It’s rare to find someone excellent at their craft these days. I can say with confidence Victoria is one of those rare finds. She is invested in her clients and you can tell she knows what she is doing. For anyone looking for better mobility, flexibility, and strength this is the place for you!

I am so thankful I found Victoria at VA Pilates. I’ve been in and out of physical therapy for years with various ailments with some improvement. Victoria has taken my recovery to a whole new level, one that I didn’t know was possible. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what she does and is so generous with passing on her expertise. She pushes her students to challenge themselves while still being mindful of their limitations. After just one class I felt like a new person and continue to see improvement with each class. I truly know that I can live pain-free, all thanks to Victoria!

VA Pilates was an exceptional experience. My wife invited me to attend the 6:00 AM class today and I absolutely loved it. As someone who has little experience in pilates, the class was extremely informative. Victoria explained every movement in great detail and challenged me to improve my form and rotation with each new exercise. The result was a 10/10 workout! I didn't even think these muscles existed, and I exercise very frequently. Victoria identified areas in my back/hips that required attention (and she was spot on since I herniated my L4/L5 several years ago). I look forward to attending this class again and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Victoria is a true expert at her craft! Learning Pilates from her has allowed me to tap into my deep core muscles in a way that I haven't felt in years and even eliminated back pain after one session. Victoria is the best!! I started seeing Victoria for corrective/mobility sessions to treat my chronic hip, lower back, and shoulder pain. After 3 months, the daily pain that often disrupted my sleep and daily activities became infrequent and mild and no longer wakes me up! Now we are incorporating Pilates into our sessions and I am getting stronger and more fit than I have been in years.
Victoria is extremely knowledgable and highly skilled.
She designs programs specific to each client, and focuses on the importance of the mind-body connection. She is kind, funny, and encouraging. Whether you already practice Pilates, you want to begin, or you have sports injuries or pain, I highly recommend VA Pilates!

Victoria’s method for lengthening and strengthening muscles is unlike any training I’ve done. I’ve been trying to heal the chronic tightness on the right side of my body, particularly in my hip and lower back, and in the first session she increased my mobility and taught me exercises to do at home so I can continue to make progress between our sessions. Her wisdom about the body makes me feel so safe every time I work with her. Anyone would benefit from this practice which both heals and optimizes performance!

How to write this review without sounding like a crazy stalker…BUT Victoria really is that AMAZING. I started looking for a new pilates instructor after my previous one from another larger studio in the area moved. I was about to stop doing pilates, because I was not seeing the results I had expected and the terminology they used was never explained properly. I thought I would try a session with Victoria before completely giving up, that was a few months ago and I am hooked on “real” pilates now. I regret the time I spent doing fancy pilates and wish I had found Victoria sooner. Victoria has an in-depth understanding of the body and is able to explain how to properly activate the right muscles instead of just powering through the moves. Pilates is starting to finally make sense! She has helped me so much with my posture and loosening up over-extended, tight muscles that even physical therapists have not been able to help me with. She is also kind and funny. If I had the time and money, I would go every day. I am so grateful to have found Victoria and her skeleton models!
UPDATE October 2024:
Victoria is what you need, but don’t realize you need. Or maybe you realize you need something for your achy breaky body, but have tried various exercise modalities, physical therapists, doctors, massage therapists, etc and they haven’t quite been able to get you long-term positive changes. Victoria has a beautiful new studio in Old Town and she is now offering group classes. She is thoughtful, kind, intelligent, and constantly educating herself about the body. Try one of her classes, if you don’t like it, you never have to go back, but I doubt that will happen. I think you will finally have an “aha” moment about how to strengthen and rehabilitate your muscles and joints and want to go every day.

My first pilates session at Victoria’s studio exceeded my expectations. She started with a thorough consultation and assessment to understand where I was physically, taking the time to study my past injuries and get a better sense of my body's limits / range-of-motion. Throughout the session, she was hyper-sensitive towards my communication with her whenever I felt any unusual pain, making sure I was comfortable yet still being firm in guiding me through the adjustments I needed. Victoria tailored the session perfectly to my level and demonstrated incredible knowledge of body mechanics. I felt confident and supported the entire time. Highly recommend her studio to anyone, whether you're new to pilates or an experienced athlete.

