We did have to swap swim schools once due to a time and availability issue unfortunately, but honestly no one can compare to swim kids! My son really had a terrible experience at the “new” place and he said he wanted to go back to his “old” swim school; which was swim kids, so we called them up and really insisted to call us if anything opens up and yay we got a spot! He was so happy to hear that! Speaks volumes for itself when a kid wants to go back. I don’t blame him, the environment is so kid friendly and oriented, so much warmth guidance and directions are given. It’s just amazing.

Back to Coach Jayme who is truly exceptional. She is patient, kind, enthusiastic, sometimes firm, and last but not least attentive in her teaching style. Which evidently has helped to create a safe and engaging environment that helped Hassan build confidence in the water.

Our son started at Swim Kids to beef up his skills in order to pass his Scout swim test. He started in Swim 3 for basic skill review, and within 7 months, is now in the Stealth Free and Back class. He is very happy and has enjoyed each of his swim coaches. I do recommend Swim Kids. They have been very easy to work with and if you need to miss a class, you can do a make up. Works perfect for those last minute life interruptions.

We’ve really enjoyed our time at Swim Kids Gainesville with our baby boy, who started swim lessons at just 4 months old (2 months adjusted age). The Splish Splash class was such a wonderful introduction to water for him, and we’re so grateful the school honored an exception for his early start as a preemie.

This wasn’t our first experience with the school — our daughter also started in the Splish Splash class when she was just 2 months old. She’s now two years old and absolutely LOVES the water. The comfort, skills, and safety awareness she developed through the program have had such a lasting impact. It helped her build confidence in the water from a very young age, and that love for swimming has only grown.

The instructors have always been energetic and welcoming, and we could see both of our children benefit from the gentle, encouraging approach. We’re so thankful for the nurturing start this program have given our kids.

We’re wrapping up our lessons this week for our baby boy and are excited to celebrate his “graduation”! Thank you to the wonderful team at Swim Kids Gainesville for helping foster a love of swimming in both of our little ones — these early experiences have meant so much to our family.

Swimkids is an amazing swim school for our little ones. We started early, when they were 4 months old and at every step level the instructors are so caring, enthusiastic about their work, and they really respect each child’s comfort level with the water. After 3 years, both our kids are so confident and comfortable in the water. I like that they give out stickers for every new skill they learn and they’re a treasure box, where they can pick a toy when they advance up a level. These little things are actually huge motivators for kids, and it keeps them engaged and wanting to keep learning even when some lessons are more challenging. I also love their summer week-long swim camps, they are a great addition to the regular classes, and they helped our oldest advance in her skills after she hit a bit of a block in a more challenging skill. The classes for the younger kids can get pretty pricey, but it is a life changing investment that is worth every penny.

We have been with Coach Freida at Swim Kids since April 2025 and we have had an excellent experience so far! From swim babies to swim toddlers, my daughter always enjoys Freida’s swimming class. She did so well at the pool over the summer because of these classes. At 13-months-old, she already knows how to get out of the pool herself, she does well holding onto the edge of the pool independently, and she loves submersions. She’s getting better at holding her breath longer and she’s more calm for back floats. All of the songs are fun too!!! For make-up classes we also highly recommend Coach Lorena and Coach Yuri!

Swim kids has been and continues to be an awesome activity for my 3 year old. She loves her 2 coaches (Coach Brooke and Coach Nani) and has formed a special bond with each of them as she progresses through the swim levels.

The facility is kept neat and tidy and has a big lobby area where parents can watch their kids through the large glass windows. Each child receives a 30 minute session with their coach where they have fun and learn the basics of swimming at the same time.

The coaches also give progress reports every 1-2 sessions to keep you up to date with everything going on and you are never left questioning how your child is doing.

I couldn’t recommend it enough and am happy we signed my child up for swim lessons here!

