Great place. If you're thinking about making a change so you can be happier, you won't be disappointed. If you're worried about the discomfort of working out, trust me, the hardest part is just walking through the front door. Don't get me wrong. The workouts are tough but you will feel amazing and be proud of yourself. And Raise The Bar is the place you want to go to start the journey. Raise the Bar was absolutely awesome! The workout was high-intensity, my heart rate was elevated the whole time, and I walked out feeling strong and accomplished. The instructor was incredible—she explained everything clearly and demonstrated each exercise before we began. Throughout the class, she corrected our form and kept us motivated to push through every rep. If you're looking for a welcoming, encouraging environment that challenges you, makes you feel like you belong, and pushes you to your limits, this is the place to be!

Hands down great experience and looking to come back next month! I reached out to Melissa to organize a group training event in September for a group of work colleagues of a wide range of fitness levels. I started with Raise the Bar because of a free 6 Week Challenge that I saw advertised on Facebook. But after that was over I stayed on with RtB because of the people! It’s a great gym with great programs and excellent coaches. They have both CrossFit as well as a boot camp style program depending on what type of workout you want to do.
I would highly recommend RtB whether you want to lose weight (which I did) or gain strength (which I also did). They also have many fitness and nutrition challenges throughout the year and use various apps and programs to help members track their overall health.
Update - it’s been two years now and I’m still going strong at Raise the Bar fitness! The community is probably what I love the most. Everyone is great; the coaches and the other members are all supportive, encouraging, and fun!

I started my journey at RtB with their Ultimate 6 Week Challenge. It was going to be what kept me accountable to a meal plan, a scheduled workout; what it ended up becoming was far more! If you are considering the "free" 6-week challenge, please read this.
Firstly, I want to say up front that I cannot make any claims about the services provided at this gym - it's a group fitness gym, and I assume the classes are not significantly better or worse than any other group fitness gym out there. I do, however, want to educate people on the terms of the 6-week "free" challenge provided by this gym. I attended a free consultation last night and was disappointed at the lack of transparency surrounding the program.
As stated by some other reviewers, the challenge is not free. You are required to put a $600 deposit down before participating, on the condition that you will receive your money back if you complete the challenge successfully. To successfully complete the challenge, you must lose 10% of your body weight, or if your BMI is over a certain threshold, 25 lbs. That comes out to losing just over 4 lbs a week to successfully complete the challenge. In line with current conventional medical wisdom, losing more than 1-2 lbs a week is considered too fast, and can put you at risk of many health-related issues such as muscle loss, gall stones, nutritional deficiencies, and a drop in metabolism (which could lead you to quickly regain the weight you lose during the challenge). Please do not take my word for it - I encourage you to do your own research on the matter. More than the health risks it presents, losing 4 lbs a week is just simply not possible for most people, whose age, current weight, and other pre-existing health conditions may make it more difficult to lose weight and keep it off.
Brian, the owner, has responded to previous reviews that mention the misleading advertising by saying "We're sorry you did not read the entire advertisement." In this, I believe he is referencing the statement "Terms and Conditions Apply" listed conspicuously in some of the online ads. However, you cannot simply say "Terms and Conditions Apply" when advertising a service that costs $600 to participate in. The cost of your service is not simply a "Term" that you can exclude from advertisement, and I think it's a matter of time before someone gets upset at losing their money and brings a legal challenge against this gym.
Again, I cannot make any claims about the quality of services provided at this gym. I simply want people to understand what they are signing up for when they choose the 6-week challenge.
When you put down your deposit of $600, you are betting on yourself and your ability to complete the challenge. But this also means that - for the gym to make any money from this challenge - they are betting AGAINST you. They have no incentive to facilitate your success in this challenge. Ask yourself - would you pay $100 a week for a gym membership? That is what the cost comes down to if you fail. If you can live with that, and you think that this type of program is right for you, by all means, please do reach out. But don't fool yourself about what the gym's incentive is. In my consultation, the owner admitted that only 10-20% of people successfully complete the challenge.
I have attached screenshots below of the advertisement I clicked on from Instagram. As you will see, there is no mention of "Terms and Conditions" or what those Terms and Conditions might entail. If you are curious as to the illegality of such advertising, please consult Title 16 of the Code of Federal Regulations, part 251.1(c), entitled, "Disclosure of Conditions." Quote: "All of the terms, conditions and obligations should appear in close conjunction with the offer of “Free” merchandise or service. For example, disclosure of the terms of the offer set forth in a footnote of an advertisement to which reference is made by an asterisk or other symbol placed next to the offer, is not regarded as making disclosure at the outset."