MUST GO! I’m not a traditional Pilates girlie so I was a little nervous for my first class. WOW was I surprised. We focused on mobility and Victoria put all my nerves aside. She was patient and very knowledgeable about literally every aspect of this craft. I had no idea there was more to Pilates than the reformer stuff you see on social media. Pleasantly surprised and unpleasantly sore the next day, haha! Great class, great instructor, and great vibes.

I've been seeing Victoria for over a year and she's transformed my body! I don't even know how to explain the exercises she's put me through which work on addressing pain, flexibility, strength, and sometimes even trauma work. I truly love coming to see Victoria because she has never done the same session twice unless she knows it will help a certain area of pain or stretching. She in tune to me and my body and can always look at me to see what areas to address. She always asked where I'm feeling pain and address' the issue in our session. I feel more toned, flexible and my overall strength has improved. She's always training with the best of the best and bringing back her new knowledge on me during our sessions. She is calm and patient and I've learned more about my body because she's always showing visuals to drive the point home. I love love love her and will be going to her as long as I live!

I had almost given up on ever being able to fully recover from several grueling, sports-related orthopedic surgeries. Then I found Victoria at VA Pilates.
Victoria is highly trained, incredibly skilled, and completely devoted to the pursuit of Pilates perfection. Most important of all, she deeply cares about her clients. Everybody has unique recovery and fitness needs. Victoria showed me an amazing ability to discern my needs in order to deliver the perfect custom-designed training program for me.
With Victoria as my Pilates North Star and constant guide, I am regaining muscle mass, balance and strength. And my mind has reasserted control over my body---a foundational principle of Pilates!
Come to Victoria at VA Pilates prepared to focus and work hard. You will have her undivided attention for every second of your session. But also come prepared to be thoroughly educated about how and why the various stretches, exercises, and Pilates routines are so important to your body health.

Life changing...transformational, sounds a bit dramatic, but working with Victoria over the past year has been nothing short of that. She is intuitive and tough in the best of ways, and week by week, she's changed my expectations and understanding of my body in ways I can not begin to put into words. I am eternally grateful that I ran into her in the hallway of my old building last November, and decided to give her classic pilates classes a try. It has felt like a gift from the universe.

I've only had a few sessions with Victoria, but already she has introduced me to muscles and motions I didn't know I had! She is incredibly knowledgeable about anatomy and deeply passionate about teaching correct movement and body mechanics. My husband also sees her, and she plans each session for each of us, customizing what we need (no cookie cutter approach!). I'm excited to see where we'll both go in our work with her - which, BTW, is also a lot of fun. Victoria is delight, a true professional, and we feel lucky to have found her.

Victoria is the best of the best. No other instructor or exercise has changed my body the way practicing Pilates with her has. She is so dedicated to all of her clients and her own practice. I enthusiastically endorse and recommend Victoria, owner of Virginia Pilates! With her extensive knowledge of anatomy and Pilates, as well as her outstanding listening skills, she designs a program specific to each of her clients. I was a long distance runner and tennis player, and in my 50’s started suffering from neck, back and knee injuries. Since working with Victoria, I have made huge improvements in my overall core and body strength, posture, and well being. I wish I had found her in my 20's, as I could have prevented so many injuries.

Victoria is so much more than a Pilates teacher. I have never worked with anyone so dedicated to learning the human anatomy and how everything works together for the best of her clients. I have been with Victoria for over 5 years, and she has changed my life. Her ability to read my movements and provide micro- adjustments has been life changing. At the age of 62, I am in the best shape of my life in large part to Victoria. She has taught/trained me to access muscles I didn't even know existed. I am currently working through a calf tear that I sustained on the tennis court, and Victoria dedicated her time to learning all she could about the injury and tailored the class for my benefit. I have been repeating the exercises for the week and they have been incredibly beneficial for recovery and pain management. I know this sounds like a gushy over the top review, but Victoria is one of kind. If you want a plain old go-through-the-motions Pilates class then Victoria isn't for you, but if you want someone dedicated to well-being, her clients, AND will work you hard, then you should run and sign up for a class. You will not regret it.
