I can’t say enough good things about this gym! From the moment I walked in, I noticed how clean and well-organized everything was. They’ve got all the equipment you need for a full-body workout, whether you’re into strength training, cardio, or functional movements.
But what really makes this place special is the owner/trainer. She’s amazing — so knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely cares about helping you improve. I really appreciated how she corrected my form and pushed me without being overbearing. She’s no-nonsense in the best way, and it made me feel both supported and challenged at the same time.
If you’re looking for a clean, welcoming gym with someone who really knows their stuff and wants you to succeed, this is the place!

3 year update: it's so worth it. I've been working with Sonja Demco for a little over 3 years and I can't believe how much better I feel, physically and mentally. I'm doing pull ups and pistol squats! I can ski several days in a row without issue! It feels like magic, but Sonja isn't a magician — she's an expert in her field who knows how to meet people where they are with challenging, tailored workouts. And importantly, she's incredibly skilled at *motivating* her clients to do what will make them feel and look their best. I'm grateful I found her, and can't wait to see what kind of crazy fitness milestones I'm hitting in another 3 years with her in my corner.

Efficient and rewarding personalized training! I do semi-private training with a friend, and the training sessions kind of just feel like chilling with friends (while getting destroyed by Sonja’s program). Sonja gives great directions and I’m definitely pushing myself way further than I would on my own.

She also helped me find some of the equipment I was looking for and set it up for me if it needed to be. I have been training at Demco Fitness for 3 years working with coaches Ro and Sonja. The personalized plans and training are extremely effective has helped me overcome prior injuries and made me more athletic. As examples - I have a history of shoulder dislocations, the training plans have improved my shoulder mobility and strength to the point where I can one arm hang without any pain or discomfort. Visited in town for a few days and had the a great experience. This concept of semi-private small group workouts provides the opportunity to have someone give you a plan made for your goals and oversight on how to execute and improve. Coach was knowledgeable, encouraging, and supportive in building strength, education of trainees on form and names of exercises so they can eventually learn how to do it by themselves.

I started working with Sonja about two years ago. I'm 70 years old. My goal was to build upper arm strength and make sure I was steady on my feet. I did Sonja's intensive introduction course and then continued on for about a year and a half. Sonja is awesome. Her instincts are excellent with regard to the type of exercise I needed and how to make adjustments. Today I've got my own routine and go to my gym three times a week for a shorter workout. And I feel great. You can even feel the muscles in my arms, which I never had before. I highly recommend Sonja's program. For someone like me who was never interested in weight training before, Sonja was the perfect solution. I looked forward to going to the gym with her and still do. I will be forever grateful for her guidance. Is it intimidating for a 70 year old woman to join a gym with a bunch of young people? A little. But in the end, I was hoping that I could inspire them. I've joined numerous group fitness classes over the last 10 years, along with strength training on my own 3-4 times a week. I initially joined Demco when I hit a plateau and lost motivation. The semi-private training with Sonja and Ro exceeded my expectations. I love that they create a personalized program based on your goals. They paid close attention to my form and gave me tips that made the biggest difference in my strength training. It made me realize I've been working out the wrong way my whole life! I have been training with Roland for two years, and at Demco fitness the last one. Prior to working with Sonja and Roland, I had never touched a kettlebell or barbell. Getting started on a fitness journey can seem daunting, but with their technical expertise and encouragement I’ve overcome a lot of those fears and picked up a bit of muscle along the way.
The group fitness classes have become my daily escape where I can separate from the stress of work and focus on self improvement. Sonja and Roland have cultivated a group of like minded individuals who like to lift heavy things together, but also laugh and celebrate each others accomplishments.
I’ve made the most progress in personal training sessions. Roland has done a great job at tailoring my programs to what ever goal I have for that season of life. There’s always an emphasis on safety and education, which I really appreciate. If you would have told me a couple of years ago that I’d be learning power cleans, I wouldn’t have believed you. I owe a lot of my progress to these two!

I've been training with Coach Ro for over a year. This gym is phenomenal. Coach Ro takes his time to support each individual during group fitness- he breaks down the movement pattern, makes individual adjustments, and is a great motivator. As a beginner, I felt very welcome to the gym community who are regulars and consistent with Ro. They also help with identifying areas of growth and are fun to be around. Everyone has a growth mindset that is motivating to be around.

