My son and I walked into PEAK with very little knowledge or experience. The staff were amazing and hospitable. I didn't feel judged or looked down upon at all in the way you sometimes do in hobby shops or specialty stores for niche interests.

Josh was particularly amazing at making my son feel comfortable and confident, and explaining everything in a low pressure and clear way.

There were plenty of regulars around and they kind and welcoming as well. I would recommend this climbing gym to anyone interested in trying out rock climbing for the first time, especially if feeling a bit intimidated.

We recently celebrated my son's 18th birthday at Peak Experiences Midlothian for the Half Lock-In, and I can't recommend it enough! From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. Our hosts, Ashley and Wesley, were absolutely fantastic—professional, engaging, and incredibly skilled at working with the kids.

Some of my son's friends had never been rock climbing before, but thanks to Ashley and Wesley’s expert guidance and encouragement, they were confidently climbing the 50-foot wall by the end of the night! The teaching and hands-on learning they provided made a huge difference, turning first-timers into enthusiastic climbers.

If you're looking for a unique and memorable way to celebrate a birthday, Peak Midlo is the perfect spot. My son and his friends had an amazing time, and we're so grateful for the incredible experience. Highly recommend!

Today was absolutely amazing thanks to the staff at Peak Experiences. Specifically, Liam was amazing! We wanted to take our daughter, who requires high supports, to Peak Experiences for her birthday. She loves to climb! Just had a small birthday gathering for my 9yo. The place and staff were awesome! Everyone was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and PATIENT with the kids (and adults). Manny and his crew were beyond hospitable. I love climbing - it is becoming a new hobby of mine. I have been to peak once and it was a great experience. I went with my dad - we are both new to it and we both had a blast.
We tried the bouldering wall and tall walls. The bouldering had plenty of routes that were easier for us and a lot that challenged us. The tall walls were great too because there was a big variety and heights and difficulty levels. We will definitely be going back.

Peak Experience definitely gave my husband and I an experience we hadn't had before. We both are afraid of heights but love adventure and trying new places. We went on a week day before 2pm and got a lower price which was wonderful. I can see that if we continue to be consistent with coming we wouldn't be afraid of heights for much longer. This is the spot. Peak Midlo has been my home gym for a few years now, and while the other gyms in Richmond (including the other Peaks location) are great, Midlo is #1 for rope climbing. Having old concrete walls rather than Walltopia sandpaper is the biggest factor in this, but its just an all around awesome gym. Staff are great, it's rarely exceedingly busy, and the routesetting here is awesome.

The gyms in RVA are great but if you're looking for a training spot, particularly for lead climbing, this is as good as it gets. Go to Peak Midlo.

Maya Angelou tells us that people will forget what you did, what you said, but they’ll always remember how you made them feel! In that same way, I’d like to recognize Denis Wallace, Manager, Peak Experiences (Midlothian).

Part of my family ventured to Peak Experiences a few weeks ago; we all returned today! Why? It’s fun and the folks there are great!!! My experience today was even better!!!

Denis received us well! A nice greeting, quick orientation and then the paperwork (we did much online). It was better than a ‘Chick-Fil-A welcoming’, and that says a bunch! We were introduced to some of the course challenges, received proper gear fitting and oriented to climbing techniques. We were off...or better, climbing up!

My children were enjoying the apparatus, moving from this point to that and getting some encouragement! Yes, that’s right! It was Denis giving some needed tips and offering kind words...cheers, in fact! But like any good info commercial, there’s more. My children’s fingers/hands got sore quickly, as climbing is new. Denis sought to comfort them with the benefits of using climbing chalk. It made a huge difference for them...and you can bet these parents appreciated this on top of everything else!

In short, we had a great time thanks to Denis’ caring about our ‘peak experience’. We bought a 10-pack pass and are looking to coming back soon!

While I’ll remember today all the things Denis took the time to do, I will always remember how he made us feel! He’s a superstar and worthy of recognition.

They have super friendly staff that are knowledgeable and helpful. Conservative with safety measure and procedures so that’s really good for any beginners who may be nervous, and also helps prevent bad habits. Get as much help from the staff as you can, it will save ya. We drove in from out of town and just wanted to get a workout in and the cracks in the back had us hooked. Best gym cracks around. Really love the feel of the walls, not super modern like the new gyms but not run down at all, great environment, feels like a new old-school gym haha.

Peak is the best. Have climbed there for several years. The setting is top notch, the staff is very friendly and professional (no climber snobs here!) and they always go out of their way to ensure people have a good time and are safe. The upper deck staff/admin, esp. Julie, are also phenomenal. While it is a serious climbing gym challenging to advanced climbers, they manage to strike a balance and be inclusive to people of all ages and all abilties. Great culture among the clients too. My only complaint is that they don't open a branch in Cville... come on over! I'd been in every day...

They change the routes every month or so, and have lots of classes, packages, and a super super awesome staff that is really knowledgeable and courteous.
