This has been my gym for many years. This year PF decided to let kids workout for free all summer. This was the worst decision PF has ever made as those kids are so irresponsible. They are on their phones all the time taking forever to finish their sets. They are sitting there posting on social media. This has made the workout for regular, lifelong members just terrible.

Very disappointed with this place. They charged me two times over my EECIA plan, which I had to pay $25, and on two occasions they charged me $40 supposedly for paying late, but it's impossible since my account is on automatic debit. It is always humid in there, something blocks your data and their WiFi never work or is slow. The walls are rotting. SOME OF the staff at check in is always making big deals on everything when clearly the memberships are active and payed. They can’t even communicate right just attacking when clearly showing them your app they don’t even know what it means. Questioning identity like they are the police? I like the machines and equipment but sometimes the smith need oiling because they get stuck while doing a set.

I'm not normally one for posting reviews, but I felt the need to do so regarding this PF, which is actually a pretty nice gym despite what I am going to write. My concern is that I have noticed an increase in the stench of marijuana coming from the men's locker room. I attribute the odor to some patrons smoking marijuana in the parking lot before going into the gym and the odor remaining in their clothing and hair. Although, there is the potential that someone is doing it in a stall. I can't be sure, but it has not been isolated. And, the odor is sufficiently notorious so as to likely to be known by anyone nearby including PF staff. The criminality of public use and general annoyance notwithstanding, a patron under the influence creates a range of liabilities for PF, the staff, and the patrons.

I love PF Fairfax. The gym is very well equipped, super clean, lots of daylight, great atmosphere, and the staff is professional and courteous. They offer a variety of classes to choose from. I attend the gym with my husband 5 to 6 times a week and enjoy every minute of it. We easily spend 2 hours at the gym working out at our own pace and end our routine with a hydro massage. We feel welcomed, our privacy is respected, and we feel fit and refreshed when we leave. All aspect of the facility and staff are superb. Look forward to our next visit.

Exceptionally clean gym. You could eat off of the floor of the men’s locker room. It always smells pleasant and the air is always moving to prevent any lingering odors.

Equipment is well maintained and doesn’t show any sign of age. When a machine does breakdown, it is repaired by the end of the week.

Essence and Michelle run their team very well. There’s never a lot of time to stand around and everyone is buzzing with work. The employees who have worked at this location longer (Haset, Shafiqa, Nayesha) have trained the newer employees (Shelley, Ken, Thomas) exceptionally well. Even new employees are very knowledgeable and happy to help. Thomas, Shafiqa, and Nayesha are some of the best workers I’ve seen in any business.

Charles is of course the best employee in the gym and should be promoted.

One of the better PFs in the area. Staff is very welcoming and doesn't hassle customers with all of PF's stupid little rules. In particular, this is a good place to multi-task and have that business or personal call while you are on a treadmill or sitting on a piece of equipment just to chill. And, no need for headphones while you listen to your music or stream a video.
Also, staff finally relented on the rule against having gym bags on the floor. I appreciate that because I don't like taking mine to the locker room which often reeks from the occasional gaggle of patrons who think that bathing in Drakkar Noir is reason enough to not wipe down equipment after use. But, that's not PF's fault.

My only con to all the pros is that the place could use a deep cleaning. Chasing dust bunnies with a feather duster ain't cutting it.

Despite advertising the free one-day trial all over the internet, this location refused to allow me a one-day trial. I know two other people who used a trial for free multiple days at this exact location less than a few months ago and I went through the app and everything and was asked to pay $20. Update on November 25, 2024: It is very alarming to notice that half of the weight machines are in need for repair or have been placed on repair for some time. It takes so long to get them fixed. The remaining half definitely needs very important maintenance work such as tightening belts or cords, adjustments, cleaning, and replacing missing or damaged signs.

I still enjoy coming here even though it started having some maintenance problems. The staff members are great and super friendly! No worries here for sure. I noticed the gym cannot keep up with routine maintenance. Some exercise equipment are showing deterioration such as rusting, unusual sounds, missing labels, and piled dirt while others that are broken are taking to long to get repaired.

I have been going to this location for about 6 years now and even though I moved to Falls Church, I still drive out here to use the gym. 2 stars only because of the price and the friendly staff (who are understaffed) but they're trying their best even as PF corporate seems to have dropped the ball on this location for months. 3 stars knocked down for issues with cleanliness, lack of A/C working for weeks, to the overcrowding in summer and the ChatGPT/Grammarly AI like replies being made here to reviews bringing up serious concerns about this location. Even though I've had a membership with this location for years it's never been like this in the past. I haven't been going as often but now even less as I noticed how much this location has been going downhill.

