My husband and I do a weekly duet with Jo. Whether we are complaining about an ache or asking to strengthen something, Jo always seems to know some Pilates exercises that are perfect for what we need. It's a great core/all over workout that is helping us age well. Jo is great, but The Pilates Center also has a community atmosphere. We feel like we know the other instructors in a way, even though we have never had classes with them.

The Pilates Center offers more than meets the eye.

My son had a sports related injury and no one could diagnose the exact problem, so no treatments were working. Mary Jane was able to find the exact muscle that was injured and heal it with Muscle Activation Treatment. That combined with Pilates sessions with Jo changed his athleticism in ways that he could not have imagined. As my son put it, β€œThey are the best at what they do!”

I came to the studio because I was suffering from hip pain when running and it started to disrupt my sleep. Between the Muscle Activation (MAT) Sessions with Mary Jane and the personalized Pilates instruction with Megan, all issues have been resolved. MAT also resolved shoulder pain/tension I had experienced almost everyday for over two years and it did it with one session. It is two years later and the pain has not returned. I am very active doing aerobic exercise 5-6 times per week and Pilates is a great addition to keep my core strong and injuries at bay.

Working with the Pilates Center has been the best approach for restoring my back and working towards better fitness. I really like having options for a customized program that includes both one-one and classes. The staff that has worked with me is very knowledgeable and caring - Jo, Megan, and Elizabeth! I first became interested in Pilates while recovering from several surgeries. Pilates seemed a natural extension of my required rehabilitation programs.
I have taken private instruction from Elizabeth Faxon since 2013. In addition to regaining strength Pilates has improved my balance, I am a strong advocate for Pilates.

I find the staff and management at the Pilates Center to be exceptional. They emphasize the basic Pilates principles requiring one to focus on proper breathing, engaging the right muscles and achieving proper body alignment; it is not merely a work out. The classes are small providing close instructor guidance and personal attention to ensure everyone gets the most benefit out of the sessions.
I take weekly classes and private sessions. Additionally, I have recently had some MAT sessions that have relieved muscle pain and improved my range of motion. I have found that I have an increased body awareness, improved posture, greater flexibility, balance and strength. After a session, I feel taller, more energized and relaxed.

My wife and I have been taking "duet" sessions at the Pilates Center for the past 4 years. As a result, we have found ourselves to be more fit, stronger, have a greater range of motion and much improved balance as a result of that work. The instructors with whom we work are well- educated and follow the guidelines established by ongoing assessments of our abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. We both have also taken advantage of the muscle activation technique (MAT) sessions offered by the Center's owner, Mary Jane Amrein, and that has identified and corrected specific areas of weakness or imbalance. We have learned that many professional athletes use this technique on a routine basis to improve their performance and strength. The facility is clean, well-lighted, and well-equipped with the latest Pilates Stott fitness and exercise machines, work-out equipment, as well as an infra-red sauna.

My husband has been going to the Pilates Center for six years and has increased his strength and flexibility enabling him to golf three days a week or more and walk the course when he likes. The golf pro had suggested core strengthening exercise so he decided to try Pilates. The quality of his life has significantly improved with the two weekly sessions along with his golf game!
I also enjoy golf and over the past few years have developed lower back pain. My husband encouraged me to try Pilates and I have been taking two weekly sessions for two months now. I wish I had started when he did six years ago! I feel all my muscles strengthening with each session!

The best Pilates trainers in the area work at The Pilates Center. They are well trained, highly qualified, experienced & knowledgeable. They help their clients & class members improve their fitness levels safely & effectively. Having had personal training sessions there for the last five years, I can also tell you that the trainers make the workouts & classes fun! My workouts at The Pilates Center have increased my strength & my mobility. My chronic back pain has improved significantly. I didn't think that was even possible! Training at The Pilates Center has helped me reclaim my life. I highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to become more fit & have fun doing it. The studio is very well equipped, spacious, sparkling clean & comfortable. If you stop by to check it out, you will receive a warm & friendly welcome. You can also request & schedule a free 30-min. I had been going to the Pilates center for years & was always happy with all the instructors with whom I worked.As I got older I had problems with my hips & knees & they worked with me to help alleviate the pain . Eventually, I neede to have both hips & my left knee replaced. Prior to the surgeries I worked out 3 times a week and went to muscle activation with Mary Jane to get ready . It was well worth it .My recovery from all the surgeries was greatly enhanced and I recovered quite rapidly. My surgeon credits my mobility to having worked out prior to surgery. So , thanks for all your help & encouragement! I couldn’t have done it without you ! Thanks to Elizabeth & Mary Jane !!!
