I have been working with Ian for over two years now and he has changed the way I move and think about strength training. I could not be more thankful for his kindness, knowledge, and expertise in his trade.

When I started with Ian, I worked with him for lower back pain at a physical therapy clinic. Once I was rehabbed from that, I shifting into doing personal training with him to make sure I was moving correctly in my everyday workouts. What was just lower body training sessions has turned into full body. Personal training through Ian has been one of the best choices I’ve made.

The Glute Institute has been such a game changer for me. The equipment makes it easy to really isolate different muscles, and Ian took the time to actually explain the biomechanics so I understand what’s happening and not just “do this form,” but why the form matters. This approach works for me so I can connect mind and muscle and actually know what I should be feeling. I will definitely keep coming here.

Training with Ian has completely transformed the way I move, train, and feel in my body. His deep understanding of physical therapy combined with personal training has helped me develop more strength—safely and effectively—than with any other trainer I’ve worked with. Ian knows exactly how to push for progress while prioritizing injury prevention.

He has an exceptional ability to know when it’s time to pause, adjust, or push forward. During workouts, he gently guides me mid-lift to isolate the right muscles and eliminate any compensations—something I never experienced before. He’s always thinking about how the brain is wiring movement, which has helped me build lasting, functional strength for everyday life.

Thanks to Ian, I’ve made incredible gains without pain or setbacks. I feel stronger, more capable, and genuinely happy with my fitness. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

WHAT A TEAM!! I’ve known Ian and Cailin for years! I first met them as physical therapists when I had a total knee replacement, and since then, they’ve become my personal trainers as well. I’ve trained with Ian for about 12 years and Cailin for the last 4, and I can honestly say they are the absolute best at what they do.What sets them apart is their unique blend of physical therapy expertise and personal training — it’s truly the best of both worlds.

As I’ve gotten older and faced more physical challenges, they’ve continued to support me every step of the way. Not only have they helped my knees, but they’ve also worked on my shoulder and mobility issues. Thanks to them, my aches and pains have lessened, my knees feel stronger, and my shoulder pain is completely gone.

We’ve been building muscle mass, improving strength, and addressing mobility concerns in a thoughtful, personalized way.

Another bonus is their new gym, The Glute Institute in Herndon. It’s a bright, clean, and well-equipped space that’s easy to access with plenty of parking right out front. It makes every visit a positive, hassle-free experience.

One of the smartest decisions we can make as we age is to work with personal trainers who have a background in physical therapy. Take a look at their credentials!!  Ian and Cailin not only provide individualized attention but also continually educate themselves on new techniques and approaches. I can’t recommend them enough!

I first met Cailin when she was my physical therapist helping me recover from persistent neck pain. Her expertise, attention to detail, and genuine care during that process made a lasting impression on me. Once I “graduated” PT I decided to continue working with her as a personal trainer—and I’m so glad I did.
Since transitioning to strength training with her, I’ve made consistent progress while staying injury-free. She designs workouts that are both effective and tailored to my body’s needs, always keeping an eye on form and function to ensure long-term health. Her background in physical therapy adds a layer of knowledge and precision that sets her apart from other trainers.
Thanks to her guidance, I feel stronger, more confident, and better equipped to move through life with strength and resilience. I highly recommend Cailin to anyone looking for a thoughtful, knowledgeable, and supportive fitness professional.
