Update: Place has slowly gone down hill and lived up to its PF reputation. You get what you pay for. Broke machines, empty paper towels. Tried to cancel my account on the first of the month. And they told me that I needed to wait to receive an email so I called back a couple days later because I had not received an email, and they told me to wait another couple days and they would send me an email, but my account was canceled. It has been six months since that day and they are still charged China charge me money for an account that I canceled on the first of the month per their contract. I tried to call them today and they ignore my calls. They hang up on me and they won’t receive my calls and I am 15 hours away from the current planet fitness and the nearest planet fitness to me is an hour away. They are not very customer friendly.

Great gym for those who don't want to pay Onelife prices, lots of equipment including barbell racks for free-weight bench, deadlift or squats, something I haven't seen in any other local-ish Planet Fitness. My only major complain is cleanliness, the major problem area being the bathrooms. (Moldy showers, dirty mirrors and floors) Everyone from gymrats to first day beginners can find a place here.

Great gym and a very reasonable price. The two complaints that are the loud music and the iffy WiFi.
The music over the speakers is too loud. With my earbuds in and the volume at mid range, I can still hear the music blaring. Sometimes I have to turn the volume way up on my phone to hear my music. Turn the volume down in the gym. Not good for the hearing.
After the first several weeks I have not been able to connect to the gym’s WiFi. I can connect to other WiFi, private and public, just not PF’s WiFi.

**Great Gym with One Major Flaw**

This gym has a lot going for it—friendly staff, good equipment, and a great atmosphere. **However**, the cleanliness and maintenance of the bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms are seriously lacking.

Issues include:
- **Poor cleanliness**: Rarely cleaned, with moldy shower walls/curtains, trash, and discarded underwear left around.
- **No hot water** and frequently **broken shower handles**.
- **Unhygienic behavior**: People shaving (face & genitals) in the changing areas.
- **Inadequate trash cans**—one isn’t enough for the men’s bathroom.

Fix these problems, and this would easily be a **5-star gym**. Until then, the poor hygiene and maintenance really drag down the experience.

I fancy myself somewhat of a gym connoisseur. I’ve been all over the world and worked out in gyms from Dubai to Peru.

So to begin with some positives, the gym is pretty spacious, essentially has the equipment you need, equipment seems to be in working order and generally pretty clean, but it’s probably just a extension of the fact that the gym is brand new and due to It’s proximity to much bigger Onelife fitness, it’s probably trying to establish itself as a direct competitor of one life fitness. The other positive is more or less it’s open 24/7

However, some negatives. The music is insanely loud. I like music in the gym as much as the next guy, I think it’s important to have music playing in a gym in general. However, it was so loud I had to set my headphones on noise canceling setting, and it was still easily heard through my earbuds. Second, you’re still not gonna escape the gym bro’s. Planet fitness claims that it’s a judgment free zone, which is fine, I don’t care one way or the other, but it was still chalk filled with Gymbronies.

And third, and this is the one that kind of pissed me off, is I’m in from out of town. I called the location a day in advance and asked them if they provided single day gym passes to which this lady said they did and that I would be able to purchase those upon my arrival. So I got up at 3 o’clock in the morning, went to the gym and of course was told that was not the case and that it’s a paperless establishment and no actual transactions can be made in the gym itself. The lady working the counter at the time cannot have carried less and was totally unwilling to help and when I told her I’ll just go to Onelife fitness, they’re obvious competitor, she either didn’t know what the hell I was talking about or really didn’t care

So it’s all that being said. One life fitness, which is pretty much across the street from planet fitness is still far superior. If onelife fitness just opened one hour earlier, it would crush planet fitness. The philosophy behind planet fitness is that it caters to the novice or average Joe-type of gym goer but in practice, that’s not the case. Just go to Onelife fitness, I found the staff there to be super friendly and accommodating and membership wise, it’s not really that much different.

My three star rating is not a five because of a few things.
1. There’s only one garbage can in the ladies locker room and it’s in view of the rest of the gym. If you have to toss something while dressing, you will have to wait unless you’re an exhibitionist.
2. It’s a busy place in the mornings and I have had to wait for a shower (3 regular and 1 handicapped). Locker area is tiny.
3. Some members treat the two curtained dressing areas as their own, i.e. undress for the shower and leave their clothing in there so others think it’s occupied by someone. That way they can hop back in there and get dressed post shower. Gym staff offered to rectify the situation but as of 2/26/25, there hadn’t been a change. It’s selfish behavior and something should be said.
4. PF encourages members to use headphones so as not to impose on others but PF blasts their own music so loudly that my own volume is at the top.

Nasty shower, bathroom. Showers have not been cleaned in at least a month. As the same ball hair, patches or bandaid, quetips are on the floor in the same place in the 2 changing areas for the showers. The actual showers and the actual shower drain pan themselves as the floor drain is clogged enough to let the floor puddle with 1/2" of water pooling that you have to stand in with other peoples babies in the floor due to the slow draining that haven't been cleaned in a month also. The Planet Fitness in Fredericksburg is super clean with older people thay work there and know how to clean. The Stafford location unfortunately has a bunch of younger folks that are friendly,and are around high school/college age and is the main reason why everything is dirty in the bathroom/showers. Please clean the bathroom showers, it is way overdue as I have waited 3 different workouts over a month to write this review hoping it would be addressed, seems no one knows, now that they know will they care and clean? Time will tell. Everything else is good to go. Will update more or less stars depending on the cleanliness movong forward now that it has been brought to Planet Fitness attention.

Hi, I really enjoy working out at this gym—it's spacious and has a great variety of equipment! However, I wanted to bring up an issue with the bottle filling station. It's been about 3 or 4 weeks, and it's been working very slowly. Today, there was no water coming out at all. It takes 7-10 minutes just to fill up a bottle. I just wanted to let you know, and I hope it gets fixed soon. Thanks!

This PF has everything needed to get a great workout in any day or time!! This is my first PF establishment, and I could not be more pleased. I have been going since it opened, and the only thing I can say is that it gets very, very busy. I have yet to find a good time to go and use some of the equipment as it's just so busy. Adding another location or expanding this location would be great!

I usually don't bother writing reviews but since this is a new gym I thought about writing one for a change, anyways it's a Really good gym, very different compared to all the other planet fitness. This one seems to be Carter towards every type of training, strength, functional, endurance,and there's even a actual deadlifting area with power lifting plates which was cool to see. Nice facility and clean. However, when you're working out its gets hot and this gym doesn't even have any fans going. First time in a gym that didn't have ceiling fans or a little A/C going despite the weather outside. There also isn't an area designated mainly for floor work if you wanted to work on abs, you kind of have to squeeze into any open area between machines. A personal choice i would have wanted a sauna vice tanning booths.

New machines have rep counters with set/rest timers. Great weight lifting machines. Dumbells range from 3lbs to 75lbs. 2 spin bikes at this location. Turf for sled training. I know it's new but best PF I've ever been to.