This summer we were on vacation and our daughter noticed a girl her age struggling to go in the pool. Our daughter asked if she could help and be like her Coach Mia at Swim Kids. We have had the worst experience time after time with this swim kids location. The first time we went, our teacher was 25 minutes late for a 30 minute class. I was also not provided information that I would be getting in the water with my son. Poor communication.
Many times after that my daughter’s instructor was either late or did not show up and cancelled for no reason.
The business doesn’t allow for us to cancel more than once and receive a token, but they can cancel on us all they want without any accountability. Very disappointed with this establishment. I’m sad because my daughter is dying to learn how to swim but I don’t think this is the place for us.

Prior to choosing Swimkids Gainesville, VA for our son, we tried a few other places but our son was not able to even learn the basics of swimming. After starting at Swimkids he was able to pick it up quickly and now after a few years, have been enrolled in their stealth classes. We have been going to swim kids since my son was 3 months old, and he is now 2 years old. We've had our fair share of instructors, and they were all great in their own way, but we have seen such incredible progress and confidence with our son since we started working with coach Topher. He has such a gift with meeting the kids where they are and giving parents the skills and confidence to push their kids when they're ready. My son is doing things in the water I never know toddlers could do at such a young age! I will say at times the class size has been a little crowded which can make it hard to practice specific skills at certain points in the lesson, but we have found a session that isn't as crowded and that has worked for our family.

We started at SwimKids when our sweet 22 month old was only 2 months old. We tried some county classes, and they were just nowhere near the quality we felt we received at SwimKids. Our coach, Lily is the most patient and incredible person in the world. We went through a period of separation anxiety were our little didn’t want to do some exercises and she was extremely encouraging and helping in overcoming that without ever pushing our little to a level of discomfort. Our baby has learned so much through her and we’re so thankful for our experience at this location ❤️

SwimKids has a very small pool and is overcrowded. At least 6-7 groups are trying to learn at the same time in small areas of water in this already small pool. The price is too high for the quality of the facility and actual time used for lesson. Classes are scheduled back-to-back with no transition time in between groups, so there is no full time of lesson. If you pay for a 30-minute lesson, there is only about 25 minutes of lesson or less. Forget about showers even the soap and paper towel dispersers are nonfunctional (sensors do not work) and/or empty every time I try to use them. I talked to the front desk multiple times but it did not improve. With $32.99 for a 30 minute lesson, this is not what we deserve but with no competitor nearby this place still gets busy. There is an urgent need of a bigger and better swimming pool in this area; if someone invests on it that business will prosper if they provide a good service. The only reason I am still using this place is I don't know of other nearby places but I am considering driving a little more if I find another place.

We regret ever coming here. Our boys lost so much time in endless repetitions detached from any progress toward learning their strokes that discouraged them and convinced them they weren’t good swimmers. When we switched to another place with swim instruction, they made great progress in a condensed amount of time that showed how much time and money we had sunk into the wrong place for years. I still don’t feel confident in my 9yo and 7yo’s abilities to be able to be okay in a pool setting, despite SwimKids’ emphasis on safety. There is no safety when your child walks away from years of instruction with little more than a glorified dog paddle. Save yourself a lot of time and money wasted and go to a place that emphasizes teaching strokes earlier instead of abstract piecemeal skills.

This place used to be very well run and all the children excelled in their classes. Under the new management it is overcrowded and frankly a cluster for both the parents and the children. Each class has too many children and the area to actually swim has been cut in half. Maybe about a 10 x 10 area is reserved for 3 a 6 kids and a coach and sometimes 2 coaches. Sadly we are having to look for alternatives.

Excellent school. I've had my daughter enrolled here since October '21. Allison and all the coaches have been by far the best I could ask for. I also appreciate the flexibility in scheduling I am able to have with this school as things happen and cancellations come up. We have been at Swim kids since my daughter was about a year old, she loves it and now as a 3 year old she can swim all over the pool and loves to jump in from the diving board or side. Our son has been coming to Swim Kids for about 2 and a half years. He has gone from Swim tots to Stealth. When he started he didn’t want to get his face wet or go under the water. He now swims across the pool without any problems. All the instructors were great, we especially love Allison and Topher. We feel like a part of the family here. The only negative comment I have is that it seems like the class size is to large and not conducive to listening to the instructor at times. It could also be the way some of the kids don’t listen.

