I have to give this gym a five star rating. Unlike others, I’m not walking into a gym looking for customer service, I’m trying to work out. I’m a Black Card member but I rarely use the Black Card amenities. I’m giving this gym five stars because it has some really cool new equipment that allows you to get an amazing total body workout experience. Everything I need is in this gym! Bravo PF!!!!!!!

This black girl has been rude and slacking, we entered, greeted her, and she was minding her own biz, gave us a glance but ignored us,
Later I went to counter to request massage chair, another gentleman helped me while she was still sitting there having her legs up , headphone on, swiping her phone and not doing anything but presenting in a rude manner,
Is she resigning? Even if she is getting fired she should have done what she is paid to do.
I have been with this PF for a year but I’m leaving, this is not a gym id go.

No hot water in this location, I mentioned it to front desk staff several times but they didn’t have an answer, so if you’re planning to take shower after your workout, don’t come to this location unless you’re ok taking cold shower especially that cold weather is approaching. Some staff are unprofessional and don’t treat clients nicely, they are either on their phone or have headphones on and dont want to get bothered by clients. They don’t greet people and when they’re being approached at front desk, they ignore you unless you wave at them or say “ excuse me “ out loud.

Almost the perfect gym. The only downside is that the showers are cold. While advantages of cold or warm shower after workout isn’t a Zero Sum game, it would be much better to have the option of either cold or warm showers

Very nice new gym. However, only about 10% of my morning visits has there been hot water in men’s showers. I have tried leaving the water on for extended periods but still no hot water. Staff at front desk says management is aware of the problem. Seems like 5 months (opened last April) is long enough to get this fixed. When winter arrives no way to take a shower in this cold water. Recently, I visited another Planet Fitness in my area and the shower water was hot instantly. A second issue today when I arrived at 7:15 am noting they open at 7:00 am. Doors were locked and lights out. Apparently, someone did not show up for work. Me and several other waiting members left because no way to know when someone would actually arrive. So much for working out before work.

It’s 7:30 AM and the parking lot is full of gym members waiting to get in the gym. No staff has showed up to open the gym. What a disgrace. Obviously the owner of this gym isn’t paying attention

Super clean gym, has a hip thrust machine which my home gym doesn’t and a bunch of other new machines. I actually drive out to this one instead of my home one because of how much parking, space and how clean it is

The gym is comfortable and clean but unfortunately if you wanna use massage chair you cant find anyone because just one guy doing all works from gym which is weird and massage monitor is not working

Also please put paper station to the center of the gym as well cuze we go very end of the gym to get a paper each time

I recently visited planet fitness and overall had a good experience but had an unfortunate experience with one of the front desk staff, Mariah. From the moment I arrived, her attitude came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. Her facial expressions and body language made it clear that she wasn’t interested in helping members, and instead of engaging with guests, she seemed more focused on chatting with her coworkers.
As someone who values a positive and professional atmosphere—especially at the front desk, which sets the tone for the rest of the place—it was disappointing to feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued member. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses it, as the first point of contact plays a crucial role in the overall member experience. Thanks!

Truck driver so parking is the first concern. It seemed ok, no overnight parking signs but if you leave in the middle of the night is that considered overnight? Lost points with me big time because the showers had very little water pressure and the water stayed COLD…… the rest of the equipment was up to par and water fountain was cold. Disappointed with the shower and that’s an important part to me. Please don’t tell me to talk to the front desk, that’s the reason for writing these. Take the issue and fix it or don’t it’s up to you

This Planet Fitness has an amazing layout. In addition to the main floor that contains all types of workout equipment, there are two other rooms/areas with additional equipment. This particular location is built to handle many people working out at the same time. My only gripe is that they were out of almost all of their liquids (Gatorade, water, etc). Other than that, this location is amazing.

Showed up for a workout at 6:45am on Monday March 31st to a locked, dark, and closed gym with no employees in sight. Hours are listed online, in app, and on the doorway as 5am-11pm on mondays. Saw many members show up, try the door, and leave. Not a good look.

It is 3/31/25 5:33am and all your morning crowd has left and is pissed off. Your hours are already bad but in addition to that it is a consistent issue that the worker who opens up in the morning shows up right at 5am and opens up a few minutes later. Today was the worst it’s 5:30am and we are still waiting outside the gym. No one ever showed up to open. This is ridiculous.

This gym is quickly going downhill. Picked it because it was close to home but will have to go back to Golds for reliability.

If you are serious about running this business/gym. Hire reliable staff, update your hours, and try to at least match your closest competitor in hours and customer service.

They need to fix the showers at this location, it takes 5 to 8 minutes to get hot water !
I talked to staff couple of times and nothing was done , they asked me if I'm using it correctly..! It's dam hot water , it's rocket science!

The price is great and cannot be beaten. That being said, too often the gym music is set at a volume that conflicts/competes with my music playing in my ear buds. I could put my volume up higher and risk damaging my hearing, but that is not a real option.
To be fair, the staff did lower the volume and walked throughout the gym and was satisfied that is was low enough. It was not.
In today's day and age, most people have some type of ear phones, so playing music over the gym speakers is unnecessary. I'm leaving to go have a good workout at my workplace gym. Very disappointed.
As of Feb 22, 2025, nothing has changed. Music still playing loud enough to be distracting. TVs can be listened to using Bluetooth. Hhmm, why aren't they playing outloud? Because it would just be noise as they would all be competing. Same logic should be applied with the music be played all throughout the gym. It's competing with everyone's personal devices we listen to. We can still hear the music coming from ....I'm sure you all get the point. It's frustrating, annoying and makes no sense. If anyone knows of a gym that does not play anything through ceiling speakers, please let me know. I would really like to switch. Thanks.