I joined this gym back in Dec '21 and it's been great.
I have had the opportunity to workout with Coach Sonya and Coach Roland and both of them are great and have very different styles.
They pay close attention to form to ensure you are concentrating on the right muscle group and don't injure yourself. They are very accommodating and make adjustments if required.
The fitness center offers various programs including but not limited to
1. Semi-private training (which is heavily data oriented making sure you can track your progress and improve over time), and;
2. Group training classes (which focus on both strength and conditioning)
Outside of these, they also host run clubs and other events bringing members together.
If I had a request, it would be to introduce more group training classes over the week and weekend.
If you have been looking for a fitness center with great community and awesome coaches, I would most certainly recommend Demco fitness.

1 year at Demco Fitness!!!! Celebrating it with a review.
This is not a regular gym where we do 100+ squats or run non stop on the treadmill. Spoiler alert, there’s no treadmill, elliptical etc. Cardio is taken care of by Rower, Ski Erg, Sleds, Air bike. Don’t like to use any of it? Sure, you can get your heart rate up just by body weight exercise. Sonja / Selina both have some insanely effective exercise ideas. To be honest, the max reps I could remember was 12, thats the beauty of the workout program. It’s unbelievably effective. Whatever your goals are, no matter how crazy, you’d get there. All you need to do is show up!
The Gym is nicely setup. Free weights, Kettlebells, Barbells, Bench, Med Balls, Ropes, TRX. Basically just about everything you need for a killer workout.
I workout 3x / week, follow what Sonja / Selina design for me. It has changed my life. I’ve never been in better shape, both physically and mentally. This Gym is my happy place. :)

Sonja is by far the best trainer I’ve ever had. She puts in a lot of effort to make a workout plan based on individual goals and fitness levels. They change every 4 weeks. She’ll walk you through each exercise, making sure you get the proper form, with all the right muscles engaged. She’s super fun, knowledgeable and caring. This place is worth every penny. I’ve been going to the semi-personal classes for over a year now and I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. When I first started, I was a gym newbie. I had zero body strength. Sonja’s training (the owner) is so good that I can now actually do a pull-up! Her classes are welcoming to all people and all fitness levels.
Sonja is a very knowledgeable trainer and she creates a custom program each month tailored to your body and goals. This is really nice because the workout is different each day and I don’t get bored of it. Sonja’s programming is effective - you know you’re going get results No cookie cutter workouts here!
During the workouts, Sonja and her trainers make sure you that do the exercises with proper form and continue to modify your program based on how your body feels during the workouts. She’s the real deal guys.
The bootcamp/hiit classes are pretty good too. Every class is different which makes it fun and challenging each time.

Whether you have 1:1 workouts or attend a semi-private session, Sonja and her staff know what you should be doing. I was amazed during a semi-private with 5 other people how much attention was focused on each of us – correcting movement, answering questions and giving encouragement. Fitting in was one of my concerns but at this gym you see every body type and every age group; and each person has their own goals. My workout is updated regularly which keeps it from being boring and gives me a feeling of accomplishment.

I love going to Demco. If you asked me a year ago if I was willing to get up at 6am to go to the gym, I would have laughed. The group dynamic here is perfect for me and I am always excited to go. I also appreciate the balance of independence and instruction while working out. I have knee issues and my programs are always accommodating to where my body is at and how I am feeling. My strength/endurance is incredible after only 3 months; ski season has been that much more fun, and I can't wait for hiking season.

Sonja knows her stuff when it comes to functional training and will not try and sell clients on a short term fix or an exercise program which isn't focused on long term health and strength progression. The gym has a great vibe and is a little oasis during long dark Seattle winter days. Her model of preparing an individual program for small group training works - it avoids having a personal training looking bored while clients move through exercises but ensures an experienced trainer is at the ready to correct technique and provide accountability

Not only is she an incredible trainer, she is also an incredible person and cares deeply about her clients and their health from the inside out! My strength training program was tailored to my goals and changed monthly, which meant I was always getting the most of each workout. And having an experienced trainer there at all times meant I could always ask questions and get feedback on my form right there on the spot. Sonja has also built a special community of trainers and clients within her studio. The people are what made it fun to come in each day! Highly recommend this place!! :)

I have been working out at demco fitness now for almost a year and I just have to say how much I love it. When I first started, I was uncoordinated and did not know how to strength train beyond working out on machines. I also had back pain due to my career as a dental hygienist. The trainers here are so personable and hilarious that being so new to strength training did not feel uncomfortable. I no longer have back pain and I have more results than I have ever had working out alone. Also, the people that work out here are the best! I have made some great friends here. I highly recommend this place!

