When you get involved with Sun Fitness, you have a chance to see how to go from Tiny Tim to Two Ton Tim Sun! Tim is an excellent trainer that will help you reach your physical peak, inside and outside, gym exercise and macro counting dieting. You get the chance to learn from a professional body builder who also has a delicate touch working with the elderly and you get an amazing gym space to work out in at Merrifield. No one better I’d recommend. I’ve seen Tim do wonders with a number of his clients!

I decided to try Tim out because I would always work out but was never consistent and needed a reason to so I thought, hey if I spent money on a trainer I’d have a reason to stay consistent. What happened next surprised me, with Tim I now have an addiction to going to the gym his knowledge alone is worth the money and knowing what I know now I would of spent the money on a book he wrote. I am healthier than I’ve ever been in my life and I owe it all to Sun fitness. This group of trainers are worth a lot and if I was reading this review right now I’d schedule a session ASAP before they realize what they’re worth and start charging more!

Tim is one of the most knowledgeable physical trainers I have ever encountered; his knowledge ranges from nutrition, the musculature system, and even pathologies. He tailors your regiment specifically and uniquely for you and your goals. He understands everyone has their own process, and meets you where you’re at and how you can best show up for yourself. The best part in all of this is; Tim actually gives a s*** about his clients and is one of the most genuine and kind people I’ve been blessed to encounter. Thank you so so much Tim!

I have been working with Tim since January 2021. Before I had a very rudimentary understanding of strength and cardio, but with Tim’s expertise I was able to develop my skills and get closer to reaching my health and fitness goals. I was able to add inches to all the areas we targeted throughout our time together, as well as get a better understanding of how proper nutrition can help me achieve my end goals. He is extremely understanding of his clients on a personal level and can work with various strengths and skill levels. No matter where you are in your health and fitness journey, Tim will not give up on you. He makes working out approachable, nutrition plans sustainable, and just genuinely has a heart of gold. It’s also a bonus to be able to chat about anime with him! I highly recommend Sun Fitness to help you on reach your goals.

I worked full time and just had my second child within 3 years of each other. My struggle with losing the baby weight was far more challenging the second time around. While my approach to losing weight (aka counting calories) was helping me drop pounds during the work week, I would quickly gain back those same pounds over the weekend. Working with Tim has changed my life. I am confident. I am a better spouse, a better mother - I feel like me!
Tim knew I did not want to just lose weight. I wanted to change my body composition to where I not only felt confident physically, but felt I could maintain the changes in a way that was sustainable. (Can't tell you how many times I said that during our weekly check-ins! lol) We were able to work TOGETHER to accomplish this goal in a way that aligned with my lifestyle.
Through following his nutrition plan and keeping a 3 day fitness routine for myself, I went from 134 - 125 lbs. The key to my success with was being given the "why" and science behind the steps Tim put in place. Shifting my mindset from focusing on calories to balancing (and appreciating) macros and has allowed my body to respond in a way that maximized my results.
My advice for anyone who takes this step - allow yourself grace. As with any change, your MIND will fight you, but your BODY will be begging you to stay. Over time you will learn where you can "give yourself a break" and how to easily pick back up to maintain your goals.

Tim is a phenomenal trainer - he is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely concerned about the health, well-being, and safety of his clients. For the past 6 months, Tim kept me focused on my training goals and motivated me with challenging (but doable) weight lifting routines. His deliberate approach to weight training is well-founded in science and proven methodologies that helped me not only lose body fat, but gain lean muscle and improve my form across a wide variety of exercises. If you are serious about your health and becoming a better (stronger!) version of yourself, then Tim Sun is the trainer you need. I highly recommend his services and consider myself fortunate for having had the opportunity to work with him.

Just wanted to share my wife and I’s personal training experience with Tim. We decided to sign up for couples personal training sessions about two months ago after we both realized it was time to get back in shape. From the start, Tim was engaged in wanting to understand our fitness and weight-loss goals and more importantly putting a plan together for us to get there. The sessions were perfectly tailored to our fitness levels at the time and the diet plan was definitely do-able. What I liked best was having the ability to get a great workout in, in the comfort of my home without having any gym equipment (Tim provided all that was needed). The workouts were intense, but fun. Tim also does a great job making sure we were doing each exercise properly and how it was supposed to feel. In the end, both my wife and have lost about 12-15 lbs each, but more importantly, we are in way better shape than we were 2 months ago (our clothes are a lot looser as well ;-p). Highly recommend Tim to anybody looking to get back in shape or lose weight.

Tim is a great personal trainer and i thoroughly enjoyed the experience and guidance he provided. The workout program he provided allowed me to learn more about myself and apply the knowledge for continued growth in fitness. I never did a barbell clean before this program. With clear direction and guidance, I’m now able to clean and press 160lbs. I highly recommend to anyone willing to improve their strength and mobility; challenge themselves.

I would give this business 6 stars if I could; hands down the best trainer I have ever worked with ever. Tim has trained me for military schools, through a pregnancy, and post-partum recovery! His knowledge base alone makes him worth his weight in gold but add to that his compassion and his strong sense of empathy and you get the BEST results you could hope for physically and mentally. Do yourself a favor and choose a goal, one you think would be too hard for you, and then hire Tim to teach you how to attain it.

Tim is a terrific trainer. He not only has the expertise, but also is willing to use that knowledge to adapt a fitness program to your personal needs. More than once I have had different issues, such as muscle aches or injuries to specific parts of the body. He has always come up with the perfect solution, not just to work around the issue but to directly address the pain. He couples that technical ability with a positive and encouraging personality that helps you do your best. If you train with him, his attention isn’t limited to the hour he spends with you. Send him a question or a request and he will respond. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to maximize their training results.

How fortunate for me to have been handed Tim as my personal trainer. I have been working with him for a little over one year and have not felt this energetic in many years. I am a senior citizen who never worked out. Tim started me on 2 lb. weights and I now walk laps with 15 lb. weights. I am ready for 20 lb. All of his workouts are progressive, whether it is the exercises on the mat, the dumbbells, the Hoist function machine, the TRX, the plunges on the bench or the ball, stability exercises, balance, or endurance. My core and my posture are greatly improved. The programs he designs for me are so well-rounded and all-inclusive on my level at the time. Every week Tim is pushing me to do more. He is very knowledgeable about the body, aches and pains, and one’s abilities. He is so personable that the hour just seems to fly by. He is such a delight and I always look forward to my workouts with his guidance and expertise.

I highly recommend Sun Fitness to learn the skills of lifting, circuiting training, and rebuilding your individual strength. Tim provides focus and ensures sure progress in line with proper form with his attention to detail. He is motivational, consistent, and very knowledgeable. I also recommend him because he works very well with customers with limitations in their joints and limbs because he knows how to apply his knowledge adaptively. I highly recommend Sun Fitness. Tim has created a workout program for me based upon my target areas. More so, Tim travels to my local gym for my workouts. I am amazed (as are my friends) at the positive transformation of my physical appearance and increased strength/stamina in a very short period of time.
