People sit on their phone on the machine even during busy hours and then don't rerack weights or clean after. Mat pilates isn't challenging enough

I was hoping more from vida pilates, but they confirmed Classical Pilates isn't for me. I've never been on a gratz reformer, but... there's a reason why newer models exist bc they fix the problems older generations have. I'm 5'7", but even I felt cramped on the reformer. It all felt doll sized. I maxed out and got the carriage all the way to the end on long stretch... lols that doesn't happen for my height on a studio reformer. There r a lot of ppl who fit a little too snug on a studio reformer, so putting them on a gratz. Even I wouldn't feel successful working out on that. The weight room and pool look cool though.

COED SAUNA ROOM 😬 Doesn't have a hip thrust barbell station despite many complaints from women, just a machine that hurts your back. Scam for $200/month if you're a serious weight-lifter - doesn't even include pilates. They're also weirdly political and shove the woke stuff in your face. Started going 7 months ago, they've added 0 useful machines. I've lost belongings and they never get put in the lost and found. There are a lot of gen z people who hog machines to sit on their phones/take pictures and then don't rerack their plates or clean. Don't go between 3-7 if you want to avoid the groups of obnoxious skinny young guys. People will also steal your machines all the time like if you go grab water or to the bathroom. But clean bathrooms

Gave it a try for a couple months. Honestly felt like the LGBTQ+ agenda was being shoved down my throat. I get it but I don’t really care about who someone is sleeping with when I’m just trying to get my workout in. The shower pressure was so low it’s not even worth taking a shower. The cold plunge water was always disgusting. Parking garage situation sucks. Emails asking them to consider even low priced small equipment ($30) were ignored. I asked them for a freeze on my account while I travel out of state for work. Nope, we can down grade your membership though and charge you for a service you’re not using. Evening times the weights area gets so crowded you can’t even get your workout in. The other levels are almost empty. Giant class spaces that are almost never being used. The only thing that I really loved was the spa and restaurant. For $200 a month I just expected better.

Disclaimer: I’m reviewing the rooftop pool and facility impression. I’m not a paid member, so I'm not docking any stars. My overall impression is 5 stars.
This is a fancy gym with a bar and rooftop pool access. I came here for a birthday party and had to pay $15 for rooftop pool access. The view was great for an event. The pool isn't very deep - 4 feet at its deepest. There's also a bar on the rooftop, and it will probably have a DJ booth if you're having parties. The parking garage wasn't too easy to find the first time, but once you figured it out, it shouldn't be a problem next time. Not all the garage elevators are working either, so if you don't see cars near the elevator, you're at the wrong spot. The facility is top-notch in terms of decorations and cleanliness. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to tour the gym itself - just the entrances. It has a good impression, for sure. However, it also gave me the impression that my wallet won't be happy if I ever choose to come here. If you live in the area, try it out. It’s a bit of a drive for me.

3 hours validated parking. Pros - ice bath . Better equipment than lifetime . More thoughts in the interior design than lifetime . Coed sauna is hot enough. Cons : hours not as extensive as lifetime. Minor cons : less class than lifetime. Toiletries not refilled

This review is soley for the penthouse pool area. I am a member of the gym and have been for several months now, but I wanted to focus my review on the pool area. The views up there are nice and I’ve enjoyed my times when I have gone up there to relax and/or take group fitness classes. I enjoy the food available at the bar. Everything I’ve tried has been amazing. I try to go on days where it is less busy, because as it gets crowded, it gets overwhelming for me personally. Other than that, this is a nice place to spend a few hours, relax, grab a bite, socialize if that’s your thing, and read a nice book.

This gym is outstanding far above I been. The staff like Art, Jasmi, Katie, are very best I ever came across. Everyone greets you and say hi to you. The front desk always have a smile on there face. The managers always talks with you. I meet a lot wonderful people here the Kitchen people always treat with respect. The cleaning does a lot for you. Making things right and clean I rate this gym 10stars Yoga trainers are the elite Carloyn MJ Chris from the yards, Patrick and Natily is fantastic. If you join you be in the best gym in Virginia

