Dean and Mike are excellent trainers. I have never been to a gym where the trainers try very hard to get the best out of me. The work outs are intense and all trainers pay attention to detail that allow you to improve your form and get in the best shape of your life. I started going to this gym in June of 2025 and now take 2-4 classes per week on average and that is all because of the intense workouts and the excellent trainers.

I've been going here for Boxing Level 1 and Boxing and Conditioning classes for a few months now. The classes in my opinion are very good all with a great mix of Basic Boxing combinations, Heavy bags work and Fitness conditioning. Coach Mike keeps us on our toes and these classes are well suited for anyone who wants to get into boxing or is curious about it!

I took a class through ClassPass. As a complete beginner to boxing, I was excited but nervous to try this kickboxing class, only to be met with rudeness that completely soured the experience. When I asked the instructor if the class was beginner-friendly, he asked if I’d read the 7,000 or so reviews on class pass. Then, a fellow female who wasn’t even part of the conversation chimed in with a comment about how I should “up my prescription” if I didn’t see them. This initial interaction made me feel unwelcome and set a negative tone for the entire class.
Although the instructor later showed me some of the moves, I couldn’t shake the discomfort from the initial encounter. The workout itself was decent. The environment is not the cleanest, but maybe that’s the norm for the boxing gym. For beginners, be prepared for challenges like sore knees and shins.
Ultimately, I came to the class hoping to release stress, but instead, I left feeling stressed and unwelcome. If you’re new to boxing, I’d recommend finding a more supportive and friendly environment.

Love this place and the people! Warm, inviting camaraderie so I really felt at ease. Instructors are fun, attentive and hone in on form. The workouts are tough (with breaks added in), it's a true full-body workout but since every class is different it's always fun and new. Parking is easy and schedule is flexible. If you're new to boxing or experienced, or like me and hadn't boxed in years and missed it, or just looking for a fun all body workout with cardio and muscle work, you'll feel at home here.

Please don’t waste your money on these people. I paid for a drop in class and they weren’t ready for me at all, deliberately ignored me at the front, and refused to help. This is a group of people who aren’t interested in anyone joining their gym or are extremely unprofessional. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Also not true at all and what an attitude you have. I paid under Steven Stallings and signed up for August 12. I also called and emailed and received no response. I’d like for this situation to be addressed or I’m going to keep posting reviews like this.

Love this place. Great staff, great workouts. Friendly, welcoming, no frills atmosphere. Definitely a highlight of my summer on the east coast. Solid class variety + different levels and class times. Gear available for purchase (gloves, wraps, etc.). Parking lot is a little tight, but I could always find a spot. Wish I had one of these gyms everywhere I lived...! Thanks DB, MD for a great couple of months.

Quality of instruction second to none! There’s something for everyone here. Tyson’s City Boxing is a great place to get a work out in and to meet active people. No contract required! Drop in for a class for just $25 and you get a free pair of hand wraps.

This is a real gym. Your experience level does not matter.
Whether you’ve been training for a day or ten years, you will get more out of this place than any other in the DMV.
They have a month to month membership, or you can pay per class. No contract.
The sparring is great here, as is the novice instruction.
Dean is a living legend; there’s a reason the reviews are so good!

Great place to workout and learn how to fight/box/kickbox/etc.
It flies a bit under the radar but the two main coaches are amazing and personal training is great for helping you achieve your fitness goals. It's a good place to get built if you want as well and people are friendly. Only it's a bit small so classes tend to be packed depending on which days you choose.
Boxing ring and equipment are great and you can buy all the stuff you need there.
Beginners are very welcome and classes are separated for different skill groups.

Just moved to the area and was a little hesitant to get back into boxing after a very long time off. The staff and classmates are all great here. If you are looking for a gym that will motivate you, get you in shape and teach you good technique, I definitely recommend this gym. Staff is dedicated to the craft, care about their clients success and will meet you at whatever level you are at. Check out the drop in class and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

The owner, Dean, full experienced with Thai kickboxing from Patana Thailand. I’m a Thai immigrant moving here 3 years ago. Of cause my believe is Thai kickboxing is the best fighting sport. So when I’m looking for fighting skill for my son who is often a target at school. He is love it and Dean knows what he is doing. My down point is it’s little far and traffic around here.
