Planet Fitness has created one of the most inviting, safe, and genuinely welcoming environments I have ever stepped into. From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the positivity and encouragement in the air. The staff at this location truly go above and beyond to make every member feel seen, valued, and supported. They consistently create a space of belonging, one where every person, regardless of background or fitness level, can find their own strength.

I have never experienced a better gym than this one. The team here sets the standard for what every Planet Fitness location should aspire to be. Their kindness, dedication, and uplifting energy have played an enormous role in my fitness journey, and I am extremely thankful for the support they’ve shown me along the way.

I just left that place a little while ago, wanting to activate my membership, and communicating with this girl was difficult; she wasn't friendly at all. She's a young woman who was there with an older gentleman. She wasn't pleasant at all; her attitude was rather rude, so I don't think I'd go back to that place.

I’ve been going to PF for 3 years and I originally started at the Mechanicsville location, but after I moved and my girl Rae transferred of course I had to hit up WL. Besides being a cheap, clean, easily accessible place to get my workouts in, it’s the kindness of the staff that’s kept me coming and I would recommend to everybody. It has always been a positive experience.

This is a lovely location. I am usually in with the 5AM crowd. I wanted to compliment Zakeed (sorry if I misspelled) and Madison are always super helpful and they do a great job keeping it a clean and safe place to work out.

I wish there were ceiling fans througout the facility. I know its still fairly new. But we need something to get the air moving especially in the far back room where the ab/adductor machines.

I also frequent the Gaskins location and I noticed I often get overheated here at this one because there isn't any fans moving the air like it is at Gaskins. I usually come in to do Cardio here in the morning and I do weights 3 days a week at Lunchtime at the other location because it's not too far from my Office.

If theres any thing you can do to get the air moving more that would be amazing 👏

I have been going to this Willow Lawn location since it opened up. The gym is very spacious and clean. I always see staff cleaning and they do a wonderful job. Madison at the front desk is extremely helpful, she answers any questions I have and always greets me with a smile. This is my favorite gym in the area!

I am so impressed with the staff at the Willow Lawn Planet Fitness especially Shaniqua. Her customer service skills are exceptional and after talking to me for five minutes, she was able to resolve a membership problem I created by accident and had tried to fix for an hour on my own on-line. She was calm and supportive when she could have just shut me down and told me no luck. She was resourceful and understanding and she is the reason why we are thrilled to be working out at Planet Fitness. Don't walk, run to get your membership. I promise, you will not regret working with the people at the Willow Lawn Club, they are an exceptional upgrade above all the competition! And Shaniqua needs a raise as I am sure she is worth twice what she is paid!!!

This location is the best in RVA in terms of equipment, cleanliness, and truly great staff, but it’s always so unbearably hot with no working AC. With summer temps near 90s daily in RVA, plus the smell of sweat, it’s just a super uncomfortable workout experience. It’s the only PF that I’ve seen this issue and that’s unfortunately why it’s a 3-star option.

Everything else is fine, and the 2 stars because there is AC everywhere else, BUT the actual gym area! Damn near passed out because of how damn hot it was I had to leave. Please do something about this or even consider turning the damn AC on.
Also considering it’s one of the new locations, I was expecting to see some of the new equipment they had added. But low and behold they don’t have it sadly. Have an excessive amount of benches for once but not equipment.

This is by far my favorite PF location because of proximity to everything I need, BUT BUT BUT this is one of the ‘new’ locations where they have NO CEILING FANS!!! It’s absolutely unbearably hot in this gym during during the summer. The locker rooms are the only place where you even feel the AC.

I asked staff about it and apparently PF went to ‘only forced AC’ when they built this location and it makes me hate it so much. And during peak time??? Miserable. Even the staff look hot. Management needs to install fans at the least to circulate the air more before somebody has a heat stroke. It’s ridiculous.

I liked the gym until I've encountered a large and loud group that works out in the morning...like 5am. I come to the gym early to avoid crowds but this location allows a workout group to monopolize the entire back area of the gym. Sucks! They are so loud.

