Yoga in Del Ray is such a wonderful place to practice. It is truly a studio for everybody and all bodies. The small class size combined with the wide variety of classes is frankly amazing, but the studio offers so much more than just a physical yoga practice. Workshops are creative and varied - I never miss the crystal workshops, but I’ve also attended traditional herbal medicine and cranial sacral therapy recently. The studio owner is also a talented sound artist and her sound baths (and those given by guest sound healers) are so special. The energy and community in this jewel of a studio make it a standout in Del Ray!

This is a wonderful studio and community! I always feel welcome when I arrive for class, my body honored throughout the practice no matter the teacher, and refreshed and reinvigorated when I leave. Liat has built an incredible community and I’m grateful to be a member of it.

Yoga in Del Ray is so much more than a yoga studio ... It provides a real community for members and casual attendees alike. The classes nourish your body but also your mind, with events like sound baths, breath workshops, full moon circles, and more. The Big Booty Yoga class is the best way to start my week ... Love Liat's energy!

Yoga in Del Ray is truly a gem in the community, and a huge part of that is thanks to Liat. From the moment you walk through the door, she creates an atmosphere that feels inclusive, safe, and genuinely welcoming to everyone—regardless of where they are in their yoga journey.
Liat has an incredible ability to meet you where you are while still encouraging growth and transformation. Her classes are thoughtfully designed to challenge you physically and mentally, all while maintaining a sense of support and mindfulness. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced yogi, Liat offers something valuable for everyone.
What makes Yoga in Del Ray stand out is the variety of offerings—not just yoga classes, but workshops, community events, and opportunities for personal growth. It’s clear that Liat is deeply committed to helping people thrive both on and off the mat.
This isn’t just a place to take a yoga class—it’s a space to connect, grow, and feel at home. I’m so grateful to be a part of this community.

I really appreciate how accommodating the Yoga in Del Ray instructors are, creating ways that everyone from twice-a-month attendees to daily yoga devotees can feel like they made the most of a class. I've discovered a Monday night class helps me decompress both physically and mentally after a usually manic workday, which is great for someone who usually starts my Mondays with a lingering case of the Sunday Scaries.

I have attended 2 different classes. Each time my age (81) and physical limitations (torn up shoulder and very tight joints) were gently catered to making me feel wlecome. I loved the vibe and will return!

As a yoga teacher I’m often asked for recommendations on where to practice locally, and I always say Yoga in Del Ray! The vibe is warm and welcoming to all, and classes are designed to accommodate all levels of fitness and experience. Beginners and advanced practitioners are sure to find a satisfying class at YIDR. It’s a true gem!

Yoga in Del Ray is such a welcoming studio. The classes range from the yin and lower impact, great for stress relief, to the more active classes that get your heart pumping. The experienced and thoughtful teachers give lots of options in the poses making the classes great for entry level or experienced students. The special workshops like acupuncture and sound healing are amazing.

A friend who is a yoga teacher recommended Yoga Del Ray to me as I was searching for a place to take prenatal yoga, and I am so grateful that she did. I took classes with Liat throughout my pregnancy and continued after the birth. She is an incredibly special person and it shows in her teaching. She is judgement-free and empathic, and really cares about you and your mental and physical health. She is also extremely knowledgeable about yoga and the body. It is wonderful to have someone I 100% trust instructing me, especially when I am just getting to know my body again. I honestly cannot recommend Liat and Yoga Del Ray more!

I feel like I’ve found my yoga community at Yoga in Del Ray! I just finished my two week new member trial and recently purchased my first 5-class pack. I found the studio after doing some Googling in my area and attending a Women’s Wisdom Circle event on a whim (discussion group with meditation and yoga led by a teacher at the studio).
I was looking for a place to get back into my yoga practice a few times a week and missed my studio in DC where I’d grab coffee with other students, who later became great friends. I immediately felt welcomed at YDL, and so valued Liat’s thoughtfulness — she remembered everyone’s name and shared laughs and announcements about the area in each class, including ways to give back to the community <3. The studio offers the perfect combination of more challenging flow, relaxing gentle, and restorative yoga. It’s a small space square footage wise, but has everything you need, is inviting and peaceful, and makes up for any lack of space withheart.
10/10 would recommend — especially for people looking to meet others in their community, give back and have great vibes in every class!

This intimate studio nestled in the heart of charming Del Ray nurtures body and soul with classes and instructors that encourage everyone from beginners to advanced students to develop a practice that will enrich their lives. I can't say enough wonderful things about Liat, or Beth, Tara and the other instructors. Spend an hour here and you will certainly want to come back again and again.

Love the atmosphere - friendly, open, very welcoming. People introduce themselves & the instructors remember your name! Excellent variety of classes for all levels with “doing you” more important than the perfect position. Special workshops & a new mat Pilates class are icing on the cake. ❤️❤️❤️

I went to the sound bath at Yoga in Del Ray with my wife and my daughter. I couldn't believe how relaxing the sounds were. I've done meditation for many years, but this is the first time I've meditated like this, and I loved it. The variety of sounds just turned off my brain and put me in such a relaxed state of peace and calm. I left feeling at ease, and wanting to come back. I highly recommend it to anyone as we all need a renewed sense of peacefulness.

Awesome instructors and a huge range of classes! I was a little apprehensive at first, but this place is super newbie friendly--very welcoming with plenty of instruction from Liat on the tougher moves! Lots of different skill levels here and YDR does a great job of balancing my progress with my experience level (really lack thereof).
Flow and Yin classes are the best I've seen and tend to be packed.
My wife is here all the time...loves the big-booty classes--she's also done some workshops with tarot, acupuncture, and a sound bath??!? We love the joyful vibe of this place!
Truly the best yoga studio in Alexandria!

The studio provides a great warm and welcoming experience. Liat was a great instructor and meets students at their own experience level to optimize every individuals’ experience. I especially love the how this studio embraces full figured students which is the first studio I’ve seen that explicitly does. Definitely felt comfortable as an entry level, full figured student. Highly recommend.

Vibes: immaculate. Community: welcoming. I've been to a number of different yoga studios in my life, in different cities/states. This is the first one where I immediately felt such a strong sense of unconditional acceptance, wholehearted support, and attunement to my needs and the needs of other members. I may live nearly 30 minutes away, but there's no doubt in my mind that this is the studio for me.

As a recovering college athlete and someone who has tried to “get into yoga” many times in the past, Yoga in Del Ray is the first studio where I’ve truly felt I belong. Liat has done an amazing job cultivating a safe and welcoming space for folks at all levels of their yoga journey. Classes with Liat have helped me reconnect with my body and listen to my inner teacher after spending so long feeling completely detached from it. I credit Yoga in Del Ray for helping me begin to repair my complicated relationship with movement. I highly recommend giving one of the studio’s many weekly classes a try!

We went to a sound healing session at Yoga in Del Ray and loved it. This was an hour long session, and it was my first time attending anything like this. We laid on the floor in relaxed positions on yoga mats (with blankets and pillows) and got to hear a variety of beautiful sounding instruments. I left feeling calm, relaxed, clear-headed and feeling overall content and peaceful. Thank you Yoga in Del Ray, I'll be returning for more!
