YAMAMA & Lil Yogis Yoga Studio is a family-centered space located in the heart of Roanoke, Virginia, inside the Towers Plaza at 2117 Colonial Ave SW, ste 123. Founded by Keshia Bahadur, a Navy veteran, flight attendant and certified yoga instructor, YAMAMA was born from a deeply personal journey of healing, bonding, and rediscovery. After sustaining a back injury on the job, Keshia turned to movement- barre, stretching, and yoga- as part of her recovery. Her young son, fascinated by her at- home routines, began joining her, turning healing into playful connection. This sparked the vision for YAMAMA: a space where caregivers and children could move, breathe, and grow together.

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience at the Mommy & Me yoga class! The atmosphere was so calming and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The instructor was incredibly gentle, patient, and attentive to both my baby and me. I loved how the class flowed in a way that let us bond with our little one while also getting a chance to stretch, breathe, and relax.
My baby had the best time, and I could tell she felt safe and entertained throughout the whole session. It was such a beautiful way to connect and unwind. I’m truly grateful for this class and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a peaceful and positive experience with their little one!

My little and I had such a great time. The instructor knew how to make this intuitive for the body without losing the little’s attention. It was the perfect blend of calm and excitement. I enjoyed the storytelling format. We can't wait to come back, wishing YAMAMA much success

Keshia’s studio is warm, welcoming and wonderful. My daughter enjoyed the space and I loved being able to do yoga with my daughter and had it challenge me but not too much. You can tell Keshia is a fabulous story teller as she guides you and your child on an interactive journey that keeps your child engaged and moving! Come take some time to build new ways to bond with your child(ren) it’s worth the investment.

I brought my 6 year old son to her Halloween class and we had such a nice time together. It was so sweet to connect with him and get some solo time with him, in such a lovely environment. My son said he loved it and had a lot of fun.

I took a half day from work so I could go to the mommy and baby yoga, ages six months one year. This studio is adorable and kid friendly. When we first started the little practice, my six month old was smiling and engaged, later on he wanted to breast-feed and fell asleep in my lap during the kid friendly, fall-themed guided meditation. So relaxing. We will definitely be back!

My toddler and I had a wonderful time! He always takes a bit to warm up to a new space and new people, but Keshia was so kind, patient, and reassuring. The guided imagery that went along with the poses was so cute and seasonally appropriate. This was a great bonding experience for my little one and me, and he was giggling by the end of class. We can't wait to come back!

What a fun morning for me and my girl (15 months old). While she didn’t do a whole lot of yoga, she loved the blocks and scarves and Keisha has created a beautiful safe and welcoming space for children to be themselves and move their bodies and learn to tune into their inner strength and courage. Definitely recommend!

This isn’t just a yoga studio, it’s a sanctuary for caregivers and kids to breathe, move, play, and just be together. Keshia brings so much warmth, joy, and vibrant energy into every class. You can feel it the moment you walk through the door. She has this amazing ability to make everyone, big and small, feel completely welcome and at ease. Her classes are the perfect mix of calming and silly, grounding and energizing. The kids light up around her. If you're a parent, grandparent, or caregiver looking for a space that truly supports you and your little one, YAMAMA is it. Keshia has poured her heart into this place, and it shows in every detail.

A Perfect Fit for Families!
I had such a fantastic time at the opening of this yoga studio with my 3-year-old! Honestly, I was a bit worried she wouldn't participate or would want to leave, given how restless toddlers can be. But I was so wrong! She was completely engaged the entire time and has been asking to go back every single day since.
This studio is truly family-friendly, offering fantastic choreography and a great storyline that really keeps the kids captivated. We will definitely be going back!

Yamama is the perfect place for parents to connect with their young ones in a way that is nourishing for both! So often activities are geared towards one parent too, and this place allows for either parent to bring in the kids! What a great idea. The vibe is perfect and the owner is so nice! It's exactly what Roanoke needed; a place to find community!

🌟 Five-Star Launch Experience! 🌟
I had the pleasure of attending the grand launch of [Yamama /Keshia’s] new yoga studio, and it was phenomenal from start to finish. YAMAMA & Lil’ Yogis is the cutest and most welcoming space for parents/caretakers and their little ones to practice together. As a long time yogi, I can recognize the need for a studio that is geared towards children. It’s hard to find time for a consistent practice when most studios are for adults only, and there are so many benefits when children and their adults practice together. It promotes deep bonding, but it also really helps children be more aware of their bodies. Plus, they love it. YAMAMA will definitely fill a gap in the yoga community that has gone unaddressed for far too long. Founder and teacher Keshia has put so much love and care into creating this space that is truly unique and meaningful.

From the moment I stepped into YaMama Yoga Studio, I knew it was something special. It’s not just a place to practice yoga—it’s a space filled with intention, love, and healing energy. A space created for parents and children to truly connect.
As an executive mom with a busy life, I’m always looking for ways to be present with my child—not just physically, but emotionally. YaMama has given us that gift. Through movement, breathwork, and play, we’ve discovered a deeper bond that I didn’t even realize we were missing. I’ve watched my son become more centered, more expressive, and more confident. And honestly? I’ve experienced the same growth in myself.
The environment is warm, welcoming, and culturally rich. It’s one of the few places I’ve found that honors parenthood as both powerful and sacred. Every session feels like a reset—not just for the body, but for the spirit.
If you’re a parent in the Roanoke area looking to slow down, reconnect, and grow with your child, YaMama Yoga is exactly where you need to be. It’s more than a class. It’s a community. It’s therapy. It’s joy.👏🏾👏🏾🎉🎉🥰😎😊
