Being a member of planet fitness, i am happy to say that i am very pleased with the gym. The price is decent. The staff are amazing. Bobby, Sebastian, and Daniel are awesome. They are so welcoming and friendly. They always greet when i come in. They are very sweet and helpful. They always make sure the gym is clean at all times. They always there to make sure we are well equipped and motivated to workout. I find the centreville branch is unique compare to other location. The machine are cleaned. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone who wants to get healthy and strong.

UPDATED: I am adding a new picture, my original post was 2 months ago and the bloody booger on the wall is still there. Also all 3 showers now are ice cold water only.
Planet fitness response below is a joke. I should contact the local management? Should I educate them on how to mop a floor too? If management had any competence they would do a daily walkthrough of their gym and fix this nasty locker room. All the walls are gross and have never been wiped down it's just hard to capture it in a photo. Canceling membership.

Nice gym equipment but the bathrooms are disgusting. Their version of cleaning the bathroom is slapping as much water as possible on the floor. Nothing is ever dusted, or wiped down, dirty q-tip has been in one of the many lockers without doors for months, bloody booger smeared on the wall of a changing room has also been there for months. Only 1 of the 3 showers has hot water.

My wife and I canceled our OneLife Fitness Fairfax memberships after our first tour of Planet Fitness Centreville. OneLife was often filthy, their equipment was old and rundown, and their price hikes this year after purchasing 24 Hour Fitness were unacceptable to us. In contrast, Planet Fitness Centreville is extremely clean and well kept, the equipment seems new, the bathrooms are always spotless and smell good, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The lockers and amenities are also excellent. Along with that, the price of membership is very reasonable. This is my first time being a member of Planet Fitness and I’m very happy with my choice.

Disappointed with the Management

I’m very disappointed with the management of this fitness center. I came today ready to exercise, the facility closed until 5 PM. The worst part? No one informed us! They have everyone’s phone numbers and email addresses, yet there was no text or email notification.

It’s 2024, and we’re still relying on signs at the door instead of using basic technology to communicate with members. This lack of professionalism is truly upsetting, especially for a community like Chantilly that deserves better.

The facility I go to is close by. It is very inexpensive and has a full complement of machines with multiple machines of every type. It is not crowded, especially the hours I use. Decent gym, but needs to add more weight and should have more than just two machines. There is a limitation on space, so I understand that, but having two machines makes it harder to have a fast workout. Also, some of the machines sometimes are broken and it takes a few days or over a week to fix them. The lockers are convenient and free and overall its clean.

2023 update: gym is completely rundown. A good portion of the popular machines were broken. I counted 4. None of the trashbins have a simple mechanism to dispense paper. And no soapy water. Owners need to reinvest in the business.

I use Planet fitness all around the country and this is a Mediocre (at best) location.
Worked out for almost 2 hours. No employees walking the floor to replace paper towel dispensers that were empty, numerous people just sitting on their phones and not using equipment causing others to have to wait or choose not to use that equipment, multiple workout machines out of order, employees with headphones on behind the counter and goofing off, dirty equipment (and not many at this location clean after equipment use) which seemed to be the expectation based on employee behavior.
Locations looks to need some better management and expectation of the entire staff.

I have been going to this planet fitness for about 8 months:

Pros:
-Membership price
-Clean equipment
-Usually not too busy when I go
-Lockers lock without requiring me to bring my own lock
-Massage chairs themselves are so nice

Cons:
-I have lost track of times that the front desk staff are not present after my workout in the morning. As a result, I cannot get set up with the massage chairs. I wait and walk around looking for them but usually cannot find them. When I do find them, I feel like I'm asking for the world, when I just want to get set up on the massage chairs. Overall, not the biggest deal in the world, but still frustrating.
-Rarely receive a friendly greeting from the front desk when I come in. Maybe because it's so early. Not sure.

Overall:
I would recommend this gym if you're looking to get a workout in for a great price. If you're looking for anything beyond that, it may not be worth it.