In all areas for luxury gyms VIDA is honestly the best gym in the dmv area, you get top notch service and it’s always kept clean, beautiful facility, and really nice amenities plus a rooftop pool which other luxury gyms around the area do not have. The cleaning lady Opthelia here is a gem and class act- she never rushes me out like the staff at another gym (Life Time), and never makes me feel pressured and treats people well. The level of friendliness and service is significantly different than other corporate gyms in the Reston area and it’s what makes VIDA so refreshing. You get a warmer, more laidback vibe compared to the cold and uncaring corporate vibe of other gyms like Lifetime.
A 5/5, just wish for a couple things:
1) Later hours! If this gym closed just ONE more hour later on weekdays (and weekends if possible) that would be amazing and would allow night owls like me to fit in their workouts without rushing through because I don’t finish work till late. I really hope the manager sees this and can make it happen because that would really be a game changer.
2) The floors at the squat racks are too slippery. I think it’s the wood on the platform but I find myself slipping a bit sometimes and have to wear grip socks or I can’t get the grip I need on the ground when I’m squatting with socks/no shoes etc for stability. If they could replace these or find a workaround to make it less slippery, that would be great.
Shoutout to Leah one of the bartenders here, Karen one of the managers for their friendliness and genuine care for gym goers! People here, gym goers included, seem friendly and open creating a community vibe. The gym layout is spread out and it wasn’t too crowded when we went on a weekend. They validate parking all day on weekends and for 3 hours on weekdays. I like the relaxing vibe/calming music being played in the locker rooms, it gives it a nice lounge feel. I would love to see them be mindful that the social aspects they provide don’t overcast the gym’s naturally relaxed vibe, to ensure it doesn’t get too noisy or high energy for gym goers. For me I usually just prefer a focused environment to work out while also having a peaceful space to recover and unwind. Ideally a place where we can come in and work out, maybe socialize a bit, and also maintain a relaxed, not obnoxious environment would be super ideal, with a quiet vibe in the sauna/working spaces. Just a bit worried it might take on too much of a party vibe if the social aspect gets out of hand, so I am curious how they will go about that. I do like that they emphasize getting to know members and love that there are spaces to work too.
Overall VIDA is amazing and you won’t regret coming here!

If you’re looking for a place to grow, get inspired, and unwind—this is it!
I’ve been a member at VIDA for the past 8 months and have absolutely loved it. The mix of classes, machines, and weights offers the perfect balance for me.
And if you’re a Pilates lover like I am, don’t miss Robyn’s classes! I’ve taken a lot over the years, and hers are by far my favorite. She brings such bright energy and creates a fun, welcoming environment—whether it’s on the mat or reformers.
It’s made a real difference in my routine. I’m so glad I invested and joined this community!

Definitely looking forward to taking more classes with her and might even try out the reformer class soon. Highly recommend!

As a founding member of VIDA Reston, I couldn't be happier with my decision to join this incredible fitness and wellness center! This gym is truly a gem in the heart of Reston, offering top-notch facilities and a welcoming atmosphere.
The gym is spacious, clean, and equipped with state-of-the-art machines and free weights. The staff is friendly and always ready to help.
I absolutely love the Morozko ice bath 😌 It's perfect for muscle recovery and reducing inflammation, and I always feel rejuvenated after a session. The health benefits, like improved cardiovascular health, enhanced mood, and boosted immune function, all included.
The heated yoga studio is another favorite of mine. Practicing yoga in a heated environment helps increase my flexibility, improve circulation, and detoxify my body. The instructors create such a calming and supportive environment that each session feels transformative.
The full-service bar and café offer healthy food options, wine, and VIDA signature smoothies, making it a great place to relax and refuel after a workout.
Sound bath sessions are a unique and soothing experience, available for a low fee. They help reduce stress and enhance mental clarity, making them a special addition to the wellness offerings.
I also enjoy the game nights with card games and other activities. It's a fantastic way to unwind, have fun, and connect with fellow members. The laughter and friendly competition are great for reducing stress and boosting mood.
The combination of the gym, Morozko ice bath, heated yoga studio, bar with smoothies, sound bath sessions, and game nights offers a holistic approach to fitness and wellness, supporting both physical and mental well-being 😗
Overall, VIDA Reston is more than just a gym; it's a community dedicated to health and wellness. As a founding member, I highly recommend it to anyone looking to elevate their fitness.

