This was only my third day at this Planet Fitness and I left feeling shaken. Around 7:45 PM, an employee approached me aggressively, yelling in my face, threatening to call the police, and acting like he was ready to get physical with me. I’m new and still learning my way around the gym, and I honestly still don’t know what I did wrong. I walked out feeling embarrassed, confused, and unwelcome. I came here to better myself, not to be intimidated. I truly hope management takes this seriously because no one should be treated like that in a place that calls itself a “Judgement Free Zone.”

I've been going to this Planet Fitness for years and I've always loved and am still loving my experience. There's always enough parking even though the parking lot is shared with other stores in the plaza, and the staff and people that come to work out are nice. The machines all work as well, but I have noticed that the gym is a little bit dusty, sometimes it bothers me, not always. But my main issue isn't that, it's the bathrooms and locker room. I noticed that they sweep the floors and maybe mop the floors but I noticed that the sink where you wash your hands is never cleaned. The bathroom, shower rooms and even the locker area has a smell that it's starting to get stronger and stronger that is darn awful. Sometimes I even hold my breathe and come in and out quickly. The sink, although the garnet top is black, you can see the stains that been there for a long time. They're the same stains. And the steel sinks are very dirty as well. And the showers are gross and I wouldn't be surprised if the smell is coming from the showers. The whole bathroom area needs to be bleached to be honest. I noticed that it's only the toilets getting cleaned and that's it. I understand that the gym is a dirty and unsanitary place, people come to work out and we all sweat and smell and equipments and bathroom get's dirty quickly. But that doesn't mean that cleaning should be neglected. Overall great place, but I really am unable to stan the smell in the bathrooms and locker rooms anymore. It's really bad and seem to be getting stronger. I really hope someone that works there sees this and take action and have someone or two people work on getting it properly cleaned and get rid of that smell. I hope it doesn't stick and quickly leaves after a good clean up with bleach.

I have been a member for almost 10 years and so far, my experience has been great until I started this location earlier this year. as I had to switch my gym time from afternoon to early morning at 5am.
The African American guy who opens the gym most mornings is unreliable and tardy. He lacks consistency! When he does arrive on time, he can’t seem to ensure that the gym is tidy and paper towels are replenished prior to opening. He is basically trying to do things last minute before opening the gym at 5:01am or 5:05am. Most times he is showing up 8 to 10mins late. He doesn’t acknowledge his tardiness or even apologize. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. The folks that arrive the same time as I do have the same sentiments. This is ridiculous and should be addressed by management or the owners.

Locker rooms are dirty, equipment is old and broken, no room to stretch, people are rude and stare, I left and finished my workout at another location. I hate giving bad reviews but it is what it is. The staff member never looked uo from his phone as I checked me and my guest in, actually ignored me when I asked for assistance scanning her in. It's the 3rd or 5th time to this location, never been a good experience. There's another location in Springfield that's better, seven corners is good, Sterling off 28 is the best planet fitness in that area, hands down. I do not recommend this location

I’m so disappointed because they’re been charging a whole year $25 from my account when I don't even go to that gym, I only went once and I never came back. If there is no money, they leave my account at -25 and I tried to call and the attention is terrible because the staff seems to have no desire to help. Finally, when I tried to cancel the supposed membership, it appears to me that I do not have any registered account.

Rv friendly parking lot, maybe a little bit tight for an 18-wheeler. This is a smaller facility, but not a mini one. Maybe good with the population in the area. Visiting at about 8:00 a.m. On a Monday morning and not too busy. Lot of equipment and cardio in a tight area, good use of space. From a larger gym. Equipment appears to all be working, it probably gets very busy after work so I will check that out before joining to make sure it's not too busy for a new person.
They have one one large fan in the ceiling, they do need a second one or they need to increase the air conditioning unit. Extremely humid and hot inside the gym even in the early morning. When you have more people in here, it's going to be even worse.

Energy is like a morgue, definitely more like a senior citizen gym. Music is not on in the gym, it is on in the locker room but the locker rooms are disgusting, has a weird smell and just nasty. There's a couple guys just texting and chilling at the front desk. Equipment is loose and broken but not put out of order, I don't like being this critical but this gym is terrible especially with so many other options nearby. I'm really writing this to remind myself to not come to this one. I've given it several chances and all were disappointing. Going to another gym to finish my workout. Smh

Just moved to the area with multiple PL locations, so visiting each one to find my home base.

Equipment: standard configuration of cardio/strength/stretching areas. Equipment is fairly new and almost all in working condition (only saw 2 machines down). Really enjoyed seeing pairs of weight machines for each workout. However waaay too many treadmills, would like that entire front row replaced with a mix of additional other types (stair master, rowing, etc)

Building: lots of outside parking (strip mall area), but can fill up on a busy day. The building itself is a big negative because of its overall size. Bathrooms/locker rooms are tiny. The layout inside between many of the machines is TIGHT...Several cardio machines are literally rubbing up against others when people are using them, poor layout planning.

