I had to cancel my membership because Robert the trainer, started talking about my group of friends, saying we couldn’t train together, and claiming that one of the girls was charging us. I canceled my membership because honestly, my friend was only motivating us to train as a group and helping us with our routines. Since he didn’t see any benefit from us, he reported us, and my friend had her membership canceled, and our whole group left as well. On top of that, all Robert does is flirt with the girls at the gym, inviting them to go out with him.

Yesterday I went to the gym at 6:34 PM, and I was unable to work out because the odor inside the facility was extremely strong. When I went to the front desk to ask why it smelled so bad, the staff member told me he couldn’t spray anything because customers had complained about it in the past.

The smell was so overwhelming that I walked around to different areas of the gym, and it still smelled just as bad. It was to the point where I couldn’t even complete my workout. I was highly disappointed.

I’ve also noticed ongoing hygiene issues in the women’s restroom, and the weightlifting area has equipment with ripped seats. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this particular Planet Fitness location. Yesterday’s experience almost made me cancel my entire membership because there is constantly an issue at this location.

This location is ok. They have upgraded their equipment. Some users like to hog two machines at a time. Staff pretty friendly. Needs to be dusted more under the machine and the bathrooms need to be cleaned more often. 🚨 WARNING: Absolutely the Worst Staff Experience at Planet Fitness – Huntington, Alexandria VA

I’ve never written a review this angry, but what happened tonight pushed me over the edge. This is the third time I’ve been disrespected by the same rude front desk guy at the Huntington location in Alexandria, VA — and this time, it was beyond unprofessional. It was disgusting.

I scanned my barcode like every member does, waiting to be confirmed in. Instead of doing his job, the guy looked at me like I was stupid and barked “What?” with the most disrespectful tone. When I hesitated, confused by his attitude, he said “Chill out” like I was the problem. I went back to complain and ask for the manager. The other front desk staff just shrugged and said, “You’ll have to talk to the manager.”

I asked for the rude guy’s name. Instead of handling it professionally, the same guy walks over to me and starts mocking me, saying “Ask me my name? You’re acting like a female,” and then starts mumbling curses under his breath and basically saying he doesn’t care if I report him to corporate.

Let me be clear:
• This is harassment.
• This is verbal abuse.
• And Planet Fitness is letting it happen — again.

If Planet Fitness wants to advertise a “judgment-free zone,” then explain how this staff member still has a job after behaving like this — not once, but multiple times. Treating members like garbage, cursing at them, mocking them, and belittling them while your coworkers stand by and say nothing? That’s pathetic.

I’m reporting this directly to corporate (again). But if this man isn’t fired or dealt with immediately, this location deserves to be exposed publicly. No one should feel bullied or disrespected when they walk into a gym. You don’t get to mock people and call that “customer service.”

Shame on this staff. Shame on this management. Do better — or start losing members.

If you have a Black Card membership and enjoy using the extra amenities in the Black Card suite area, I would recommend avoiding this location. Their one and only hydro-bed has been out of service for weeks now, and they have not provided any estimation for when it will be returned to service. There are other nearby Planet Fitness locations with better suite areas that have multiple hydro-beds available to use.

The gym is ok, some of the machine cabled weights need to be replaced as you can feel the slack in the cable.

There was a huge lint/dust that flew off the fan and the AC works but not great.

The hydro bed has been down even after what appeared to be a renovation in that area, appears to have been down for several months with no fix

Planet Fitness at 5960 Richmond Highway, Alexandria VA is an excellent place to get membership. You can always count on Jalen, Mare, Rio and Mo to take good care of you each time you visit this gym. There is plenty of equipment for everyone and the place is well organized and clean. Ask any of the staff members if you need help with any of your exercises. They will be happy yo help. I have been a member of this gym for 6 years and it has been a great experience. If you are looking for a gym, give this one a chance.

Just moved to the area with multiple PL locations, so visiting each one to find my home base.

Equipment: Best/Newest equipment I've seen in the area, almost all the strength equipment looked brand new, and cardio equipment was still pretty new. Only serious disappointment was the fact that 3 out of the 6 stair steppers we broken 🫤

Building: Decent size parking lot. Interior layout was really nice, enough space/air flow, and logical setup. The weights area and 30 min workout area are a little tight but workable if it isn't too busy.

Black card area was a BIG disappointment though...only 1 hydro bed (out of order), no interior sitting area, and the layout is not closed off, leads to people just walking through. Owner should put up a glass divider in the walkway.

Most of the employees sit at the front desk and do nothing. I come here 4 times a week and have only seen one person, Dan, cleaning in the middle of the day. There is dust on all the machines and bathrooms are never clean in the middle of the day.

I go to the Chantilly location twice a week and it's the opposite experience. They have somebody checking the bathrooms every hour and somebody is always wiping down equipment.

I've been a member for about 11 months and the gym itself is okay..I belong to another gym and many people complain and say they don't like PF and I always defend the gym for it's cozy size and uniform equipment. However, they lost some points last night. I went to this location which is considered my home gym by other locations because I signed up there.i had my teen son and he had Subway beforehand and needed to use the restroom. The girl at the desk told me they do not have an open policy bathroom and I needed to pay $20 for a day pass in order for my son to use the bathroom? I have never heard of anything so ridiculous so Zi will be moving my membership to another gym instead of PF..I will make sure my son can use the bathroom without a day pass fee if it ever becomes necessary. It's not like he ever really goes with me. We just happened to be out and I decided to go to my gym for a bit. No more!!!!?

