ZERO stars! I do NOT recommend. Terrible customer service and Brian is rude! I paid over $100 to join, went to ONE class and immediately knew this was not for me. Ask for a refund and was told no. Then he reaches out to me a year later asking if I want to try out for $19. I mentioned my previous experience and he made it a point to tell how he stood past his working hours to sit with me and talk about the program etc. Like he did me some big favor! It's called "customer service" and as a business owner you will be working outside of your 'working hours'. Be 100% sure you want to join because there are NO refunds of any kind. Even if you attend ONE class!! Terrible way to run a business and retain customer relationships.

My friend and I signed up for the Little Black Dress Challenge, but unfortunately, she had to cancel her participation due to a sudden medical emergency. She was hospitalized and diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) after only attending the first week of the challenge. She reached out to Brian, provided documentation from her physician, and requested a refund based on the clause in the agreement that states refunds are granted for medical reasons accompanied by a doctor’s note.

Despite this, she was only offered a 50% refund. Brian explained that while he wanted to be fair, her spot had already been held and prepared for, and he hoped to “meet halfway” as a gesture of goodwill.

While I understand that businesses need to uphold policies and manage logistics, it was disheartening to see so little flexibility given the seriousness of the situation. Medical emergencies are unpredictable and can affect anyone, and I believe how a company responds in these moments reflects their values and commitment to supporting their clients.

Additionally, Brian stated that her spot had been accounted for in the advance planning—specifically referencing the celebratory dinner. However, toward the end of the challenge, he posted on Facebook with a revised date for the dinner and indicated that the headcount had not yet been finalized. This contradicts the earlier assertion that preparations had already been made for her participation and raises questions about the accuracy and consistency of that justification.

I’m sharing this experience to inform others that even with valid medical documentation and a clause in the agreement allowing for refunds due to medical reasons, you may not receive full consideration. It’s something to keep in mind before committing.

I went in on one of their $19 specials. I told them I have physical limitations that don't allow me to work out that. I'm just looking for nutrition counseling. I was invited in for a weigh in and discussion on nutrition. They did a body composition on their scale and figured out what would be good to follow for a nutrition routine to lose weight. I've been through cancer, a motorcycle accident That put me in a coma and a dog attack that has destroyed my right knee, in a period of 8 years time. So I have some limitations. The nutrition counselor said they could help me on nutrition. Their nutrition counselor gave me a routine to follow and said that I can contact her anytime I want to to tweak with it so we get great results. I followed the nutrition routine to the letter. I was not getting any results and so I contacted her by text. I was constantly ignored and then finally after months of me trying to get a hold of her, I then reached out to the management itself and told them what's going on and asked if somebody can get a hold of me to fix this. Their nutrition counselor got in touch with me and apologized for not getting back with me. She said that she was busy and didn't have time. At that time. She said that there's nothing they can do to help me and that I need to stop contacting her. She was a very young and inexperienced person doing a job that she was not qualified for, in my opinion. She made me feel like I was trying to get something for free. So I will never go there again. I feel like I wasted my money and time. Brian, the owner is very nice and seems like he cares. However, the staff does not seem to have the knowledge or empathy to help those in need of their help if is a hard case. I was not asking for free help or work. I paid for a session and I was willing to pay for more. They gave up on me quicker then fast food at midnight.

If you are ready to make a change and just need the guidance to get there I highly recommend this gym. I am on week 8 of my commitment to personal training and diet coaching and have lost 12 pounds. The coaching and accountability I am getting is above and beyond what I was expecting when I signed up. They make it sustainable and not overwhelming. My personal trainer KT is amazing at pushing me without over exerting or making unrealistic goals, and I’m seeing the results. Just finished their 6 week transformation challenge and what seemed like just some add on Facebook became the best thing that happened to me this year!

Program actually works!!! And what an entirely pleasant experience it was!!! From the initial meeting with Brian through all the boot camps to the very last moment of final measurements and a final talk with your accountability coach. These people are so personal! They root for you, they push you harder, they give you knowledge and confidence that you can meet your goals. They make you believe that those goals are realistic. And they are right! I met my goal of loosing 6% body fat in 6 weeks! And man. Feels. So. Good.

I'm giving 2.5 stars. Half great, half not so great.
They advertise "FREE" body transformation. Great, sign me up. But wait......NOTHING free about it. The bootcamp workouts are great. The bootcamp instructors are fun. I met some great people. Started to see results. BUT this place is expensive!! Furthermore, they need to live up to their end of the bargain, hell they are getting $500 for 42 days, that's the least they can do. A contract is a TWO way street NOT a one way road.
A friend did the 42 day challenge. She only ate from menu, did all required workouts, posted on FB. She followed all the rules to get her $500 (incentive money, I was told) back. She lost 5.9% body fat. Guess what happened??

On Nov 27, I began the Boomer 6 Week Transformation Challenge. A challenge that I started on both a whim and a desire to jumpstart my getting out of my funk, because we all know how easy it is to put things aside and say, "I'll get around to it later."

