I’ve had a great experience at Planet Fitness Stony Point! The gym is always clean, well-organized, and welcoming. The staff is super friendly every time I walk in. AJ in particular is awesome and always cracks me up. She makes the place feel really comfortable and allows me to sing haha.

This is our gym and I really like coming here. All is good but ... In the ladies bathroom, two of the three sinks are not working and the third puts out little water. Several women have told the staff about this issue over the last several weeks and the staff has dutifully recorded it. Whoever is in charge doesn't seem to respond to this problem. Not acceptable.

Update: all sinks in the women's bathroom are working perfectly! Gym is back to its Gold Standard. Thank you for responding so quickly!!

I've been a member of planet fitness for about 5 years now.The only thing that ever bothers me about all of their locations is the fact that they have paper towels all over the gym floor but then none in the bathrooms.

ATTENTION :SILVER SNEAKERS and AARP/UNITED HEALTHCARE…STONY POINT LOCATION.
If you have mobility or joint problems,you maybe familiar with the NU STEP machine which allows a seated workout similar to a standing elliptical machine.It allows for an excellent full body workout in a seated position.
This is an extremely popular machine at this location and there is only ONE.At times there are 3-4 waiting to use this machine which usually takes an average of 15 minutes.
A number of months ago, I sent several emails to management requesting the purchase of an additional machine. Initially I received no response but was persistent and eventually was told no additional machine would be purchased with a vague possibility it might be considered in 2026.
I have collected the names of 13 club members who are requesting this machine and will AGAIN be submitting a request to management.It is my understanding that other Plant Fitness locations in the area have a second machine.
I have NEVER posted a one star online review.If this problem is corrected ,I will post a follow up review which is only fair.Let’s see what happens….hmm.

It took them nine separate requests over several months just to process a simple cancellation.

Despite knowing I had moved out of state, they insisted I fly back in person to cancel.

Only after escalating did a manager step in—yet they still refused to waive the fraudulent fees charged after my cancellation.

This kind of dishonesty and obstruction is not just unprofessional, it’s exploitative. I would not recommend doing business with a company that relies on deception to keep customers.

On 05/06/25, at approximately 6 pm, I came to this gym. I am a member of the Hull Street location. The customer service person told me that for 5 dollars I could use the gym because I belong to the other location. I said sure, I have the cash. Customer service person said we don’t take cash, only credit cards. I said, I am only using the gym for 30 minutes, I don’t have my credit card, he said no sorry. I drove back to work to get my credit card to pay the 5 dollars.

Managers do your job. Please train those kids to use discretion and to be more customer service friendly. I run a business. So I am giving you an “F” as a grade for the lack of customer service support from your staff. I called your corporate office. They stated any of the gyms can use discretion or issue a pass on a situation like this.

This was my first visit. It is a very clean gym with a nice layout. The employees were friendly and I loved the massage chair. There is an abundance of cardio machines and lots of weight machines that I plan to check out my next visit. Parking is not the best, but I found a decent spot after a few minutes.

Each one is different. I havevmy favorites and those I avoid. Timing of course is another thing all together. Everything you need for a good if not great workout is there.
Personally as an Uber driver it is in my best interest to have a black card. It makes it fun just to end up 200 miles from home and get the adrenaline pumping and those mental health chemicals flowing. Hot shower or possibly a massage and im good to go

I get it, Mother Nature decided to turn Richmond into an ice cube, and the showers and water facilities at Planet Fitness locations in Willow Lawn, Stony Point, and West End (outside of the city) were out of order. Totally fair—no one expects a gym to outsmart the weather. The City of Richmond’s water issues hit my neighborhood too, so I get it.

BUT... would it kill you to put this on your website or app? Instead, I got to learn about it the hard way after being blinded by multiple retina-scorching laser scanners during check-in.

Three stars for still having treadmills and friendly staff but next time, PF, how about saving my eyeballs and my time with a little notice?

I have been suffering from a terminal illness and in and out of the hospital for months. I have called and wrote emails to this location for them to cancel my membership and still I am not able to cancel my subscription for going on an entire year!!!!!! The people who have answered the phone has been rude and tell me that I have to walk into the club to cancel but I have explained to them that I am not able to physically walk into their location while I was admitted into the hospital and it’s very hard for me to move around when I am not in the hospital as well. I am going to with the help of my family hire a lawyer to sue after this point!!!!!!!! Do not sign up at this location if you have something unfortunate to happen to u in life!!!! They’ll just keep draining your bank account regardless of your efforts to terminate for any reason especially regarding health concerns, they can clearly see that I haven’t visited that club in over a year!!!!!!!!!

