During the year I lived in Roosevelt, Community Fitness was my go-to studio. I loved Body Pump classes in particular - Susan, Ola, Katie and Kayla all offered quite different teaching styles, and I appreciated them all! It really is an awesome community - I will miss having it around the corner!!

I haven't been able to go to the Community Fitness facility in many years due to moving, but today, as I'm trying to find something to fill that hole, Community Fitness is the standard I am holding new facilities to. They do an incredible job of being warm, welcoming, inclusive, and create a stellar environment to try and learn new forms of movement. I would recommend for anyone looking for a place to feel safe and to move.

I’ve been going to Community Fitness for about four months now, and it’s such a welcoming environment—especially Cat’s dance classes. And I almost don’t want to tell you how amazing Kayla is as a Body Pump instructor… only because I don’t want her class to get too full!
Kayla truly excellent at what she does. The other instructors are great, but Kayla really stands out. She gives clear, detailed instructions and really makes sure you’re protecting your back during every exercise. She’s motivating in a way that feels authentic, not cheesy, and I genuinely look forward to her classes. I used to hate Body Pump, and now I’d go to her class at 3 AM if she taught it.
The only thing I would say about Community Fitness is that folks that work a job that they need to be in person for at 8AM kind of miss out on the daytime classes! Would totally love if classes could be offered from 6 AM to 7 AM! But understand that they are probably at the mercy of the instructor’s availability!

I’ve been going to this gym in Seattle for a few months now, and I absolutely love it! The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the facility is always clean and well-maintained. They have a great variety of equipment, from free weights to cardio machines, and there’s never a long wait to use anything.
What I really appreciate is the positive atmosphere — everyone here is focused, respectful, and supportive. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, this place makes you feel welcome. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a solid gym in the Seattle area!

Community Fitness is one of my favorite places in the whole world! It’s full of really caring, thoughtful and welcoming people. CF if not only a great place to find a fun workout but it’s a great place to get to know the other members and create longstanding connections. This place really cares for one another. The dance classes are amazing!! And all their other classes are incredible too. Cannot recommend this place enough!

This place is awesome! I’ve been to two classes here, dance club with Medora and the Afrobeats class and both were doable for a first timer. I have had dance class experience, but I had never been to these classes before and the way they are formatted means that you can scramble along even if you’ve never been there before. There are 2 to 4 minute songs, and the eight counts are repeated so you can pick it up after a while. I can see where if you come from week to week, you would have the dances down like the rest of the class. The biggest, and most lovable thing about community fitness is the warm and friendly reception I’ve had each time I’ve come there. Not just by the teachers but by the class members . I always seem to have a conversation or get high-fives or encouragement from the people around me. They have towels and water and lots of space to store Your stuff. Registration is efficient, parking isn’t terrible in that area. I’m excited to try more classes even though I live about 30 minutes away from here.

I love community fitness! Dance club on Mondays and Wednesdays is by far my favorite class! Its difficult to make it to other classes as there are no early morning classes so the odd schedule has prevented me from applying for the monthly membership. Buying the class packages is the next best option.

I love community fitness. The instructors are great, and I try to get to as many classes I can. That being said, it's tough when you work a 9-5. I feel like a lot of the classes are during the work day which really limits the types of classes I can do. There are a ton of dance classes after work, but I prefer the weight lifting/barre/Pilates classes. I would also love to go to classes in the morning before starting my workday too, but unfortunately the earliest class as of lately is at 8:30am.

Community Fitness is my go-to gym for dance and weights. As the name suggests, COMMUNITY shows up there. The owner sets the tone for connection in a well run, soul-filling gym. A couple personal faves: Susan Slater's signature style of fun, high energy and daily celebrations. Kat Dowrey's dance classes are filled with butt-shaking moves and laughter. A member nearly 10 years, I love the variety of offerings. My father joined me until his final months at age 94, shaking his butt with the rest of us. He was madly in love with Susan who treated him like the rock star he is. Come join the fun!

I absolutely love the dance classes and the community. I lived in Seattle this past summer for a few months, and going to Community Fitness was the highlight of my week. I'm now back in Utah, and I do Kat's Dance Fitness class at least once a week virtually. I struggle with body image and related issues but LOVE to dance - it makes me feel free and confident. Kat's class is seriously what I need every single week to connect to my inner bad b*tch 😊 The way Kat instructs and engages with the class make everyone feel sexy, confident, and empowered. The other dance classes are also really awesome.

They have fantastic covid protocols stricter than CDC reqs. They even circulate even fresh air every 5 minutes!!!! At the same time, prices are reasonable, the community is warm and friendly, classes are a fun with a huge variety - no judgement for any fitness level(!!). THANK YOU Community Fitness for all of your hard work to keep everyone safe and healthy. I am beyond grateful to finally have a place to work out.

I had a negative experience as a new member. Supposedly the $15 drop in classes are "perfect for visitors and first timers", yet I was never told that the dance class I was dropping in to had been in session for almost a year, with an intense choreography already taught. I felt completely out of place and misled by the inviting description.

What is not to love in that gym? Great instructors and trainers, perfect mix of participants of all ages and backgrounds, nice exercise rooms, clean bathrooms and friendly front desk staff. Great neighborhood fitness studio. They dpecialize in having group workout classes. They have cycling, zoomba, barre, yoga and even dance classes. The classes all last about 1 hour long. The instructors are friendly and they bring a lot of energy to the classes. I would certainly recommend the studio for anyone that likes to get their workouts primarily through fitness classes.

This is the bigger of the two Community Fitness locations. I love the variety of classes and the sense of community here. If you're looking for a great workout and a good deal, Community Fitness is my favorite local option.
