I was on a Memphis to Boston run and this was a perfect stop for me. Got here late in the night to do my 10 hour break and was hoping to do a quick half hour workout in the morning before I headed out. Made it here with literally no time left on my drive clock, I had already seen the parking lot on G maps and I wasn’t even going to attempt to park there. The deadend road on the side was just the most perfect spot, basically all I needed. So I head over there only to realize that they had barricades on the deadend street outside their property.

Trucking is a hard job. 12 to 16 hour long days, caffeine, nicotine, etc to keep going, staying healthy means you have a better chance to be attentive for longer hours , and that in turn means people around you on the roads are safe. The black card from planet fitness gives OTR truckers who go out of their way to stay somewhat active a chance to work out a couple times a week if they’re lucky. I understand that this planet fitness is not built in a way that it can accommodate truck parking, but putting barricades outside your property!! Come on now!!! WE KEEP AMERICA FUNCTIONING LIKE CLOCKWORK. Yet you hate truckers so much? Absolutely sad. Truckers please stay away.

This place has definitely went down hill, you have to wait forever for a machine to be free so you can use it. the paper towels are always empty, something is always broken. Today the water machine is broken. When asked what I was supposed to do about getting water the employee suggested drinking from the sink. Disgusting!! Either that or I have to pay 3.00 for a bottled water.

Showers = DISGUSTING! I'm giving 2 stars because the gym itself appears fairly new and had adequate space and equipment. But the showers look like they never get cleaned. Hopefully this review changes that, but in the meantime, avoid if you plan to shower.

Nice, clean facility with very friendly and helpful staff. After visiting several PF's, and seeing the varying equipment they have I do wish they had a plate loaded glute bridge machine (to free up smith racks) and a total gym ab machine (has 5 or 6 exercises you can do on it and utilizes minimal space).

Just a great experience with the front counter person. He went above and beyond to fix what someone else seemed to mess up got me squared away yesterday morning. Kinda pissed off. I came in yesterday to talk to them about showing me how to use equipment. The trainer told me to come back the next morning (today) so I did.. I sat for 2 hours waiting for the trainer just to watch her stand around and talk. By the time I got to my car I was in tears because I really wanted someone to show me how to use the equipment and teach me about the gym…… honestly heart broken if we are being honest. Doesn’t really make me want to keep trying to do what’s best for me at this point.if you want a rude trainer and rude workers, this is the place for you. I 10/10 do NOT recommend

I have just began training at Planet Fitness. I was asked by woman if it was worth it. I have to say Yes it's definitely worth it! I've lost weight ....toned up... and I'm stronger ...and more.... my doctor told me to keep it up and in 6 more months I'll be off some of my blood pressure meds. It reduces stress. I love love love the hydromassage. I'd recommend it. If you retire and you're sitting home. Why not get fit??

My last review was a year ago and I gave it 5 stars but I need to revise that because in the last month I identified an issue ( no hot water in the showers ), to the manager, and also to regular staff, and nothing has been done. I’ve attended this gym for 5 years so I’m very familiar with the facility. The water temperature has definitely been turned down so it’s barely lukewarm and you come out of the shower freezing. The manager brushed me off with the response that the fixtures are “tricky” . Yet, the shower fixtures are the same ones that have been there for 5 years and this problem just began about a month ago. The water temperature needs to be turned back up on the water heater!

UPDATE 1/18/25. The owner left a message on my phone that a plumber had “finally” shown up to fix the hot water problem. Okay, yes, I can confirm that the hot water issue has been fixed but I know that adjusting the temperature on a water heater does not require a plumber. I’ve adjusted the water heater temperature at various times myself on properties I have owned so I appreciate it’s been fixed but I’m confused about the explanation?

First workout in this town.
Compared to other Planet Fitness's this one is on the upper scale. Clean and organized equipment, staff is nice, everything is spaced out nicely. My wife and i travel the country for work and have a planet fitness membership because they're everywhere.

I’m not one to complain, but I’m tired of this. Planet fitness you guys gotta do better then this. Few days ago I was working out at a bench station, this cleaning lady came up started to clean my area while I’m benching. No regard of personal space. Im not Complaining how she clean but she have to give people space while they’re working out. Go clean somewhere else until I’m done. Today October 10 in the “Men Locket Room” there were a few guys in there, taking a shower changing and doing their personal business. I was taking a shower getting ready for work. I’ve been coming to this gym for a while now and the new assistant manager has been nice along with the new hires I’ve met. However, they appear to have staffing issues because I have met multiple different managers in just this past year and they have mostly all left. This issue has made my gym experience not the best because there is so much change and I can clearly see the staff isn’t happy.

I really like this gym. It is very large, so when the parking lot looks full it is never crowded inside. They have all kinds of machines to workout on; cardio, weights, and stretching. There is an area for a 30 min full body workout as well. There are free lockers without locks, but no one has ever taken my stuff. There are showers available to use as well. If you are a black card member (I am not) you can tan, use the massage table and bring a friend.

Well didnt get the chance to look around,but the only stand up tanning booth was the body enhancement booth which from my experience does not tan very much? I'm disabled and can't just get in a lay down bed. Wish to speak to a manager about this since this is the only one in the area. And to the snooty lady who did make a judgment about vagrants in black label area. Those homeless may very wellby have a black card membership!
I know I do and just relocat3f here from Atlanta ga. And until I am able to find a plac3 to live am gomel3ss.

Only one staff member working, and she was on the phone when we walked in texting on her cell phone, did not acknowledge anyone who had walked in. Facility is very dirty, Band-Aid on the floor in the tanning room, men's bathroom is filthy when I came in and 2 hours later when leaving it is still filthy nobody is walking and cleaned anything whatsoever to include the sinks mirrors floor etc. All the machines were functioning, not too busy at all, here's the plenty of parking, RV friendly and 18-wheeler with just a tractor no trailer friendly.

The Planet Fitness where I come from in Indiana has said trainers that spend time with you and also they got better equipment. A lot of the equipment they got at the Kingsport Planet Fitness needs to be fixed and gone over and oiled greased

It has gotten worse, staff is rude, they only have member orientation sesssions till early afternoon, only one night with later sessions, sometimes no one is at the front desk for help, and then two consecutive mornings, this week, I went to PF and asked for Sydney so she could email me the design your own program schedule that got accidently erased on my phone, couldn’t get a hold of her one morning and had to go back Wednesday morning, had to wait 40 minutes for her, had to knock on the door not knowing how much more time I would have to wait, almost lost my job that morning, because of the delay, I will plan to go elsewhere for my workouts.

It was very easy to sign up for a membership. I walked in and asked. The staff member was very friendly and helpful. I love how easy it is to check in to work out.