This gym is an excellent place for anyone looking to switch things up and really dedicate themselves to their fitness. Within weeks I was seeing results. The community is very supportive and friendly; I never once felt out of place due to social environment or ability level. The workouts were engaging and I felt challenged just the right amount. I have been to many gyms over the years and have tried so many different fad diets. They have showed great results in the end; however, the maintenance of it all was not sustainable for me to continue on a consistent basis. I got tired of doing the same routine independently and laziness set in, leading to an unhealthy and sedentary lifestyle.
I clearly remember back in January, how very unhappy I was with my appearance, not having the energy or strength to walk up the flights of stairs at my house (have 3 stories), and how poorly my medical labs looked. Until one evening, I saw an ad on social media with an invitation to sign up for a free six week fitness challenge.
Fast forward almost four months later. I learned a lot of valuable information on what it truly means to eat clean and healthy, working out at least three times a week is a highly recommended, and having a good support system makes all the difference in the world. All of this makes for a reliably sustainable lifestyle journey. It also didn’t hurt that I lost almost 30 pounds since January, gained muscle mass, and reduced body fat/mass. I am now fully committed to this new way of life, and dedicated to continuing my journey with the best gym in Manassas!

I am still very, very pleased with everything in my previous review.
I have been coming to RTB for almost a year now! Time flies when you're having fun! Workouts never seem like just a workout. It feels like a family. I love how welcoming they are to newcomers. That was one thing that sold me on this gym. From Day 1, they were very helpful and guided me along. I never felt like I was a burden or talked down to, like in some previous gyms by Coaches. Now I have even found myself helping newcomers and trying to offer encouragement to them.
To date: I am down 50lbs, 10 pant sizes, and 3 shirt sizes. Even though the scale hasn't moved in awhile.... I still recognize the changes. I've been losing fat and inches, but gaining muscle in return.
This has been the best life decision that I have ever made for myself. I wouldn't have been able to do it if it wasn't for the RTB family. I personally needed the accountability to keep me going even when I didn't see the change. Thank you RTB!

I have been going to Raise the Bar gym for over two years now. It is the best gym ever and I highly recommend it. I haven't seen any gym in 40 years of my life that teaches you correct ways of performing an exercise, help you lose weight by eating right and also to go over all that in details with each member at their level of understanding. I absolutely have been enjoying my journey here and have lost weight and kept it off, while getting stronger and building muscles. I joined the RTB family in 2022. After ankle/foot surgery, torn ACL, and shoulder surgery and being VERY sedentary, I had a long way to go to reach my fitness goals. I started with Jenny as my personal trainer two days a week. She put a plan in place that got me moving and strong again. Her encouragement and pushing me past my comfort zone paid off. A year later, I “graduated” to her 6am Flex and Fire class. And what a blast! I’m having fun and getting back in shape at the age of 63. I have also found a community at RTB that I have not found in any other gym. Everyone works at their own level and there’s a ton of encouragement from the other members . Six months ago, I started working with Brian on a nutrition plan to help me lose weight. Now with 40 pounds gone I’m feeling better than I have in 20 years. Just in time to enjoy retirement! I completed the Six Week Challenge at Raise the Bar (RtB) Fitness and I cannot say enough good things about the owners, the coaches, and the gym. Hands down, this is the Best Gym in Manassas! The staff is knowledgeable, friendy, and most importantly there to help you achieve your goals. As soon as I walked in I knew I had found my new “home”. RtB has a variety of class times to fit even the busiests of schedules. The work-outs are effective, well designed, and build upon each other. In seven weeks I have never had the same workout twice. In regards to their Six Week Challenge, I highly recommend that anyone who wants to jumpstart their fitness routine sign up as soon as they can. The challenge is designed for the individual that is new to working out, former athletes, and those already in shape who want to bring their fitness to the next level. I found Raise the Bar via an Instagram ad for their “free” 6-week challenge. There needs to be a strong level of discipline involved to get the most out of the 6-week challenge. Do NOT be fooled, the challenge is not free, but you can get your money back if you meet very specific challenge criteria or decide to sign a year-long contract with the gym. In the 6-week program, you are given a meal plan to follow and are supposed to show up for workouts at the gym 3 days a week. The meal plan is based on your current weight and fitness goals and is split into protein, carbs, veggies, and fat. There are quite a few restrictions on foods you can eat and they highly recommend you cook all your meals during the 6 weeks while following an intermittent fasting schedule. I entered into the challenge blindly and didn't think to ask more about it. I just figured this was something that I needed to jump-start my weight loss journey so I'll suffer through it. I got great results from the challenge and if I wanted to practically isolate myself from the world I could keep doing this for a whole year and be so fit. But alas, my only hobby is socializing over food and drinks.
There is an app for the gym that you use to sign up for classes. There are classes in the morning or the evening. I enjoyed the classes, although some days they felt too crowded. I liked that I could choose how hard I push myself in the class. The instructors were great at helping with correct form or suggesting alternative exercises when I had physical limitations. At the beginning of the week, they post on Facebook the class schedule. I enjoyed this because I didn’t need to put thought into what workout I wanted to do. I tried to do one cardio and two lifting workouts a week. If you are a member you can go to the gym the 6 days of the week they are open (closed on Sundays).
While I enjoyed the workouts and atmosphere of the gym, there are things about the gym that made me decide to not continue as a member. My biggest issue was that I could not justify the cost of the gym (currently $220/month) for the limited availability of use. The classes didn’t fit well into my life. I went to 6 am workouts and by the time I was done with class, drove home, showered, ate breakfast, and commuted I barely made it to work on time. There are only 2 evening sessions that didn’t fit into my schedule either. I wish there was a later evening class and more classes on the weekend. I am not the kind of person to wake up for the single 7:30 am Saturday class so I can get a workout in. Also, I was slightly put off that they don’t have jump ropes in the gym so we had to bring our own. With the price of membership, I shouldn’t have to bring my own equipment unless I really, really wanted to. The gym's app needs to incorporate the type of class (cardio/upper body/lower body) in its scheduling system. I shouldn't need to refer back to Facebook to help me schedule out my week on the app. I thought that the gym needed to provide more information in writing. The gym owner is def a tough-love kind of guy. On orientation day I was word-bombed with information for the challenge and nutrient advice and then had to recall it all. There is a portal with information that is hard to navigate and a Facebook page but what I need is an old-school packet of info that I could then write additional notes on.

