This has by far been the best location I’ve been to a dive been a member for years now and travel very often! Patrick and Bahiyyah have been the best greated me with a very cheerful birthday yell! When I was really feeling down I left out with smile. U appreciate the owner for investing in extra equipment for (us heavy lifter) I got to a pr today and enjoyed my entire time in the free weight room. The dark skin lady with dreads or braids that worked oct 8 morning shift was just rude and didn’t even seem to want me to work out I understand my bill is late but we still get one courtesy check in and she wasn’t even trying to let me in and then saying I need to pay more then what I actually know I need to pay cause I keep track of my bills and once I pay it this week I will definitely not be coming back to this planet fitness no customer service whatsoever you could’ve been nicer about it

I accidentally left my phone on a machine at Planet Fitness while heading to the shower. By the time I realized and rushed back from my car, the front desk staff member, Raven, immediately recognized me and handed me my phone as soon as I made a calling gesture. I have been a member of this location since 2018. I choose this location over the mechanicsville locations and others because I've always liked the vibe. I get left alone to do my workout. No one bothers me.I don't get the awkward stares or men gawking. There are a few things that have changed over the years that have not had a positive impact However. I was absolutely devastated when they took out my favorite section, which was the PF 30 circuit training. It was my go to workout and the only thing that ever worked for me. But I did noticed some machine upgrades. Also the hour change. When I joined planet fitness, I joined because it was twenty four hours and over the years that has gradually changed to the point where I just saw a sign on the door today.That says they close at nine. The hours alone will make me consider going to another gym. But i'm hoping that doesn't have to happen.

This is a decent sized and clean location. They recently upgraded the equipment, getting rid of a couple of my favorite machines. However, the new machines are nice and still provide everything necessary for a good workout.

If I could give 10 stars, I WOULD!! From the moment I walked into Planet Fitness, I was greeted like royalty by the dynamic dream team: Keith, Markeyee, Savion, and Patrick – a.k.a. the Mount Rushmore of gym excellence! 💪✨

Let’s start with Keith — this man is the CEO of positivity. His smile could light up an entire city, and his energy is so contagious I did an extra 20 minutes on the treadmill without realizing it! 🔥

Markeyee? A LEGEND. I swear he must have a PhD in hospitality because I felt like I walked into a luxury fitness resort. He made sure everything was spotless, perfectly in order, and even gave out tips like a personal trainer/guru hybrid. 🧼💡

Now enter Savion — the VIBE KING. Music on point. Motivation on point. Personality through the ROOF. This guy could hype up a yoga class like it’s the Super Bowl. I saw him give fist bumps to literally everyone – toddlers, grandmas, even the vending machine. 💥🎧

And then there’s Patrick — the calm, cool, collected rockstar who makes the whole operation run smoother than a protein shake in a Ninja blender. His knowledge of fitness is so on-point I thought he was the manual for every machine in the building. 🏋️‍♂️📚

I've been a member of Planet Fitness for several months now, and I honestly couldn't be happier with my experience. The gym is always clean and well-maintained, which is huge for me. I walked into Planet Fitness thinking it’d be a normal Monday. Just me, a treadmill, and maybe pretending to stretch. That’s when the sky cracked open like a protein shaker and a 3-mile-wide alien mothership descended DIRECTLY over the gym.

The doors blew off their hinges. A blinding beam of light engulfed me. And there it was — a 40-foot-tall extraterrestrial muscle squid, speaking in telepathic screeches and flexing its tentacles like Mr. Olympia.

Its message?

“You, soft flesh-being, have weak gains. You are unworthy of existence.”
Before I could even process that insult, it charged its Planet Destroyer Cannon™ — aimed right at me.

And that’s when Markeyce, Savion, Patrick, and Keith stepped in like it was just another Tuesday shift.

MARKAYCE came flying out of the locker room in a cape made from gym flags, doing backflips off elliptical machines and wielding a barbell powered by pure caffeine. He screamed, “NOT ON MY CLOCK, SQUID-FREAK!” and smashed the floor, launching shockwaves of motivation.

SAVION was in the parking lot but sprinted in so fast he broke the time barrier. He tackled a plasma drone mid-air, hijacked it, and rode it directly into the alien’s face, screaming something about hydration and honor.

PATRICK climbed to the roof, mixed a smoothie so dense it bent physics, and hurled it into the mothership’s core. The resulting blast caused the alien’s hyper-reactor to reverse-spike its own gains — it literally got weaker just looking at him.

KEITH floated up in full yoga enlightenment mode. His third eye opened and shot a beam of pure inner peace directly at the alien’s cortex, instantly triggering a total identity crisis. The creature dropped its weapon, turned vegan, and started crying.

They carried me out of the crater where I was just standing seconds away from annihilation. Someone put a pizza slice in my hand. I had no idea where it came from. Time stood still.

