The only consistently positive aspect of this company is the flexibility they offer — being able to make up sessions as needed is truly helpful. However, flexibility alone isn’t enough when the overall structure of the program is lacking.
There is no guarantee of having the same instructor or staying in the same level you originally booked through the app, which makes it difficult for the kids to build continuity in their learning. In addition, there doesn’t seem to be a clear or scheduled process for assessing the children’s progress. Parents often have to request — sometimes repeatedly — for their child to be tested, and even then it’s not always certain when that will happen.
In our case, my daughter has only moved up one level over the course of an entire year, which has been quite disappointing. The instructors themselves are wonderful, patient, and great with the kids, but the system they work within doesn’t support consistent progress.
With classes lasting just 30 minutes and up to four children per session, each child only receives around 7–8 minutes of individual attention. It’s understandable that improvement becomes limited under those circumstances.
Overall, I truly appreciate the flexibility and the kindness of the instructors, but I hope the company can improve its structure and evaluation process in the future.

We love the classes here! It's always well organized and the class sizes are great. Easy to schedule/communicate (app is also great). Big shout out to all the instructors who really take the time to understand what your kid needs and help them through it! Yesterday my son was struggling to adapt to his new level as it was his first class without a parent in the pool and Brian (who wasnt the assigned instructor) jumped in with him to make him feel comfortable and it was truly heartwarming to watch :)

My baby started at 3-ish month old and enjoyed the classes very much. The instructors are great, and the environment is safe and generally comfortable. During the class time, the whole right lane will be divided into different zones for different classes. You may want to put on a baby swim shirt during winter to keep warm. Our regular schedule was on Saturday morning but we found it much more enjoyable on weekdays when we did the makeup classes as it’s less crowded. However they do have lots of options for weekend class without needing to join a waitlist.

Great teachers, good instruction. Kids are making strides and moving up swimming levels. App is good and you can mark absences or schedule make-ups within the app. Phone support is also responsive and they can schedule for you, if you don't want to use the app.

We had a wonderful first time experience. Our instructor, Pierce, was extremely patient and tolerant of our baby's first swim class ever. Our little one is only 7 months old and had a rough time finding calm so there was a lot of crying and screams but Pierce was extremely encouraging and continued to lead class without letting any frustration show on his face (tolerating a crying child that isn't your own can be super difficult if you're not accustomed to it).
We really appreciated the professionalism and overall structure of the class. 30 minutes was the perfect amount of time and included a lot of variety while also integrating familiar movements and exercises that our baby will come to understand and recognize as time goes on.

My 2 yo started parent and tot lessons at BSS 2 years ago and it was a great introduction to feeling comfortable in the water. However, once she progressed all the way to turtle 1 (level 4), she got stuck. It’s 30 min lesson with 4 students, minus last 5 minutes are reserved for play. So overall each kid will only get 5-6 minutes of active swim time. My daughter started complaining that waiting for her turn is boring and she’s losing interest in swimming. When I took her to few private drop in sessions, the difference was incredible. She learnt more in her 1 private lesson than she did in weeks worth of group lessons. BSS also changes instructions on a whim without any warning, which I think is a huge factor for little swimmers. All in all, it’s a great place to introduce your little one to water but not when it comes to actual stroke development.

We are so happy to see our daughter's steady improvement and confidence in swimming. She joined BSS as a Starfish (this is basically like Level 1 with no previous swim lessons) just earlier this year so it's very evident how far she's come. The instructors she's had have all been wonderful. It's clear they are well trained in teaching children- they are kind, patient and make learning fun!