Where to begin? Raise The Bar 6 week challenge was the best way to start off my new year. I was hesitant and extremely nervous about the process but my RTB family made me feel so welcomed and loved . Where do I start?
Let’s start from the beginning…
A coworker sent me the link and told me about the challenge ( Best Coworker ever am I right?) during the 6 week challenge I have lost 16lbs, but lets not just focus on the number, there’s so much more, I went down on clothing size. I am able to move around without having to loose my breath, I learned how to eat better without having to starve myself.
Now let’s talk about the gym: the culture and the atmosphere 10/10 I’ve never been to a gym where you are at group setting yet it feels like you are getting a one on one treatment, every coach takes the time to explain, correct and master each workout, and move which encourages you to be better and do best you can without getting hurt.
The owners, the staff, other gym members: Everybody welcomes you with open arms! I felt part of the family since day one! Other members encourage you to keep going and keep moving ( if you are competitive even more). Everybody at the gym is at a different place: physically, mentally, age, size, ethnicity yet we all do the same workouts, which gives you plenty of room to grow and better yourself every single time you show up to do the work!
You get to ask all the questions without judgment.
The 6 weeks challenge opens the path to a healthier version of yourself. Even though I met the goal for the challenge I am still working on my own goal! The journey continues .

This is the best gym I have ever been a part of. I always look forward to walking through the doors and always feel amazing when I leave. The workouts are always great and the music is always on point. Very family friendly too. My kids were allowed to come and sit on the available seating while I worked out.
The coaches are amazing and very knowledgeable. They are very helpful no matter what fitness level you are at. I really like how they give you the right amount of encouragement, hands on instant feedback, and tips and modifications (adjustments) to get the most out of every workout.
The fellow members are very inspiring and helpful. From Day 1 they felt like family.
After the first week, I not only saw a change in my energy level and quality of sleep… I had already lost 10lbs! I am now 8 weeks in and have lost 25lbs, gained back muscle and feel great!

Don’t waste your time or money on the so called “Free” 6 week challenge unless you plan on joining the gym ( which I don’t recommend) It’s a scam to try to get you to join the gym! It’s not free, cost $600 which is more than twice what a monthly gym membership fee is & you’re expected to lose 25 lbs in 6 weeks which for women is very difficult to do if u take meds such as birth control that cause weight gain! It’s not family friendly, so if you have kids, it’s difficult. And there’s no variation in the classes, same exercises each week, just maybe in a different order! Also weigh ins were very odd, “It was, ok get on the scale” No great progress, keep up the good work or any motivation along the way. My spouse and I both did the challenge so we’re out $1,200 because we didn’t loose 25 lbs ( he lost 20, I lost 8)& chose not to join the gym! Way to run a business Raise the Bar Fitness!

