It has floor exercises for seniors. It has a water class 3x a week. A senior can choose between floor or water to get in exercises.

This review is about the staff, not the gym itself. Me and my boyfriend stopped in for our 3-day free pass. We have lived here for years, and were asked to provide our local IDβs. I handed mine to the front desk person, with my local address on it, and the staff member scrutinized my ID for about 20 seconds, almost as if they didnβt think it were a real ID. When it was my boyfriendβs turn, we then tried to explain that my he has lived here also and just hasnβt updated the address on his license. We were met with suspicion. The front desk staff even asked if we had the same last name. I donβt see how that would change whether we live here or not.
I reached for my ID back, and the front desk staff continued to study it before slowly and reluctantly handing it back to me. I donβt understand why such security measures are in place. Me and my boyfriend have lived here for years, have a local address, work in Harrisonburg, and were still treated with suspicion. Definitely will not be getting a membership since this is how they treat locals. We are young and look like college students, which is why I assume we were treated this way.

Full disclosure this is kind of a petty review, but nonetheless I am from out of town and tried to get the 3-day pass because I was going to be in town for about a month and wanted to check out the gym. It is not advertised anywhere that you have to be a city resident to get 3-day pass but when I showed up an extremely rude front desk guy turned me away without even letting me explain my case because my ID was an out of town address. I can't speak on the gym itself, but the staff and policies are not it with this place.

You're not gonna find a better all-around gym in Harrisonburg. You're paying regular gym prices for what is essentially a health club, just a little less fancy looking. I have had very few problems with the staff and members of this gym.

Very nice staff. Full gym. Machines a little older but clean and work well. Was visiting from Miami on business and still charged $12 per day. Wish a visitors rate was lower as I only used it twice.

Bigger blond guy working there is always walking around talking to girls working out. Creepy. Never talking to guys just pretty girls. Not professional. Odor is terrible. Menβs locker room smells disgusting.
The other employees were all very professional and courteous but between smell, outdated equipment, and creepin employee on all the chicks. No thanks.

I was down here in Harrisburg VA for work and the gym I go to doesn't have a franchise in this area. Being away for a week I really wanted to get in a workout. After reading reviews from different gyms in the area I decided to give this place a try. My experience was an A+. This gym has a lot of machines, and was not packed like my gym in the afternoon/evening. The staff were great, and I was able to get my workout in no issues. Members here were very respectful as well. Anytime I'm working in the area this would easily be the gym away from home.

I came here on a business trip and decided to try this gym. Valley Fitness had a great setup of free weights, cardio machines, a pool, a sauna/hot tub, and a track. I never had to wait, and the front desk was accommodating. I will be coming next time I come here for work.

They recommended we work out here instead of their little gym. This health club is very clean and has up to date equipment.

We love our gym! The staff here are amazing and super friendly. They have a great selection of machines and free weights! I am a college student that was shopping gyms, therefore I signed up for a guest pass. I assumed no issue would arise until I arrived and I told the front desk lady that I had a pass. She then asked me for my ID and said in a condescending tone that I am not a local resident and rolled her eyes. She then asked if I was a student and proceeded to tell me to pay if I wanted to check out the gym. Discriminatory against college students that are gym shopping. Never in my life had I had an issue using a guest pass to tour a gym before purchasing a membership, quite comical. I would avoid unless youβre a townie

I want to preface this message by saying I really enjoy coming to this gym. The staff is lovely, the equipment is in good shape, and there is a plethora of cardio machines to use. I do have one complaint though, I have noticed that in the parking lot of the gym there are a few individuals that for whatever reason think It is okay to take up multiple spaces with larger vehicles (mainly pick ups) this is pretty common in Harrisburg so It has never really bothered me until today. When I was walking into the gym I saw a mustang double parked halfway in one of the only handicap spots in the lot. When I entered I let the front desk know about the issue and they responded with a great attitude. Whether something was done I do not know. The gym has ample parking and I have never had any issue finding a spot. I am posting this here because I am hoping that someone higher up notices and can understand how behavior like this can shed a bad light on the gym for someone who is coming for their first visit. I do not think that any action really needs a to be taken other than explaining to these individuals that their actions could effect others experiences at the gym. I think this saying is applicable "Very few will comment on a clean wall, but many will notice a dirty one."

This is a former Gold's Gym. It is very large, and has a lot of equipment. It has way more than the average gym. Dor example, I counted 4 squat racks that can double as deadlift platforms. Also, they have one dedicated deadlift platform with plenty of bumper plates.

The hours are great, the facility is kept in great condition, the equipment is relevant, and classes are offered. Everything for a value based price. One thing that I would like to see is a spin dryer for we swimming suits. Keep up the work Valley Fitness!!
