I am so happy to have found Balance Pilates! Yael's instruction is on another level. Group classes are small (5 Reformers) and you get personalized feedback on your form as well as individual modifications to work around any injury or need you may have. Arika's classes are also great and will leave you feeling so strong.
In addition to the quality of instruction, the studio has the best energy! It's positive and uplifting. But you'll still be pushed to do your best ;)
I came to this studio at a physical low point, and after consistently coming to Yael's classes twice a week, I now feel at my personal best. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for thoughtful, high-quality Pilates.

My experience at this place is below average. The instructor is mediocre - she knows some basics but not to the details of the exercises; the instructor recites the commands in each class and does not tailor guidance to individual students, and the instructor is not capable of doing so because she can never directly answer questions about my discomfort of her exercise routine; my first time missing class due to family emergency was not honored even after I apologized; I was never reminded or contacted before my last few classes go "expired"; and the language used in class is not 100% English. 千万别去,真的特别一般而且体验不好,西雅图值得更好的。

I love Pilates and I love Yael as an instructor. I was a swimmer, a gymnast, and a dancer for twenty years. Now, I am a yogi and do weight training. But Pilates is the icing on the cake. I am thrilled to have discovered Yael and Balance Pilates last year. When I first arrived at the studio, I only had experience with mat Pilates and I was dealing with painful plantar fasciitis. My sessions with Arika are the absolute BEST! I started in the winter needing a low impact strength training alternative while recovering from bunion surgery. I hadn't intended to continue but the strength I have gained in the short amount of time out weighs any other form of exercise I have done. I have continually worked out with weight trainers, taught and practiced yoga, cycle classes, hike, swam, you name it. I'm so excited about the changes in my body and honestly seeing Arika each week is a true highlight. She is fun, funny, and kicks my boot-ay!

Yael is calm and caring as a person and super knowledgeable as a teacher. She put her heart into designing the classes, so that they are never boring or repetitive and there's always something new and fun and challenging each class. There is no lack of individual attention in group classes either. One month report about changes in myself: *No significant weight change. *More awareness in ab activation in daily chores. *Super balanced on things like taking off pants with single leg standing. *Improve strengh (after losing a bet to my kid, I accidentally found myself doing 10 push-ups with ease) * No injury or pain, but there is some soreness in some daily back stretch. I would highly recommend Yael's studio to anyone with or without experience in Pilates.

I love Balance Pilates. It’s my happy place. I try to come here at least twice a week even though it’s about 30 min drive, and we have two other pilates studios near where I live. I love Balance Pilates. Since moving to Redmond last June, the rain made me a little sad, but Balance Pilates is where I go to find my sunshine and happiness. It is totally my happy place. On top of being uplifting and encouraging, Yael is one of the most skilled teachers I have ever met. I love my Pilates classes at Balanced Pilates and started two months ago. I've had classes with both Yael and Heidi and love both their professionalism, teaching styles and how they've both made me feel at ease as I am a beginner to Pilates. I started Pilates in the hopes of healing my chronic, postpartum, upper back, shoulder, and neck pain which also led to migraines. I've dealt with this for almost 10 years now and nothing I've tried has really helped. Recently I had a very bad flare up and I decided to give Pilates a chance. I was so amazed when just after my first class I woke up the next day pain free and since then I am yet to experience a flare up. I am finally happy to have found a more sustainable solution that helps me strengthen myself!

I was looking for a Pilates instructor who was very experienced in order to ensure my workout form was correct. I also wanted an instructor that was very knowledgeable about biomechanics and could help me make the necessary movement adjustments to strengthen my weak areas and to protect me from injury. I am very glad that I found Yael who is a superb teacher. She tailors my workouts to my needs and makes sure I am working hard, while being very positive and encouraging. I have been training with Yael one-on-one for only a couple months now, and had no experience with Pilates before. It is impossible to imagine a life without Pilates now! Yael is passionate, knowledgeable and has a true gift for educating while coaching. She helps me visualize the muscle groups we are strengthening and stretching, and explains the benefits of each exercise. As a plus-size person (280lbs), I sometimes need modified exercises. Yael has always been able to seamlessly accommodate the restrictions of my current body, without interrupting the flow of our sessions. She is a fantastic cheerleader and while she pushes me to challenge myself, I have complete faith she is skilled enough to never push me to the point of injury. After getting introduced to Pilates 3 years ago with Yael, I am feeling very good, and it has become a very good habit. I’ll admit I like running more and fast pace, but I feel Pilates, running and volleyball is the winning combination to keep my body away from injuries. What unique about Yael she doesn’t only know how to teach Pilates she is very knowledgeable and will modify according to the student's needs, injuries and accommodate the training accordingly. She always like to have variety of adds on instruments and as a level 2 students I always feel challenged. Yael makes me want to workout! That is not an easy thing to do. I have limited Pilates experience from the past (I took classes for 3 months long time ago), and Yael kindly accommodated to my skillset. I've been taking group lessons that usually have 4-5 people. It's nice to meet classmates!
Yael leads a fun and exciting session every time, and I always feel welcomed. She is also very knowledgable in the human body, so she recommended I see a physical therapist for my knees; I started getting treatment and discovered I actually did need it, just like Yael said!
Ever since I've started, I feel stronger and more aware of my body. I am motivated to continue working out. Yael also genuinely cares for her students, and has true passion to teach others about taking care of their body.

Pilates with Yael has truly changed my life. I have been dealing with chronic pelvic pain for the last 2 years, and pilates with Yael has been an emotional outlet for me that has helped me cope with the mental distress that my pain has caused me. It has been a great experience learning Pilates with Yael! We started with a private session at first. It was very helpful for me as a beginner to get familiar with the exercises. Yael immediately recognized the strength difference between my left and right sides and made the adjustments accordingly. The group lessons usually have 4-5 people. I met Yael two months postpartum and I am extremely grateful that I did! Very quickly I realized my core is getting tighten, flexibility increased tremendously, and I improved my muscle function.

I have gone to 4 Pilates studios in the last 5 years and own a reformer. What differentiates Yael’s practice is her deep knowledge of human body (and female body) as a physical therapist that she integrates into her exercise routines. No day is the same and she is in tuned with every student’s specific needs, prior injuries and problem areas. In the short 5 sessions she has helped me reduce chronic pain resulting from double compression of the thoracic outlet — something I struggled to improve with over a year of PT. She specializes in postpartum recovery and chronic pain reduction in addition to the classical benefits of Pilates. Yael’s studio is equipped with various Pilates systems in addition to the reformer, enabling her to diversify her routine. This studio is truly a hidden gem and I am so happy I have discovered Yael. I've finally found what I was looking for! For years I knew that I had to build myself stronger, dealing with various back pains and weaknesses, and I almost gave up, but now I found the best Pilates trainer - Yael is super professional, with thorough knowledge of physical therapy, and has the ability to explain the nuances of each exercise in order to make it the most effective. Not only that, Yael is also very attentive to feedback, so that the exercises can be accurate and optimal for the trainee.
Yael always thinks of the next level, and encourages and challenges the trainee to get there. The studio is spotless clean with best in class equipment and has a great atmosphere!