I have lived in the Manassas area my whole life and never heard of RtB until I saw an ad on Instagram for a 6 week body transformation challenge. I knew I need a change and decided to try it out. I didn't quite know what to expect going into it because I've never been a "gym goer" kind of girl. Over the past 6 weeks, RtB Fitness taught me to discipline myself and results can come through hard work and dedication. The gym has classes with amazing coaches that help you, and push you, through your workouts. The workouts are tough and exhausting but you feel so great when you're done! Joining up with Raise the Bar Fitness was one of the best things I’ve done. This gym has exceeded every expectation! As a former athlete with injuries, Brian and Jenny worked with me to modify when I needed and build up my strength to a level now that rivals my strongest pre-hip replacement days. I love the “get out what you put in” structure of the workouts. Although you’re in a group, doing the same workout - it is so beneficial to know that you can go at the weight, speed, and difficulty level that suits your needs. The workouts are always creative and challenging and the community is nothing but supportive!
RtB really cultivates intrinsic motivation. It’s always great energy and it’s a great place to push my “competitive-with-myself” nature while supporting the hard work of those around me. I started working out at RtB in 2017. I successfully lost pounds and body fat on the 6-week challenge, which was amazing! However, my favorite thing is that I found out how strong I was. After being a member of plenty of other gyms, this is where I truly FELL IN LOVE with working out. The workouts are always different, which keeps things interesting and fun. And working out with a fabulous group of people with the same goals is soooo motivating. All my life I said, "I just don't have a strong upper body." LIES! At RtB, I discovered I just wasn't training my upper body in a way that would build strength.
In fact, I loved RtB so much that in 2021 I decided to become one of their certified trainers. Helping people achieve their fitness goals is the most rewarding job. This gym is built different and the individuals apart of this community are built different. They are a loving family that motivates you to ACTUALLY WORK HARD. I love being in a community of people at all different levels and the changes everyone is going through for the better. You are not forgotten when you go to this gym and you are not pressured or judged.
This gym exceeded my personal wellness goals. After having 2 kids and starting my journey with Raise the Bar while still postpartum, I am more physically fit than I ever have been. I received so many compliments on my physical appearance, in how much weight I’ve lost, and how much muscle I have gained . People are constantly surprised I have 2 kids. But what mattered the most to me was my physical health and I feel so much better in my day to day. I am no longer physically winded or sore after my long shifts or after playing with my 2 year old.

Raise the Bar had been my BEST gym experience ever! I have been a member at a few large gyms and learned I liked working out but didn't ever really know what I was doing. I would get results but never fat and they would never last. In just 6 weeks I lost so much weight and feeling started feeling healthy because I had a whole support system. I only went to the gym 3 times a week, had a meal plan that was easy enough to follow and when my body didn't allow me to do the exercises exactly as they wanted, my coaches made modifications without hesitation. Would not recommend this gym for the average person. They get you in by advertising a “free” 6-week challenge however they ask for a $600 deposit. You only get the deposit back if you follow all the rules (meal plan with photo proof of meals, meet the required workouts per week) as well as lose the weight they say you should lose. If you do everything else other than lose the weight they give you to lose, you still wouldn't get your deposit back which makes no sense to me. Even if you lose a pound less, you would be forfeiting your deposit. The deposit of $600 does go towards the monthly membership price but will only be a discounted amount per month. For example, the regular monthly amount is $200 but for a certain amount of months it would be $165 (Per owner). You also are locked into a three month membership term as it takes 90 days notice to cancel a membership. I will also add that whoever does this challenge is required to leave a review hence so many positive ones. Maybe this gym is for you but it just seemed to me like a scam. The owner also could be a bit warmer when he is giving his whole pitch, it just seemed very cut and dry.