Black card area was nice and separated. Missing cleaning spray bottles though... only 1 for the entire area 🫤

Good location for me as I can do shopping after my workouts. The gym has fair pricing and a ton of cardio equipment. Multiple places are set up for things like cross training and abs/stretching. There are a lot of machines for weight lifting as well as free weights, smith machine, squat machine etc. If you pay for the black card, you get access to the spa, which has massage chairs and tanning beds. Gets busy after work but not much in the mornings or weekends

This PF location is in need of some TLC. About 25% of the time the bathroom has something out of order. The TVs have been out for 3 weeks and this is the second time it has happened in the last few months. They took out a smith machine and left in bikes that are never used.

Have used several PF locations in DMV area, and unfortunately this is worst. Restroom is always dirty (fungus smell, sticky floors, unattended stalls). TVs have almost all been broken for past month (see picture). Hours are very limited compared to other PF locations in area. Paper towels are regularly out. Wish corporate would implement some simple fixes/improvements - not a good look for brand to have such apathetic franchises.

Thank you for responding to my recent review. While I appreciate the acknowledgment, I feel the response didn’t fully address the specific concerns I raised. It may be more effective if the individual responsible for responding to reviews compiled a weekly, biweekly, or monthly report to ensure the appropriate person within management receives the feedback.

Having someone respond who has no authority to resolve issues puts the burden on the reviewer to follow up, which seems counterproductive. I initially left my review because of the exceptional service I received during my second visit. However, the generic response makes me question whether concerns will be adequately addressed in the future.

If I encounter an issue down the line, I would be more inclined to reach out to corporate alongside the management team, as this experience hasn’t instilled much faith in the current resolution process.

I hope this feedback is helpful in improving communication and service.

I recently had an experience at Planet Fitness that ranged from frustrating to fantastic, so I wanted to share.

A few days ago, I walked in, greeted the staff, and asked to check in by providing my phone number. The guy at the desk said sure, but after I gave my number, he said he couldn’t find me. I then pulled up my membership contract on my phone and showed it to him. Instead of using the information provided, he insisted I download the app, even after I explained I didn’t have storage space for it. He dismissively said I’d be making everyone’s job a lot easier if I just downloaded the app, which, frankly, felt rude and unhelpful. When I walked away, he muttered something that made his coworker laugh, which was unnecessary and unprofessional.

Later, I asked him to start Room 10 for me. After struggling for a few minutes to get the machine working, I approached another gentleman at the desk, who immediately resolved the issue. This left me wondering if the first guy even bothered starting the machine at all.

To avoid dealing with that level of service again, I reluctantly went through four years of cherished photos and deleted several apps just to make space to download the app. Fast forward to three days later, when I came back and was greeted by Jeremy. He was the complete opposite of my previous experience. I asked why he and only one other person seemed capable of pulling up my account. Instead of brushing me off, Jeremy took the time to investigate and found that the phone number on my account wasn’t even close to my real one. Thanks to his diligence, I now know how to fix the issue with my home gym.

Jeremy’s exceptional service stood out. He not only resolved my issue but showed genuine care for his job. It’s clear he goes above and beyond, as I often see him keeping the gym floor stocked with cleaning supplies and making rounds.

To the staff member who said I’d make everyone’s job easier by downloading the app: Maybe you could’ve saved me the trouble by taking a minute to do your own job properly.

Thank you, Jeremy, for restoring my faith in customer service. Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and I’m truly grateful for your help!

This gym has the worst gym etiquette I’ve ever seen. It’s not ok for people to take over the Smith machines for 1 hour plus or any other machines for that mater. Proper gym etiquette is not to take up any machines or equipment more than 15 minutes tops, with the exception of cardiovascular equipment. It’s out of control. There needs to be an adjustment and rules regulated. This isn’t an isolated incident. This is observations over years. But it’s getting worse. Something needs to change.

Cheap behavior of this location when it comes to money. First, when I updated my account to black card, they charged me the annual fee for the second time. Just saw that on my bank statement, called, they said send an email. Emailed and got it back after few days.

Later, I called them to freeze my account, their staff wanted me to visit the branch. Told them that I’m out of state. After some argument, they said ok it’s frozen. I was waiting for my backache to get better so that I could rejoin the gym, suddenly saw the monthly fee charged from my bank. Approached them to find out that I could freeze for three months max. Fair enough, but I wasn’t told about this rule.

I called, emailed (their manager will reply once after you send at least three emails). They said this is the rule and you are charged accordingly. Told them that I haven’t used the facility for a long time, so please refund the amount and cancel the membership. They replied that the money can’t be refunded and your membership is cancelled. Meaning by, annual membership fee is gone and monthly fee can’t be refunded. Come back as a new customer if you want.

All three of my colleagues have similar experience and moved to another location.

For the manager, please don’t reply with a pre written response. I have already tried speaking to you over the email.

