Rude front desk staff. When I mentioned the app listed the hot yoga class at 5:30 PM (it actually started at 5:00), Brahim was dismissive and condescending, saying “I’m not an app developer.” When I called him out, he even admitted he was being a jerk. What makes it worse is that all the instructors have been telling us to use the new app for schedules. Totally unacceptable experience for a gym that claims to be premium.

This is more of a review of the new ownership by Bay Club. But first, I’ll say this about 425 Fitness Issaquah. This is a 5/5 gym. Great equipment. Large. Clean. Nice staff. Nice members. Great pool. Regular improvements. I don’t think it’s too busy to be a problem. Trainers also seem good (I really enjoyed my few sessions with Cary).

In short, I don’t know of any commercial gym in the area that I’d recommend over this one (I’ve been to three others).

I am forever loyal to companies that have great customer service, and I recently ran into a little situation that tested the customer service of Bay Club. I’ll make this short as I can: my membership was set to be canceled, and on the last day, I tried to stop it when my circumstances changed unexpectedly. I have been a member for 2 years and 2 months straight, but I was too late. According to their system, I was no longer a member. After chatting with staff, management, and Bay Club, it didn’t seem that they could help me. The local staff was very friendly, but beyond them, I didn’t get the impression Bay Club even cared. I was so disappointed and this soured my love for this club.

I like this gym enough that I was willing to pay the $100 setup fee and $20 more per month, so I joined…again. I reached out to Bay Club to plead my case for waiving this, given that I never truly stopped being a member. I was patient and after a few back-and-forth emails, they ultimately did the right thing for me. Phew! Thank you, 425 Fitness and Bay Club.

Your clubs are great. My hope is that you will always give the same care to your staff and members that you give your clubs.

Since being bought out by the pro club this gym is so busy it's mind boggling. Every machine, every treadmill is full at all hours. The times that used to be quiet are now packed. The busy times are now so busy there isn't even any parking. It's pointless to even go. I'm cancelling my membership.

Been coming here over a decade

Prices keep going up but it's now always really dirty. They use wayyy too much air freshener to cover the mildew smell of the locker room. To the point my eyes and nose burn. The shower floors are visibly covered in a film and it's slippery. Steam room is out of service more often then not. Been about 2 weeks not working now and no info on if or when it will be fixed.
The gym used to be immaculately cleaned. I have talked to the front office many times. I even emailed and was told they were working on this issue but they can't monitor the women's locker room cleanliness?!? What??? Anywho. I would save yourself atleast $50/ month and go to planet fitness. I'm about out. Been saying that a while but it's gotten to the point that I'm disappointed evertime I walk in

I actually can't even give it a one star it was the most horrific thing I've ever been in my life it was disgusting it was filthy there was hair all over the entire gym the machines were dirty and I don't know where they came up with the pictures for that pool and stuff because it was horrific the pool was open but there's no heat the hot tub wasn't up to temperature there was disgusting dirt and grime all over the tiles the downstairs bathroom had hair on the floor they only had one employee working I don't know how anybody in their right mind would want to go there and go swimming or use that gym I was horrified and I went as a guest to see if I wanted to join I felt like I was in a Santa can and I had to go home and scrub myself for 3 hours afterwards and unfortunately I did not take any pictures because I did not want to offend my friend that brought me as a guest but I really wish I would have but it definitely does not look like anything they're showing

This is a great gym - clean, spacious, with all the equipment you need. In addition to cardio, free weights and machines, there's a great pool for lap swimming. Reasonably priced for the amenities. The staff are friendly and helpful. A special shout out to the personal training staff. I worked with Cary Purchase for about a year and have been working with Erik Gonzalez for the past year. They are both knowledgeable, experienced and personable - they've helped me transform my fitness and meet my personal goals with personally catered programs. Cary now manages the entire personal training staff and has done a great job. 425 is a second home to me - a great community. I highly recommend getting a membership!

We really enjoyed our time here, no complaints. There is so much equipment you rarely have to wait to use something, always an open bench. Kept very clean at all times. Sam was great to show us around and help us get set up with our membership. Would recommend working with their personal trainers if that’s something you’re looking for, Zander is awesome!