I randomly walked in one afternoon and met the owners. They were very nice people, and seemed truly interested in helping me to meet my goals and make healthy lifestyle decisions. I signed up that day and began the challenge the following week. I’m happy to say I met my challenge goals! I enjoyed working out at the gym, the support I got from other members of the gym, and the support I got with diet and life planning from the coaches so much that I decided to sign up for a membership after completing my six week challenge! The coaches are great during the classes, and it almost feels one on one because of the attention they pay to you. I was a little hesitant, considering I had a previous CrossFit injury. But this is not CrossFit, and the coaches are very attentive to make sure I am completing the exercises properly and benefiting from the workout. I love it there!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this gym and the owners Brian and Jenny. I started with them and their 6 week challenge back in August 2022 and never in my wildest dreams did I think I could accomplish what I have in these 6 weeks, let alone what I WILL accomplish in the weeks to come now that I signed up as a full time member. Their passion and energy are contagious and all the coaches are friendly and very helpful. The challenge helped me alter my diet to lost weight I didn't realize I could shed, and the workouts have helped me sculpt the lean muscles I want. I know everyone's fitness journey is unique, but it was the combination of the diet and workouts I truly believe that helped me get past the plateau I had found myself on. I am grateful to have found another second home and can't wait to crush my next goals!!

I have been a member of Raise the Bar Fitness for about 3 years and can't say enough good things about this place. I have had the opportunity of training with a few of the Coaches and they are all willing, ready and able to assist to make sure that you are doing every exercise correct. The workouts are done at your own pace so its truly a place where you can maximize your own potential.
I enjoy the way they have structured their workouts. By the end of the week you'll have done an entire body workout. And you'll never do the same workout. I also appreciate that it only takes an hour of my day. The Coaches will always demonstrate the exercise, do a warm up, then jump into the workout, and lastly stretch. I always leave the gym feeling energetic, accomplished and ready to get my day going.
The Owners (Brian and Jenny) are just two amazing individuals. I appreciate how involved they are with their clients and always ready to answer any and all of your questions. They are both very knowledgeable in fitness and dedicated to what they do.
Being a member at Raise the Bar is like being a part of a big family. It seems that all members are friendly and welcoming. Everyone fits right in.

I've been going there for 9 months and the experience has been great.
-Excellent trainers and atmosphere.
-Good ethics at the gym, everyone is welcomed whether you wear hijab or need adjustment to your workout plan during Ramadan, no problems.
-The workout is different everyday which is exciting.
-Flexible payment options.
-Flexible schedules, you can go as early as 4:45 am or as late as 5:30 pm, and other slots in between.
-Trainers actively observe you and periodically checks on your form, adjusts your level of difficulty for each workout if necessary.
-Every workout is explained before the start of the class, and during if asked for.
To summarize, you show up to the gym and let the trainers take care of you.

I joined Raise the Bar about two months ago, and am so happy with my experience there! Brian and Jenny are truly invested in their clients and I love how they do the workouts with us during most sessions. There's a great team spirit at Raise the Bar and the classes are challenging, yet easily modifiable for those who are new to strength training or just trying to build themselves back up after a hiatus from working out the past few years. I was part of the latter group, and am so thankful I found this community because doing workouts on your own is boring. :)
Highly recommend for those who are ready to regain control of their health and fitness after being too complacent the past few years. We have fun, are always challenged, and are there to support each other. I also feel totally safe at Raise the Bar, as the training space is big, has high ceilings and people and very respectful of other people's space. Come join us! You wont' regret it, trust me.

I recently completed the six-week challenge.
Workouts: The workouts are tough. When you first walk in and see what is expected of you, it can be a little overwhelming (especially if you haven’t worked out like that in a long time, or ever). What’s fun is that by the end of the 6 weeks, you walk in and see the work out of the day and know that you can do it. Frank is a great trainer and pushes you without being overwhelming, and the atmosphere in the gym is positive and encouraging (no judgements).
Diet: The diet can be really hard. It’s super restrictive, which is why it works. I can see the benefits of the food prep as it keeps you in line. If you are single, or child-free, I don’t imagine the food prep will be too hard. I feel like it’s harder when you have a family to live like this for 6 weeks. It’s doable, but it would literally take all day. Protein shakes: some people love them, I was not one of those people. I did find the fudge brownie to be the most tolerable. It’s important to eat everything on the diet; it will help you reach your goal.
Accountability: Posting photos of your groceries and food prep really helps in the accountability. Seeing that other people are with you helps too. Plus, you can find a few good ideas for recipes that make the diet better. I would agree with previous reviewers that feedback after the first half of the challenge would be an improvement.
Bottom line: If you’re considering doing the challenge, you might consider just joining the gym instead. If I could go back, I would have just joined the gym and skipped the challenge. I met my goal, but it was crazy hard and feel burned out now.
TL;DR: Good gym/workouts, hard diet, nice program that gets results. Recommend the gym but not necessarily the challenge.

