Barre3 Ballard is a fantastic, welcoming studio space with a mix of workouts for people of all ages and abilities. I have been practice barre3 for over 10 years, and I appreciate that the program continues to evolve and update to keep me challenged and strong. This studio is especially well run and managed, with a mix of instructors of all ages and body types, with an inclusive schedule that provides options for workouts, from 45-60 minutes, early morning through evening, and everything from cardio to strength training to flow. If you haven't tried barre3, what are you waiting for?

It is my happy place where I can turn off the outside world, move my body, build strength and breathe. Plus Kimberly and Katie (the amazing owners) are the BEST!

This is such a wonderful studio! I've been taking classes here regularly for the past 9 months and I love it! They offer 4 different class types all which have such a nice blend of strength, endurance, mobility, and balance training. There are tons of class times and nearly 20 instructors to choose from, so it is easy to hop into a class when I want (and they offer livestream options too).

Even more importantly, this studio is such a wonderful, inclusive space. I always feel welcome every time I attend class. I really appreciate how the focus is not on changing our appearance at all, but instead on building functional strength and getting connected to our bodies. Owners Kimberly and Katie have helped build such a lovely community that I'm glad to be part of!

Since joining barre3, I am the strongest I've ever been. And I've been having so much fun along the way! I'd encourage anyone to give barre3 a try!

I love Barre3 Ballard! I've been taking classes here for about 8 years and I'm still challenged and having fun. The variety of classes and times allow me to fit exercise into my busy life and have helped me reduce back pain and feel stronger than I ever have. But the best part is the team. They are all so welcoming, kind and fun. They make the studio feel more like a caring friend than a business and I love how much they give back to different charities and our community.

My favorite exercise studio! The workouts are balanced and balancing. I am always in a better mood after the classes, I feel stronger and more confident with each. People here are beyond nice, the community is very fun, kind, supportive and just awesome! Truly, I couldn’t recommend Barre3 Ballard more! It’s been 3 years for me, and I am still never bored (and I get bored easily). The classes are different, very fun, no pressure, you get to choose your level of challenge… just ♥️

CHILDCARE and ME TIME ❤️ I go 3-4x a week with my 9 month old. Going to Barre3 regularly is such a treat for my postpartum body. This location is beautiful and clean with big windows, has challenging classes and a very welcoming community. It’s a special place where I get to soak in some good female energy. I’m hooked! My baby loves it too.

I want to go where everyone knows my name and that’s been Barre 3 since day one. The community I never knew I needed. Kimberly and Katie have somehow managed to gather a group of the most fabulous humans in a single spot to sweat, “therapize” and be themselves.

barre3 Ballard is truly one of my favorite places and here’s why: 1)the instructors are so incredibly skilled. The classes are always challenging and fun- the perfect combination to keep you coming back. 2) barre3 offers a play lounge/childcare option. This is how I started working out again. My son loves the play lounge. The women who care for the children are kind and welcoming. What an incredibly supportive thing to offer parents! 3) barre3 gives back to the community in amazing ways. Each month they choose a cause or organization to support through a fundraiser class and a percentage of retail sales. Their generosity is truly astounding. This place is the best.

Barre3 Ballard is so much more than just a fitness studio. Don't get me wrong, if you come here regularly, you will get fit. With all of the modifications offered by the instructors, each class you take becomes a custom workout that is both attainable and challenging, and somehow never gets easier. The Signature classes alone are enough to improve your strength, mobility, and cardio, but Barre3 Ballard also offers extension classes that focus on each of these as well.

For me, more than what being a part of Barre3 Ballard has done for my physical well-being is what it's done for my mental well-being. While the workout is a part of that, I think what owners Kimberly and Katie have made this specific studio is a much larger part. Barre3 Ballard really is a community. From the owners to the instructors to the clients, this is a place whose people cheer you on, celebrate with you, mourn with you, support you, and uplift you.

Most of my life I have been one of those people who have paid for memberships to gyms that I never went to. Barre3 Ballard changed that. After being a member for more than 8 years, I can definitely say I've gotten my money's worth.