Best swim school especially for children with special needs. My daughter has been coming for three months and has had amazing progress. She went from not knowing how to swim to being in their level 4/5 now. So each kids have 10 min actually.
Because the pool is very small and there were at least six groups children there, they are trying to learn swimming in a tiny area in a very short time.

After two weeks, my child learned nothing.

I am not complaining about the instructors, I guess they don't have enough break time to rest.

Maybe other places of this company are better, I didn't experience them.

We absolutely love SwimKids! As a former swim instructor and teacher I can say, with great faith, that the swim instructors at SwimKids Gainesville are some of the best. We have worked with Coach Taylor and Coach Denise and they have made our 19 month old a confident, strong pre-swimmer. Every week I'm amazed at the skills she is demonstrating and the length of her breath hold. It is expensive but you get a whole lot more than you would at a rec center for this age. This is definitely a situation of you get what you pay for and it is worth every penny.

I had purchased several camps already this summer, with the intention to do more.

My daughter just finished a second level 4 camp and had graduated to level 5. I had planned to purchase the next level, but would have taken my time. During the last camp, since she was advancing to the next level, they asked me several times if I wanted to sign her up for level 5.

I did want to, but wasn't sure when. Due to the repeated asking, this prompted me make that decision sooner than I otherwise would have.

On Friday I signed her up for the next camp. Monday I get an email, July 4th sale, buy one, get 50% off.. I was disappointed. If left on my own, I would have signed up this week and been included in the sale.

I called today, explaining I missed the sale by one business day and asked if anything could be done. The guy on the phone was intentionally dense and avoided directly answering my question. Instead, he excitedly kept pushing, "We could sign you up for two more!"

He wasn't picking up what I was putting down. I responded, "I think after this experience, we may go somewhere else for future classes."

I get it. They don't have to help me. They have no legal reason to give me 50% off another camp. But it's called good business and valuing your customers.

I had purchased several camps in a month period, I would like to add one more. But on principal, I would like to be offered to be included in this sale that I barely missed.

It isn't about the money, it is about principal and feeling valued.. and not just another number. He could have at least had the respect to say, "Let me look into that for you." Instead of continuing to push 2 more camps. His actions only left me feeling used and disrespected.

Great school, structure and coaches. We had coach Denise and she was excellent. Sometimes the water is not warm enough and it's a painful class. The worst is when you get out of the pool area because they keep the AC on the kids are freezing until you dry and cloth them. They don't have showers there either. And the price increased what it makes the cheapest class $33 per lesson.

Recommended to us by our friends who are swim team coaches in the area. I’m so impressed with these instructors. They’ve been encouraging and inspiring to our four year old. My child has made a great deal of improvement, pushed herself (no small feat there), and had fun. We’ve done two SwimTots camps and soon a third. She’s gotten more out of this than individual neighborhood swim lessons and WARF lessons. The teachers are motivating her!! Thank you!

I appreciate the incentive program (ring the bell when you advance/ treasure box/ getting stickers) and see how it motivates my child. They even send a congratulatory post card in the mail- so fun for a little kid!

I was a little confused about the class expectations at first but found that you can see them on the parent portal which helped me prime her for what she needed to improve each time. Wish we got to talk to the instructors after to get to know them.

This small school with an indoor pool offers intensive and weekly classes to teach basic skills for swimming. Each skill achieved gets a sticker and each level completed gets a "treasure". Parents can track each kids progress in skills and level on the website. Teachers are kind and knowledgeable and the process is very adaptable to each swimmer. Overall good experience but the downgrade is it is definitely on the pricier side.
