Instructors and overall good vibes at the studio. I had not done yoga in 7 years and felt very welcomed.

True North Power Yoga is the real deal. The community here is something special — teachers and students alike are genuinely supportive, and there’s a sense of belonging from the moment you walk in. Baptiste Power Yoga can sound intense, but every class meets you exactly where you are. The practice will challenge you, but it also grounds you, and you’ll leave feeling both stronger and lighter.

This is their final month in the temporary space before moving into the brand-new studio, and the energy right now is incredible — a mix of growth, community, and transformation. During October 2025, furloughed federal workers can drop in free with their government ID and soak in some of that community positivity (and maybe a little sweat).

I strongly recommend the Basics class — it’s the perfect entry point for newcomers, but you will find lots of the tenured regulars also will be attending for good reason. The new Myofascial Release (MFR) class on Tuesday nights is a must for anyone with a strength training routine, and my personal favorites are the music classes, where the flow and the soundtrack help me get some of my all-time best workouts in 75 minutes.

If you’re new, check the website for first-time student best practices — and then just show up. You’ll be welcomed, supported, and probably hooked from the first class.

The instructor was very knowledgeable and made the poses accessible to all ability levels. She was friendly, warm, and welcoming. Studio is very inviting and relaxing with lounge areas, mints, and chocolates. I felt like it was a very customer-focused experience.

I have been attending Hot Power Yoga at True North since March 2025 and have completed over 30 classes in that time. I could not recommend this place enough! Majority of their classes have no music, which was new for me at first, but now I prefer it (I still love the 75 min with music though - it’s fun to switch it up). Each class does follow a similar pattern and flow, which at first can feel redundant, but stick with it! As your practice deepens and you experiment with different binds, holds, and positions you’ll find that every class feels completely different. Each instructor is great in their own way. I have yet to have a bad experience. The guidance of each instructor has really helped me learn to focus my mind and breathing. Special shoutout to Gabbie - she was my first instructor and gives excellent cues. Her words of wisdom during class stick with me daily! Kat is another great instructor who has really helped me with form and alignment. Her fun personality makes her classes a joy to attend. Another shout out to Mike. I thoroughly enjoy his classes and ability to challenge the mind. He is really knowledgeable on the small tweaks you can make in your body to elevate your practice. Most recently, as my work schedule has changed I have been able to attend Debbie’s classes. She is amazing and the energy in her classes is electric. You have to experience it yourself. True north is also student friendly! They offer an $80/month unlimited yoga for students. As a grad student who will be short of an income for the better part of 3 years, having an affordable studio to attend has been a life saver. Can’t wait for the new studio to open!

This is their temporary, pop up location.

Huge open space. I stopped by for the the community class that was ran by Karis...seemed that she was newer to teaching... poses had uneven sequences, some where faster, some others were slower. Got a good workout and stretching in regardless.

I just love the teachers there and the atmosphere. Even though I don’t go as often it seems that everyone knows me there and it just feels comfortable being there.

I’m so incredibly grateful that True North Power Yoga opened after Down Dog closed its doors. When that community space disappeared, I was worried about where I would find my hot yoga fix, but thanks to Colleen and Mike, we didn’t just get a replacement studio, we got something even more intentional, inspired, and welcoming.
The instructors here are phenomenal. Colleen’s Sunday class with music is the perfect blend of movement and energy, and a fun way to wrap up the weekend. She brings both strength and compassion into the room, and her hands-on assists are always just what I need to deepen my practice.
Debbie is great, especially for anyone newer to the practice or looking to refine the basics. She has a gift for explaining alignment and breath in a clear and empowering way. Her classes are grounding and accessible yet still challenging in the best way.
And then there’s Jordan, whose calm, centered teaching style is such a joy. His classes bring a peaceful energy that helps you really tune in and stay present throughout the flow. He strikes that perfect balance of ease and strength.
And while I’ve called out just a few, every instructor at True North is fantastic. Each brings their own unique energy, expertise, and heart to the mat.
I’m really excited about the new permanent studio on the horizon, but I have to say, the pop-up space has been fantastic in the meantime. The vibe is still strong, and the classes are just as hot and sweaty.

Love the people here! Instructors are the best 🤩 The atmosphere is amazing. It’s been a year since I started hot yoga. Never done any yoga before. I remember my first class on 01/03/2024, with Coleen. I still remember the date as it was the day I fell in love with yoga! Thank you Coleen ☺️ Appreciate all the instructors and founders of TNPY. Recommend to everyone who wants to be a part of the incredible community. Namaste 🤗

Welcoming studio with great practice space (especially given that it’s only the temporary one). Debbie gives clear instructions and options to amp things up. I will be back.

Hope they offer more non-heated classes once they move to a permanent location, can’t go now due to the heat

Great teachers, very professional, and much needed in Herndon. I would probably give this 5 stars once they move to the new permanent space across the street!