Staff is always friendly. Jeremy is super cool. Alvin helped show me exercises and machines that can help me reach my fitness goals. I enjoy this place, only would like for this location to get a trainer for people who are new to using machines or want to check their form. Alvin would make a great one and he's already in-house! I went to the willow lawn location for the first time, I had been to other locations but this one tops them all! Clean, nice machines and the staff is super friendly! The Mgr. Mr Williams greeted me as I walked in, Tarja and Madison were awesome as well. I will continue to go to my other location only because it is closer but this one by far tops them all!!!!

Convenient location but the staff allows a trainer to hold training sessions all over the gym in the mornings. If you like a focused gym to get your workout in, this isn't the one.

Along with all the other downsides to a commercial gym, consider another location or chain all together.

The new planet fitness is excellent, I cant recommend it enough. What would make it more excellent would be to have on site, a medical grade scale and blood pressure cuff machine. Those of us that have medical conditions that we are trying to maintain or over come, or just simply trying to see a visual goal from our work at Planet Fitness would benefit greatly in real time. Anyone suffering with high blood pressure or medical conditions that require meds (that they would like to be off of) would appreciate both of these devices, I think they would see great use at all hours of business.

I went to the gym over a week ago to cancel my membership. The general manager, Gary Owens was the one that assisted me initially subsequently I ended up finding a pending transaction for my account of $35. I received paperwork showing that it was canceled when I went back into the home gym location colon, who was a very kind young man assisted me with my account and told me that Gary Williams started the cancellation paperwork but did not finish the paperwork therefore causing me to pay $30 out-of-pocket to fully cancel the membership plus an additional $35 pending to my account. This is UNACCEPTABLE ! I have been cheated now out of $60 all because Gary Williams the general manager failed to do his work properly. Now I have a suprise $50 deduction from my account so now I’m out $120 all because of a “ pending cancellation “ WHY IS IT NOT CANCELLED ! if you want to go to planet fitness beware you might have to pay an arm and a leg just to get out of

There are almost close to matching and out doing golds gym. Yall go ahead spend that money and upgrade mechanicsville location.

I was significantly over charged by a staff at the front for a black card membership (I was made to also pay a “late fee” despite it being my first month signing up?)

I tried calling the gym numerous times but their number doesn’t work and just hangs up immediately. I drove in person I let the manager, Jordan, know about this— and he ensured me that they would issue me a refund January 28th. Jordan let me know that the refund should issue in 4 days; I’ve been back to this location over 4x asking to fix this issue— it’s nearly a month later I am still not seeing the refund that I was promised reflected in my account. I called my bank and they said PF hasn’t even initiated a refund— Jordan had lied to me the 5x that he claimed to have initiated a refund. (Mind you, because their phone doesn’t work, each of these times I had to drive all the way to the gym— at a time when Jordan was at the gym— since he is the only one who can issue refunds)

I am a college student who signed up for a cheap gym because I simply cannot afford a 45+ dollar membership each month. It’s very disheartening that the manager has no regard for his customers. Jordan is very comfortable lying to the members and should be held accountable for his actions. If he was unable to issue me a refund, I would have preferred he expressed that to me rather than force me to drive to the gym upon four separate occasions because I’ve been waiting for a refund, which he promised, that has not yet hit my account.

I enjoy going to this gym everytime I visit. It is clean, has a good variety of machines, and plenty of free weights. It's never too crowded and you typically don't have to wait for a machine or bench to open up which I like. So far it was a great choice signing up for a membership and you get great membership perks.

Was a golds member for years in the fan but was disappointed. Made the switch to PF in Willow Lawn and SO glad I did. 1) Shoutout to the staff, they are fantastic. It doesn’t matter what time of day or night I come, every time they make you feel welcome and provide a positive experience. 2) Cleanliness - couldn’t be more impressed. No matter how busy or not, they do a great job at maintaining it and I appreciate that. 3) Price: the price I pay (black card member) is worth it. Massage & hydro chairs are great. Plenty of equipment for cardio & weight training, no matter what your skill level is. Keep it up yall!

I was highly antispating the opening of this new location because of the close proximity of this gym to my home. Advertisements were posted everywhere promoting a special offer where you could join the club as a "black card" member for the same price as a basic membership until January 11th. I went in to join the club and that was not the case. The "Black Card" membership was price with no special offer. The special offer was even present on the brochure at the clubs location but was crossed out in ink pen. Lol