Review for Planet Fitness – Lorton, VA

I recently signed up for the Black Card membership at Planet Fitness in Lorton, VA, which includes the perk of bringing a guest. After about three weeks, I invited a friend to try the gym with me, as she was interested in signing up for the Black Card membership as well.

Upon arrival, a lady at the front desk confirmed that my friend could use the facilities as a trial for the day. We toured the gym, and everything seemed fine—until we returned to use the water bed and Beauty Angel machine. That’s when we encountered a staff member named Core, who was unnecessarily rude. He flat-out refused to let my friend use the amenities, even though another staff member had already approved it. After I explained the situation, he begrudgingly allowed her to use the machines but only for half the time, and he made it clear that he was doing so in a very dismissive and unprofessional manner.

What makes this even more frustrating is that the gym was completely empty—there was absolutely no reason to deny her full access, other than what seemed to be a power trip. My friend was so put off by the poor customer service that she decided not to sign up, and honestly, I don’t blame her. I’m now canceling my membership as well because I refuse to support a business that allows staff to treat paying members so poorly.

If you’re considering joining this location, be aware that customer service is severely lacking. It’s disappointing because the facilities are decent, but the way members and their guests are treated makes it not worth it.

Very bad stuff not professional at all very aggressive and 0 experience how to deal with people not customer specially Ashley I have a black card me and 6 of my family I went with my sun 17 years old I forget my bag at home went back to get it the yang guy at the front desk was flowing my sun and kick him out of the gym because I left him for 5 mins went back to see what is going on Ashley was very aggressive with me and yelling she called me a cheap guy and she told me get out of the gym really don’t understand how she dealing with members like that I canceled my membership and I will tell all my family and friends to cancel with them we really don’t need this attitude in our neighborhood very bad customer service don’t west your money and energy and stay away from this gym don’t recommend at all will go back with gold’s gym way better customer service and bigger gym stay away from planet fitness.

I have been in this area from last 15 years never see this bad attitude in our neighborhood

Great little gym, friendly staff, clean (for now, everything is new), but the members are questionable. In the past month, I have seen several underaged members rummaging through other male members' lockers. I have also seen them running out of the back door with items (which should only be used for fire emergencies).

When I asked the staff what steps were being made to improve security, they could not give me a complete answer; 'We're working on it.'

I'd advise any potential members to buy and use a lock to store your valuables in the locker room, or to seek another gym location in a more 'courteous' area.

FYI the photos posted by the business are of other locations, none of the photos I see posted by the business are photos of the actual gym at Lorton. The two stars are because of that deceptive practice, the gym itself I would give 4 stars. The space is large, clean, everything works, usually easy to park. I have not seen it crowded yet and it is easy to use any machine you want to with no wait. The only problem I have is with the really short hours on the weekends. Monday to Thursday they are open until about 10:45, but on weekends they start turning off lights and closing up as early as 6:30 pm.

Not sure why this PF location and staff are not receiving better reviews. I guess people expect the world for $20 monthly! I'm a black card member and have never experienced anything negative and staff personnel have been friendly and courteous every visit (more than 23 times since mid November 2024). Maybe those that need their hands held can ask for help using equipment, but I have seen staff assisting members on multiple occasions. This place is an awesome addition to our community and deserves better recognition.

This place was a huge disappointment. It’s probably a great place if you know how to use the equipment, because there is a lot of it, and there aren’t many people using it. But, if you’re like me and it’s your first time back in a gym for a while, or maybe you are just starting out for the first time, there is zero help available. Today there was one staff member at the desk, and that was it. Nobody available even to demonstrate the equipment. None of the things that were advertised and that got me to sign in - like a personal fitness plan, or even small group classes, seem to be on the menu. I was told there are QR codes on the machines to show me how to use them. That’s no substitute for a human being. I’m not risking injury just as I’m getting back to trying to get in shape. Real shame because this place could be phenomenal with just a little more investment in people.

Arrived on 11/28 at 0700am. Lights off and locked doors. Empty and no employees in sight. Posted holiday hours are from 0500 to 1200 (PF Lorton website, Google, and the front door).

I’ve been going to Planet Fitness for a long time, and I usually visit a location in a different town that is absolutely awesome. The staff there always welcomes me and makes me feel invited and at home. I got a Black Card specifically to come here when visiting family, but my experience at this location has been quite different.
Unfortunately, the workers here never even acknowledge me. While my workouts are fine, the overall environment feels hostile. I really miss the friendly atmosphere I’m used to. I hope that the staff can improve their engagement with members because it makes a huge difference in the gym experience.

It’s a great gym but the hours need to be changed. I initially thought the hours would be 24 hours during the week. That’s what was initially posted. However I showed up to the gym at 4am and it was still closed. Please consider changing the hours. That has always been one of the benefits of a Planet Fitness.