I’ve been going to Barre3 Ballard for over 2 years and can’t imagine my life without it now. My first class was on the blacktop at my kid’s elementary school and I was immediately hooked. Katie and Kimberly are so warm and inviting - they make you feel like family. I’m not a morning person, but I am now thanks to the 5:45am classes during the week - usually my only time to squeeze in a workout!

This studio is so much more than a boutique gym. I am a big fan of this specific barre3 studio (I’ve tried Pure Barre and Barre Method). I recommend B3 Ballard to all my friends with any kind of chronic pain. I came limping into the studio three years ago, and got serious about it 6 months in when i signed up for a membership even though i had just been laid off from my job. That’s because i love it. This was due in large part, to both studio owners, who are genuinely warm, inclusive and caring.

With so many classes offered daily and with a roster of fun, approachable instructors, I’ve never gotten bored. I find new areas of my body are pleasantly sore the day after. This means it’s working, even though I’m not beating myself up like I did in Orange Theory.

I started to feel relief from pain when i committed to three or more classes a week. The surgery that was scheduled to fix my back is permanently postponed. Turns out that moving my body—stretching, strengthening and working on core muscles—is the anecdote I needed.

Bonus, the monthly membership fee is cheaper than two PT co-pays.

There’s a reason this studio has so many five-star reviews. The instructors and staff are so kind, and I am enjoying the variety of classes so far. I love that they have multiple early morning options with shorter 45-minute classes available mixed into standard 60.

The cleanliness of the studio also impressed me. Nothing worse than noticing gross dirt on the ground when you’re mid-plank. Here that isn’t a problem!

I have been a member of Barre 3 Ballard since they opened in 2016. I took the community classes before they opened the studio and knew right away it was the perfect fit for me. The classes have helped to eliminate the back and hip issues I had with the well rounded classes that encourage you to listen to your body and adjust as needed.
Barre3 is continually evolving and growing and has added new classes to challenge its members too. I am a huge fan of the cardio classes and have also incorporated the strength class to my week.

Barre 3 has always been so much more than a workout. Even pre-pandemic, it was a community that enriched my days (while also keeping me active). These last 14 months Barre3Ballard has led us through these trying times by reminding us m, by their example, to be flexible, to redefine & shift, have grace with each other, pay attention to ourselves and give back on so many levels. Survival can bring out the best & worst in people- Kimberly & her team have shown the BEST of what survival mode can look like, and taught us all to slow down, breathe deep, and that we WILL (and now HAVE) gotten through this together. I’ll be forever grateful for the inspiration and calm Kimberlys weekly emails provided me. Thank you.

I used to think barre was for people who were already hot & fit to do while looking hot & fit. Barre3 changed that for me. The classes are challenging, but the culture around fitness is so different to other studios I've been to in the past. You are encouraged to take modifications and avoid comparing yourself to others (including past versions of yourself!). Instructors will encourage you to upgrade the difficulty as you're able, but this is not an environment where someone will yell your name and run you ragged every class.

I also appreciate that calories and body appearance are never discussed and the focus is on feeling strong.

As an occupational therapist, the signature classes are a damn near perfect blend of whole-body strength training, balance, aerobic endurance, and breathwork. I also like the specialty classes like Mindful Flow for digging deeper into those areas.

Classes are frequent and at all times of the day, so I can almost always fit a 45-minute session into my schedule.

Everyone from the front desk, to the instructors, to the owners are nice, make an effort to learn your name, and check in with you. Sometimes boutique gyms like these can give off a snooty/exclusive feel and that is not the vibe here.

I'm not a parent, but I also really appreciate that they offer drop-in childcare to the community. In general, this is a very community-focused studio, and I especially appreciate special pricing for educators/healthcare workers.

Long story short, my only regret is not signing up much sooner!