The machines and equipment are in good state for the most part. I got on a threadmill that wobbled. However, all other runners seemed to be ok. I’m really deducting 2 stars from 5 because there are only two changing booths in the men’s locker room. The stool in the handicap shower was broken and sitting on the floor with the bolts used to hang it to the wall still sticking out of the wall. The shower pressure if extremely weak as well. The floor on the actual changing booth was pretty dirty. Not sure what’s going on here but I can understand that at $10 a month (or $30 for my black card) you can ask for the world but maybe get half of it.

I really like this PF, it isn't usually busy, and is kept clean and well maintained.

My main complaint is that during the summer months there have been a lot of teens loitering in the lockerooms. They usually have their phones out and are taking selfies while people are trying to change, and I have witnessed 1 kid vaping on two separate occasions. I have let a front desk staff member know each time, but not sure what is being done about it.

Had regular membership changed it to black and asked the member service about cost and fee the member service told that’s beside the 24.99/month there is nothing else now I look at my bank there is a 39 charge plus’s the 24.99
Call the location Devan who says she is the manager says it’s a black membership corporate fee which they did not tell me about even when I asked.

I have been meaning to leave a review for this gym ever since I signed up about a month and a half ago. There are several reasons why I enjoy coming to the gym here. First of all, it's conveniently located because it's on my route to work. The gym is also still pretty new, although I'm not sure when it opened exactly. Most of their equipment is new and I spend all of my time either in the treadmills or with the nautilus style equipment. I do focus a lot of my energy on my upper body, like arms, chest, and abdominals. I love the fact that they provide literally a full rack of flat screen televisions. This give people something to look at while they run. I signed up for the Black membership because at the time I felt it had the best value. The best thing with this type of membership is that you are able to bring friends with you to the gym at no additional charge. They also have massage chairs which I will partake in one of these days. Even better is they are open 24 hours during the week. It would be cool if they extended the 24 hour availability for the weekends also, but as it stands now the do close somewhat early on Saturdays and Sundays.

The worst professional ever by Jazmin. They discriminate against people with disabilities. No one knows how the place operates. It is always "Uh, I don't know." You can't get contact information of higher ups. It is a huge secret. The manager, Hunter, supports the bad habits there. No trainers since November. They will flag your file with negative coments. Awful! Go to the West Springfield gym. Sooooooo much better. You walk in a positive environment and business cards at the front desk. If you need any ADA accomodation at Concord gym, they will not honor it.

Machines are always being hogged by the same family. No matter what time you go, the benches are always being taken up by the same people doing 20 + reps of the same workout.

They also hog the cables.

Absolutely the WORST experience that I have ever had at a Planet Fitness. DO NOT GO HERE if you want to actually work out. I was trying to use the 30 minute fitness room (which is supposed to be reserved for ONLY people doing the workout, but of course it isn't). Woman sitting on a machine (trying to think herself fit) refuses to move. Rather than get into a fight, I go grab a staff member so that they can explain the rules of the room to her, since she obviously couldn't read the big sign that said that it is ONLY for people doing the circuit. Staff member says she has to get the manager. WHY? You can't enforce the rules. Just baffling, but ok. Manager comes over, looks at the room that is FULL of people not using the room correctly, shrugs his shoulders and walks away. Absolutely useless and not what I pay a membership fee for. Just maddening that I have to get into a fight in order to get a workout in. Don't waste your time.

They frequently change work schedule. They should be open 24h. Employees are nice people but their manager not. The last time someone stole my friend's AirPod so we just asked for a camera records but he said we are not responsible for that. We don't blame anyone for that but they should open the camera records and report it to the police. Because everyone registers at the front desk before entering the gym. If they were looking at camera records and they could find the thief's name and report it. But unfortunately they didn't care. Our complain is not about AirPod’s value but it is about safety. Because this thief next time can be steal someone’s stuff. So that is why he cancelled his membership due their schedule I will also cancel the membership. ☹️

Edit: we don’t request any compensation and we don't blame PF for the stolen thing. But you should check cameras and report it to the police (we reported to the police they gave us case number). But the tief probably come to your gym as nothing happen and you don't check your cameras.

1. The price:- I have been paying only $10 for years
2. I have all Machines I need for everything
3. Wide space:- Not Overly crowded even if there are people.
4. It is always clean.
5. I love the shower & thank you for the hot water❤️
6. Work Opportunity for Younger Employees.
7. Jesus almost forgot the time🙉 I love the 24 hours services🙏🏾

This place was good until they started closing 11 pm to 5 am and Friday Saturday Sunday night is closed so not good for our group anymore because almost every day we have to go between 11 pm to 4 pm so right now we are thinking to move to ANYTIME FITNESS WHICH IS OPEN 24/7/365 across the street and if they will reopen like anytime fitness we will be here because most things are Ok with us and PURE FITNESS IS OPENING AROUND FEB 25,2022 BEHIND SPRINGFIELD MALL we ARE ALL MOVING TO THEM BECAUSE ON 5 DOLLARS PER MONTH WITHOUT ANY CONTRACT NO BODY CAN BEAT PURE FITNESS and manager and other guys don’t care don’t want to listen