We joined VIDA a couple of months ago after being members of other gyms in the area and I have to say that we are really enjoying it! It’s never overcrowded as other gyms, and the machines are new and clean (but also be a decent person and clean the machine after you use it)
I appreciate the free weight squad and chest press bars. The cafe and pool are also nice perks to have. We havent used the other amenities like the cold plunge or sauna but if you are into that you should definitely give VIDA a test drive.
Everyone that we have talked to, from the front desk to their billing department have been nice and professional. Overall, amazing place so far!

Nice gym, bigger than Ballston location but thats neither here nor there. I do wish I could come here as part of my membership but I would have to pay a bit more for this gym to be included. Cant hate on profit though, profit is not a sin. I don't come out this way often enough to justify paying extra per month. The staff was super nice and gave me a 1 time pass to give it a whirl.

Ask for Katie.
My experience at the Reston location has been significantly better than my experience at the other locations mostly in part to how relaxed and helpful the staff are - particularly Katie Salata.
Ms. Salata stood out to me because of her human and genuine approach. Even as a 21-year-old who isn’t within the “primary age demographic” of VIDA Fitness, she made me feel completely understood. She took the time to address my specific needs as a gymgoer and went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcomed and supported.
Her ability to connect with people and provide a personalized experience is unparalleled.
Whenever I’ve brought up concerns, she’s handled them thoughtfully and made sure they were addressed. Finding someone willing to build this kind of relationship with their clients is rare, especially in a world where it feels like everyone is just after your wallet.
Thank you, Katie!

What an amazing place to workout, recover (ice plunge, sauna, etc), chill and socialize (e.g., game night). I have been trying all the classes, equipments, facilities and spaces and I always walk away looking forward to my next visit. Yesterday, I tried the Cycle class with David and yet again I met another amazing instructor who took the time to get me set up for the class and delivered an awesome workout. Cycle is now a recurring class in my schedule!
While I’m here, I must give a big shoutout to Evan for assembling the best team and together delivering the best in class experience to all of us members.

The best gym in this area, hands down. The price initially kept me away, but after visiting & seeing everything it has to offer, it’s worth it. The crowd is great, being 18 & up is a huge plus. You can’t beat the amount of classes offered. They even have hot yoga! A steam room, a sauna, workspaces if you want to get out the house. It’s very clean, the showers MAKE me want to take a shower at the facility. Towel service is awesome. & working out in the morning & seeing the sunrise with the floor to ceiling windows? Excellent, beautiful, amazing!
They have plenty of equipment & tons of stairmasters. I hope they don’t change anything any time soon. This place is great. I’ve told all my friends to join!

I’ve been going to the gym for about two weeks ago and tried majority of what it offer through the unlimited membership and I have to say this is one of the very few luxury gym out there that delivers without a doubt a 5 stars.
TLDR:
Equipment - 5/5
Staff - 5/5
Amenities - 5/5
Food - 3/5 (this is more a preference thing more details below)
Vibe - 5/5
Equipment:
Pretty much has everything you need and the crowd never gets too busy to the point I have to wait for someone to finish to use the machine. The equipment and dumbbells are also in very good quality.
Staff:
I couldn’t find a single bad experience when dealing with a staff member whether from the bar to fitness instructors or even the staff that handles the check in process. I give props to Caroline, she has pushed me to a limit I didn’t know I have while doing classes. Always keeps me in check once I start lacking or falling behind or just straight up doing the wrong form. I could go on and on about other staff member like Jasmine but I think this review is going to be too long.
Amenities:
The shower/locker room is my favorite part of amenity so far. It became my therapy after a very hard workout (looking at you Caroline after Sweatboxing). Always clean whenever I go but I go at times where there isn’t a lot of traffic and even with a slow traffic I always see a staff member cleaning up the place or getting the towels to wash them.
Food:
The It’s healthy lol too healthy just not my type although I only tried the bowls so far. I love the smoothies though. Now the penthouse food is a completely different topic. I love the five course meals that is offered there and the staff there makes me feel pampered.
Vibe:
Everyone seems really nice and haven’t encountered anything aggressive or ego lifting or dropping weights like crazy.
It is a relatively new gym so I hope this quality will continue over time but as of right now, I love this place. Sorry for the long review (I never done this before) but I believe this place deserves it.

