The South Sound PreK Academy at Ascend Dupont is phenomenal. My child is in their second year here and we couldnβt love it more. The academics are impressive, the facility is safe and secure, and the staff is warm and caring. As a parent, it is such a relief to not have to worry at all after drop-off each morning knowing your child is in excellent hands. I recommend this PreK to anyone and everyone and am so grateful that this was my childβs first school experience.

We rented this space to host a birthday party for our children (2 and 5). Not only was it incredibly affordable, but they did a fantastic job of hosting. They were very attentive, and ensured all the kids stayed safe. Set up and teardown was very easy, and they keep it very clean and tidy. The kids had a blast, and we would highly recommend this venue for parties. Extra special thank you to the staff that helped make our kids party perfect.

Overall my experience has been good. I first enrolled my son in TNT, the ninja training class. It was fun for a few weeks until new students enrolled. Then the class was too big for one instructor to handle. She couldn't get the kids to listen and the majority of time spent for the class was wasted on kids not listening. That was frustrating because we all pay good money for these classes for it to be wasted. Not to mention, because there are so many kids, half the time is spend on school yard games (like duck duck goose) since it's hard to accommodate that many kids on stations. The final straw for me came when one of the misbehaved kids started punching, name calling and spitting on other students in class, including my son. The dad did NOTHING! I had to get up and tell the kid to stop because the instructor was too busy fussing other kids for not listening. It was a mess. I immediately disenrolled my son from TNT. He is now in mighty stars and it is so much better. Less kids and better behaved kids. The time spent in class is actually spent on learning and not wasted.
The only other thing I would say that I wish improved was the time dedicated to students. It seems like the best girl in the group gets undivided attention from the instructor whereas the other girls get the next amount and then the boys. Boys are definitely not a priority for the training and instructing. I guess I'm just used to a different programs in other states that actually have classes dedicated to boy gymnastics and performance. They can't help it if there isn't the demand for it here.
Overall my son loves it and looks forward to his class every week. Friendly and accommodating staff.

We have been loving Ascend DuPont for our 4 year old & plan to get our youngest involved in classes soon too. The gymnastics classes are awesome for the various age ranges. Itβs nice to have found a place our kids can grow and develop their skills as they age. The coaches are amazing. Despite having 6+ kids in a class, they make sure each child gets help when they need it & lots of praise when they master a skill. We also recently hosted a birthday party with 20ish kids and it was perfect. Kids can run, bounce and play in a safe & fun environment. Plus the staff are so helpful the parents didnβt feel like they had to be chasing their child around the entire time.

We love Ascend Gymnastics - DuPont! My two boys have had a great experience at their South Sound PreK. Before attending here, my boys would complain about going to their old school. At Ascend, they look forward to going to βgymnastics schoolβ. I love that gymnastics is built into the curriculum; itβs helped support their physical development and be a safe space to get their boy-energy out! :) More than that, my 5yo had really progressed academically as well with his letter recognition and spelling; and I love the adorable arts and crafts projects they do. We also enjoy going to the open gyms. The PreK director, the teachers, the staff and the owner have all been wonderful to work with. Whenever Iβve had a question, concern, or issue, they have worked with me towards resolution. They communicate well, and have always been fair and forthcoming around their policies. Canβt say enough good things about this place and the people!

Worst place!!! Very rude staff in accommodation for a family emergency for my daughter to make up 3 class missed for Groupon and also this place decided to draft my account after I paid for a Groupon. Never again I should have listen when a couple my friends warned me about this place!!!

There are better places that give you more bang for your buck. Check out Star Center $100 less then what this place charges. They also work with parents financially instead automatically withdrawing there funds when you tell them your switching schools.

Absolutely LOVE Ascend we have been with them since the ending of 21β came here told them our story of living in Olympia & they welcomed us with open arms & loved on my daughter took her under their wings every single coach she has had to include TEAM level. I absolutely love all the coaches & staff here every one of them is approachable & as long as the girls are willing they are helping & working with them to get to their goals of being the BEST gymnast they can be. Definitely ALWAYS sending ppl to the gym cause I love it I left & came back & my daughter picked up where she left off like she never even left.

We absolutely love South Sound Pre-K Academy! My son attended 2 years of pre school for 3 and 4 year old program. The staff and teachers are absolutely loving, and caring towards all their students. They are very supportive of military families and understanding when their students are facing difficulties with deployment and training exercises.
The curriculum and the learning environment is amazing, my son when he started Kindergarten this past Fall, he was ahead of his peers in areas of reading and writing. When he completed pre school he was writing his full name, and reading before he started Kindergarten.

Had to switch preschools for financial reasons and they are still demanding funds for the future months (November) even though my daughter will not be attending starting November. You should not charge families for services they will not be receiving end of story.