Update 8/25/25: 425 Fitness offers cardio equipment that allows members to log in, save workouts, and track their progress. Unfortunately, this functionality only works intermittently, which is frustrating. More recently, the member Wi-Fi has also become unreliable, functioning only sporadically. I’ve asked staff about these ongoing issues, but their responses have given me the impression that they are indifferent to the concerns.
UPDATE - 425 Fitness did upgrade their Wi-Fi and the problem seems to have been resolved.

As someone who’s worked in the fitness industry for years and currently works at a gym, I tend to have a more informed perspective on what makes for a good member experience—and unfortunately, this visit missed the mark.

Upon walking in, I was told a membership expert would be with me in 5–10 minutes. Fair enough. But after waiting over 15 minutes while multiple staff members walked by or stood around up front, no one offered to help or even check in. It gave the impression that I wasn’t a priority—or worse, an afterthought. Eventually, a front desk employee did offer to take me on a tour (which could’ve happened much sooner).

The tour itself was solid and showed me everything I was looking for.

However, when I asked if there was a free trial to test out the gym, I was told no, and that the only option was a $25 pass. I expressed genuine interest and made it clear I wasn’t there to waste time—but still, no flexibility.

Here’s where it got confusing: later that day, I saw a free trial pass promoted on social media—for the 425 Fitness Issaquah location. Curious, I called the Redmond location the next day and was told yes, I could try the gym after a tour. So why such inconsistency between locations? Isn’t this all one company?

A visit that started off as merely underwhelming turned into a frustrating and questionable experience. Consistency in customer service and clear communication are key in the fitness industry—and right now, this place is falling short.

That said, the facility itself looked great, and if the customer service side improves and some of this can be clarified, I’d still consider joining. But as it stands now, 2 stars feels fair.

I can't recommend Nathan M. enough! From day one, he took the time to understand my goals, fitness level, and any limitations I had. Every session was well-planned, challenging, and actually fun.

$130 a month…. What a joke. Absolutely no justification for having an old sauna. Do not include personal training. It is in no way 110 dollars better than planet fitness or even 24hr. No reasonable justification for the price. Imagine how obese the country would be if every exercise club had this kind of pricing. It’s an insult.

A great gym with great variety in machine and free weights. There's plenty of room, machines are spaced apart properly and there's a bunch of amenities such as towel service, massage chairs, etc. The pool is clean, classes are fun and have plenty of room.

So why the 4 star review? For one, the parking situation is lousy. Gym-goers frequently ignore the direction arrows and the parking lot itself is poorly lit at night. Parking is also really tight, which is annoying since a lot of us drive SUVs or medium sized cars.

Next, I have been a member for 8 months now and the gym-going experience (while still great) has been getting worse. Equipment often reek of body odor and weights are still on many machines, and if they are racked, they are poorly racked and mixed (who puts 45s with 25s, seriously?). I greatly appreciate the gym for having a "no filming" policy but would like it enforced more often since I have spotted three instances of people filming here. There was also a couple sitting together on a weight bench doing something inappropriate that would be best left for their own home instead of public.

This is a wonderful gym! It is a clean and friendly environment. The sauna and massage chairs are enjoyable. I also appreciate the inbody scanners, which can measure progress beyond just weight. I have had Eduardo as a personal trainer since the fall, and he has been terrific. He is very patient and knowledgeable, and I have gotten much stronger since working with him. I highly recommend him as a trainer. I went in with not much knowledge about form and different weight training exercises, and I think that I would have likely injured myself and not made nearly as much progress as I did with his help.

Everything is fine until you request to cancel your membership. They instruct you to use the online portal, but it always returns an internal server error. Their policy requiring a 30-day advance cancellation notice seems arbitrary. If you speak to the front desk, they will direct you to their boss, but ironically, the boss is always either at lunch or in a meeting.

As a result, you cannot cancel your membership smoothly, and they use this as an excuse to keep charging you. Since you’re unable to initiate the 30-day cancellation period due to their system errors and unresponsive management, the countdown never actually begins.

