of a fan that was blowing on me. Iβve gone to the falls church location, and while their masks are optional they still enforce the no fan rule from the CDC guidelines and require masks while switching stations. I thought McLean would follow the same precautions but they didnβt and the other members didnβt seem to care at all. Really disappointing.

Joining OTF has been life changing! Helped me lose at least 20 lbs of fat and gain ~8 pounds of muscle (confirmed through a Dexa body scan). I didn't think I would like a group fitness class, but I was hooked after my first session. Members are at all different fitness levels and ages. Each class is different and all the coaches and staff are fantastic!

Iβve been going to Orangetheory for a year now, and it is the best work out Iβve ever had. Classes are dynamic and engaging. Coaches are motivating. I work really hard for an hour and then Iβm done for the day and can focus on other things. I would go every day if I could, but work gets in the way. I donβt feel like myself any more unless I go to my Orangetheory class regularly. Iβm a little obsessed and my family teases me about it, but itβs such a great workout!

The variety of treadmill, floor and row exercises always has my muscles guessing and always pushing me to work harder. I always feel great after each workout. I compete with myself and am inspired by the others as well. Such a communal workout. Love it! Just getting back after a stent with breast cancer but I feel no pressure and no judgement coming back. Everyone competes with themselves and I don't feel out of place. It's great getting back in the OTF swing!

I joined Orangetheory Fitness McLean, VA, on Jan. 1, 2018, after hearing my daughter and her friends in their 20's say how much they liked it.
For me, that class was love at first sight! I'm not a peak-performing athlete, but I feel like one under the motivating guidance of the marvelous coaches.
OTF McLean is more than just a vigorous, always varying, all-in-one, exercise class. The McLean OTF demographics are that everyone is there, all ages and walks of life. It's a one hour escape from our hectic world. There's an easy parking lot, then you walk through a pretty breezeway past a children's ballet studio and a quaint Old World European restaurant. As you open the OTF McLean front door, you are greeted by smiling front-desk staff.
When I first started at OTF McLean, I didn't know anyone. My daughter goes to classes at a different time than I do. Fortunately the members standing with me in line for my initial classes were so friendly. Even today I don't know anyone's last name, but now when I come in, I am happy to wait for class with other members, sharing OTF tips, travel, or what kids are doing on sports teams.
My husband joined this year. Exercising non-stop in class under a coach is new to him, but he sees the value for increased stamina and strength. We both appreciate the vision that studio manager/coach Addison Sullivan has of providing a place for members to rejuvenate. She creates a community, including having occasional no-pressure, anonymous, fundraisers that always exceed expectations in collections. One Friday at 5:30 p.m., my husband and I joined a 90-minute class to raise money for the Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia. It was a wonderful experience of camaraderie. Later I thanked Addison for scheduling it. She smiled and explained that in high school she had volunteered to mentor a fellow student with Down Syndrome. The young man is now in college. In addition to a superb exercise program, OTF McLean has a big heart!

Orangetheory is like a cross between 1) a gym, 2) discotheque, and 3) off-track betting (as your heart-rate monitor is linked to a large leaderboard). Iβm a huge fan of OTFβ¦ it works for me.

Love OT! I hadnβt worked out in literally years, and dragged myself to class when I became frustrated with my weight. I was shocked that I loved it! I went from buying 10 sessions to 8 a month to unlimited. Now, Iβm disappointed when I donβt get to go. Iβm in a better mood, have more energy and have already lost a few pounds. I joined OT McLean mid-February- so Iβve been a member for 2 months. Iβve already lost 2 pounds and I only go once a week (no diet change). It is such an amazing work out with the cardio, rowing and strength training. I feel like it is about what I would do in 2-3 work outs all crammed into one 60 min session (hey Iβm a little lazy when left to my own devices :)!!). The best part is I have had chronic rotator cuff tendinitis for the past few years. In the last month I noticed my shoulder pain decreased significantly when I play volleyball. My hitting also more powerful from the core exercises. I can only attribute it to OT because the rowing and many of the strength moves are similar to what I did in physical therapy.

Tariq is my favorite coach -- he communicates very clearly so you're never confused at who he is talking to (tread, row, or floor) and he's great at motivating us without overkill. I like the new cards we pick up at the beginning of the workout so we know exactly which treadmill, row, or spot we can start with instead of doing that weird run/jog to try grab what you want. LOL And the front desk at McLean is really friendly. There's parking, too!

I like that I can easily show up without knowing much about physical fitness and follow a workout with measurable results. It's a great feeling knowing I've maximized my efforts in that hour. The gym is organized and clean, the staff friendly and workouts planned and varied. The booking system on the app is a bit annoying because of the inability to book beyond your billing month, but you can call and they'll do it manually. I'd be ok with signing up for 3 months at a time if that meant I had more booking flexibility. As OTF grows, I would love to see a social component added to the app where I can challenge OTF friends in other locations, much like Fitbit's system.