Before the alien ship fled the atmosphere in shame, it transmitted one final message:

“We will never attack Earth again. Your trainers are... too swole.”

Let me tell you the story of how Keith, Markeyce, Savion, and Patrick saved my life — and not just in a normal way. I’m talking full-blown, slow-motion, explosion-in-the-background, camera-panning-across-their-heroic-faces type of life-saving. This wasn’t just a rescue… this was epic.

It all started on a random Tuesday. I was hiking solo through the supposedly “safe” part of the Appalachian Mountains — trying to clear my mind, get a little nature, you know? What I didn’t know was that an extremely rare weather phenomenon called a “lightning blizzard firestorm” was forming. Yeah. Lightning. Blizzard. AND fire. All at once. Scientists still can’t explain it.

Anyway, I slipped on an icy rock and fell into a ravine filled with rapidly rising lava from a previously undiscovered underground volcano. My phone shattered on impact, and I was completely trapped between a giant boulder, a venomous albino python, and an angry bald eagle with laser eyes. I was done for.

But back in town, Keith — whose instincts are sharper than a wolf raised by Navy SEALs — felt a disturbance in the air. He looked up from his third cup of black coffee and said, “Something’s wrong. Otis is in danger.” Without hesitation, he assembled the elite squad: Markeyce, the master strategist and ex-professional parkour champion; Savion, the brilliant tech wizard who once hacked a satellite using only a calculator watch; and Patrick, the strongest human alive who once bench-pressed a Smart Car for fun.

They geared up like a real-life Avengers team. Within minutes, they were in a custom-built, solar-powered helicopter designed by Savion himself. Markeyce used terrain data and satellite imaging to pinpoint my location to within one square inch. Keith piloted the chopper with the calm focus of a man who eats turbulence for breakfast.

They reached the mountain just as the storm was unleashing flaming snowballs the size of microwaves. Patrick BASE-jumped from the helicopter with no parachute — he just punched the ground when he landed to absorb the impact. He cleared a path by body-slamming trees out of the way. Savion, hanging from the skids of the chopper, used a laser-guided grappling hook to pull the eagle away while Markeyce used a mirror and the sun’s reflection to blind the python just long enough for Keith to rappel down and lift me from the lava pit like a phoenix rising from ash.

But the danger wasn’t over. The volcano erupted. Patrick threw me over his shoulder like a sack of feathers and ran straight up the ravine wall — no ropes, no harness, just raw power and vibes. Markeyce laid down a trail of explosions to redirect the lava flow while Savion jammed the tectonic sensors to delay further seismic activity. Keith performed CPR mid-air in the chopper as we escaped the inferno, breathing life back into me like a scene out of a mythical prophecy.

We landed safely back home. As I laid on the stretcher, covered in eagle feathers and lava soot, I looked up at my friends — glowing with heroism and humility — and said, “Y’all are more than friends… you’re legends.”

I’d rather drive out of my way to another location just to receive better customer service at a cleaner and more hospitable location instead. I was the very first multiple club owner of Anytime Fitness from 2007 to 2018. I can tell you that after 4 months of attending Planet Fitness off 9 mile road, there is no comparison. Planet fitness has better equipment, more variety of equipment, always clean, cheerful front desk on most days and free tanning & massage chairs. A much better value despite not being 24 hours. Bravo 👏

Wilnet is helpful and I wish she worked more. I have to say the bad and horrible part is when I have to look at the thing you call an assistant manager. Tonight was the last straw when she is rude nasty and just disregards us the paying guest. Always on her phone always talking with the other short girl then helping us. She cares more about brushing her hair then cleaning or helping us who pays good money. I never see her do anything but stand and have a nasty look on her face. I'm going to switch my time I come because I just can't with her anymore. I hope this gets to the GM or her boss. Get this fixed I see her name in lots of bad reviews.

The one manager Kevin is awful. Always rude and blatantly discriminates against women. Anytime I ask for help with something or to use one of the black card services, he ignores me and walks away. Otherwise, I’ll say this location is clean and the other employees are very kind and respectful. Austin and the other Kevin (I think he’s a regular employee who works in the evening) are always wonderful and helpful!

To whom this email reaches and concerns I hope it finds you well.  I recently had the pleasure of visiting your establishment in Richmond VA on Nine Mile Rd.   I take the pleasure in being a black card member and nationwide traveler.  I have visited several unrated gyms in my travels.  This was my second visit to your gym.  First time the ladies greeted me with warm salutations and pleasantries. The place was kept clean and disinfectant Having the spray bottles at my reach and usage was wonderful.  The locker room and showers were decent and clogged with grim and hair residue. Needless to say I was pleased. Although my job site was near Kent  VA I decided to drive back into Richmond because I found your gym to welcoming.