This is an amazing gym with some great instructors and personal trainers. I worked with Cary, one of the master trainers and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. He is intuitive and very knowledgeable. I have had absolutely great results and he is one of the most generous spirited guys in sharing what he knows and really drilling down the basics before advancing. I know work with Zander as Cary got promoted. Already I have had promising results with Zander and he is very patient and excels on form. He is super attentive. I have been wanting to write this review for a while and am glad to do so finally!

I have been a member of 425 Fitness in Issaquah for over ten years (starting from when it was part of the Gold’s gym franchise). I could not be happier with my experience.
The facilities are top-notch, always clean, and well-maintained, with clean towels and courteous staff. They have expanded their gym square footage significantly since 2020, adding new and innovative machines.
The personal trainers are knowledgeable and motivating, making every workout session effective.
A big shout out to Cary Purchase and Sanchari Pal who have been very accommodating with my schedule. Thank you both!

They have one of the longest cancellation periods and pause periods ever for a gym membership. 14 days for pausing in advance, 30 days for cancellations. Honestly, you aren't lifetime fitness.

Even if you get charged and forgot amidst things and message the manager 2 days after a $65 charge has gone through, they have no grace. I've also message 13 days in to pause a
membership renewal and still no grace, you get charged.

I'd highly recommend going elsewhere and is a major reason I'm going back to LA fitness. At least there you can provide a normal 2-3 business days notice. In fact, most gyms are a tops 5 business days notice cause surprise, doesn't take but a push of a button to pause things. Greedy,
predatory and money grabbers.

It's an okay gym, terrible policy on freezing memberships and cancelling. They sent me a generic email today "we hope we can make your experience great! Our policy blah blah blah". Just like all the other gyms in the area; good luck going at peak hours and doing what you actually want to do.

My wife got pregnant and I froze her account only to find you have to unfreeze every other month? That's an awful policy used to take advantage of people.

I love this gym. It's spacious, has great equipment that they constantly update and refresh. It has clients of all ages and shapes, from completely out of shape people to some serious muscle guys to get inspired by.

I've been training with one of their great personal trainers (Erick) for already 1.5 years. He got me to bench 3 plates and see my lats from the front in the mirror first time in my life, he's always motivated and motivating, works around my old injuries in a way that keeps me making progress year round, and he (and the other trainers) seems happy working there. In other I've been to, trainers come and go, but here they stay for years, which is a great sign.

Came here for over a decade. It’s gone downhill. Locker rooms are dirty, no more towel service and often over crowded. Today the app for checkin insisted on a photo but repeatedly rejected my photos as not being me. 425 is a great gym and I've been there 16 years. The last 6 weeks to month (September - Oct) the cleanliness has vastly improved and they are making a huge effort in this area. My main issue, and issue of friends is the decision this past year to turn up the music so loud in the main gym that you cannot talk to a friend on a side by side machine, or hear your own headphones without an ear blasting level. (Makes no sense, since nearly everyone has earbuds in) It used to be background music, which was fine. We've asked over and over to turn it down a notch, but to no avail. The giant speakers in the ceiling blast down so loud! When asked to turn it down a little, everyone blames everyone else! So uncomfortable to work out lately we are having second thoughts. Other review mention the too loud music too. Hey 425 are you listening??

My wife and I had membership here for two years until we moved. We were instructed to cancel our membership online using the myiclub website and we did just that (that was over 5 months ago). To this very day, they have ignored my emails, deliberately avoided my calls and keep referring me to other management to seek help. I have documented at least 4 phone calls and several emails. No one is interested in being the one responsible for cancelling my membership. I would recommend seeking another gym that isn't as predatory as this one. It's sad because the facilities are really nice but the management is wholly dysfunctional.

I'm also getting personal training from Scott & I honestly want to gatekeep him, but he deserves the 5-star review! He has so much experience and knowledge & always goes above and beyond to create a detailed plan that works for you so you can reach all your goals. I had to cancel my membership pre-Covid because I moved. I just returned in July 2024 and I am deeply impressed not only by the gym layout and equipment upgrades but mostly by the customer service.