Long overdue review! I’ve been coming to Barre3 Ballard for over a year. It has been a transformative and healing experience for me. I’ve notoriously been unable to consistently workout because of an “all or nothing” mindset. Roller coasting from one “hot girl summer” to another. Barre3 Ballard has introduced a method of gentle but consistent exercise. I revel in their inclusive space with so many other dynamic bodies varying in different stages of their health journeys. Instructors celebrate modifications and body awareness in lieu of heaviness of weight or rep count. I feel cared for when asked about my injuries and provided special instructions for my needs. I’m praised for taking breaks and breathing intentionally. Not to mention, they really go out of their way to remember your name which is so sweet. Katie and Kimberly have cultivated a wonderful space. Shout out to the amazing front desk people and wonderful teachers.

Barre3 is the only exercise/membership I've kept AND used. I love the welcome feeling walking in. The smiles and laughter. The music. The ability to adjust every posture to what my body needs that day. The amazing feeling afterward! I love Barre3 Ballard.

I’m really loving that the classes and practice focus mainly on feeling healthy and well in mind and body rather than on reaching an ideal body. I don’t feel judged whenever I need to modify a move or pause for a few seconds during a class.

Barre3 is my favorite workout! The instructors are excellent - encouraging, approachable and well-trained. The workout is challenging but it doesn't break my body. I leave feeling strong and refreshed.

When I first started coming to barre I was overwhelmed and unhappy that my body was changing and not cooperating with me as well anymore. In the year that has passed, I have really grown to love it - like, really love it. I have never been in better shape. My mood is calmer. Every time I walk out of there I feel better. I'm proud of myself in new ways, simple ways. Even if I'm not excited about exercising that day, the minute I put on my leggings, I feel happier. I talk about it all the time with people, and my BF says that I'm a barre evangelist. I never expected any of this!
It is a classy business. I am so grateful that I found barre. More specifically, I think that the sweet ladies that work there that make it a better experience. It's so nice to meet such genuine and interesting people. I can't recommend it enough.

My body, mind, and spirit are endlessly thankful for Barre3 Ballard! It’s a supportive, inspiring community with instructors who challenge and encourage me to take up space, be grateful for my body, breathe deeply, and become a stronger me. I have a chronic back condition that used to limit me, but if I attend three times a week, I have no pain. It feels so good to move through my day with stability and confidence.

I adore the Ballard Barre3 studio. Every single time you walk through the doors they make you feel at home. It's so much easier to connect with yourself, trust your body, and push yourself into new challenges when you know you have the supportive Barre3 Ballard community by your side. Thanks!

The women who work here are simply amazing and I always feel strong and balanced after class! It took me quite a few rain checks before I agreed to tag along with a friend, but have been going to class ever since! Thank you so much ladies, I really gain a lot from the workout and I know you all work so hard!

Amazing studio! Love Barre3 classes. At the very beginning I signed up for 2 weeks, but then changed to 1 month unlimited and looks like I'm going to be a long term member. I am addicted!

If you are looking to use some muscles you forgot you had, then I highly recommend the barre3 on 24th! The class was continuously challenging and the instructor offered form correction and alternative poses depending on ability. I plan on doing more barre3 classes. I had no idea that it would be so much fun.

So many things make Barre3 at Ballard a 5-Star experience:
!1. The owner, instructors, and staff are great people to be with and they give excellent customer service.
2. The instructors are great and are very good at explaining the workout, providing options, and making it fun and interesting. They remember your name!
3. The workout is deceptively challenging regardless of how in shape one is, what your body type is, or your age. There is always a wide variety of all these in any one class.
4. The facility is very nice, clean, and bright. There are showers and toiletries available.

A good workout should also be enjoyable and Barre3 Ballard is both!

From the first time I checked out Barre3 back in October up to now, I’ve always felt so comfortable in this space. Everyone is so welcoming and encouraging. It’s not at all a competitive or cutthroat environment—it’s all about the support. I come into most classes a little nervous about whether I’ll be able to handle the challenge (and it is a super challenging workout), but I walk out feeling strong and capable and confident every single time.

I feel like I get a better work out because of help with modifications. I leave energized And happy and wake up the next morning just a little bit sore - in a good way! The instructors are both kind and enthusiastic , I've never once felt intimidated or confused.