NEVER EVER Coming back to this gym. I had my membership cancelled because they misgendered me! For a place that’s claims to be a “No judgement zone” I was judged for my gender! I am a male who identifies as a female and they made it such a big issue as my account is female. They asked for my Id which I did not have on me as I went with a couple of friends and they made me leave! 15 minutes passed and I got a cancellation document and when I called Edith said I was being rude?! I love this place and have been coming since they opened in 2016. The recent cardio equipment updates are amazing! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they're not open 24 hours on the weekends anymore, and I have to use the other location. I was told they would be going back to 24/7 eventually, but that was over a year ago and it hasn't happened yet. It's super disappointing to me as a night owl (especially on the weekends!!). When you sign up with the black card you're supposed to be able to use any PF location, but you can only use the other Centreville location a certain number of times per month otherwise you have to pay extra or become a member of that location also, so it's a little misleading in my opinion. I'm still holding out hope that Westfields PF goes back to 24/7!!

The gym is ok but they refuse to let me cancel after i moved. I went into the location in person, as required to cancel membership in May 2021. I was told i was all set and my membership would finish the month and be done. On Sept 28th i noticed a charge from PF and looked back and they started charging me again after a month pause after my initial request to cancel. I called the location immediately and spoke with the desk person and a manager, who assured me it would be taken care of. I just joined yesterday, the $25 per month membership. The one where you "get it all"...not really. Read on. This location (Westfields, in Centreville) has no personal trainer, and no group instruction sessions. Even though there is a big sign as you walk in with PF swag boasting their personal training group sessions. They don't exist here. If you want that, make sure your home club is the other Centreville location...the Multiplex location. It seems to offer more and you can sign up for them online. But since I made my home club the Westfields location, I cannot sign up for sessions at the Multiplex location online. Really dumb. So I went to change my home club, and you can't. Not until after 90 days. So I'm going to go in person and see if they'll take me for one of the sessions at the other location. Not a very good first impression so far. But the equipment is ok, the one staff member at the Westfields location was very nice, and yes, a few things were broke but there were still plenty of equipment to use. I guess that is probably the case at most gyms. I'm giving two stars for basically false advertising.

A few weeks ago I joined Planet Fitness on Westfields Blvd in Centreville. I have no complaints about the equipment. There are enough cardio and weight machines so I have never had to wait for one. However, my complaint is about the showers. There is no hot water! I have brought it to the attention of the management three times, and I’m always told, “The plumber is coming today/tomorrow to fix it.” This morning my plan was to workout, shower there, and go to an appointment. Instead, I had to drive back home to shower, which was a waste of both time and gasoline. This place does not deliver what it promised.

It’s an ok gym. Often times equipment remains broke for a long time (currently a tv has been broke for 2 months, shower hooks missing for 4 months, and one of the bikes has been down since COVID). Update after response,
The staff told me the manager has been made aware of the showers not providing hot water and other maintenance issues for months. I have complained for 3 weeks about the water temperature. No matter what time I go it’s cold. They stated the manager doesn’t want to hire anyone to repair the problems with the showers and broken equipment. So, why do I need to call the manager myself? What are you going to tell me? How many complaints does it take to have something fixed that all the staff have been aware of for months?
Consider this your phone call. Fix the hot water mixers so hot water comes out and clean the showers more often. Fix the broken equipment. Simple.

Good gym, not too crowded. I wish the dumbbells went higher than 75 and they had a barbell area for squats/bench/deadlift.

Andre or Andres from the front desk he has blonde hair and shaved sides. He is the best!! and very friendly!! He was so helpful with explaining an issue on my account during the morning rush and was able to multitask to assist members. This adult should be a general manager hopefully soon thank you for making my planet fitness experience a better one. When I first joined I had an issue with a front desk girl when this location initially opened up. I’m a pretty big guy I would like a linebacker for the NFL and she told me we don’t have 80 pound weights, I was devastated by her comment and explain to her don’t ever judge a book by its cover so that being said Andres is fixing my experience and helping me forgetting that negative experience I had in the past! He has made me feel better as a member and proud to be a member of planet fitness!!

PlanetFitness has complied with COVID-19 based restrictions, and has offered safe means to get your exercise during the pandemic. The individual spray bottles of disinfectant that you use before and after your workout on any piece of equipment, ensuring masks are worn as appropriate, social fitnessing 6 foot boundaries. Etc. I feel safe there. And this comes from a person with an immune deficiency.

UPDATE 08/31/2021
Have to change my 5 star to a 1 star now. Twice now I have come into this location to get my membership started under my health insurance plan and twice now the employee does not know how to do that. Seems there is never a manager here. Might try one more time and then it's Anytime Fitness only for me.