I was connected with Morris at 425 Fitness on Gilman, Issaquah and felt welcomed without any pressure to join. This is unusual in my experience with gyms as I have had memberships at many if not all in the area including Crunch, LA, 24hr, and planet. Although the rates at 425 are a little higher than the others, I pay for customer satisfaction and that’s what I got from Morris. Thank you for your patience with my questions and friendliness during the whole process. If anyone is trying to decide which gym, I advise to be intentional about your health and go with 425–it is clean and professional.

I joined 425 Fitness Issaquah after retiring and relocating to Issaquah in the summer of ‘22. Was disappointed to learn they dropped their affiliation with the Silver Sneakers program a year later, but by then I was totally sold on the place so I joined as a paying member. I use the gym for cardio and weight training and swim laps on alternate days. The equipment is all in great shape, the pool is seldom crowded and the place is spotless. Very friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend Master Trainer Josiah McGrath, who I’ve worked with for six months to add strength training to my routine. He’s made a huge difference in my fitness level. This might not be the cheapest fitness center around, but I can’t imagine a better one.

I've been using this gym for 2 months and I think it's great. I've actually gone to the gym more days in a month than I previously did using other gyms.

It's clean, never crowded and has a great assortment of gym equipment. Equipment never has a service sign on it.

I love the dry and wet saunas.

Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Down side is the small parking lot during high peak gym times. Also, its more expensive than LA Fitness, 24hr Fitness and Planet Fitness but it's worth it. Those gyms are over crowded disgustingly dirty and broken down old equipment.

Why I put 4 stars. This gym has been upgrading and improving their space and equipment. It’s becoming a fun gym to attend. However, my only gripe with this place is the music is ridiculously loud. I have noise canceling earphones and the gym music is so loud that that even with my music turned up, the gym music floods mine. It’s that kind of loud that it begins to get overwhelming that you wish you can lower it. I don’t think the gym music should be as loud as it is. I don’t know if I’m walking into a night club or a fitness gym.

This gym has really gone downhill. When we signed up they boasted about being 24 hours. Then they cut it way down, closing early on weekdays and even earlier on weekends. Yet no discount, membership the same price. Then the big Gold’s Gym Challenge - but no before and after pictures? No prize money?? Wow. Now, the only remaining good thing about this gym, the Cardio gym, they want to get rid of. This on top of high turnover in staff, sexist decisions, mountains of dirty towels...screams of poor management and stingy budget. We have written to management prior years and received no response, they don’t seem to care about their members at all. After five years of being loyal members, we’ve had enough. Do yourself a favor and go to 24 hour fitness instead.

I'm extremely disappointed with 425 Fitness in Issaquah. They misleadingly promoted the use of their InBody scanner as part of the membership, but in reality, you can only access it if you hire a personal trainer. This deceptive practice has unfortunately tarnished my overall experience with them.

I’ve been a member here since December of last year. This is a trustworthy review.

Is the gym perfect? Not all the time, but is close to being perfect. The pool was closed for over a month for maintenance - waiting for parts to arrive from Italy, something out of their control. Most recently the heater in the pool wasn’t working. However, the management ensures that the things that are broken, get fixed and not stay broken. Things break - that’s just a fact of life. What they do next and the resolution time is what counts. What could help is letting members know upfront at the desk that something’s broken, rather than walking in, getting ready, taking a shower, getting one foot into the pool only to know that it is ice cold water. That was not a pleasant experience.

I would rate the pool a 9/10, the Jacuzzi 10/10, the steam room 10/10, the sauna 10/10, the showers and dressing rooms 10/10. The gym equipment 20/10 (yes a 20 on 10 because it is that good!).

The staff at 425 Fitness Issaquah have skills you cannot teach a person. Coming here after a long days work feels like coming home, where you are warmly welcomed with smiles and where people know your name. It’s not important that they know my name, but it goes a long way in making me feel welcomed at the gym.

The staff are kind, polite, helpful and welcoming. The facilities they’ve got at this gym is unparalleled. I’ve met folks who have multiple gym memberships, who’ve been coming here for many many years. They choose to drive over 1 hour to 425 Fitness Issaquah, just because they like the gym that much! The staff would receive a 100/10 (Not a typo - a hundred on ten).

