I've been to a few Barre studios over the years and this location is so special. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming from the barretenders to the attendees themselves. Can't recommend this studio enough!

The ladies at PB Pentagon City are all rockstars! They are super supportive & sweet. I have never looked forward to exercise, but I could not imagine missing a class at PB. Great thanks to the team here for remaining welcoming, kind-hearted and warm for anyone who walks through those doors & shows up for themselves for every 50 minute class!

Pure Barre Pentagon City is the most supportive, welcoming, and encouraging fitness community I have ever encountered. Each instructor genuinely wishes the success and well-being of each member, and each member is kind and collegial with one another. I have not felt so comfortable (and joyful!) exercising since I was a kid. On top of the wonderful community, I feel stronger and more rooted in the power of my own body. I am so grateful for every tuck and pulse, and I look forward to many more classes at the barre!

Pure Barre is my happy place :). The studio is so welcoming, the instructors are top-notch, and the students are uniformly friendly. I've had nothing but good experiences here. They've even worked with me through some medical procedures in the past few years, making sure I had modifications while maintaining proper form, and helping me to safely workout and to recover. Can't recommend this studio highly enough (and there's easy parking!)

Love this location and their instructors!
All the classes are engaging, the music is always great, and the space is clean and convenient. Plus, it's always stocked with cute sticky socks! Katie is such a sweet person and always so helpful. Jaime's classes toned me in just a few months, highly recommend!

Pure Barre Pentagon City is my happy place!! I have loved all of the time I have spent at this studio, the progress I have made over the 7+ years and all the friends I have made. I am so appreciated for how welcoming and supportive all of the teachers and staff at this location are -- helping me to get better and stronger with each class, helping me and others to find work arounds when we are experiences challenges and so much more. Just started a month ago and love it! The staff are all very nice and social. They have a lot of other things going on like book club. They help adjusting your form throughout class. Overall, really great experience.

I’m so glad I took a chance and an Engage (intro) class with Betsy. The classes are challenging and everyone is so encouraging. I don’t feel judged…especially since I have trouble telling my left from my right sometimes. It’s such a great community! It’s hard to pick a favorite instructor, but you can never go wrong with a Karin class!

I have been coming to this studio for over a year and absolutely love it. The instructors are all so great! I really appreciate the variety of class formats and enjoy the social events they host as well like book clubs and wine down Wednesdays. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great low impact training especially runners!!

TLDR; I hurt my back in August 2022 and was immobile for almost four months. When my physicians cleared me to exercise, I used a Class Pass to take Pure Barre Foundations at this location and had the great fortune of meeting Katie. Right off the bat, she made me feel welcome and gave me a ton of modifications to use until I felt more comfortable.
My first class was in January 2023, and I went 1-2 times per week, starting slowly and asking for help if I felt any pain. I signed up for the Breaking Down the Barre classes, which helped me understand which muscles I should and should NOT be using for each exercise.
In addition to my back, I also had neck issues and could barely turn my head over my right shoulder and have had wrist problems since I was a teen. As the instructors got to know me and my issues, they helped me get through each class, so I still got a workout but did not hurt myself.
As of today, Barre has almost eliminated my back problems, my neck turns all the way over both shoulders, my posture has improved so that I don't see my shoulders in my peripheral vision anymore, and I can do real pushups (modified) without hurting my wrists.
I have been doing Pilates and Yoga for years and took those classes as well, but I truly think that the isometric tuck used in Barre helped me build back my core muscles and took the pressure off my back, neck, and wrists. This location has fantastic instructors who really got to know me and helped me feel super comfortable learning the exercises.

I’ve taken pure barre classes in several locations and barre classes in other states and have never had an issue if I ever ran into traffic or couldn't find parking that day, ESPECIALLY on the first time at a location that I'm not familiar with. It was my first time taking a class at this location, I was exactly 1 minute late and the wouldn’t let me in.
The experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I wont be returning. I even asked if I could still be marked present since I am still here but just ONE minute late and I dont want to pay the cancellation fee for one minute and she said no. Overall not an inviting place at all and I think barre is one of those things where it really matters about the people you’re around too.

Pure Barre is a great workout because it exercises the small stabilizing muscles in addition to the larger muscles that contribute to overall toning, strength, and health. It's definitely a place that you get out what you put in, particularly because you have to focus on your body to make sure you're using the right muscles. The instructors are definitely attentive though, and help make that focus easier!

Lauren is amazing! She genuinely loves Barre as well as overall health + fitness (And what it represents/provides for people). She is clear and concise in her instructions and is wonderful at making modifications for people as necessary. Joining Barre wasn't just a workout it is a lifestyle and a network of future friends!
