I've been going to this gym about 4-5x/week for almost a year, and the quality has gone down astronomically over time.
1. There have been multiple occasions where there was zero toilet paper in both the women's and men's locker rooms. Not a single roll available in either restroom. No employee was around to fix it.
2. The water fountain filter light was green for the first month the gym was open and when I first joined. Ever since it turned red indicating it needed to be replaced, it was never done. It has continued blinking since. Why even have a filter system if it's not going to be kept up to standard? At this point it's just a reminder to not drink the water.
3. The water fountains never look wiped down, as shown in the photos below.
4. There's a sign by the entrance of each locker room that lists who cleaned it last, but this name (also pictured below) hasn't been erased and re-named in about a month or so. The bathrooms look as though they haven't been cleaned since then, and if they have, there's no documentation showing it. The pictures below show their condition today (Monday at 11:30am).
5. I was there until a little after 1pm today and there was not a single employee in the gym the entire time. Normally I wouldn't mind IF the bathrooms had been clean and stocked and towels around the gym hadn't ran out to wipe down the equipment with. As the gym got busy around noon, with no toilet paper to be found anywhere, I can only assume people figured this out too late.
- I understand that the gym is most likely under-staffed, but if basic cleanliness standards aren't going to be upheld, the membership price should reflect the lack of upkeep and unsanitary conditions.
- Positives: The machines are good and it's never that busy unless you go around 5pm. When staff is present, they're friendly and usually greet members when they walk in.

Raised a star with some updates-waiting on more. Locks that have been there are now being removed so lockers can be used again and I did hear back about my inquiries shortly after posting this review.

While the gym is okay- I appreciate how close and affordable it is- there are issues. Often bathrooms aren't cleaned and while I was seeing staff putting weights back I am no longer seeing staff doing that. Often times staffed hours either have the door locked with someone sitting at the front desk or just no staff with no notice of any kind.
Today specifically the woman's bathroom needed toilet paper and a male staff member says he has no access to it because his manager isn't there. I also made a couple inquiries on Tuesday and was told they'd be passed on to the manager because the desk couldn't help me with it. It is now Thursday night and there has been no contact and no change on those requests. They also have signs that say that you can't leave a lock on the lockers and yet there is some that have been locked for several days to a week. They are lower lockers and I honestly cannot reach the top ones.
It's getting to the point to consider cancelling and going somewhere else.

Unlike Planet Fitness and Valley Fitness, the showers at Workout Anytime are not being cleaned even once a day. The photos I’ve attached show the same pile of bar soap that has been sitting in the showers for over a week. The second photo shows a broken soap dispenser, which has been in this condition for months. This is something that should realistically be repaired within 3 days to a week—if not the same day. Instead, desk tape has been used multiple times as a temporary “fix.”

I understand that gym members have a responsibility to take care of these shared spaces, but not all do. That is why staff—or a designated cleaner—should maintain them. Items left in the bathroom for more than 24–48 hours should be thrown away or, if valuable, placed in lost and found.

Currently, the locker rooms here do not meet a basic standard of care or excellence. At minimum, the showers should be cleaned and floors picked up once a day.

I love coming here! The gym is convenient, affordable, and perfect whether I just want a quick workout or a couple of hours to decompress. The manager, Juan, is fantastic—always welcoming and committed to keeping the space clean and safe for everyone. The owner, a JMU grad, is also a great guy who clearly cares about the community. I could go elsewhere, but I’m glad I choose this gym for my workouts.

If you live in Harrisonburg, this 24/7 gym has all the essentials to get in a good pump. The staff are always helpful. The A/C was down/ not working well for a while. They added two more fans after I left a review of 2 stars because of how miserable the temperature was inside. They also posted an update to the community on the outside of the gym and at the front desk letting us know what is wrong and claiming to keep us updated on how the issue will hopefully be resolved in the months to come. I came back from vacation, and it felt pretty cool inside with the added fans that I had better sustained energy to get through my workout. Join workout anytime today!

Very clean gym with some dope leg machines. All of the equipment feels nice and smooth. Very open area to workout. The staff that was there for the week I was in town were very personable and helpful. I travel a lot and I’m in a lot of gyms, this particular place was a treat.

Been a member at this gym since it opening last year. Gotta say it’s one of the most underrated gyms in Harrisonburg. Great vibe, great equipment, very nice and welcoming staff and very clean! The new management definitely doing work to make the gym as best it can be.

All reviews are a lie.. the only good thing this place has is that is not as full as other gyms around the area. All the “personal trainers” leave in the middle of having a client under their plan.. they suck in informing you on time about changes with their staff.. even though you didn’t ask for a contract they push for one and you don't even know.. they charge you a-lot for nothing.. most of the time there is nobody for you to get hour questions answered and they suck at alot of other things. They lucky to get 1 star is really not worth the money or the time.

very scammy gym. i got charged an annual fee twice. requested the $25 membership and ended up being charged for the premium $40 membership. when i tried to call to cancel i was told to call back another day and since then ive tried calling back and have gotten no answer. this gym has charged me over $200 all together over the past 2 months

Hardly ever staffed. When you call, messages are hardly ever returned. I’m moving and have been trying to cancel my membership for months but they won’t pick up the phone or call back. 9 times out of 10 I’m calling just to see if there’s a staff member so I can stop by. I’ve been charged for months with unanswered voicemails. I guarantee I’ll get a call back now that I’ve reviewed, but that’s a very shameful process.

I like this gym but if they promote cleanliness they must do it such as Sanitizing Water Fountains and Hydration Stations also the Sauna. I think there should be a cleaning person and keep the gym organized and clean. They promote that each equipment be cleaned after using them and the trainers do not do it.

They're just starting out, so I haven't had to wait for any equipment. Good price for membership (either level). Also, all the equipment is new.
I think they're working on getting an instructor so they can also add classes. Their sauna (like many in the area) is not built-in but rather infrared.