Foul odor π€’, persistently unclean, terrible teenage "coach" with purple hair that does not actually coach and give any help or feedback to students and has a reputation for it (she argued with me when I approached her very politely about giving my child more actual coaching and doing something more than just standing there looking sorry to be there), gave my child candy without my permission every visit even after I complained about it to multiple staff members.
Was warned by fellow community members not to ever give this place my business in the first place for these reasons but fell for the Groupon scheme. The only reason they stay in business is because there's a constant flow of new residents in and out of military members in the community so they don't have to rely on repeat business over the years.
Disenrolled my child after my grievances went ignored by "coach" and staff. Yet, shockingly having such poor personal integrity and greed, the staff members saw fit to continue charging me for an entire other session even though I had such serious concerns and my child did not attend even once in the session they attempted to charge me for.
They continue collection efforts.
Let me be clear, there is not a snowball's chance in the desert that I will ever...ever... give them or anyone on their behalf, another penny. I am highly insulted that they think so little of children that they wouldn't clean the place or give them a better experience than this and that they know we are all military and they are giving such subpar service to our community and attempting to rob my family of money that does not belong to them.
Shame, shame, shame to them for what they did so far and the very idea that they think they can actually collect money from us for services not received and lie and say that they were.
No money is due, and I have already told them very clearly before that no money is going to be paid.
Period.
It makes me wonder how many families they have robbed in the past and gotten away with it, and I hadn't before; but now that they have pulled this stunt and brought the situation back up into my awareness and demonstrated a lower level of personal integrity, I have renewed concern for the well-being of current and future students. So I am going to report my concerns about cleanliness standards to the local health department. I should have done that to begin with when I first noticed the horrible odor in the Spring.
I made straight A's in my business law classes, I am very well aware that the law is on my side in this matter and that what they are doing is not only unethical; it is illegal and they could lose their business license over it. Considering that they also run a school out of the same location, they should be very concerned about the actions they are taking and ownership should intervene immediately if they intend to save their business from bankruptcy in a liability lawsuit. If one child gets sick and there is found to be a contaminant responsible located in that place of business with all the written complaints about cleanliness standards alone; that place is done for.
Do not send your child there.

If I could give over 5 stars, I would. This place has very straightforward, genuine gymnastics training and recreational classes. My daughter has been going here for almost 3 years and the progrwss she's made is awesome! Reasonably priced for the service they offer, owner is helpful, desk staff aure always great. The preschool classes they offer for certain ages is amazing and I can't say enough about the patience my daughter's coach has.

UPDATED: new coaches were added to Mini Stars and both are excellent! Coach Avery in particular is exceptional. Definitely knows how to work and connect with little kids. Our experience has been incredibly positive, we signed our kiddo up for the Winter Wonderland Camp! All issues below have no longer been an issue for several weeks.
PREVIOUS REVIEW: Wish I could rate Ascend higher. We are signed up at the Olympia branch (technically in Tumwater). The first two weeks in Mini Stars went great! Our son LOVES gymnastics now. Then all of the sudden the instructor stops instructing him on the bar. At first, we thought it was a fluke. But she kept instructing and physically helping the 3 other children on the bar. Our son did 3 more rounds all without assistance. Finally, I stood nearby and told him to straighten out his arms and he did, only then did she offer to assist him. After class I was helping him with his mask at the entrance and she pushed past us without saying anything and almost knocked me over. I am a parent with a physical disability. My husband & I gave her the benefit of the doubt on August 29th when she wasn't instructing our son but was working with the other students, because everyone has a bad day or week, no big. But two weeks of no instruction for our kid and her apathetic attitude isn't okay. Honestly, we're thinking of pulling him out of Ascend which sucks because he loves it.

It's a little pricey, but they have great teachers, structured classes based on skill level, competition teams, preschool, open gym, and ninja warrior classes for kids. They have tables and bleachers for parents waiting, a good vending machine, and ice cream. There is plenty of parking and the area is safe. The online parent portal is amazing and the staff is great. We enjoy going there. I have 3 kids enrolled.

i gotta say, this gym was excellent! but one problem, 5 years ago, my daughter had a bad experience with a coach. she has been in gymnastics for 5 years straight and before she quit, she had a coach forcefully push her off the bar. she had landed and rolled her arm and it almost broke. and have to add, the head coach only ever cared about the money and still does. other than that all the coaches are wonderful and i recommend going there! just i suggest you watch the kids in case.

Auburn gymnastics Dupont is a fantastic place for us to have our kids. They have lots of fun events and open gym and now even doing a military appreciation time on sundays. I love that they're working with the school to allow us to do lessons after school. It's so convenient it's one of the reasons we wanted to stay in Dupont. Great for Birthday events too! The staff is great with my son with special needs and is a big part of our community events. The lessons can be pricey but they work with you on missed lessons and there are lots of Groupon events frequently. Well worth the price for all they do.