The entirety of the staff and clients at Raise the Bar Fitness were so welcoming. I am very over-weight and I have injuries and needed modified exercises. While the trainers pushed you to go further and longer, they never exceeded what I could do safely, although sometimes I thought they were trying to kill me. LOL I never felt singled out or looked down on. Quite the opposite, the staff and even every client I came in contact with; were supportive, friendly and encouraging. Funny to see a huge hunk of a man (Lou Ferrigno type) making conversation and helping me through encouragement, to make it around the building on a run (well sort of a run). But honestly, I can't say enough about how great these people are. Skip the other gyms this is the one you want to frequent. I feel better, look better and have lost weight in slow meaningful manner.

Small but fully equipped, very welcoming local gym. Clean - they follow COVID cleaning rules very seriously! Great workout and nutrition programs. Owners know you by name and are super easy to communicate with. They adjust programs to your needs and abilities. Brian and Jenny are absolutely awesome. I only met them virtually via phone calls, text messages, and Zoom workouts but they truly care about their clients because you become friends. The workouts are awesome offering both easy and regular ways of completing the exercise. Motivation is key and their enthusiasm is contagious. Well worth the investment, rtb and crossfit are the most professionally run fitness classes I have been apart of. Instructors always emphasize and continually coach proper form, and always encourage you to push beyond your comfort zone. Beyond that, no judgement at all, friendly and welcoming community, I would recommend to anyone, whether you are just starting on your fitness journey, or if you are a seasoned veteran.
I failed to ad the owners do an incredible job of maintaining an organized, clean gym. And probably most importantly, I never imagined in my life I'd have this much fun working out! As long as you stick with it (i went from size 46 pants to size 38 since I committed myself) you'll enjoy the journey and with some patience you'll see the results.

I have been a member of this gym for over 2 years- that says a lot because before meeting the Sweeney's I couldn't stay motivated for over 2 months. This is not just a gym. This is a community that keeps you accountable and encourages you to be at class because they need you too to stay on track. I personally prefer the crossfit side but the Reflex side of the gym is awesome too. I attend both sides depending on what my schedule allows. Additionally, I trust the coaches to train my child in the Crossfit kids program- believe me when I tell you I am extremely cautious when it comes to my son and they are wonderful!!!! He doesn't get enough physical activity at school and the crossfit kids program is a lot like what I remember PE used to be - challenging and a great energy burner. Anyway, love Raise the Bar. The door is open and would recommend a conversation with the owners before you think, "crossfit isn't for me." I thought that too and I'm so glad I was more open minded when I needed to be.

My husband and I joined RtB at the end of May 2017 and haven't looked back. You might be here looking at reviews because you are wondering how RtB will help you lose weight, lose body fat, and fit into smaller clothes. Today, I have some metrics to share with you. I have lost 23 lbs and 8% body fat. I have lost 3 inches from my waist, 4 inches from my hips, 4 inches from the area around my belly button. My chest size has decreased 2.5 inches, my biceps 1 inch and my thighs 2.5 inches. I am swimming in the clothes that were way too snug for me in May. The things you stand to lose are real nice but there is something even more fabulous than all you might lose. That is all the things that you stand to gain.
I have gained the concern that Brian, Jenny, and the coaches take in my overall health. This place is more than a gym. Team members at RtB express interest in my goals, and offer plans, including meal plans with real food, to help me get there. After all, one cannot out exercise a bad diet. I have gained all the encouragement and fun that comes from a community of experienced coaches, as well as, encouragement from other members at varying degrees of fitness--novices to the most skillful. Highly skilled members are awesome in that you can see what you are working towards.
Another area where I have experienced gain is the strength I have built while at RtB. In Phys.Ed. class throughout my adolescence I was the girl who couldn’t do much, if anything. Well, that isn’t true. I was pretty good at ribbon wands, haha. Now I can climb a rope, lift weights over my head, do weighted squats, including overhead, and handstands. I’ve discovered back muscles!
Healthwise, I am in much better shape. I see the evidence in a new found softness of my hair and compliments on my “glowing” skin.
I have gained the ability to work like I have never worked before. I am not simply passing time on a treadmill or an elliptical like I have done so many times before. I am pushing myself way beyond the threshold of comfort. I am sore more days than not because of it. That soreness is a badge of honor.
Lastly, I have gained immeasurable pride in the work I am able to do, in work I have done, and in my accomplishments during these past few months. I look forward to seeing what my fitness and health future has in store for me. At RtB you have so much to lose, but, so much more to gain!