I recently came to this gym with a friend who has a black card membership we were trying to use the massage chairs so I took her barcode up the the desk and asked them if they could turn them on and they only put one on so I went back to ask for the other one and an employee told me it’s not my account so they can only turn on one so she used it and said I could use it for the remaining time and while I was in the chair an employee came back and rudely told me “ get off the chair” and “get out of the chair, I just told you you can’t use it” when I asked why not he said because it’s not my account which now I understand but I thought he meant they could only turn on one chair not that I couldn’t use it if my friend said I could it was an honest mistake but it could have been handled by the employee way differently and honestly more maturely because I left feeling embarrassed. He was just really aggressive and rude about it when there are nicer ways to say that I wasn’t allowed to use it.

I had a fantastic experience at this Planet Fitness while visiting my sister! This visit went so well that I decided to obtain a Black Card membership. Trinity and Supanta were incredibly helpful in explaining the membership options in detail, making it easy for me to understand the benefits and features available. Their friendly and knowledgeable approach made me feel welcome right from the start.

The need to get those raggedy showers together. Hot water is sub par. Bathrooms always smell like Urine. Now they clean up but are minimal. Some of the workers are always looking at their phone sitting on counters. A few of the staff are friendly and helpful. No real management on site which is a problem. Being separate franchises you will find other planet fitness better than others but all need to be held to the same standard. This is why their stock is diminishing. District managers live by email unacceptable. People pay for a membership so get it right or you will lose memberships and folks will go elsewhere. Properly greet people and renovate your damn showers. The shower was leaking from the light fixture in the shower It was pure dangerous. Everything you pay for should be in good standing. If nothing changes I will get membership elsewhere. Corporate has weak responses too. Get your business corrected today.

I typically come to this location in the morning or afternoon. It’s hardly ever busy when I come. Definitely love that they have a “busy” meter on the app so I can avoid that if need be. The staff at this location is really nice, never came in without a greeting or goodbye. Supplies to clean the equipment is always stocked so that’s definitely a plus. Customer service needs to better. A bunch of kids running the front desk who can care less.Instead of sitting there with headphones, the young lady could have been cleaning. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I would recommend a more upper scale gym if you can afford it. This was the bare minimal in service and attitude. There are like 50 gyms in the area, and so customers aren’t stuck with settling with PF. It seems like the lack of customer service and cleaning is a big issue in the reviews. Meanwhile the kids running the front desk are on their phone. Our corporate company have a contract with them where we get discounts and so many of us have complain that they are looking to change who our gym membership is through in 2025.

There on Sunday afternoon, in the high 90s and the air conditioning is notttttt functioning properly and has not been functioning for quite some time now according to the staff and the managers aware about it. I know we're there to work out and sweat but this is absolutely miserable with the humidity inside the building. And the building is extremely small.
The men's bathroom and women's bathroom were dirty, the overall facility needs a deep cleaning. I would not make this my permanent PF gym. When I move here, I'll find a different one. The parking is extremely limited, and definitely not RV or tractor trailer friendly. Their parking lot is shared with other businesses and will handle approximately 100 vehicles. Definitely not enough parking.
The facility itself is extremely small and was not too busy on a Sunday afternoon, but with it being so humid inside the building, just as bad as it is outside but not as hot because the air condition is still broke, it was a miserable workout.
Definitely recommend you find a different Planet Fitness to work out at if you can and definitely not the one few miles away on the same road which also has broken AC.

Terrible customer service. Ongoing billing issues with no effort to help after I bugged them to death since my membership fees were being sent to collections (the system was having technical errors). I got a new bank account after I got married, so I updated my new information in their system. At the end of each month, the system would automatically revert back to my old bank account that had been deleted and try to charge it. It would fail obviously. I then was charged a late fee each month due to their system having ongoing errors.

I brought this to the staff’s attention and they would either take off the late fee and have me re-enter everything all over again or say eventually that only the manager could help me, who was not in. I called several times (5-10 different occasions), but the manager was NEVER THERE. I was told she were there 6am-6pm, so I called and they said, “she’s only in 6am-2pm”. The next time, she was on vacation. Then, it seemed like they “changed” her hours from 6am-12pm. I gave them my email address and the manager finally reached me. I emailed back, but was ignored. I sent 2 follow up emails and it took 10 days to finally get a response.

My membership had been fully canceled and my fees that I was unable to pay (because of their systems tech difficulties) were sent to collections. I was told by staff that I would have to start a new membership and repay all of the startup fees I had already paid. Additionally, I was told I’d have to pay whatever I owed in person (even though I’d made it clear I had moved away). Why was this treated like my problem that I should have to bend over backwards and lose $ for??? No responsibility taken on their behalf for neglecting this!

They should have done whatever they could to fix it rather than being impossible to reach, wanting to recharge me the startup fees, and expecting me to show up in person to do what should’ve already been done. Beyond frustrated and glad I won’t be back.

Update: I’ve already called your office thirty times and the manager was “always out”. Their hours kept “changing. Additionally, it took several emails to the manager directly to get a response.

Went to the bathroom on Monday , both Urinals stalls were very dirty , like it hasn't been touched in days. I went back on Thursday and it was still dirty like it was on Monday. Y'all need to get it together. V/R

I've been a member since January. Contract and app says the payment is $25 monthly and $49 annually. I've seen the $25 one time in January and have gotten odd charges of $15 and $40. I attempted to resolve this with their payment department and in person to no success. I'm out. This is ridiculous.

Unbelievable I'm a member at LA FITNESS
and was invited by a member of Planet Fitness. I had to use the rest room before workout.. I literally had to stand on urine to use the restroom. Unforgivable experiane.