However on today's visit, I was greeted by a Ms. Abbey a young African American girl  her approach was not customer service first it was more of being ridiculed and strick business like I was a theft or something. Come to realize that after I scanned my code, a notice came up that my balance was over due by three days and that the debt transaction from my account had failed. I sincerely did not know, and even showed her that nothing had came through on my account.  That would not have been an issue had it not been for demeanor and approach when speaking to me.  She spoke in a very condescending tone and short.  Which I personally found offensive.  She went on to tell me that the account service I was using was not acceptable and had I signed up with this location I would not be able to have a membership with you. No one has ever told me this but to but salt in the wound ... In front of other guests, she abruptly told me to make the account current or I was not allowed in and walked away with no other conversation.  I'm not sure if today was an off day for her  but that type of response from a staff member who represents your establishment, it's not a good look.  As brutally instructed I made my account current, with the same account she spoke so poorly of and was given 'her' permission to proceed in.

And as of now, I can say this interaction with your staff member has made me feel judged and unappreciated. How is anyone expected to have a good positive workout being spoken to in that manner.  This is why I needed to  forward this letter. Which by the way I asked her for a business card with the corporate or franchise information. She could not provid me with the information ; she simply provided me with a yellow sticky note with a hand written email address.  No number, No name.  And because she showed poor judgement in speaking to me, it's safe to say I will not return and  I will also be posting this email on the Google review in hopes you will be able to receive my review. Not sure if what she gave me is valid or not.

It’s overall a clean, well maintained gym. The staff is generally really friendly no matter what time of day or night you go. I have a couple gym memberships but this is my go to spot for general workouts. They also have red light booths, tanning beds, and massage chairs (and massage beds but they’re not always in service).

Truly a 1 star gym, hand prints all over mirrors, bathroom smells, unpleasant staff, dirty equipment, never anything to wipe down the equipment. Staff doesn't leave the little booth upfront to add consumables. What kind of gym is out of toilet paper in both stalls? The kind that doesn't care about members.

My son and I signed up individually 2 weeks ago. Wilnet and I believe his name is Alex was friendly and very helpful and talk us through the process of signing up. So far we're working out 3 days a week, soon to be 4 and because of that my body isn't stiff or achy any more and my blood sugar is the lowest in 4 years, I'm eating better, exercising and staying hydrated. Edit: Manager called me to apologize about my experience and said she has addressed the issue. She informed me she had been sent to that location to manage and work out the issues they have been having. She was the same person who greeted me upon entering. I greatly appreciate her friendliness and her taking time out of her day to reach out to me personally. I hope this location really turns around and get better with her in charge!

This specific location, on nine mile, is by far the worst location I have ever been to. Upon entering the lady at the desk was very friendly and greeted me. But unfortunately that was the only positive in my visit. I proceeded to the locker room to get ready for my workout. I was almost run over by the employee who exited the stall and then just walked out of the locker room. He didn't bother to apologize or say excuse me or anything after he almost ran into me. He did not stop at the sink to wash his hands. He just kind of glared at me and walked on. If he would have washed his hands after using the restroom he would have noticed that BOTH soap dispensers were empty. At the end of my workout I went up to the desk to turn in some keys someone left sitting in the changing rooms and the guy seemed very annoyed with me. I had also asked for a massage chair. He didn't seem to know what I was talking about at first. He did not seem very friendly and approachable but I figured I was almost finished with my visit anyways just get done and leave. He gets the chair turned on and I go back there. One of the chairs is out of order and the one that "works" doesn't even fully work. I ended my session early, grabbed my belongings, didn't change or shower, and left. I went to a different location to finish my massages and shower. I will never return to the nine mile location. Apparently rude staff is an issue that isn't being resolved, but also unsanitary staff, this needs to be fixed for the health and safety of everyone in the club.

You will have to go around and around with them, call ABC fitness “their third party billing” financial for them to just tell you that they cannot do anything.
They charged me 3 separate transactions in the corse of 2 months for $40.05 with no explanation! Said they couldn’t see it in their system and that they have no way of trying to resolve it without ME emailing their HIGHER up to try to figure out what it was from. I had bank statements and everything right in front of them.
PLANET FITNESS… They tried to call me on my birthday to tell me that they cannot process the refund of $40 x 3 that they charged me randomly for “late fees” that are not stated in the agreement. Thank God that I did not answer the phone that day. I’m continuing to take this up with BBB since planet fitness keeps telling me to wait for them to look into it.

I’m doing my diligence by telling you this.

Read the TOS, if you do not agree with everything, do not sign up. They do not specify the late fees that they will charge you. It varies from franchise to franchise. If you have a problem, do not even think about trying to call THIS location because you won’t get someone who acts like a robot and has no feelings or emotions. They just act like they didn’t paint the contract (understandable) and say that they will email their third-party financial team and get back with you.
I WOULD rather work out at home, in a desert, outside, Virginia Beach, anywhere else, but a Planet Fitness.
