Anna Pittman and The Breathing Space is THE BEST yoga studio to go to if you are in the Blacksburg area. she offers beginner, intermediate and advanced yoga classes. The sessions are way more than just moving through the poses (asana). Anna makes subtle adjustments for each individual so you can get the full benefit of each pose. Much of the class is learning Yoga in the traditional sense, of which asana or Hatha yoga is only a small part. We learn about breath, meditation, grounding, mindfulness, release, trauma release, expansion, Love. You won't find any acro-yoga, hip hop yoga, or other trendy deviations here. A session of yoga at The Breathing Space will leave you feeling, refreshed, expansive, and in Love. You will want to return again and again.
The physical setting of the studio is gorgeous, nestled along the banks of Tom's Creek. The porch looks out over a lush view of natural vegetation and flowing waters, and the sounds of the rushing stream add to the magic of this place. The peacefulness of the location itself is a huge bonus to those visiting this haven away from the hustle and bustle of town. It's worth the easy10 minute drive from Blacksburg.