So, with their mealplan in-hand, and a goal of attending at least 3 bootcamps per week, my journey began. Of course, even the best-laid plans don't always come to pass. With my work schedule determining how often I could attend, and the holidays offering all kinds of seasonal goodies, I did suffer a 3lb gain during my fifth week... :(

However, I am happy to say that I finished the challenge with a total loss of 26lbs and 1.4% reduction in body fat!!!

I've been a member at Boomer Fitness for 2.5 years (with a break in the middle). I love this gym and I have been a member at many big box gyms and have worked with many personal trainers at other places. The big difference here is the environment, personal attention and the accountability. Brian and the other trainers here always welcome you when you enter and acknowledge all the hard work that you put in to your workouts. You also make lots of amazing friends here that make the workouts fun. The private Facebook pages are amazing for getting ideas, encouragement and asking questions. The trainers offer lots of help with nutrition, which for me, is my biggest struggle since I love to exercise. The trainers call/text/email or just talk to you at the gym if you don't come in as much as you used to (or as much as you've committed to).

The membership rates here are comparable (or cheaper) than other boot camp / group instruction gyms. Whether you come here for boot camps, small group training or 1-on-1 personal training, you're always working with a trainer. All the Boomer fitness clients/members actually do come in to work out regularly.....this will never become an unused membership that you're just paying for but not actually using.

I’ve worked out with personal trainers at Boomer Fitness since the gym first opened. It’s not 24H, LA or Planet Fitness and that’s a very good thing. Here you will find friendly trainers and a clean work out environment. The boot camps are fun and the gym is the right size to get a complete workout. Pricing for training is better that those big gyms and you’ll get skilled trainers that care about your fitness. Use the big gyms for cardio but consider Boomer Fitness for 1:1 training.

Deceptive and terrible value
My fiancé and I signed up for their "free 6 week challenge". It is our own fault for not reading the fine print but the fact that they were not up front with the details of the program have caused us to lose faith in this business and lose our enormous "deposit" thats required with beginning. If there is one thing you take away from this review its that: the cost of membership is so outrageous I encourage you to not support this business. We lost our hard earned amount of money for little to show for it. The trainers are good, the location is close to where I live, and the workouts are hard, thats about all the positives I have to say. The gym itself is almost comically lacking in equipment and features. We were not even given a tour before we began, not that it would have lasted long. Wanting over $200 a month for access to these services is absolutely ridiculous and makes me think the gym is hemorrhaging money and won't be around much longer, theres no other excuse. Do yourself a favor and drive 5 minutes down the road to planet fitness and get ten times the benefits for literally a tenth of the price.

I applied for the 6 week challenge after my consultation with Coach Brian. I was excited to bring and put down a deposit for the required challlenge, however due to unfortunate circumstances (injury) I wasn’t able to my begin training. I asked for my deposit back and it was returned to me, however there was a non-refundable deposit fee. The program seemed enticing and like the perfect opportunity to get on track for a healthier life style. In retrospect I also realized that it was kind of a far drive from where I would have preferred my personal gym to be. So make sure you also factor in your level of dedication and willingness to get to this location if that might be an issue with you in the future!

The gym itself is nice and clean. The trainers and people who go there are all very nice. The workouts are great. However...... they are outrageously priced and scam you into joining the gym with a "free" 6 week challenge.

They have ad after ad on Facebook for a free 6 week challenge. So I signed up. Got a text from the owner to schedule an appointment. I did so. Then tried to reply and ask if for the appointment I should be dressed ready to work out. Never got a response. Day of my appointment got a sort of rude text saying to make sure to show up and not waste their time. Again I asked if I should be dressed to work out never got a reply. Get to the appointment and get told how he realized he "didn't need everyone in Vancouver to join the gym just dedicated people." Then proceed to say it's going to be $500 and there is only 2 spots left. If you lose 25 pound in 2 weeks or 6% body fat you get your money back or it put towards a membership. The 6 week challenge I was told came with a meal plan and accountability trainers and what not. Joined the challenge. There is 100% no accountability. No one checked in when I only showed up one day a week 2 weeks in a row. No one checked in when I didn't post my food on Facebook like you are required to do. Unless you are part of the "in crowd" it was hard to even talk to the trainers before or after workouts when I had questions. They had messaged me about a billing issue. I responded promptly and never got a response and when I asked if they got my message when I asked a week later they said yes.
They all have very poor communication skills. They don't actually care about your success like they try and say. It's also probably hard to keep track of so many people. It's advertised that they only take 25 or 40 people depending on the ad but they will have several challenges going at the same time so don't feel pressure to fill the "last spots" because it's about the money and they will take anyone. Once you have completed the challenge if you want to stay it's $250 month plus a $100 sign up fee. If you win the challenge you only pay $150 a month instead. Absolutely ridiculous. While the work outs are great and the trainers are nice it's not worth that. I can go pay the same price else where for so much more and one on one training where I will actually be held accountable. Don't waste your time or money here.

O and lastly some of the good reviews are people who had to post good reviews to get there money back. If you win the challenge to get your money back you have to post a great review. So don't believe all that you read either. Some of them have probably been paid for.

I had gone for a 6 week "FREE" challenge consultation. well, it's not free, it's actually 500 dollars for the program and you get your money back "IF" u lose 25lbs or 6% body fat. well I feel it's in their hands to lose that weight and they can make it so you don't lose it and they get your 500.