First off, A/C not working during a historical heatwave is dangerous. At least bring commercial sized fans but oh wait.... there's another problem, those fans would likely blow around all the dust bowl sized dirt and dust from dead skin to hair that has been accumulating around machines that hasn't been cleaned for weeks! But maybe that will make people who mindlessly come here thinking this location is clean maybe wake up and realize how dirty this place has become. At least, it seems like only the bathrooms are being seriously maintained. Also the amount of times I've gone at least 2-3 times a week the past month and there isn't paper towels to wipe down machines people use. Can't someone in headquarters have the decency to cut this location a check for Sam's/Costo run for paper towels? Most of all, a lot of the country has been going through an awful and historical heatwave just because some customers leave replies saying they're cool with the so called 'hot yoga' atmosphere from lack of A/C shouldn't undermine the complaints about the hot temps for both the safety of your customers and employees!

Please PF corpie overlords, get this place back to what it used to be like. I know the pandemic has hit gyms hard but just because there are customers who find the subpar conditions acceptable because it's the most affordable option isn't an excuse or reason to let this location fall behind. Been coming to this location for years, it used to be one of my favorite locations in the DMV, but lately it has become the absolute worst. -0 stars is my rating. Extremely high turnover rate for employees, there is rarely anyone at the front desk. The AC has been out of service for at least two months, keep in mind, it’s summertime, it’s blazing outside. Yesterday, while working out in the sweaty heat, I saw roaches crawling on the floor, the sight made my skin itch real bad. I was so grossed out. The other day they completely ran out of paper towels. People couldn’t wipe down the equipment, people were going around sweating, sharing body fluids, and spreading diseases. In my opinion, that should’ve been a reason to shut down the location for the day, for the public health safety of everyone. It’s dusty and dirty overall. A lot of equipment stays out of service for long periods of time. The massage chairs and massage beds barely work, and need a serious upgrade. I travel a lot, I have been to many other PF locations around the country, with much newer equipment, and cleaner facilities. I will no longer go to this location. A total disappointment, I have completely given up on it. I will try the next closest PF location, before I seriously consider canceling my PF membership all together. These last few months have truly turned me off, after being a loyal PF member for over 10 years!!!

The quality of this facility has taken a nose drive in the past couple weeks. Current issues; no AC or paper towels to wipe of the machine and broken equipment. I can understand the AC issues, but management should purchase industrial fans to keep this place cool, especially when it’s 95 degrees outside. Closing the window shades will help keep it cool in here. There were no paper towels when I can in today, instead there was toilet paper rolls to use when wiping down the machines. Walmart is literally down the street. Purchase some paper towels! For the past several weeks, multiple machine have been out of order.

I hate to post this review about this planet fitness which as of today, it used to me my favorite to attend and also where I actually opened up my membership a couple of years ago.

Sadly, I've seen this place slowly but surely going down hill in all ways possible. Front desk is unattended these days, machines are broken, paper towel stations are empty, bathrooms are filty and TODAY, someone decided to cut my locked lock open and steal cash out of my wallet. Not only that, but whomever did this threw my bag with some of my belongings on the floor across the locker room. I know there's a big clear sign as soon as you enter the locker rooms that reads "Planet fitness is not responsible for any stolen or lost belongings" and that sounds fair, bit when you put a lock on and people still manage to actually break in, that tells you something about the people that come here and the people the work here who obviously don't care. To make matters worse, ss soon as I realized that they messed with my stuff, I grabbed the rest of it and went out to the front desk, only to realize that no one was there just like it was when I walked in more than an hour earlier.

This is ridiculous and unfair. I am closing my membership and going to another gym as soon as tomorrow.

Everyone else, please beware of this planet fitness location. I actually spoke to a couple of other guys in the men's room and they said they got their stuff stolen as well in the past, not sure why they still kept coming back after that though.

Whoever (a manager?) Stated it takes time to order replacement curtains - welp, we're up to month #4 and they're still there.

Cheap, big and everything is usually working. Occasionally the paper towel dispensers are empty, but there are so many scattered around that it's a short enough walk. It's often busy , so if you have a specific routine in mind it may be hard to go uninterrupted, but the people that go there are pretty decent and respectful of everyone else and don't linger long.

So far planet fitness has been a great experience. I've been going consistently for over a month and the facilities are always clean and I feel welcome by everyone inside. I enjoy being able to go in and get my workout done. I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a relaxing and inviting environment for anyone seeking to get started on their workout journey.

Pictures speak for themselves. Bathrooms appear to have never been cleaned and disinfected. The shower curtains and other surfaces are moldy. Everything is weirdly covered in dust. And there’s always rotation of toilet paper, cigarette butts, and other waste on the floor of the toilet stalls.

All the tvs have the sound turned all the way up. So I had a great time trying to run with Fox News, cnn, and espn, all at the same time.

Radio censored cardi b turned up so loud the speakers are distorting and vibrating the windows, and its impossible to drown it out. One of the urinals broken and spraying water everywhere. Dirty showers.

Employees having a great time together at the front desk but apparently have not been trained on how a tv works, or how the sound sytem works and said there's nothing they can do. Would give a 0 if possible

The roof leaks water onto the gym. Had a complaint about one staff who was not polite. Reached out to the manager twice and left a messages to call me back but the manager is not responsive. Had to cancel my membership. I guess you get what you pay for.

This facility takes forever to fix equipment. Currently there are only 3 stair master machines. One of them is not working for a long time. They need to fix these machines or get new ones.