A special note of appreciation to Robby. He is all the good things about this review and much much more! He sets the customer service bar HIGH, and raises it for all he works with. He’s got a super bright future ahead of him!

I am absolutely grateful to be a member of 425 Issaquah. If you’re on the fence about joining here, come in, ask for a trial. You will not regret it.

Michael Downs, manager at 425 Fitness Issaquah, used physical and verbal intimidation to reply to a question I had at the gym. 425 Fitness did not have a way for me to resolve this matter privately. So I want my neighbors to know about this incident and the fact that my concerns were ignored by the company. I recommend taking your business somewhere that is safer for women to exercise.

Not often you find a place where the owners put money back into the business, but that's what you get here. Place is constantly being renovated with new machines added. The gym itself is well maintained and clean, I've tried other gyms in the area but this place is unbeatable for the price.

I joined through a partner plan with my employer, so it is worth checking to see if your company has something similar.

Edit to my review: beware the cancellation policy at the gym is misleading. They advertise as “cancel anytime”, but their policy forces you to pay for 2 months membership fees when you cancel. The policy requires 30 day notice, but if 30 days from the day you cancel, brings you into a new month, you’ll be required to pay for it. I cancelled on Jan 29 but Feb has only 28 days, so now I have to pay for Feb & March.

I’ve never had to request anything from the front desk before, but the non-stop metal/rock music they were playing tonight was so loud & distracting. I asked if they could change the music back to their usual or at least just turn it down a little. The guy up front just kinda laughed and said they were gonna close soon anyways.

The staff is usually super friendly, so not sure what was up tonight or why the music was insane. There’s also other reviews here about the loud music, so definitely don’t come here without your headphones. I regret forgetting mine today and their dude made me feel weird about saying anything in-person.

Not being able to just walk in, scan my badge, and work out is a terrible experience. After 2 months of repeated requests for them to update my account, still nothing done. Love the gym but the staff don't care much about the members.

Not only is this place extremely overpriced, they are scam artists. I signed up for a one year membership on a tiny little handheld device in-person. Didn't get any papers to read or have for my records. They hide in the fine print that your membership will "auto-renew" after the contract expires. Extremely deceptive. I've been being charged for a few years of membership and just realized. They also make it not only extremely difficult to cancel membership but also charge you to cancel! What a racket! Check out their Better Business Bureau ratings: it's one star with dozens of complaints about this same issue. Now Eric the manager is dodging and not returning my calls. Despicable. BEWARE!!!

I have been going to this gym for several years. Staff has been tremendously helpful, kind and knowledgeable. The facility is clean and well kept. The salt water pool is why I chose this gym over others. The water is better on your hair and skin as apposed to a chlorinated pool. Pool users have great etiquette and are good people who will usually offer to let you share their lane if they see you are waiting to swim laps. This gym seems to be used by friendly everyday people who just want to keep or get healthy. No gym ponies who are just there to be seen. I see people who have made friends at the gym and enjoy encouraging each other and having a chat around the machines. All in all best gym and vibe I have ever had at a facility.

Great equipment and wonderful/clean facilities but after going here for years (since gold gym days) my view of the gym has been progressively going down.

The 2 biggest things that burn me are the following:

1. The high-school staff in the front are typically talking to each other, sitting on the counter or simply just checked out. It is rare that I receive a greeting upon entering or leaving the gym. When I do, it is typically a soft/quiet and forced hello or hi. Not the end of the world but this has been an ongoing issue.

2. Masks masks masks. No enforcement of the mask policy. As someone who has lost 2 family members to COVID it makes me upset to see such a disregard for one another at the gym. They claim that they check for Vax proof but for me all that was was a simple "are you vaxed?" "Yes I am" "ok thanks" . No one even asked to see any proof?!

Another defense I hear is "we are not staffed to check members all day on the masks". This too is a load. I am watching staff members talk to gym members with no mask daily (5 days a week since I don't go EVERY day) They also wave or walk right past people who have no mask. Very upsetting.