Edit: Thank you for listening about cleaning more often. When going to classes or walking up the stairs, it has been so much better, so I updated my rating.
I love Vida Reston. The classes are great, the staff are great, and I love the variety of machines. They are very social and have a number of events to bring members together. The pool and Aura spa are lovely. The food and drinks at the bar are good but could be more consistent. For example, if I order a smoothie, it’s going to be different depending on who makes it. Overall though, it’s good. The biggest bonus is no kids! So why 3 stars? Cleaning could be better. The floors are constantly dirty. First thing in the morning, I should not see hair and dirt on the floor while in yoga or walking down the hall. It’s everywhere and for the price members pay, we should not see this. If they did a better job cleaning the floors (stairs included) this place would be 5 stars!

I recently joined Vida Fitness in Reston, and I couldn't be happier with my experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff Ryan, Sam, Paul and Lisandro who made me feel right at home. The facility is beautifully designed, with modern equipment and a clean, welcoming atmosphere.
The variety of classes offered is impressive! Whether you’re into yoga, high-intensity training, or even dance workouts, there’s something for everyone.
Bar Vida is also a fantastic addition to the experience. It's a great spot to grab a bite to eat or enjoy a refreshing smoothie post-workout. The atmosphere is perfect for unwinding or even getting some work done while enjoying their delicious menu options.
I appreciate the community vibe at Vida. It feels less like a gym and more like a place where you can build connections and friendships. I've met some amazing people who share the same fitness goals, which keeps me motivated.
Additionally, the amenities are top-notch. The locker rooms are spacious and well-maintained, and the available sauna and steam room are perfect for post-workout relaxation.
Overall, Vida Fitness in Reston is an outstanding gym that exceeds expectations. Whether you're a fitness enthusiast or just starting your journey, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!

I’m giving two stars relative to the price one pays for this gym. Firstly, it’s always hot and sticky inside making it uncomfortable. It also smells bad, worse than other gyms I’ve been to. So many gimmick services provided that take up so much valuable space which could have been an indoor pool or a squash court or just more equipment. The rooftop pool is comically small. The saunas are co-ed which feels like a cost cutting measure. To be inclusive they easily could have had a men’s, women’s, and a gender neutral set. The shower situation is one the worst aspects. Showers are pretty cramped, with no intermediate changing area. The curtains are so short they only come down to your mid calf. There is no hook to hang a towel, so they expect you to just walk out the shower wet and naked, or put your towel somewhere dirty nearby the shower.

VIDA Fitness Reston is an outstanding gym and different, in a good way, to any other gym I have been a member of. The staff are amazing and are always available to answer my questions, a special shout out to Katie, Caroline, Evan, JD but they really are all so helpful. Having come from Lifetime, one of my favorite parts of the gym is the fact that you have to be over 18 to workout at the gym, the rooftop pool you have to be over 21, this makes the gym and pool experience above and beyond the experience I had at Lifetime. In addition the classes are really good, with a special shoutout to the sweatbox classes and yoga classes. They offer so many services, including getting a private locker (for a fee but worth it in my opinion). I go to the gym at least 5 times a week and if I am on a rest day it's great to go to the pool and grab a drink and some food. As they continue to get further out from their grand opening I expect the gym to continue going from strength to strength as they understand there members wants and needs, as a mentioned earlier, the staff are amazing and only want the best for you so are very open to feedback across all areas. Highly recommend.

This is based on my initial experience here. Could have easily been four stars but I had a poor experience with staff here.
When I asked if there were any self propelled treadmills for my sprints(note this location does not have any!), one staff member who looked like management told me to go run outside. It was rude as it wasn’t presented as a joke but they did later apologize for not having that kind of machinery.
Maybe more sensitivity with how to respect patrons is needed.

I am a founding member, joined in April. Once the contract was signed, I never heard another word. Funny how I was called and emailed every other day until I signed and since then I have yet to receive anything from them! No welcome packet, no invite for grand opening, no personal outreach, no orientation….crickets. For a while there I wasn’t sure if I was even officially a member until last week when the payment was processed. Sadly, I’m stuck and luckily my 3 friends who I referred didn’t join. Coming from membership sales myself, this is exactly how you NOT build referrals or become successful. Be forewarned - they take your money without taking the time to value you. You’re better off saving your money and use the trails and pools around Reston to get activity. That only costs you $40/season. For strength training - push ups, sit ups, squats and planks are free and a kettle ball is around $25. Notice their replies to poor reviews - all excuses, no accountability, no resolutions. Boooooo. I hope my monthly donation helps.