I've been going to Demco Fitness for over a year and I can safely say this is the place to go if you're on a journey to better health and fitness. As someone who shied away from chain gyms and trendy, aggressive crossfit studios I feel that I found exactly what I needed at Demco. Sonja and her crew have been crucial in my transformation--workouts are tailored to what you want to achieve, you're encouraged to go at your own pace, and the gym sessions have a limited number of people to ensure you're getting the proper 1 on 1 time with the trainers. Everyone at Demco is supportive, kind, and respectful and it is a great atmosphere to be in whether you're a seasoned gym rat or someone who has never lifted a weight. I've gone from someone who hasn't worked out in earnest for almost a decade to a regular at Demco. This past year has been well worth the cost and effort for me, and I believe in Sonja so much that I paid another year in advance. If you decide to take the plunge and go to Demco after reading this review, make sure to say hi if you see me!

This place is great, it's got the group feel you would get with crossfit but with really thoughtful individualized training and really good coaching. Sonja knows her stuff and if you're a fitness junky, the facilities and equipment are everything you'd want in a dream gym. So lucky this place is nearby.
On the downside, she keeps making me work harder and do more reps and lift heavier weights and correct my form and eat better... What a jerk.

Sonja is amazing! I worked out with personal trainers 1:1 in the past and also tried going to the gym to work out on my own but Sonja created a great mix of the two. Personal training sessions can become very expensive quickly, especially if you are doing it on the regular basis. Working out on your own is definitely cheaper but I could never find motivation to do it consistently. I’d go for a couple of months and then stop.
Sonja’s workouts are created for each person individually and you end up doing a completely different routine from the other 3-5 people, who work out at the same time as you do. You are still getting an individual approach and motivation from Sonja but you have other people who work out with you at the same time.
Sonja does a great job keeping an eye on everyone working out at the same time. I really enjoy these workouts!

I've worked with a variety of personal trainers before, but none motivated me to stick with it consistently as much as at Demco Fitness. Sonja truly works hard to provide you with a personalized, long term fitness program. She creates a schedule for each of her clients with all the exercises to do over several weeks, walks you through all of them as you go, and can explain why each routine is important. After working with Sonja for about a year, I've noticed a huge improvement in my fitness that's helped me to do things such as bike from Seattle to Portland and spend 40+ days skiing this past winter.
I also found semi-personal training to be much more fun than just having one person watch you do all your reps for the full hour. You get to work out with a few other people all doing their own programs, and Sonja is still always there to help you out and push you further. If you're really nervous about working out with other people at first, you can always book a few private sessions to start out. I highly recommend Demco Fitness and am really sad I have to find a new gym when I move.

Sonja is a great instructor and can modify any exercise to make sure you get the workout you need taking into account any injuries or limitations you might have. I trained with Sonja (unlimited monthly plan for about 3-4 months) and loved it! I felt stronger and started seeing results right away (she provided nutritional guidance as well). She is an incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and easygoing person. The only reason I stopped training there is because I’m traveling to the east coast for work regularly but plan on going back soon once the traveling stops. I have been going to this gym for a few months now and it is by far my favorite gym I have ever joined. There is a real sense of community and you don't get that weird LA fitness vibe where everyone is weirdly into themselves.
Sonja by far is the best part. She takes a lot of time and thoughtfulness in building a plan personally for your needs. I have a really bad back and she has been very meticulous on building a plan that not only protects my back but works to strengthen it as well so I can advance my fitness goals. She has also really helped me rethink how I think and eat my food, and I LOVE to eat. If you communicate your needs and goals, Sonja will do everything in her power to give you the guidance and support you need. She also does an amazing job at creating a community within the gym. She is hilarious and a great people person.

As a pretty active person who works out daily and typically does my own thing and trains for long distance cycling I dont often find people or workouts that challenge me. I recently started taking the MWF bootcamps and I have to say Sonja and her Demco Fitness workouts have blown me away. They exaust me every time and work muscles that I dont pay enough attention to in my own programming. Sonja is also always happy to modify work outs to make them even harder! I plan to continue going to bootcamps to help round out my training regiment. A buddy of mine who is a trainer recently worked out with me and joked "jacked zach is back" well I have Sonjas work outs to thank for that!

Sonja Demco is the best trainer I have ever had. My program is individualized based on my goals and fitness level. The program changes every 4 weeks. I am able to do skills/activities I never thought I could do in my mid 50’s. I have fun.... and have met really wonderful people who also train with Sonja.