As I said. Equipment wise. The gym is great but the rest needs improvement. All what it takes in my opinion is someone who is a bit tougher in management to have the guts to check the staff for acting a bit more professional and to ask the staff to have the courage to ask people to wear a mask.

Member since they opened. Very clean and well equipped BUT virtually no front desk security. Frankly they are oblivious! Several lockers broken into just this week..its happened before. Locks were snapped, twisted or.cut . My phone, credit cards, and cash stolen...again. If I remain a member, will keep.valuables locked in car, you should too.

Perhaps not in your lockers either.

Perhaps you should have more people available at the front desk? (1 clearly isn't adequate as they have other duties to attend to ..like signing up new members!) Since this happened before, you clearly need a better system.

This is a good quality Gym. Nice facilities, nice staff, great place to work out. My only gripe is they've gotten pretty lax with their mask policy. Every day ~50% of the patrons seem to either be maskless or not wearing one properly. My membership is month-to-month through my employer and if the problem gets worse I'll probably switch to another gym & cancel my membership here.

Their billing practices leave something to be desired. After multiple attempts to leave, they are still billing my credit card for my wife's cancelled membership. Good luck. UPDATE: It's been a considerable amount of time since I made all reasonable attempts to get my money back, and it's still gone.
I would probably make sure billing is not on "autopay" and that you have control of how it bills. Not only did I not get membership fees back, I had to cancel my Costco Citi card and I lost all the accumulated Costco Cash rewards.

The staff here is usually friendly but not tonight. The gym closes at 6 PM, we walked in at 5:15. After stacking wood for 6 hours and driving 3 hours, we wanted to get a quick workout and sauna in before close. Instead of your usual “hi” or a smile we get greeted with a snappy “You are aware we close in 45 minutes right?” Didn’t appreciate the rude greeting at all. Yes, we are aware you close in 45 minutes but don’t you think a workout can be done in that time? Maybe don’t work the closing shift snappy pants.

I love this gym, it has all you need to achieve your fitness goals. All the equipment is well maintained, there are several group classes and my kids love the kids club (they even have their own little basketball court inside). There is a salt-water pool that doesn't make you feel like you are swimming in chlorine. The hydromassage chairs are the best, you can relax there for a bit after a good workout. All the staff is very friendly and able to answer all your questions. There is ample space in the parking lot.

Such a great gym. I was only in town for a week, and because of a back injury I needed a place that I could continue my workout regimen that was good quality and good price. Great gym in a convenient location. Lots of disinfectant spray bottles available for members to use as well as disinfectant wipes located throughout different fitness areas. The gym is actually pretty good compared to other gyms. I come through an employee program so cannot comment on billing issues that others are facing. But if you are looking for a good gym with all the equipments, i would definitely recommend this.

I don't like criticizing businesses publicly, and the gym itself is quite nice, but I had a very unpleasant experience with them. Here's the story:

Lockdowns started in February, so the gym closed, and members were refunded for March. Great.

I moved away from the area in June, and tried to cancel my membership by calling them (multiple times), but only got a recording indicating that they were closed, with no other info on how to cancel or contact them.

Gym re-opens in August. Billing starts again. I don't realize this until October (I don't check my email that often), and call to cancel my membership and get a refund for these months + the annual fee (~$150), since I no longer live there and I tried to cancel months earlier.

Nope. I get strung along, time after time, told that I have to email them about billing matters, and when I finally speak to a manager he denies this request. Doesn't seem right. They shamelessly profited off of extenuating circumstances.

I’ve recently had to cancel my membership after moving out of the area. I have been looking at the new gyms in my area and they don’t compare to how 425 is dealing with the current Covid environment. The individual spray bottles, personal towels, touch less sign in and equipment that is distant enough to feel comfortable without simply putting caution tape on the machines. After looking at how other gyms are handing their Covid protocols, 425 Fitness is miles ahead regarding safety and cleanliness. I don’t feel anywhere near as comfortable at any of these other gyms as I did at 425 fitness. Even before Covid, they were a quality gym.