Been coming here for a while now and wow, this gym is awesome. The staff is awesome friendly and amazing, shoutout Xavier he is wonderful, and are always quick to help you out with whatever it is you might need. All the staff deserve a raise for having to put up with the uppity and high maintenance customers here and always managing to put a smile on. I have been using this location with my Black Card when I travel for work. The staff is amazing and very attentive. The gym is clean and well kept. The tanning beds need to have new bulbs I do not get any color at all after using the stand up beds at this location my home gym changes their bulbs and the beds are HOT. Good luck getting your membership canceled. Wasn't able to get there before they charged another $50 annual fee because of a serious family emergency. Called the day the fee was charged and asked if I could get refunded the annual fee if I came in tomorrow and canceled my membership. EXTREMELY rude staff member, Felicia, said only the GM could do it but there was a 99.9% chance it wouldn't happen. She refused to tell me when the GM would be there. I told Felicia I wasn't driving 40 minutes there unless I knew the GM was there. She refused and said every company has the same policy. I asked her to tell me just 1 hour the GM would be there, but she still very rudely refused. I'm shocked someone with her attitude still has a job. Very arrogant, snarky tone and horrible customer service.

As it Planet Fitness' reputation they really are inclusive and non-judgemental. Love it. But also meeting their reputation, there are always numerous pieces of equipment that are out of order and unusable.
I actually had a machine, literally, fall apart while I was using it. I brought the dismantled pieced to the front counter.
Please repair the machines Planet Fitness. You owe it to your paying members. They pay to have access to the whole gym and all the machines, not a portion of the machines.

Oh, and dress warm for your workout. They always have the a/c, even in the winter.

The staff was very friendly I watched both the Manager Morgan and the Assistant Manager Marquis helping a member that needed a little extra assistance navigate the machines. I consider myself to be a professional cleaner having cleaned residential and commercial units for over 19 years now and as much as I enjoy using Planet fitness equipment, the shower room is never ever cleaned, it’s only tidying up. They never clean the shower doors, walls and shower knobs. They never replace shower curtains unless obvious wear and tare. When I shower I use flip flops, gloves and try not to let the curtain touch me. I really think they should wash those curtain’s weekly, clean the floors, walls and knobs of the shower daily. Wether it be Weaved or Natural, HAIR BALLS are either in the shower stall or on the floor in a corner. It would be respectful if those women who shed clean up the nasty hair behind themselves. It’s 🤮 gross

By far, the best PF location in the Richmond area. Not just because it is the newest, but the staff is the best. They welcome you soon as you come thru the doors and another staffer is likely wiping down machines or restocking paper towels. This location is great! Granted, I went in the middle of a weekday, but everyone was very friendly! Awesome Awesome AWESOME PF. The best one I've been to in Virginia so far. As soon as I walked in I felt a great level of comfort and took pride in the fact on how clean, detailed and spacious it is. Massage chairs are dope too. They give you 15 minutes for each session. It also has that new car smell throughout the gym. I'm guessing they are pretty brand new. Okay facility, bad billing experience.

There was an issue with my routing number and their use of a secondary payment method guarantees you get charged a late fee because they don't process it "in time". They also refused to offer grace in regards to this issue and were quite rude about it. The previous times someone mentioned something to me in person they said it was probably on their end because this gym just opened up so I didn't do anything about it.

A simple no problem let's fix it and I'll remove this charge would have changed my mind about this situation but because it was an unpleasant engagement and I'm still getting charged a late fee I'm leaving a bad review.

I have been going to this gym for several months now and highly recommend it! The staff are friendly, quick to answer any concerns or questions, and made the sign on process a breeze. The environment is always extremely clean and the friendly faces at the front desk make me feel welcome every time. I adore the features that come with the Black Card and find the spa to be well worth the extra money. If you’re looking for a great gym that doesn’t feel like you need to be years into your fitness journey while still have the necessary equipment even if you are years into your fitness journey, this is a great place.

Nice gym clean and bright. I misplaced my iPhone and looked all over for it. I finally asked one of the employees for help. She was busy using a vacuum cleaner but put it down to help me. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have found it. Very nice of her to help me out. 😊

This gym is in the perfect location (in the same shopping center as Trader Joe’s and Good Food’s Grocery store). It’s spacious, clean, and they have a variety of machines/equipment. I really like this gym layout compared to other planet fitness gyms in the area. Everything is spread out and it doesn’t feel cramped. Also, the hydro massage beds are in their own little rooms which is nice. Highly recommend!
